Seems to have really went down hill. Menu changes and new one on Maplecrest this location is never busy anymore.

Well I tried this place for the first time on a recommendation and was a little disappointed after receiving the bill. The place wasn't that busy with only one server that was available. She seemed to be very busy answering the phone for Togo orders while we sat for 10 minutes before our order was taken. When finally getting the bill. This place has a "customer service fee of .95" to run a debit card. Seriously? I'm already spending money to eat there why should the customer have to pay a fee on top of paying for the food and drink??? This fee should be the responsibility of the business. It may sound petty but you've lost my business over .95 cents. And we eat out 4 times a week read more

This place was alright, not great and not terrible. Way over priced for what you get. My son got the brisket platter, there was like 5 strips of brisket. You would think you were buying steak lol I would recommend shigs and pit rather than this place. I had the rib tips, a little dry but overall good. Very impressed with the entire visit. Friendly service and easy parking. You may dine in and they serve you at wooden tables. We ordered the burnt end and brisket sandwich. We got beans, coleslaw, and corn muffins as sides. They have a sauce bar so you can pick your own sauce after trying the different kinds. Our burnt end had that smoky rich flavor. No fatty pieces and not dried up. The brisket was melt in your mouth delicious! I used the Texas BBQ sauce with the brisket. The sides were just as great as the entrees. Corn bread wasn't crumbly and had a sugar coating on top. The coleslaw was a good balance of creamy and cabbage. The beans were on the sweeter side and one of our favorites. Give it a try! We arrived when the doors opened at 11am. The server greeted us by first expressing the 5 things they were out of. She acted as if we was interrupting her by rolling her eyes, sarcastic and unfriendly tones and an overall sense of laziness from the whole the entire establishment. Sorry Lucille but I stopped by tonight to order dinner to go, stood in line for 6 or 7 minutes and was mortified by the lack of procedures in place for masking. Girl at the register had hers down pat her nose, I repeatedly watch at least 3 people emerge from the back who were clearly not wearing masks and I literally watched a server come out with an armful of plates and silverware, walk past the customers in line and into the dining room not wearing a mask. To add insult to injury, she didn't even appear to have one around her neck. Are you watching what is happening in Chicago??? This type of behavior only makes me wonder what happens during non-COVID times. As much as I loved your food, I won't be back. This saddens me as we always try to patronize locally owned businesses instead of the large chains. read more

Brought my family of 11 to eat for my birthday dinner. We pulled two tables together for all of us to sit. After sitting for a few minutes, someone from the restaurant comes out and says "we don't pull tables together" and proceeds to separate us and walks away. Didn't say sorry or anything to accommodate what would have been a large sale. I've been here many times and they have good food but I will never come back. read more

A nice new place (for us) to try. The food is really good if you like your smoked meats! I'm not the biggest fan of them, but gave it a try. I enjoyed the pork nachos but got a few bites of just smoke. They didn't skimp on the toppings and I like the queso and shredded cheese combo. I prefer the Texas sauce over the house, but there are several other from which to choose. Service was very friendly and prompt. Oh my goodness we tried for the first time tonight. Ribs and brisket, Mac and cheese, garlic and cheesy potatoes, and coleslaw. It was all amazing! Every bite was followed by mmmm. Dont waste your time with this joint. Pulled pork was overcooked, under seasoned, extremely dry. The brisket was overcooked, sliced improperly, disgustingly greasy. The mac and cheese was in a pool of soupy milk. I spent 58.00 and ate one bite of everything. Absolutely disgusting. read more

I stopped in today and tried the place out. It was empty, the menu had dinners, but they had everything in quarts and pounds so that was a big plus. We got burnt end, ribs, Brisket, BBQ beans, chipotle Mac-N-Cheese, slaw, and Brussels sprouts. It was a huge amount of food. The place has a BBQ bar and has a few real good sauces. We liked the Texas and Raspberry Chipotle the best. Good Vinegar! The Brisket cut was good. The flavor held nicely. But beware if you got kids there is Horseradish in the slaw. We liked it a lot but it was a shock for the kids but it killed the cabbage after taste. Real Nice. Down side Lima Rd and you got to get to it going south bound only. But worth the u-turn. read more

