Just moving to the area, I had to find new restaurants. I saw Lucca's Delicatessen on my way home and did a little research to know that they are newer (not even a year). Upon walking in, it was fairly clean. There are some tables for sitting, a cash register where you order and pay before your food gets made. There are a lot of different options, which I wasn't prepared for. Their online menu didn't reflect everything they had, which was not a problem. Sandwiches were made fresh, meat cut to order, and service was great. I found the deli in the area I'll be going to. I highly recommend coming here!

This place was an absolute staple for me for many years. Working down at the Town of Esopus…read moreTransfer Station, we weren't left with many options for Breakfast. Country Store never once done me wrong. The food was plentiful, delicious and cooked to order. You'd be hard pressed to find a more inviting environment with better food. Breaks my heart to see it closed. Many thanks to the couple that owned it. Support your local eatery, friends! They're becoming fewer and much further in between.

A true local country store with a ton of zany and mouthwatering sandwiches invented by the husband…read moreand wife owners of 30 years! On a way back from a Catskills cabin retreat, we wanted to find a country store, to perhaps find some local goods like local honey, jams, etc. Unfortunately, this place wasn't that because it was more of a deli/general store type on a main road, but they made up for it with delicious sandwich offerings featuring Boar's Head products! We had to wait for the dynamic husband and wife duo to help loyal customers who were coming back for "the usual" or trying something different "this week" and knew immediately how integral they were to this community! Later when trying to decide, the owner told us how he grew up there, wanted to be out of this woods so badly as a young man but never got to leave, and ended up sticking around - running this store for 30 yrs and how happy he was with family and a nice property with fields and stuff! We really bonded in that short while! My wife got the Honey Mama? which had turkey and ham with honey mustard and cheese. It was really loaded, maybe too loaded with ham that I felt the flavor was a bit skewed towards being too heavy. They were too generous! I had to have the pastrami on rye with swiss and horseradish sauce and the man asked, "you want bacon?" to which I obviously couldn't refuse! It took a bit long and the lady told me that she threw away the first toasted rye cuz she wasn't happy with how it was over toasted... much appreciated because when I bit into that gorgeous thing, I was in heaven. Pastrami wasn't too salty and had a great taste, buffered by refreshing horseradish sauce, accented by occasional bits of really crispy bacon. My wife stole a few bites of mine. Overall, other than sandwiches, the store offers usual fare of drinks, they have some beers, some baked goods and other usual packaged essentials but sandwich is their main game! You can see so many random sandwich concoctions scribbled on laminated sheets and posted everywhere near the sandwich counter! If you're passing by and want a great meal on the go, give this wonderful folks your time & business. You won't be sorry! Thanks again.

Lately there have been a lot of reviews for this spot from other yelpers about this spot…read more When I first read it, I was like, where is this breakfast spot in Ballston Spa. I'm not beven exaggerating, but I have probably passed this spot like a 1000 times and didn't know this was a deli spot. A big tip here, make sure you market it properly as only locals who have tried would be aware of it. And guess what, this local never knew and mistook it for a convenience store. The deli has a lot of potential with a little upgrades. The deli has few spots for indoor seating and an amazing spot with picnic benches, in the woods with a view of a creek. The deli has been voted Saratogas best multiple times. I just got to know it but, this deli is listed for sale. We tried an eggplant panini and a chicken cheese steak. Both of which were good. We took the tiramisu to go. They do get a few bakerybitems from NYC everyday. Small local restaurant that is definitely worth a try. They have ample parking and could get crowded.

This is an unfortunate update. The original operator has since retired and sold the business…read moreseveral months ago to a new owner who is running the deli. This is my first time through since the turnover. Right away you can see the decor that used to cover the walls, giving this spot massive character, is gone, hopefully that is something to be added by the new owners going forward. There are some things from my experience that may be chalked up to the recent turnover such as a messed up order that was fixed and the longer than typical wait for this type of food, but the quality of the food also took a hit. The sandwich was mediocre and the muffin was incredibly dry.
