    Pulled pork wrap with beans.

We've been many times to Lucille's. Our family favorites are the Wilson baked beans, pulled pork, burgers, brisket, and cornbread. Many sauces are available to choose from and the staff has always been friendly.

Sides were great and the portions were amazing. Was disappointed with the availability of only one server, but food came out fast. We enjoyed trying all the different BBQ sauces and I think my favorites were the vinegar and the raspberry sauces. Would have preferred the burnt ends but they were out. Would come back for the Mac and cheese and Brussels sprouts - so good.

Texas Two-Step taco - brisket and jalepeno sausage with cilantro and onion

I was in Fort Wayne for work and as I searched for BBQ, I found Lucille's. I am a sauce-aholic and when I saw a sauce bar, Lucille's became must try. I also noticed Lucille's brewed their own sweet tea. And Lucille's put the SWEET in Sweet Tea, just like it should be. None of this Midwest very lightly sweetened barely unsweet sweet tea. Lucille's sweet tea made this Bama Boy jump for joy. One thing I didn't like when I saw Lucille's menu was $37 for a 2 meat combo. I was like no way...there has to be a work around. My work around was to order a pulled pork plate and then the Texas Two-Step taco. The Texas Two Step taco came with brisket and jalepeno sausage. It was a brilliant idea for a much cheaper cost than a meat combo plate. The pulled pork and brisket was fantastic but the jalepeno sausage really stood out to me. This might be the best sausage I've had. The pulled pork and brisket is elite and the sausage is in the best of all time category. For my sides, I picked the mac and cheese and beans. Both were phenomenal choices. The mac and cheese was creamy and made with possibly monterrey jack and smoked poblanos. The beans were spicy, tomatoey, thick, and had pieces of brisket in it. The waitress said they were famous and I know why now. There are several sauces. Here is a quick rundown - house (mild sweet tomato base), spicy (house but spicy), Texas (bold and seemed to have a cinnamon taste), mustard, and sweet and spicy (conglomeration and the hottest of all the sauces). My two favorites were the mustard and the sweet and spicy. The sweet and spicy had so much going on and I think Chipotle Tabasco was one of the ingredients. But it turned out being the one I couldn't get enough of. Lucille's is deserving of a 5-star. It is the closest to Texas BBQ I've found in the Midwest. It is not for everyone because it seems like everything is spicy here. It was all great but I loved the sweet tea and sausage the most.

Finger licking, delicious bbq food...so good you want to slap yo mama. JK...respect yo mom. Good sized portions. This is a belly bomber! Lots of bbq sauces to choose from. Service was exceptional. Ambiance was laid back/welcoming. For anyone from the West Coast, this spot is not like that Lucille's Smokehouse BBQ chain. This is family owned and 100x better. MY FAVES: beef brisket, burnt ends, grilled chicken wings, cheddar jalapeño sausage pieces, and mashed potatoes. Brisket was smoked, well seasoned and tender. Burnt ends were smoked to perfection and crispy. Chicken wings had a beautiful grilled char and seasoned well. Cheddar jalapeño sausage pieces were so tender and flavorful. Mashed potatoes were garlic-y and well seasoned. Pulled pork, mac and cheese, brussel sprouts and corn bread were ok. PROS: bbq sauce bar (try them all!), generous portions, and can pay your bill via QR code on the receipt. CONS: N/A

Husband wanted to come here tonight. The service was short n pleasant. Our server left as soon as she dropped the order off. I had the 2 tacos with brisket, avocado, cilantro n smoky sour cream. Uuuh I had to ask for jalapeno ranch to pour on these BLAND $4 apiece tacos. Yes, $4 apiece?!! I had a cream corn side and broccoli salad. EACH SIDE is $5 !!!! That corn was tasty, broccoli salad was just okay. Please cut that stuff up. It's hard to cut with a plastic fork. Husband liked his burnt ends.He liked the corn n mashed potatoes. Lucky him. For the price and size of meat servings was disappointing. They no longer have french fries. Booooo. Lol The carryout was brisk. The place was clean . Service from the other woman was polite. Would we go back? Well I may try something else again cause my dinner was kinda a flop. He ate all of his sooo. You all enjoy.

Came for lunch today and I will forever shout this place's name from the rooftops. Hands down the BEST BBQ in the area. Maybe even the midwest. Easily competes with those down south. Hands down one of my favorite restaurants. On this specific visit I got a bowl with brisket, beans, and mac n cheese. All bowls also come with corn bread, bbq sauce, and coleslaw. Everything is always so fresh and so good. Unfortunately, they were out of 2 of the options I originally wanted in my bowl, but they gave me 2 additional sides on top of everything in my bowl for free to make up for it. You cannot go wrong with anything you order here. All of the sauces are also phenomenal. Service here is so great. Restaurant is clean and authentic. This is a great establishment that is well run. They are huge supporters of the community and also huge supporters of first responders. They even offer a discount! This is a must visit if you haven't been before.