I really don't like giving negative reviews, but we just did not have a good first experience here. We were looking for a BBQ place a bit closer to home than our normal haunt. I found this place on Yelp and it had great reviews so I figured, "Why not?" Upon entering, I liked the atmosphere of the restaurant. It was clean, the employees were friendly, and the decor was interesting. On top of that, they had TV's with sports going. We sat down and waited for a bit for someone from the kitchen to bring out the menus. There were some interesting things on the menu, so we were excited. I noticed that they had a BBQ bar with several bottles of about 4 (I think) different BBQ sauces. I tried 3 of them - the spicy, house, and Texas. All of them were extremely good with the Texas being my favorite. I ordered the brisket with the poblano mac & cheese and corn muffins. My wife ordered the house-made sausage with beans and white cheddar creamed corn. In addition we ordered an extra order of corn muffins. Our meals took about 25-30 minutes to get to us once we ordered. Upon receiving our meals, we noticed there were no corn bread muffins. The woman (not our waitress) went to get them and then came back and informed us that they were out of corn bread muffins. We decided to nix the extra order and I decided on the cheesy potatoes...which they were out of also. In the end, I just got an extra order of the corn for my wife. This might be nitpicking but we're not sure why they waited until they brought our meals to inform us about the muffins, but we noticed they did that to another table. Now, I'm trying not to be too critical as I am not a BBQ expert. My brisket was not at all what I had envisioned. Perhaps I've watched BBQ Pitmasters too much, but what I received looked nothing like the brisket I had seen on TV. On TV it was firm, lean, and a nice color. The brisket I received was not firm at all, was comprised of probably 25% fat, and more of a grayish color. The flavor was okay, obviously much better with the BBQ sauce (the intent, I realize). The star of the order was the poblano cream Mac & cheese. It was amazing - creamy, cheesy, and flavorful. We were not overly impressed with the sausage. It was dry and barely warm. It had a good flavor, but again the BBQ made it all the better. She said the corn was quite good but the beans were so-so. The corn, however, was inconsistent. The side my wife first got was far better than the second, which was slightly burnt. Overall, it was a bit of a letdown based on the reviews I had read. Perhaps it was just an off day? I'm not sure, but it didn't leave us wanting to come back, which is a shame because we need some more BBQ places on the north side. read more

Wow! A BBQ place in Fort Wayne? Awesome! It was my first time here, however I did not dine in. The place wasn't hard to locate either. I went on a weekday so it wasn't too busy. Lucky me :)! The menu had a variety of meats - pulled pork, ribs, chicken, briskest, and sausages. Each platter comes with two sides. They also have another menu where you can order by the lbs. We decided to get the full rack of ribs and 1/2 chicken... Let's just say we had a lot of food!! Our sides consist of cheesy potatoes & Mac-n-cheese. The corn bread muffins are so good!!! Make sure you order that! The ribs and chicken was pretty legit considering there's not a lot of places in FW that has yummy BBQ foods. It was fully cooked and flavorful. Oh they also have a bunch of different sauces that you can get which is located on the side of the restaurant (Texas BBQ, raspberry chipotle, spicy BBQ, etc) my favorite was the spicy BBQ (I like anything that's spicy =P) As for pricing, it's okay for the amount and quality of the food you're getting. Damn this was a good lunch. First off the ribs are fantastic. Perfectly cooked, Smokey tender delicious competition tender, but not over done fall off the bone Shit. The Mac and Cheese, Brussels and Corn were all delicious. The burnt ends sandwich was flavorful but a little on the dry side. That being said, it had awesome smokey flavor. The BBQ sauce are all pretty good. Really liked the Carolina Mustard sauce. The original is good too. This place is not cheap, but that being said this is really good BBQ. We went there because of the wonderful reviews and we were not disappointed! My son ordered a full slab only while I ordered a half slab with 2 sides, the cheesy potatoes and the Wilson's beans. We got our order to go and my son also wanted the Brownie Sundae. The service was quick and the whole way home we kept talking about how yummy everything smelled. As soon as we walked in the door my son grabbed his full slab (& tried to take my half slab!) I took a small portion of his Brownie Sundae and sat down to eat. The food was Amazing!!!! The beans are perfectly seasoned, the taters were delicious and, while I took some house sauce home, I really didn't need any for the ribs. I think I could have eaten a whole slab myself! The Brownie Sundae was the perfect ending to my meal. The portions were spot on and we'll definitely go back! read more

A+! I had no idea this place opened up, but came here for lunch last week and was soo happy I did! My fiance and I both opted for one of the specials: he had the brisket sandwich, I had the pulled pork sandwich. The brisket sandwich had all sorts of fixins on it, included mashed potatoes; I had a bite and was in heaven. My pulled pork sandwich came with the most perfectly fried egg (crispy edges, beautiful runny yolk) and had succulent meat. I liked the brisket meat better, but both were winners. The mac and cheese side was so decadent but I thought the ratio of pasta to sauce was a little off (way too much sauce to noodles). I really enjoyed the baked corn side. We will definitely be back to try all of the sauces (had the house, which was perfect, and the Texas, which was not our favorite) and the ribs!! read more

The best in town. Variety of sauces that would please any pallet. Side are scrumptious and homemade. Unique to boot! Blues music and clean, inviting atmosphere. Only downfall-wanted burnt ends and at opening time on a Friday, they still had an hour to go in the smoker. Second choice was brisket and it was spectacular. No need to travel in shady parts of town now. We have a new and better bbq on the north side. I can't say enough great things about this place. Initial impression was not a great experience at 5:45 pm on a Saturday night. No one greeted us but we were welcomed by other customers. The sign said out of Burnt Ends. No Ice Tea. (BBQ and Ice Tea go very well together, but not here). No brisket available. Considered heading out at that point. We stayed and the food we had made up for the for 10 minutes. The turkey was great as well as the pulled pork. The sides were a good portion and tasty. I'll come back and give them a second chance.
