The casual deli experience is inclusive of the short wait time and straightforward efficient service. With only a few tables located at the back of the deli, it is likely best to dine in during an off time or just take it all togo. While I've only visited this location in Latham, Saati is also present in Albany. My sister, who lives closer to Saati than I do, enjoys getting food from here, she likes it, and she and her co-workers get group take-out from here regularly. So on a recent visit to her place, I decided it was time to see for myself. I was glad I did, the food and experience were good. The interior is spotless. Ordering at the counter was quick and easy. The sandwiches are thick with their sliced meats. The salads are a bit more expensive than I originally expected, but the larger amount of salad more than justified the price I paid. We had leftovers. For future orders, I may try ordering online and picking up to avoid a wait for my pickup. read more

For context, I rate products on a simple scale: 5 stars means I love it, 4 stars means I like it, 3 stars is okay, 2 stars means I didn't like it, and 1 star means I hated it or think it's unsafe. I was out running errands around lunchtime and wanted something other than a typical fast food stop like 5 Guys. I had eaten at Saati Deli before and since I was already in the plaza, I decided to go there. There were a few people in line and a few waiting for orders. I grabbed a soda and when it was my turn, an employee was moving around behind the counter but did not acknowledge me. It only took a few minutes for a woman to come over and ask if I had been helped. She took my order, a turkey and Swiss on toasted rye with fries, and I paid. My order took a little longer than expected. When my sandwich was brought out, the fries were missing. The employee realized it and went to get them, but there was a brief mix up before the correct order was brought out. It was not a big deal for me since I was not in a hurry, and I have eaten here before without delays, so this may have just been an off day. I had more errands to run and did not eat right away. By the time I got home, the fries were still warm, which impressed me. The sandwich was tasty as always and the fries were very good. My order was correct and the food quality was exactly why I keep coming back. I have also been at events that Saati has catered, and the food has always been very good there as well. The space inside is a bit small, but I do not mind that. What stands out less positively is the customer service. Several other reviewers have mentioned the staff not being very friendly, and I would agree. The interaction feels less than businesslike, more like they will get you your food but without much engagement. A little more warmth would go a long way. Prices are on the higher side, but that comes with freshly prepared food and I am fine with that, especially when supporting a local business instead of a big chain. I will return because I do enjoy the food and appreciate having a local option like this. You want a proper pastrami sandwich?? Here it is. Excellent sandwich and the sides are equally as good! EVERYTHING IS HOUSE MADE. One of the better pastrami sandwiches I've had and by far the best Mac and potato salad I've tried. Their menu is incredible with something everyone will like! Decent deli spot. Came with my Mom for lunch. Sandwiches were great and include a pickle and choice of potato salad, coleslaw or macaroni salad. I had the Turkey Ruben which was substantial and very tasty. Lots of cheese and sauce so a bit messy but in a good way. Mom had a grilled cheese. Minor complaints: they could benefit from a purse hook in the women's restroom and some new outdoor furniture. The outdoor furniture was a bit run down and rusting. Service was nice. We still like Saati Deli but every single time we order take out for pickup they leave something out! This time it was the macaroni salad that came with my Turkey Reuben. I know they figure that into the price and it's really annoying. The Reuben was very good and so were my families sandwiches but I would like what we pay for! Excellent food and plant-based options are available! We ordered the vegetable hummus bowl (no egg) which is topped with delicious roasted vegetables and plenty of hummus and pita bread wedges. The cauliflower wrap was good but next time I will try something else. Something about the seasoning just wasn't for me. The French fries were good and my nephew enjoyed the monster burger topped with bacon and mozzarella sticks this burger lives up to its name on calories alone. Saati offers a full delicatessen experience with premade items, salads, cured meats, soups, sandwiches made to order as well as grill items. I ordered a roast beef sandwich and forgot to tell them that I would like my roast beef fully cooked. The service was not as friendly as they should be. The front guy forgot to tell me I should perhaps get a drink too. *Their soups don't travel well. If they pack it for you to bring it to your family. You should repack it really well again. Not many good delis in capital district, but Saati is pretty good. Have gone several times for lunch and sandwiches and soup are great, especially their butternut bisque soup. Bread is always fresh for sandwiches. And always enjoy their Thanksgiving to go meals each year. read more