A pint of baked beans for $17 not a stitch of meat in it, usually has pork & sausage NOTHING...I was pissed and will NEVER go there again.

Baked beans had no Meat in it at all for $17 I was highly disappointed and won't be returning, usually has pork & sausage. $17 for this I wouldn't recommend not worth it...I was livid

    Full slab of ribs

**FORT WAYNE: BEST BBQ** I think I found a new BBQ place that overtakes Shigs in Pits as the best BBQ ribs in Fort Wayne. I have always been a fan of the other BBQ restaurant because of the BBQ sauces and smoky flavors, however, I have found that Shigs has been a bit on the dry side lately. Then during the Covid pandemic, Lucille's had a special on a full slab of ribs. I was thinking that I needed to get two in order to feed the family, but WOAH was I surprised how large a slab of ribs was. The BBQ sauce they use to marinate it is too hard to describe in words. It is so flavorful and clearly has bits of spices still stuck on it. The meat itself is juice and the smoke rings are perfect. Top it off, they have even more BBQ sauce than Shigs. My favorite was the blueberry BBQ sauce. It was finger linking good. It was so good that I went back 3 times that week.

Can be a bit noisy, when tables of patrons forget they're not the only guests in the room, but not to the level that drowns out your own table conversation. Service is usually impeccable and Kiersten (our server the past 2 visits) exemplifies that: knowledgeable, attentive but not intrusive, kind, efficient, pleasant. Hubby had the not-your-ordinary wedge salad as a starter (pictured). Bacon, tomato, bleu cheese crumbles, hard boiled egg, and a creamy balsamic dressing. Very tasty! Me, always a sucker for good French onion soup (pictured), which I always order with no bread or croutons. Broth has authentic rich flavor with just the right amount of simmered onions. The only thing that might have made it even better would have been the use of Gruyere (or Swiss, instead of what seemed to be mozzarella) for the cheesy melt topping the delicious soup. Our chosen entrees tonight were the cashew crusted Mahi Mahi (pictured) served with orzo and fresh green beans, and the seared tuna (pictured) served on an umami blend of Napa cabbage and broccoli lightly dressed in sesame ginger, just-right heat, and peanuts. SO good! Oh...and you can see by the pics that the portions are well presented and generous enough to have some for lunch the next day! Truly a local fav! Great place for lunch or dinner!

4D's Bar and Grill - has wings and pizza?…read more Why, yes, yes they do! 4D's has been in the Dupont and Lima Road area for years. I have never stopped in or ordered carry out until recently. I'm glad I did! On Wednesday's they have $0.50 wings. Otherwise you will find wings on their appetizer menu - 6 wings for $9, 12 wings for $15 or 18 wings for $22. My order had a mix of small to large wings. Therefore, I'd say, on average, you are buying a medium sized wings. 4D's has 14 different flavors for their wings. I didn't see a wing menu at 4D's bar. Their web site doesn't list the flavor choices. The nice gentleman on the phone asked me what I prefer and then listed off some choices - listing 14 would take a lot of time. I seem to recall him saying they had hot and mild buffalo sauce. I think he listed BBQ, spicy BBQ and honey BBQ as choices. I went with Teriyaki as usual. The wings were cooked to a solid white center. The inside was moist. It seemed to border on being over cooked...without actually being over cooked. These wings had some lovely grill marks. I believe they were also lightly fried as they had some crispy ends and somewhat crispy skins. Overall I liked the grilled-fried product. There was plenty of thicker teriyaki sauce on these wings without it pooling in the bottom. The sauce stuck nicely to the wing and to my fingers. It had a mild teriyaki ginger licking good flavor. Though I thought is was on the plus side if mild in terms of rich teriyaki flavors. This was more to my preference. 4D's added about six pieces of celery and a cup of blue cheese. The blue cheese sauce was thin with a few small clumps of blue cheese included. I didn't prefer this flavor, consistency or texture of the blue cheese sauce. So...I usually start by telling you if this place should be condidered a destination for wings. I'm not sure if 4D's is a destination or not. The wing prices say it should be a destination. Usually a broad selection of sauces says "I'm a destination". Though, I really don't know about their 14 sauces since I haven't seen the list. So, maybe 4D's should be a destination based on the 14 sauce choices. The wings were good - so it could be a destination. The dining area, from what I saw, in the front bar area, didn't seem like it would be a place where I could sit for an hour an eat wings. So, maybe not a destination. Is 4D a destination for wings? I don't know at this point. Bottom line...4D's needs more evaluation. I will try them again and let you know. Until then...you give them a try and share your opinion. 4D's only has four pizzas listed on their web site - 14" pizza, Meaty Lucious, Super Supreme and The Squealer. I can't tell you much about these pizzas other than what is obvious from the name. I didn't see a menu when I went inside the bar. I assume all pizzas are 14" pizzas. The 14" Pizza, assuming it is a one topping pizza, is listed for $14. The other three pizzas are listed as $20.00+. I'm not sure what the plus means. 4D's makes a thin crust pizza. I assume that is their only choice. The crust was soft and white in the middle. The edges were a little bit more crispy and brown. 4D's cuts the pizza into squares. The crust doesn't have any special seasonings or flavors. The Super Supreme pizza was piled pretty good with the normal supreme type toppings. The onion and peppers tasted fresh. The meats were mild in flavor and spice. The mushrooms were large. The pizza featured plenty of green olives that gave a bit of a salty taste. This pizza also featured a lot of banana peppers that gave it a more tart taste. I really can't tell you how the pizza sauce tastes. It was hard to detect underneath a heavy bed of mozzarella cheese. Even in the picture it is hard to spot the pizza sauce. Overall...it was a good thin crust pizza. Definitely worth a try if you live in the area. Cold Pizza Test - the next day I found the pizza to still be moist. The crust was still soft with the edges starting to get a bit more chewy. The toppings were also still soft to taste. The meats and cheese seemed to get bleached out by the salty green olives and tart banana pepper flavors. I wasn't as fond of those flavors while cold. The leftover pizza would be more enjoyable if it were reheated I'm thinking.

