Not a bad location. Ambiance was sub-par. I ordered a 3 meet sampler meal which included burnt ends, St. Louis style ribs, and brisket. It included 2 sides of your choice. I chose there poblano Mac and cheese, and white cheddar corn. I also ordered an additional side of smoked cabbage. The brisket was sliced, which I prefer, not shredded. The portions were healthy as well. The biggest problem my wife and I had was there seemed to be a consistent taste of gas throughout everything we ordered. We tried a variety of items from Lucille's BBQ tonight. The best items of the night were the ribs and the cornbread muffins. The brisket was incredibly dry with no flavor and entirely too much fat. When 1/2 the meat is fat, I'm less than impressed. The double smoked ham was a decent country ham, but where the double smoke came in no one knows. The chicken was acceptable, but nothing special. The drunken apples had little to set them apart. The Wilson beans were so spicy that most of those eating declared them a waste. The cheesy potatoes were on par with a basic freezer hashbrown casserole. The brussel sprouts lacked any flavor from the bacon and onion they were supposed to have been cooked with. The redeeming features were a good tasting rib and cornbread muffins to die for. Top all this with a slice of white sandwich bread and this was probably one of my least favorite BBQ experiences. My best piece of advice if you dine here, use the house BBQ sauce, free cups of this made it the best deal of the evening. Edit next day: My dad insisted on going back and getting me the ribs since I didn't actually try those, hoping my opinion would change. Instead a lazy service upset him. Apparently it's not possible to listen to, "I'm ordering A, B, and C. Please bag these as one order as they are going to a separate location. Now please bag this order in a new bag, D, E, F. I'm paying for all of the items together. I asked last night that things be bagged separately, and it didn't happen. Today it's really important because I'm dropping one bag at someone else's house." I managed a restaurant. I'm rather shocked that they're still open with customer service like this. And having tried the ribs, while they were decidedly nothing to get excited about, they certainly weren't worth this kind of hype. read more

As someone else said here, this place is hit or miss. My wife and I like to go here to sit down for good BBQ. The girls who run the front are typically right on it, friendly, helpful, etc. The food is mostly very good. A little expensive but show me anyplace that comes even close to this quality of BBQ in FW. Having said that, since we are fans I ordered for carry out for the first time on Super Bowl Sunday 2019. I ordered a day in advance. When I came in to pick it up the lady at the front desk seemed put out by my very presence when I came in. I blew it off to any of a litany of reasons. I gave her my name and she unceremoniously plopped the three bags down on the counter (I had already paid). I asked if that is everything to which she said, "I don't know, what did you order?" Again, I kept my tongue and told her what I ordered. As I recited my order she just stared at me instead of looking in the bags. I decided to avoid the confrontation altogether and audited the bags myself. I told her it all seemed to be there but there were no sauces. Again, a blank stare. I gently asked with a smile on my face if I should just fill those little cups at the counter myself? She waved her hand dismissively and said, "sauce for what?" This is where I was close to getting mad and I said, "These bags are full of MEAT and this is a BBQ restaurant. You have sauces, right?" One of the usual great ladies came over and asked which sauce I like and she would get me a pint since I had bought so many meats. I got the food home. The rack of ribs was tasty though a little dry. The Rib tips were very good but seemed a little small for the price. The brisket was awful. It was so fatty there was hardly anything to eat and it was EXPENSIVE on top of it. What little meat was there was stringy and tasteless. The orders of cornbread muffins, potato casserole, and brussel sprouts was great, as usual. I got ribs, he got brisket. Hardly any smoke ring in either meat, so flavor was just okay. The brisket did pass the "fold test," though. (Where the slice is folded in half without breaking - which would indicate that the meat is a tad overdone.) We both got brussel sprouts, which were complete mush with no texture left. They tasted like everything was cooked separately and tossed together when done. There was no layering or depth of flavor. The mac and cheese was also just mushy noodles with cheese. I'm only going with four stars due to it took quite some time for our food to come out. But when it did, it was wonderful. There were four at our table and we all tried different items and sides. The ribs that came out were meaty and done very well. I had the half chicken, which was perfectly cooked and very moist. The winner was the brisket. It was so tender and paired perfectly with the house bbq. But the sides were where this place rocked it. Drunken apples had just the right tanginess. The Wilson beans had large chunks of bacon in it. The mac and cheese was so creamy. The cole slaw was perfect. The best for me was the corn. I did feel the sprouts were over cooked for my liking; just a bit too mushy. Our server did a great job with a sense of humor and recommendations for our next visit. All in all, we will be back. read more

Wasn't impressed at all I had Turkey sandwich on a cold bun, same for my husband he had the pulled pork with cold bun. This is not the first establishment to serve cold buns doesn't make since to put hot meat on a cold bun. From out if town so decided to try this place. Atmosphere was decent. A casual bar and grill feel. I ordered the bbq brisket in a wrap and it was good. A little "tougher" than other briskets iv had but seriously thats considering some high bars when it comes to briskets iv had in my time. Paired with their homemade bbq sauce and macaroni as a side. We have been going to Lucille's for a few months now, and the food is very good - when they aren't sold out of what you want! Today was the fifth time in a row that we have gone and they were sold out of the burnt ends. The worst part of all, is that it was only an hour after they opened!! We love to support local businesses as much as possible, but these guys just can't seem to get it together. It also doesn't help that they only have bottled soda. It's nice to be able to get a refill on a fountain drink with your food. If it wasn't for the fact that the food really is good, I would give them one star because it so frustrating that they always run out of stuff! read more

We ordered carry out for 14 people: 2 lbs of pulled chicken and 2lbs of pulled pork, plus coleslaw. When we arrived to pick up our order they informed us that they had mistakenly given our order to someone else, and are sold out of what we ordered. So now we are left to find a quick answer to feed the 14 family members in town sitting back at the house waiting for dinner. They gave us gift cards but I highly doubt we will be going back to ever use them. We'll see read more

Amazing BBQ. Friendly and relaxed. Family focused.

