    a pancake and a bagel

It was nice to see this location re-open after being closed for 6 months or so. This deli has changed hands many times over the years, but it's always served solid breakfast food and sandwiches. Now it's back in the hands of the Cannone's who have owned several businesses in the Wilton / Saratoga area in the past (including "Christina's Pizza" in this very plaza.) I stopped in for breakfast and got some large, tasty, piping hot pancakes for five dollars! I also ordered a bagel just to see if they were any good (it wasn't.) One of these days I'm going to learn not to order bagels outside of a bagel shop! Will definitely come back for a sub the next time I'm in the mood. They're still carrying Boar's Head deli products so I'm confident they'll be good. They have an assortment of freshly baked dessert items on hand as well, including cheesecake!

Great food. Subs are huge! Fast service. Real rolls not those processed ones you get from other sub shops.

The plan was to eat half of it in their cute dining area, but I ate the whole thing. There are many great things about this market. The food selection is amazing and all high quality. From baked goods to pastas, from fresh meats and cheeses to sauces and prepared meals & soups, everything is carefully chosen and made with care. Everyone who works here is tops in their field and the team genuinely cares that the customer is happy. For my gluten-free friends - there is a wide variety of quality and great tasting choices for you. The fresh bakery even has gluten free cookies that are to die for. This place is a gem. Unfortunately, the experience was anything but great. To start, the service was incredibly slow. Even though the place was fully staffed, it felt chaotic and uncoordinated. We waited over 30 minutes for 2 subs, 1 eggplant roll, a few rice balls and fried ravioli. The employee had no idea how much anything cost or how to ring it up, needing to ask 2 other employees before incorrectly charging us anyway. The people at the register were also confused. We grabbed a container of sauerkraut, which they couldn't scan and needed go back to the aisle to check the price to ring up. After getting home, we discovered both subs were made incorrectly. Both the Italian supreme and deluxe Italian were made with shredded mozzarella, one of the subs was missing balsamic glaze and olive oil while the other was missing half the meats. To our dismay, we also found plastic in the Italian supreme sub in two different bites. When we called to give them the feedback on the plastic, they apologized with no follow up of trying to make it right - offering a refund or coming back to make a new sub correctly would have been the bare minimum for good customer service, but instead we were left feeling dismissed and frustrated after an already disappointing visit. Sure, the bread was good, but it couldn't make up for the poorly made sub. A brand-new place should be going above and beyond to make a strong first impression. Instead, this was a total letdown. Between the slow service, confusion of the staff, and plastic in the sub, it was very disappointing. Opening day or not -- food safety and customer service matter. And they failed on both fronts.

As one of the few restaurants open on a Monday evening, it proved to be an excellent choice for dinner. Dining solo, I grabbed a seat at the bar and enjoyed a conversation with the knowledgeable and courteous bartender, who was happy to share insights about the restaurant's approach to barbecue. Although Dizzy Chicken is well known for its rotisserie chicken, I opted for the smoked half rack of ribs, which were exceptionally tender and packed with rich, smoky flavor. The bartender also pointed out that even the house-made barbecue sauce is smoked in-house, a detail that perfectly reflects the restaurant's commitment to layered, authentic flavors. What impressed me most was the dedication to quality and craftsmanship. Everything on the menu is prepared from scratch, including the sauces, dressings, breads, and cheeses. This attention to detail is evident in every bite. Founded by husband-and-wife team Justin and Maya Bartlett, Dizzy Chicken Barbecue combines traditional slow-smoked barbecue with subtle Mediterranean influences inspired by their travels and culinary backgrounds. Since opening in 2015, the restaurant has built a reputation for creative, high-quality barbecue and has successfully expanded to its Saratoga Springs location. The restaurant's wood-burning rotisserie, featuring antibiotic-free and cage-free chickens, inspired the name "Dizzy Chicken" and serves as a centerpiece of the operation. Combined with the owners' commitment to fresh, preservative-free ingredients and from-scratch cooking, it creates a dining experience that feels both thoughtful and distinctive. Dizzy Chicken Barbecue is well worth a visit. Great food, friendly service, and a genuine passion for quality make it a standout destination in Saratoga Springs.
