ACME by Full Circle (east State Street) - returned to try the Legalize Marinara recipes after a long absence It's been a while since I'm been back to the ACME for pizza. The last time we did...ACME had partnered with Legalize Marinara to make pizzas for them. The menu looks like LM's recipes (see picture of menu). The pizza had a familiar taste. Though, the pizza I had was a bit different. Before I get to the pizza...let me say that Joslin did an incredible job serving us. She had great suggestions. She hustled the refills. She was personable and funny. Great representative for ACME!! Also...I had to try the smoked Cole slaw - it intrigued me! The fresh cabbage pieces were large and purple. They tended to be a bit tougher. The mayo sauce had a nice seasoning - possible dry rub. This created some kick and saltiness. The smoke flavor was evident but not overwhelming. Nice dish! We ordered a 16" ACME Deluxe thin crust pizza cut into large square pieces. I didn't know that you could get a thin crust and square pieces - so we tried it. Last time we got a hand tossed - different taste. The pizza crust was fairly thin and a bit crisp - but not crunchy. While the picture might suggest that it was slightly over cooked...it was actually okay. The crust was a fairly plain flour crust - no extra taste. The pizza sauce is really tasty. I liked the thicker consistency and bolder tomato flavor. No spicy after taste. Good Italian seasoning. The sauce did a nice job accenting the toppings. There were plenty of fresh toppings covered with a thinner bed of mozzarella. The meat taste wasn't very prevalent - maybe could have used more meat. Everything seemed to blend well. You do pick up a heavier salt taste. Cold Pizza Test - ACME's pizza was pretty good the next day. The crispier crust stayed crispy without being tough/chewy. The pizza sauce stepped forward - the tomato taste really started to come out. The toppings still blended well. The salty taste seemed to get stronger. read more