Empanadas - Chicken and Beef - $4.89 each - The pastry is flakey and filled with delicious meat. Unfortunately, they were out of the pulled pork with mango BBQ, so we tried chicken and beef. I've never had an empanada that I thought, "Hey, I'd buy this again," until now. Seriously, this is a must try. 5/5 stars. Tres Leches Cake - $5.99 - Here again, same thought, "I never had a tres leches cake I'd ever buy again," until now. This was really good. The cake held up on its own, and the milk was sweet but not overly sweet. Hubby said this was the best tres leches cake he has tried, and I definitely agree with that. 5/5 stars. Senoritas - $5.69 - Now, I didn't realize how sweet this pastry was. When we arrived, there wasn't much left to choose from in the dessert case, so we picked the two left in the case (this and the tres leches cake). This you NEED to pair with coffee. It's good, but overly sweet. It would have been nice to have a warning that we should be buying coffee with it. I picked the chocolate flavor, and it would have worked really well with coffee. The other two flavors were espresso and vanilla. 4/5 stars. Service is always friendly. Ambiance is still nice. There's some board games for people to play in the back of the restaurant. My only concern is that the tables are a little sticky. If someone could just clean the tables more often, that would be great. You need to come here. You don't want to miss out on this place.

So...you might have to wait for a table. Unfortunately there isn't space for a nice waiting area. So you might stand up in the small bar area while you wait. It's okay. Things move fast. Enjoy the people watching opportunity. The team here is very friendly and welcoming in an odd way. They really are glad to serve you. Lots of smiles and friendly smiles. They are efficiently-friendly. They all move and talk fast. They are hustling to serve - not avoid. They will take a moment to get to relate...but not much more than a moment. The service is very good! The Sullivan family is very nice as well. Laycoff's is known for sausage rolls and a community bar environment. My wife loves her sausage roll. Full of tasty cheese surrounded by a light, fluffy and soft dough. The American sausage blended in with the cheese nicely. The menu has a small number of specialty pizzas (only six) along with build-your-own option. The prices are pretty comparable to other bars. On this occasion I got a 16" Everything pizza for $20. A 16 inch pizza was a LOT of delicious pizza. The pizza crust is thin. It is thin enough that almost every bit has a slight crunch. However, it was also soft enough to satisfy the less than crunchy crowd. The crust doesn't have much distinct flavor or seasoning. Just a nice thin crust. The pizza sauce was also hard to distinguish. The pizza is so full of toppings and cheese that you really don't see the sauce. The sauce that was they are blended well with the American sausage base. Now the best part - the fresh toppings! Laycoff's uses the Pizza King approach by using finely chopped toppings. The base of the Everything pizza is a finely ground American sausage. The base of the pizza so completely covered with sausage on the Everything choice. The sausage doesn't have much spice or flair as it is American style instead of Italian. The pepperoni is very thin. The fresh and slightly crunchy onions and peppers are chopped into small pieces. Even the green and black olives seemed to be smaller. The whole pizza was coated in delicious tasting mozzarella cheese. As I mentioned the 16 inch pizza is a large pizza. Laycoff's cuts the pizza into large pieces as well. This pizza could easily feed 3-4 people. Cold Pizza Test - I always want to try the pizza the next morning, cold, and for breakfast. This pizza was outstanding cold and as a left over. The coldness causes the mozzarella cheese taste to really come forward. The saltiness of the olives gets bolder. The bed of sausage and cover of cheese really help keep the pizza moist. The crust stayed a bit soft with a slight crunch. Overall, I really liked the pizza. It wasn't outstanding. However, it was really good at a good value. Dinning at Laycoff's has a sense of memorabilia and nostalgia. Be patient and enjoy the environment.

Not only the meats, but the sides are to die for too. Was so good I went back same day to get some for my friends to try for their wedding.