I had an opportunity recently you try something as part of a massive group order by my workplace, with the maximum order allowance of $15. The menu seemed to have a Greek flavour to it although it was ultimately broad, including lox bagel and pastrami sandwich. I went for a hummus bowl with an add-on roasted peppers and eggplant, which came with pita bread and falafel. The eggplant and peppers were juicy and I needed that, because the bowl was on the whole otherwise was on the dry side. The pita bread was partially burnt so I ate about half of it. With the expectation that some steam got lost due to the delay between cooking and consumption, it was a reasonable meal all in all, although I'm not sure if I would go out of my way to seek them out on my own. read more

Went to Saati with a couple friends a few weekends ago and WOW. What a great fast breakfast/lunch spot. It's one of those places you get to decide at the counter: "am I in the mood for breakfast or lunch right now?" And no matter what you decide, you'll be happy. The ordering/seating experience is like that of any establishment where you order, take a number, and then they find you at your table. I was pleasantly surprised at the plating of our sandwiches-- i half expected to be served just on waxed paper (which I would've been fine with). I surprised myself and I ordered breakfast! It was an omelette with za'atar that was served on a grilled English muffin with cream cheese, lettuce and tomato.... It was so good! One of my other dining partners had an egg salad sandwich (which apparently IS something to write home about) and the other had a roast beef sandwich. So 2 days ago we had breakfast here and I reviewed the pros/cons and honestly didn't expect to return but when I told my family about our unsatisfactory breakfast they encouraged us to return for lunch so we picked up a chicken salad sandwich today. It was truly the best chicken salad ever! Ciabatta roll was fresh and the heaping portion of chicken salad was delicious and tasted as though they had just made it! My husband and I split it and it was very filling. He also liked the macaroni salad (I'm not a fan of green peppers in mine). Once again, the place was clean and cashier was pleasant. I recently ordered several greek style dishes to go for my family and they were all wonderful. Saati also caters events for my work so I have had their catering a dozen or more times. LOVED the service I have liked Saati's for lunch or a light dinner for a while. Last weekend we used their catering for the first time. They delivered hot and cold trays at 10:30 am on the hottest day in July to an outdoor venue (Crossings Park in Latham). All trays, utensils, napkins were provided. Even when one item was missing, the driver came back with it before we even realized the lapse. We had a party for 30-40 people of different backgrounds, including toddlers. They took all my information and my credit card. Approximately two hours later at around 6:30 PM the owner called to tell me that they would not be fulfilling my order. They were too busy. I had an expired DoubleTake certificate that was still worth the $10 I paid for it, and even after i pointed this out in the fine print she treated me like I was trying to scam the restaurant. Otherwise, a nice enough place in a pleasant leafy plaza. The menu is an eclectic (hate that word but it applies here) mix of steam table entrees like roast chicken, deli sandwiches (but no subs) and a few middle eastern salads and sides in a cold case. A tall combo sandwich went by and it looked really good. But I had been under the impression it was a middle eastern place so I ordered tabbouleh, chickpea salad and fried eggplant to go. All were well above average, especially the eggplant. The total came to $9.43 and the server glared at me as if daring me to ask her to top it off and get full value for my money. I've been several times for lunch. Tonight I took my spouse for dinner on a Friday. The place was empty, which surprised me. I ordered HERB MARINATED GRILLED CHICKEN BREAST SERVED WITH RICE PILAF AND VEGETABLE OF THE DAY. Not sure it was pilaf. The plate was huge and the portions were actually too much, you will definitely have leftovers. The herb marinated chicken was better, I would order that again, chicken was moist, but clearly a frozen chicken breast. Spouse ordered SPICY CHICKEN- GRILLED CHICKEN SAUTEED IN A FLAVORFUL TOMATO AND RED PEPPER SAUCE ACCENTED WITH MIDDLE EASTERN SPICES SERVED OVER JASMINE WHITE RICE. Again, another loaded dish. A huge thank you to Saati Deli & Catering for their superior service and great tasting food. We were in a pinch and looking for a last minute catered breakfast for staff training of 25. Not only did they go out of their way to take our last minute order (4 pm the day before) but they personally delivered the food although they do not normally deliver this early (8 am). The food arrived hot and was a huge hit for staff. They had eggs, bacon, sausage, fruit and french toast! Plus an amazing batch of breakfast pastries! The food is always so fresh and the quality of their food is always the best! They have a wide variety of menu options for meat eaters like my family, and people who don't eat meat like myself, and vegan people too! I find it difficult to find a restaurant that has a variety of options for vegetarians/vegans but this place has so much to choose from!!