After all the local hoopla about this joint...our experience sucked. First and primary issue? Service. This is what brought a 3.1 food to an 1 overall experience. We were greeted by a teenager with a major attitude. She shoved us toward a table and said you will sit here and then disappeared for 30 min. She's probably the niece of the owner or has a connection of some sort that's forcing her to work there because she looked pissed to be there. We did notice the rest of the waitresses were very nice. When we were ordering, my husband wanted the pork tenderloin, and the young lady asked if he wanted the lunch tenderloin (which was smaller) and immediately complained about people yelling at her because they didn't understand the difference between the two and went off. My poor man tried to be nice and said he wanted the larger one. It was so uncomfortable. Anyway, we ordered the fried mushrooms, obviously frozen. Indiana has many small excellent local places with FRESH fried mushrooms. Then followed some supbar smoked wings (although cooked decently) and my husband thought his pork tenderloin was 5/10. My husband and I went to Acme on February 13,2025. Hadn't been there since Salvatori's took it over. We got the taco pizza. It was phenomenal! So I was craving it again tonight, 02/19/2025 and wanted to try something different. Tried the Bahn Mi pulled pork sandwich. Extremely disappointed, flavors were top notch, but for $17 I would expect a little pulled pork. There were maybe 3 pieces of pork, had there been some to taste, I feel like this sandwich would be killer. My husband tried the Muffaletta, it would have been great had there been olive salad on it. The three bites that had olive salad were amazing. Seriously for the price, fix this! I would have paid double for some meat on there. Tonight, my son Timothy, his mother, and I visited Acme by Full Circle on East State Boulevard in Fort Wayne. Even though I've lived here for over 30 years, this was my first visit--and it was a fantastic experience. Owned by Tim and Amy, the place blends its rich history dating back to 1941 with a fresh, welcoming vibe. We enjoyed a meat lover's pizza with extra cheese on a thin crust, and they even let us choose whether we wanted it cut into squares or slices. Timothy's mother opted for a child's portion of the pulled pork sandwich, which they were happy to accommodate. It was more than enough for her--tender, flavorful, and served with crispy fries and a tasty BBQ sauce on the side. We also shared some creamy mac and cheese, which was delicious, though it could have been a bit hotter. It was wing night, and we couldn't resist trying their smoked wings at just a dollar each. Owner Tim has truly become a PIT MASTER--the wings were perfectly smoked and packed with flavor. The atmosphere was rustic yet clean, with a family-friendly area and a full-service bar. They offer both Pepsi products (fountain) and Coca-Cola products (cans/bottles), along with a fantastic selection of appetizers like loaded fries, fried pickles, mozzarella sticks, beer-battered onion rings, fried mushrooms, and duck wontons. The entrées menu is just as impressive, featuring items like the Acme Burger, onion sliders, pulled pork sandwiches, spicy chicken sandwiches, wing baskets, brisket mac, pork mac, nachos, meaty tacos, and of course, RIBS!! DO NOT COME HERE IF YOU ARE GLUTEN FREE OR HAVE DIETARY RESTRICTIONS. MANAGEMENT DOES NOT CARE. My family and I had an extremely disappointing experience at ACME tonight. My husband is not celiac BUT he has a very strong, painful intolerance to gluten. He ordered the GF chicken bacon ranch pizza. When the pizza came out, the food runner said "Here is the gluten free pizza." Halfway through my husband eating it, our regular server came out and said his order was mixed up and he got a regular pizza. She said the gluten free only comes in 10 inches, and the one we had was 14. We didn't notice because it looked like the GF pizzas we have gotten there before. We also thought that the GF was 12 inches, so it didn't ring any alarm bells. We were pretty upset when they said they gave us the wrong order, especially considering we waited quite a while for service and food already. My husband had eaten half of it, so he will be sick for the next few days. The waitress, was apologetic and doing her best (she wasn't the one who actually brought it out, and she said they were short staffed). She then brought out the real GF pizza and we boxed it up. When we got the bill, the pizza was on it, so we had to ask for it to be comped, which the waitress thankfully agreed to. This is when it gets unbelievable. When the waitress was talking to us, she said that back in the kitchen they said "the customer should know that gluten free only comes in 10 inches and that clearly wasn't the gluten free one!" I'm sorry, that is ridiculous. If YOU bring out the wrong food it is YOUR responsibility. I have worked in many restaurants and this is just common sense. I would NEVER blame the customer if I brought them the wrong food, especially if it looks the same as what they ordered. My husband asked for the manager, and he never came out, so he had to go find him in the back of the restaurant. My husband explained to the manager that he is going to be sick for days because of the pizza they served, and the manager said, "Well, I'm not the one who served it to you." The manager then said, "You should've known by the size of the pizza that it was not gluten free." He never apologized, but instead acted completely cavalier and didn't look like he gave a sh*t. I am absolutely astonished and appalled at how any restaurant could blame the customer for this kind of mistake. As someone who has worked at great restaurants with excellent management, this is simply NOT how you treat a customer if you want business. We will not be coming back. It's not even the money that we're angry about, it's the terrible management. We are concerned about anyone visiting here with dietary restrictions or allergies. I have a life-threatening shellfish allergy, and if a restaurant like this gave me shellfish, I could be dead. Please think twice about coming here. We stopped by ACME this week, and had a very enjoyable time. This was only my second time visiting, but both times I had a great experience. I've driven by the location so many times in the last 40 years, but hadn't stopped until recently. Restaurant is nice on the inside. Seems like there's 3 different sections of the restaurant. I had a Philly cheesesteak of some type. It had steak, cheese, peppers, and mushrooms on it. Not an overly large sandwich, but man was it packed with flavor! I thoroughly enjoyed it. My boss had a muffalata? sandwich, and he said it was amazing too, and he's hard to please. I had Mac & cheese as my side, and it was really good. I'm not a connoisseur of Mac and cheese, but I truly did enjoy it. My boss had their smoked cole slaw by recommendation of the waitress. He did not like the first bite. I ended up eating it. At first bite, it was odd tasting. Smoked and a pink color. Interesting thing was, I couldn't stop eating it until it was gone. Like I said, odd taste, but I finished it, and would eat it again. We had a sweet tooth that day, so when the waitress asked if we'd like dessert, we inquired what they had. She told us New York style cheesecake, peach cobbler cheesecake, cinnamon roll cheesecake, and Oreo cheesecake. We had the peach cobbler and Oreo cheesecakes. Wow. I believe they make them themselves, and they were fabulous. Prices are a few dollars more than I would expect, but the flavor makes it worth it. Our waitress was friendly but was very busy due to her having way too many tables by herself. The salad bar was way smaller than it looked on Facebook. Limited toppings. Would have liked to see pepperchinis, olives, and more cheese on the salad bar. I like pizza huts better. The wings were extra crispy and delicious, but the spicy parmesan garlic sauce was not good. I ordered the crack chicken sandwich (buttery tender bun, creamy flavorful chicken, crunchy cole slaw on top), fries (incredible flavor), and mac & cheese (I wanted to melt after the first bite) as a carry out order. It was so easy to drive up in the back, run in, and pick up my order, which was ready in no time. I hadn't eaten at Acme since its rebirth after Covid, and this meal was incredible. We stopped in for lunch. I tried to keep an open mind- I really did. I was a frequent visitor to the OG Acme pre-pandemic. I loved it & hoped the new owners kept some of that. We ordered the appetizer wings with a cup of hot Buffalo sauce and a cup of garlic Parmesan. The wings were very crunchy. Like cremated. The Buffalo sauce tasted like Frank's red hot and the garlic Parmesan was literally melted butter with some parm settled on the bottom of the bowl. 3/10 I ordered the $9.50 Cobb salad. It was rather petite for nine bucks. It was romaine lettuce topped with chopped tomatoes, green onions, & hard boiled eggs. These ingredients were fine. The prob for me was the chicken breast, bacon & avocado. For a place that's bragging rights come from it's smoked & bbq'd meats, why would you choose to use purchased, Tyson-type chicken breast with the fake grill marks? Use the chicken breast off the smoker. No brained. Also the bacon is chewy bacon out of a bag. Again, fry it crispy yourself. The avocado consisted on 1.5 slivers. Meh. The chipotle ranch dressing definitely came from a bottle. All in all, just mediocre. 3/10 My boyfriend ordered the Acme burger medium with a side of fries. The burger is a thick patty with good amount of toppings. Too many onions. The burger was well done though. Nothing special here. 2/10 read more

