    Brisket Sandwich and Potato casserole.

Arrived around 1:30pm on a Monday. Place looked clean. It was slightly busy. My friend and I seated ourselves at the bar and were given menus. Our drink orders were promptly taken. We needed a few minutes to look over the menu. A few minutes later my friend ordered the Brisket lunch special with the Potato Casserole for the side. I ordered the 5 piece wings lunch special with a side of Apple Pie Baked Beans. The wait was not long at all! Not even 5 minutes. My wings and baked beans were on par. I ordered original BBQ sauce, but tried one with a little hot on it. It was tasty. Might try them all hot next time. My friend said his meal was good, but the Brisket was really fatty and the bacon in the Potato Casserole was like ground bacon and not pieces. I enjoyed my meal, and for the most part so did my friend.

Outstanding BBQ, but stupid expensive... We stopped into the SW SiP for lunch on a Friday... First time at this location. It's the exact same as the one on Maplecrest - Chill atmosphere, cool look, and very clean feel. The service was great (it always is) and fast... We had our food within 10 minutes of ordering. The food was yet again ridiculously good (the BBQ is awesome, no doubt about it), but for the love of God and Baby Jesus, it's expensive... $35 w/ tip for lunch. I don't care how good your food is, restaurants have got to figure out "fair and reasonable" prices again for customers - COVID and economy excuses have to stop. There's no reason why anyone should pay $35 for lunch (hence the 4 stars, instead of 5)... Food for thought, SiP

So happy to leave a review for a location that is most welcome! The inside will be the ideal location for group gatherings and social functions. The inside is spacious and the staff is attentive and friendly. The ordering station is situated right by the door for expedited ordering. The menus are large for easy reading and take away menus are available at check out. Mad Anthony is served in the bar with the wall of Mugs. Seating also available in the bar and at the bar top. The outdoor space has great potential with ample seating. The sidewalk along Illinois/14 allows walking access for the surrounding neighborhoods. We're happy to welcome you!

Great food and nice suze portions. Ordering online is nice as well, and the food is always hot.

    BBQ Nachos w/Pulled Pork

The atmosphere was very nice and really clean! Everyone was really pleasant and friendly. And the food was amazing!! We had a half order of nachos with pulled pork and they were so good! The pork was tasty and juicy. And the chips were crunchy and had a nice spice to them. And I had the brisket with 2 sides. The brisket was so juicy and melted in my mouth! Some of the best brisket I've ever had! And the Apple Pie Baked Beans were really good! Just enough sweetness with really good bbq flavor! I will definitely come back whenever I'm in town!

This review gets two stars because everything I ordered was delivered (doordashed) and for once the spoon bread was moist, piping hot and delicious which is unusual as it's often dried out or like they scraped the bottom of the pan. I don't know why, but every year or so I give this place another chance but I think this will be the last time. I got the rib and 1 meat dinner, opted for the pulled pork. The ribs had very little meat and was dried out to the point of being inedible. The pork was weirdly clumped (smooshed) together and dried out. Not even the bbq sauce could save it. The cole slaw smelled old, tasted old. Just yuck.

So happy that we stopped in for a quick barbecue lunch! My husband and I both got the pulled pork sandwich with fries, and added a side of Mac n cheese and jalapeño poppers (which were on special today!) Everything was delicious! The pork had a kick to it, and the Mac n cheese was pretty spicy. The poppers were, of course, very spicy! They gave very generous servings of fries. They have three types of barbecue sauce on the table: hot, original, and tangy. The original was my sauce of choice! Everything was very clean and they were adhering well to COVID precautions. Serena and E were great, they were kind, helpful, and quick!

I think the food is gross. However, the building is extremely nice. I just wish the menu would match the venue.

She made great recommendations and helped us decide based on our time constraints. She was attentive and gave us a lot of information about the food, live music, DJ and art for sale on all the walls. We weren't super hungry, so we tried the flatbread - sooo good. I will be back because the whole menu, including the drinks, sound wonderful. They offered zero spirit, GL and other substitutions if needed which is nice. The atmosphere has a moody, darker hang out vibe to it. I loved it and can't wait to bring some friends and family back! She recommended reservations on the weekends, especially on "First Fridays" as that's when they do events and an art crawl on Broadway when the weather is nice. We parked on the street in front of the building so I'm not sure if there is a parking lot. They do have outdoor seating as well in the front of the building. I remember when this location was a food co-op waaaaaaay back in the day. They did a great job transforming it into a relaxing bar and restaurant. We will go back and I highly recommend you check it out!

