I decided to do my grocery shopping at this location because it's close to my home. Normally, I shop at WinCo, but I wanted to support a local business. Unfortunately, my experience was disappointing from the start. I asked a question in the produce section, and the employee's response came across as unprofessional and uninterested, as if he didn't want to be there. The produce itself was far from fresh--many of the tomatoes looked like they were on the verge of spoiling, and the prices didn't match the quality. As I continued shopping, I noticed that overall, prices were noticeably higher than at WinCo. At express checkout, one of my items wouldn't scan. I asked the cashier for help, but she seemed annoyed, like I was inconveniencing her. She had been sitting there on her phone and only responded after I tried multiple times to scan the item myself. I wanted to support a local store, especially given how many businesses in Antioch are closing. But when customers are treated with indifference and rudeness, it's easy to understand why that happens. I hope management addresses this and reminds staff of the importance of good customer service. read more

This review is for the bakery department. I called last minute on a Saturday afternoon to see if they could still take a cake order for Sunday. My order was successfully placed over the phone. I have a love-hate relationship with Lucky. On one hand, I seem to get what I'm looking for without having the need to go to other places (especially if I feel that the selection is lacking). On the other hand, it feels as if I am being robbed? Because why did I pay $8 for eggs? And why did I pay $12 for meat? And why was their coffee grounds expensive like crazy? Seriously, there was a coffee blend I wanted to buy but it was $14.99, and I NEVER pay that much for it. The only good perk is that it's closer to where I live. When I questioned the cashier she said older woman gray long hair 5'1 said I don't know what to tell you but I have a huge line an either pay or I can suspend rhw transaction my of corse I paid but no sale or discounts nor coupons were applied. 63 items I purchased I took receipt an stepped aside an after looking was upset I should of got 45.00 plus taken off with clipped coupons an monolopy coupons I had to wait for manager Nichols well he said he is a manager but tag said head clerk. When he came over I told him the whole process to start to finish he did not care one bit actually said I was making people walk out of store an not pay for items an stealing them walking out. Also he told me I was tolling him up from checking people out in line that he did not need my business st the store mine you I been shopping here 18 years he also told me management is toxic an this is why I got no help an a bunch of havoc. This is not ok what ever happened to customer service. I have been to this store a total of 3 times. Each of my visits here I have had a negative experience, but I think it will be my last! The meat department ALWAYS had something expired, the produce department never had what I was looking for and the lines at the cashier register were always long! I dont understand how no one else is trained for the register! They never have more than 2 registers open! The last straw for me was the fact that their shopping carts were locked and there were no other working carts! I had to carry all of my groceries, ANDA HAD TO WAIT IN LINEFOR 20 MIN!! Bakery staff, evening rep, manager Nancy and Assistant Manager Annette, lack customer service skills. I ordered a round size 2 layer Strawberry/balloons topping, whip cream outside and inside. Picked it up on 10/08/2020. The cake was Sub Par. No strawberries on top had to look for the strawberries inside. Inquired at the time of pick up...what happened to the strawberries on top, only balloons on top. When I cut the cake at home, couldn't find a strawberry, Very tiny slivers of strawberries inside. Attempted to discuss this with all three mentioned up top, they do not care. Annette argued and accused me of wanting a refund. I only wanted to be discounted for Strawberries missing on top. The checkers are nice, I have gotten expired foOd so I sometimes always check the expiration date! Prices are higher. I also don't like to buy meatt froM here cause the quality is sub par and I just knOw they repackage old meat and sell it on discount price! Birth day celebration for my son... But wait, no cake?.... Guess what, the girl who took my order on sep. 2 to pick up the cake on sep. 10 she forgot to re-write PAID on the order sheet!!!!.... I don't recall gave my receipt back after paying and bring it back to the bakery for the baker to stamp or write PAID. My sister in law lives in that area and I asked her if she pick the bd cake, after her frustation when I went to pick up my son Pokemon bd-cake the bakery manager was really rude and make fun of my sister in law because she don't speak English and my 10 year old niece was translated her. This manager told me that he speak spanish and he did not help her because she did not ask him if he speak spanish....what????.... I was really speechless and hurt!!!!....This kind of rude and pretending ( working so hard) employees cost a lot of $$ to the store because don't understand, we customers invest our money, we don't ask for charity. and he make customers don't come back!!!!.... For years my family and I always bought our any occacion cake since this store was Save Mart, sounds like is time for me and my extensive family for a new store in the neighborhood to do our cakes!!!!.... The worst customer service ever! I was at the meat counter trying to figure out how many pounds of crab to buy. I told the older white lady to give me a second cause I needed to make a phone call. She said ok let me know when you are ready. I attempted to make my call however my boyfriend was being inpatient. The lady comes around the corner to set something up not sure what she was doing. She claps her hands at me and yells "how many pounds of crab do you need"!' I said "please do not yell at me and I don't like your tone cause my boyfriend was already yelling at me. She proceeded to go back and forth with me. She walks back around slamming everything she picks up!! I come here all the time!! I've never experienced this before. I told her customer service is everything and hers suck!! I am the customer you don't treat people like this!! I was already having a rough day now here this lady comes with terrible customer service. I just wanted to share my side. They have items in the shelves that are expired. I mistakingly forgot to check the expiration date on my ranch and when I got home it was ALREADY expired. Gross. Unopened ranch is suppose to last a year or so. Then a few months later I bought a chia seed tea. I opened and took a sip and noticed it tasted a little funny....checked the expiration date and what do you know? The thing had already expired 2 months ago....my last straw was when I was shopping in produce.....I looked down at all the cherry tomatoes and good thing I checked because there were bugs in all of them! Most of the staff is really friendly. Only giving it a 4 because I can find a lot of things cheaper elsewhere but this store is close to home so it's very convenient. I'm mostly writing this review because I want to compliment the young bagger Aaron. He is always so friendly to everybody and he engages in conversation with the customers. Having friendly staff like him really make a difference and make you want to continue shopping there. I know that's how my husband and I feel. You would think that this upgraded Savemart store (turned Lucky's) would have trained their employees to have better attitudes in front of their customers as a result of turning into a "Lucky's". Unfortunately they inherited the same "trashy" employees from Savemart who, don't know how to even greet their customers at the check stand (I mean how much does greeting cost?), who also don't even smile when you make eye contact with them. Also, they appear bothered when you ask them to check something in the back warehouse. Do these folks think they are the only grocery store around here? I was actually astonished that they even said thank you at the end of my transaction. If management knows this lack of customer service, and tolerates it, this store does not deserve your patronage. Try shopping at Safeway, the price is not that different, you get better product selection, and see the night and day difference. In simple terms, the customer service here "sucks". I hope the store manager would heed these words and act upon it. If not, shame on him/her. read more