Could have been just a bad night for the Acme. We ordered the pulled pork tacos which had no flavor except for the onions and our second item was the cheese and sausage roll. Received the tacos in a reasonable amount of time but was informed that the roll would be out shortly, then there was a problem and the order would have to be remade. I had finished my order and then we were told that the second order was given to another customer. The waitress was great thru the whole ordeal and offered a replacement of cheese soup and fries. We were ecstatic when Acme reopened last fall. The food was good, a bit pricey, but we hoped it would evolve more into what Acme used to be. Sadly, this has not happened. The original pizza we loved was the Italian Brisket and Peppers, but each time we've had it it has less cheese and toppings. The last time we had maybe 8 tiny bits of mystery meat and very few peppers. We won't be ordering that again. Here's what needs to happen: bring back the old menu, including the smoked brisket and wings--which were better than the current offerings. The prices are too high for bbq that is, frankly, far from the best in town. Bring back the Acme we all knew and loved, and you'll see business pick up. read more

A bbq place that has a vegan menu? Say what? Yes it is true. Their vegan tacos and nachos are so nicely seasoned using homemade seitan, green onions, cabbage, and kimchi. Great owner with an open mind and creativeness. Portions are HUGE! Love this place. read more

I'd say that this is a really solid BBQ place! It's located in the 2Toms Brewery, but we got our food for takeout. Owners were incredibly nice and food was ready in a timely manner. We tried the spent grain bread sticks, ribs, pulled pork, tots, and Mac n cheese. The ribs and pork were fantastic! So so good and not dry at all. The tots were nothing special, but the Mac n cheese was incredible! The bread sticks kind of caught me by surprise. At first I wasn't a fan but they grew on me. The bread is awesome but they do have this sweet mesquite/bbq seasoning on top that can catch you by surprise. The beer cheese was good as a dip but I don't know if I would get it as a soup because of how thick it is. Definitely worth a try! read more

Late brunch this past Sunday in bar area. Both had pizzas which came out "wet" on bottom! Tried to pick up a pice and the topping slide off as the crust slid thru our fingers! We hired Acme by Full Circle to cater a business dinner at The Paper Mill. We had 70 guests. We ordered the 1/2 Gut Buster and the food was incredible. Everyone raved about how good it was. We also had cheesecake bites for dessert and they were amazing! The service was great, the staff was friendly and very courteous. I had seen Acme spotlighted on the news a couple of times and tried to go during Taste on Saturday nights but the parking lot was overflowing each time. Finally was able to try it a couple of weeks ago on a Saturday afternoon. We sat at a table in the bar and had a good experience. I ordered the smoked chicken wings with blueberry chipotle? sauce. The wings were crispy and had good flavor from the smoke. The sauce was really good if you like the sweet contrast on your wings. The French fries were crispy! My wife ordered the taco sampler and enjoyed it. I had a bite of the meat from each taco and would eat them myself. We'll definitely be back to try other items on the menu. read more

