The owner Mike is a staple in our community who is always finding ways to join forces with local business' as well as holding events like pre -diabetes management, participating in events held in Staten Island with lots of free goodies as well as knowledgeable nurses informing people of vaccines and premeasured medication dispensary packs, that is available for our convenience. This pharmacy reminds me of the old mom and pop stores from back in the day, where the staff knows you by your name and is willing to bend over backwards to make you happy. I've recently moved to NJ but refuse to change pharmacy; because I know I will never find the one-on-one experience I have experienced at Super Health Pharmacy.

I ended up buying just one because I was asked to do so by a friend. They did not scan in the items I wished to purchase and they did not provide a receipt. When I tried confronting them about the markup, they claimed that it was less than what the supplier charged. They added that no one forced me to buy anything and that this was how supply and demand worked. I had actually frequented this pharmacy a few times since it opened (even though there's a RiteAid half a block away) because I prefer to support local businesses. But from now on, I'm sticking to RiteAid.

I needed to get a prescription filled and decided that my local neighborhood mom & pop pharmacy would be the place to go. I walked into this place with a prescription for something to help with constipation. I was told that they did not have the particular prescription in stock. I gave the pharmacy the physician's contact information to discuss an alternative prescription. After about 15 minutes on the phone, the pharmacy came back and presented me 2 options of a generic drug that they carried, one in powdered form for $45 and one in liquid form for $32. I chose the powdered form since it had a better shelf life. As it turns out, they sold me the generic version of MiraLax. For those of you who don't know, MiraLax is an over-the-counter drug that is available at pretty much any pharmacy (think Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens). If I had known the alternative to the prescription was MiraLax, I would have walked 45 seconds down the block to Rite Aid and bought it for $13. But no, that didn't happen. Here's what happened. Instead of doing the decent thing and telling me to go 45 seconds down the block to Rite Aid to buy MiraLax for $13, they sold me the generic stuff for $45. WHAT??? Let's just take a moment to let that sink in for a bit. This pharmacy sold me the GENERIC version of an over-the-counter drug for THREE TIMES THE PRICE of what the brand name drug costs. They didn't think for a moment to tell me I could have walked 45 seconds down the block to buy this stuff at a fraction of the price. That's the kind of pharmacy Pyramids Rx is. They put money before patients. This will be my first and last time using this pharmacy. I thought humanity would learn to help each other in times of crisis. Unfortunately as shown by Pyramids Rx Pharmacy, it was an opportunity to take advantage of a local in need. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.

The…read morecashiers are young, rude, clueless, and act like helping customers is the biggest inconvenience in the world. Half the time they're standing around talking while customers wait forever. The phone service is an absolute joke. You get put on hold for 20-30 minutes just to ask a simple question, and then they come back with an attitude like YOU bothered THEM. The pharmacist acts overwhelmed and disorganized constantly, also a rude dick. Prescriptions are never ready when they say they will be, nobody communicates with each other, and every visit turns into unnecessary stress. What happened to professionalism? This is a pharmacy, not a high school hangout spot. The staff acts annoyed anytime someone asks a question, and the customer service is honestly embarrassing. I've had better experiences at busy chain pharmacies than this so-called "friendly neighborhood pharmacy." Honestly, I'm switching to CVS. It's closer, faster, and at least when employees have attitudes there, management actually steps in and fixes it. Here, the bad attitudes are apparently encouraged because nobody does anything about it. And CVS calls you to tell them they have your medications and then call you when they're ready. Here, you have call them. You wonder why you're losing business? This is exactly why. The ownership changes constantly, employees don't care, and the whole place feels poorly managed. I give this place maybe 3 more years before it either gets sold again or shuts down completely. You'd think they'd read these and take them into account and learn from them, but NO! they think they're doing you a favor. We're right, you're wrong. What do you expect on Staten Island? This is why mom and pop businesses are going under and everyone would rather shop online just not to hear people's attitudes. Keep having this mindset. They're also only kind to you if they know you personally, if they don't know you they don't care. I get a mild low dose benzo, but because this is Staten Island, junkies galore!, they just lump everybody into the same category. As long as your bottle has the orange label on it, you're going to be treated just the same as anyone who picks up Oxycontin. I especially don't have to tell them what my medical diagnosis is. One last thing: imagine dreading having to call this place because the nasty heifer that answers the phone, only a cashier btw, always asks you what you're looking for while smacking her gum. Rude much? I'm looking for your mother, whatever the doctor sent, you got my name, you see the prescriptions, why are you asking me. A joke. She isn't the owner, the pharmacist, and i'm sure i'm not the only one who has complained about her, yet, she's still there. This place will never do better, so don't waste your time. It's a shame. I support small businesses, but unfortunately, a lot of small businesses, especially on Staten Island, don't care. I guess because they're just miserable and arrogant to begin with and feel as if they got it like that and they're entitled to be a jerkoff because they're having a bad day. Imagine if we all did that because they're the only one'sallowed to have a bad day. I've worked in retail, personal stays personal, and most of all, the customer is always right. Do better. but you're not going to. Go to CVS, Walgreens, don't go through nonsense and get upset by these people just to get a medication.

When I called back she was just as clueless when I asked her more questions on getting this taken care of. Another person, a man, then got on the phone & was outright rude. It's unfortunate that my attempt to support small & local business was met with such apathy, but I can see why places like this are going under. It's unfortunate, because the big chains cannot really compare to a family business that's run properly.

I haven't had any problem yet with the digital transfer from my clinic to BBRX Pharmacy. Normally they give small gifts depending on what prescription you are prescribed. Also for each prescription they will give you this prescription receipt sticker ($1 worth) to use in their Pharmacy. They also have an UPS Access Point here which is very convenient for the community!

Have you ever told your doctor after he handed you multiple prescriptions, "I dont need this stuff" Well thats where Lowens comes in, I have been so pleased with the service and they actually get to know you. I mean yea sometimes you have to wait for the drugs they are not as fast as other drug dealers..(wink) (wink) hahaha but they are very competent in knowing whats in stock and telling you if you need to come back on special orders. So even if you have to wait they have snacks or some lottery to play. There are not many places like this left in Bay Ridge or Sunset Park. But to tell you the truth I dont like really being sick or ill. But when it does occur I can rely on Lowens for top shelf care and service in supplying all needed medications.