I have read good reviews from others on yelp about this place, so I was excited to try it. First attempt was a Saturday a few weeks ago around 7pm. Sign on the door said no food left. OK. Next weekend I tried on a Sunday, but called first. Same result, was told over the phone no food left. This was around 6pm. Finally I tried on a Wednesday around 6. No ribs or chicken, unless I wanted to wait 45 minutes for them to cook. I just tried the pulled pork nachos instead. What a great portion size. Big and full of toppings for a nice price. Unfortunately they were really cold. The waiter brought a new one, and this was a better temperature. I was also disappointed by the lack of sauce choices. I had read about chipotle raspberry, and Texas, and others. When I was there most bottles of sauce were empty. The house sauce was the only choice at first, a little later a vinegar sauce was also put out. It just seemed like they are a bit overwhelmed right now. Only one waiter for the entire room, which had every table full. Seems a bit unfair to him. I also dislike the fact that you have to pay just to get water, no fountain system. This also means no refills for you soda drinkers. Finally, I did not see anywhere on the menu where there is a sampler or a way to pick two or three items if you want to try different things. Maybe that's because they don't often have the different things on the menu all at once. read more

First time ordering from here for a large pick up for an office meeting. The person on the phone was rude and short. our order was messed up and when we called back to tell them, the same person was rude again. apparently you are suppose to pack your own bar b que sauce from their bar b que sauce bar for your take out order...didn't know that so we didn't have any with our order....hey maybe you should be nice and tell people that and not act like we are idiots for not knowing that. food is good but they were out of some things. Not impressed, will not likely call them again or go there due to rudeness. read more

Really good bbq! Everything we had was delicious and the bbq bar was so creative and added an extra element to our meal. The only thing That was negative was they ran out of several food items on the menu. But for a Saturday night at 7:30, that's to be expected! We will be back again! read more

Doesn't do well at accommodating groups. Doesn't take reservations. Large family must sit at multiple tables and they won't allow you to move the tables. Sad a lot of restaurants are like this. read more

Heard great things about this place and decided to try it. First off, the place was filthy. Trash on the floor and dried BBQ sauce on the table because it had not been wiped down. They were out of most things I wanted to try, which is understandable for a BBQ place, but even the selection of soda was diminished. The food took forever to get. People sat down 15 minutes after us and left before we even got our food. We only got our food when we asked what was taking so long and there was no apology. The server was too busy playing on his phone. When the food came, I have to say the side dishes were great, but my brisket was luke warm at best. So being from the Southeast I have had my share of good and great BBQ. This is mediocre at best, but the selection of sauces were great. We ordered the brisket plate, the brisket nachos and kids mac & cheese. The menu does not tell you that it is poblano mac & cheese so if you have a picky 3 yo then beware. The serving of brisket for the price was ridiculous. It was cut in thin strips, compared to every BBQ restaurant I have been to and had a lot of fat as did the brisket in the nachos. The nachos are big enough to feed about 3-4 ppl, but hope not all of them like brisket because there was not much in the nachos. The side of baked beans and cole slaw were adequate. They only have bottled tea, wait what was that????? A BBQ restaurant that does not brew there own tea and does not offer it sweetened or unsweetened?!?!?! Must be a southern thing, but you should make your own tea, pretty sure it will not put a huge dent in the bottom line. The kids menus should be kid friendly. People with toddlers need to be aware that the kids menus can be a bit challenging for the finicky child. Overall it was ok but will not be going back the food just wasn't that good. read more

Ordered from Lucille's through waiter on the way, have ordered before and gone there a couple of times, but pretty far from home. Well I guess the owners had a wedding to attend the last time we ordered and it was not good. Ordered the brisket platter with smoked cabbage, well the brisket was so overcooked or old that you had to scoop it out with a spoon and the cabbage was complete mush. The pulled pork was pretty good, however the pablano mac and cheese was so dry and pasty I think it had been sitting around all day. I called to register my complaint and was told the owners were not there but they would call me as soon as they were back in. Well this didn't happened, I finally called about 2 weeks ago to speak to an owner and was told they were very sorry and would send me a gift card, well that hasn't happened so I guess we won't be going back and we won't be telling all our friends about how good they are or can be. I also saw great reviews on yelp. Yikes. I went with 4 other people around 4:00 p.m. tonight. Of course we wanted to try the ribs everyone is raving about. They only have about 10 tables in total. 1st off, they only serve beverages in bottles, coke products. The only water is also bottled. I ordered an ice tea. They brought me a bottle and I asked for a cup of ice. THEY DON'T have ice. The sides came in a styrofoam cup. Literally they measure about one cup. The cheesy potatoes hardly had any cheese. The rib sauces had 3 different flavors. I tried the Texas BBQ flavor. Yuck. The ribs were thick and meaty. They tasted just like HAM. What is it with using a brine on pork. I had the 1/4 slab with 2 sides ($12.85.) It was a 30 minute drive for me, I only tried it because of the reviews. I will never go back. There are other great rib places in Fort Wayne. This was not worth the trip. read more