But then you're presented with this shiny chandelier, illuminating this wide chamber, and hovering over a smooth, curved bar. The sides of this huge dining space are lined with dining tables, and walls lined with artwork, making the name quite appropriate. Subtle haloes of light dot the ceiling, and the color palette of the place (besides that big ol' chandelier) is dark, cool, and easy on the eyes. I took a seat at the main bar and was served within minutes. I enjoyed some light pop, rap, and classic rock tunes bumping in the background while I sipped on a delightful Smoked Apple Reserve. Every sip was a punch of sweetness, followed by an air of smokiness, and just a splash of herby aftertaste. It was however, not the kind of drink you could chug, so I sipped slowly throughout my meal. I'll have to come back for the appetizers, as I hear they're the star of the show, but neither the flatbreads nor the traditional bar-fare excited me. Thanks to Yelp though, I learned of the Blueberry and Brie Grilled Cheese, which I'd initially dismissed due to my dislike of Brie - the cheese and her portrayal of Captain Marvel, let's be honest. But I gave it a chance and ~woah~ it was something else. First of all, it's a perfectly cooked grilled cheese, with a flaky, crunchy exterior and addictingly cheesy inside, however I was ~taken aback~ by the flavor. I think I honestly had a Ratatouille moment, where that flavor of berry compote transported me to my childhood, chowing down on blueberry pancakes on Friday morning before school. At the same time, it doesn't dominate the flavor profile - it adds a subtle and satisfying sweetness to the creamy richness of the melted Brie, and it does it oh so well. The plentiful pieces of proscuitto provided some palatable protein, while also being a contrast in flavor and feel to the Berry and Brie. The fries were a little heavy on the straight potato flavor and not so much on seasoning and salt, but some garlic aioli did the trick there. The service was superb and the atmosphere was nothing like I've experienced in this city. I didn't expect to love this place as much as I did, but I can't wait to come back to try more apps, drinks, and return to that beautiful blueberry and brie...

The bartender was kind and polite and quick with the service. There were only about three or four tables with people, let them during the course of my time. A few other folks came and sat at the bar. I heard it a side salad with salmon and it came out to me pretty quickly. The flavor was delicious, the salmon, well cooked, and the apple vinaigrette dressing on the salad was delightful. The biggest challenge, was a table with a few children sitting at it. This is no fault of the restaurant, and really, not even the result of my four-star rating. This is merely a statement: if your children are misbehaving and screaming and banging things on the table while other people are trying to eat their dinner, then perhaps the best option is to remove the children from the restaurant. It's always surprising to me when parents are selfish and subject everyone else in the vicinity around them to the poor behavior of their children. As a parent myself, I would never do that to other people. When you go out to a nice restaurant, you want to relax and enjoy the time not listen to tantrums from a three year old. Even the bartender in the servers were frustrated with this table. Some people even walked out after sitting down when they realize that unbelievable noise is coming from one table. Ok, soapbox time is over. Support the summit grill kitchen.

Summit Grill Kitchen & Cocktails - jumbo onion rings and supreme pizza…read more I love onion rings so I had to try the "jumbo onion rings" on the appetizer menu. It was the least expensive appetizer option at $12...and the "jumbo" sounded attractive. So why not? The rings are "jumbo"-lly bigger than most others offer. The ring is made from a large onion. The onion piece was rather thin. I was expecting a "thicker" piece - perhaps two layers thick given the size of the ring. The onion was sweeter and mild. The batter was very thin, flakey and a touch oily. It has a nice seasoning to go along with the chipotle sauce. Definitely worth a try if you like onion rings. The crust is a hand tossed style and baked to a soft crispy crust. It has a slightly sweet flavor with a mild flour taste. The sauce was not very prominent to the flavor - mild tomato sauce taste. The sauce was hidden by the pile of fresh toppings. There was a nice amount of delicious mozzarella cheese to hold the toppings together and give it a moist pizza flavor. Cold Pizza Test - the pizza was still soft and moist 24 hours later. It seems like the ingredients "marinated" and enhance the Italian flavors. The mozzarella cheese flavors tended to "pop" more. Delicious cold pizza! Overall a pizza. Dinning in is a nice experience. Beautiful facility. Casual and relaxed...though it's pretty loud. Professional and friendly service.