My wife wrote this review: Wing Quest - Week 14: This could be our fastest review of any restaurant---EVER! Today we visited ACME by Full Circle. 'NUFF SAID? We really couldn't stop the post at that because this magnificent neighborhood eatery deserves a true and detailed review. ACME has long been known for it's food & service with an atmosphere of taverns belonging to a bygone era. Although this place had been closed, then sold and reopened, the present owners didn't change what had attracted patrons over the years. They just made the menu a little more inclusive and a little better (if that was possible). The ACME serves robust sandwiches and burgers, salads, soups, sides, plated fare, pizza that's good enough to take on any and all contenders, rolls, and smoked meats. On this visit we fixed our attention on the wings, of course. They are of medium size, equipped with enough muscle to sink your teeth into, and smoked to tender-but-crisp perfection. They are the kind of wings that have been rendered of their fat with bones willing to release the meat without incident. In our humble opinions, meaty medium wings outclass jumbo wings any day for reasons we have eluded to in our previous critiques. One can order 8 wings for $14.00 from the regular menu or 6 wings w/fries for $10.00 from the Lunch Specials menu. All wing orders include carrot & celery sticks with your choice of ranch or blue cheese dipping sauce. There is a wide variety of wing/bbq sauces to choose from but you may only choose one sauce per order of wings. We tried Hot Honey Spice on one order and Hot Buffalo on the other. In the Hot Honey Spice one can taste a delicate Asian element, (Perhaps a bit of garlic and ginger?) The Hot Buffalo is unlike any Buffalo sauce we've tasted. I wasn't able to discern what seasoning or spices were responsible for the unique flavor difference but I can tell you it's pretty darned good! Neither of those sauces are intense in spice-induced heat but we would advise heat-sensitive diners to choose the Blueberry, mild BBQ, or any other of the milder options. We were feeling satisfyingly full with one wing to go on each plate but there was no way we could bring ourselves to leave even one of those jewels behind. Whether you're tastebuds are crying out for pizza, tenderloins, ribs, brisket, wings or just something different and good, do your tastebuds a favor and walk them through the door of the ACME by Full Circle. FYI: Off-street parking is available. ACME has a barroom and a dining room offering full bar service and an array of interesting as unusual soft drinks, juices, and flavored milks. Ive lived in the area since I was a baby (literally a 3 min walk from the restaurant) and acme has been a meeting place staple in the neighborhood which I love. But they just started brunch and oh my god the wait for food is sort of bonkers, but I can understand due to the kitchen learning a new menu. The Bloody Mary promised a chicken wing and brisket but mine was topped with a lemon and a lime ? Maybe I just ordered it wrong who knows but for 13$ a salsa flavored vodka drink with olives is wild. I did get a cafe acme (coffee with liquor) and omg did it get me a lil drunk. The server was very sweet and took some drinks off the bill for the wait but in reality we waited over an hour. The food was great! The loaded brunch pizza was good, I loved the brunch burger as well but it had a sweetness to it that I wish was balanced by some heat, overall pretty good. The biscuits and gravy had a great peppery flavor and reminded me of my parents homemade version. The sweet potato fries were sweet potato fries. I devoured. I think after a few months this would be a great brunch spot for on the go but if you come for brunch plan an hour or so ahead :). read more

We have been to Acme many times and we have enjoyed the food. However, we went there for the last time last night. We just popped in for a beer on our way to a party and ordered two Hopslams. When we went to pay, our bill was 22 dollars! We asked our waitress if there was a mistake, and she said "Oh, no, Hopslam is very expensive and also there is a surcharge for pints." With our tip, we paid nearly 30$ for two beers! It was outrageous. At the very least, the waitress should have warned us--we've ordered many beers in many places, and we've never had an experience like this. Sorry, Acme, your beer prices are out of our league. read more

Wow, pricey! Wanted nachos but they were going to be 18 bucks. Thanks, I'll pass. Ended up getting the Cobb salad because the price seemed reasonable. But the portion was rather small. It was just ok. The bacon was as hard as a rock and it clearly came out of a bag. I was expecting more of a diner but it seems like they are making it more of a bbq place. read more

This place is inside 2 Toms Brewery, but don't worry...it's kid friendly. Went on a Friday night, and the brewery is clean and modern...a really neat place. You order from the bar, but someone will bring your food out to you...eventually. Since it is a BBQ place, I opted for a BBQ dinner with 2 sides. I ordered pulled chicken called "crack chicken", buffalo wings, self-proclaimed famous Mac & Cheese, and coleslaw. The place was somewhere between half full and two-thirds full of people. I say that because the food took about 45 minutes. It didn't bother me so much until the food came out without the "famous mac & cheese". They told me it would be an additional 30 minutes for more. Hello...I just waited 45 minutes for this! I was leaning toward tater tots for a replacement, but they said 10 minutes on tater tots. Really, 10 minutes for tots?! I chose the vegan potato salad just to try it. The coleslaw had great flavor, and I would get it again. The potato salad had a very unique taste to it, and it was good...but I will leave it for the vegans. The wings were moist & crispy, but very small and zero buffalo flavor on them. A huge disappointment for being a BBQ place. I was excited to try the crack chicken. However, it was even bigger of a disappointment. It was just a pile of dry chicken that tasted like it had pepper on it. It would've been better had I been offered some BBQ sauce to make this dry chicken more tolerable. Nobody ever checks on your food, so I guess you would have to go back to the bar if you have a problem. I will probably not order the food again. Maybe go to Mission BBQ for food, then hit up the brewery for beer. Let me be clear, 2 Toms is great, it's the Full-Circle BBQ that is not. read more
