First tattoo at 53 years of age! My niece and I have talked…read moreabout getting tattoos for a long time now. But I couldn't commit to an image or a place to put it, until a couple of days ago. She has had tattoos for a dozen years or more, and wanted to get matching ones for us. What clicked with me was her saying: find an image that represents you (me), and let's do that. So..... I said to myself, ' what's me'? A paintbrush.....painting a rainbow! Googled it and off we went. Now, I lived in California for 10 years, so I have experienced weird, unusual, and unorthodox, and she didn't know it, but I visited a tattoo parlor in Napa, CA. Enough back story. And I did check out his facebook page, too. So off we went to Rose City, where he is a big supporter of the community there (unofficial mayor). Very cool. The place is like you would expect: red and black, lots of black, and every square inch of wall space is covered with tattoo designs. He is a collector. All kinds of stuff to look at and lots of books and magazines, too. We got in at the right time, late afternoon, no waiting! We talked about what we wanted, he gave us a price, paid cash, filled out paperwork (very professional), he has shop rules clearly posted in several places: No one under 18, cash only, etc.... and then he started drawing..... I would describe his artistic style as vintage. Dark outlines and bold colors. Very much a 1950's vibe. What I liked best was he talked with you about the design and how to place it. You trust his judgement. He's been doing this for 24 years! There is a whole ritual in how he sets up his tools. Fascinating..... just watching him prep your skin, the little ink cups, the needles.... After he creates the design he presses the rendering to your skin and he begins. The sound the needle gun makes is soothing. On, off, wipe. On, off, wipe. He if fast! Not nearly as painful as I thought, not like a bee sting. More of an abrasion or a sun burn. When he is done, he covers it with plastic wrap, give you some A&D ointment, and a card with aftercare instructions and you are done! So great! Love it. Thanks, Scott! Now maybe another one......?

Josh is the new owner and treated me great. Great tattoo and also great vibe!! Reasonable price,…read moreclean parlor and good music while being tattooed... Highly recommend!! I'll be back to get a few more added.

Now my friend has a lip piercing that only cost her about 60 bucks so why was my ears 87? Maybe it was because of the jewelry I got but I didn't get to choose it and matter of fact he charged me the 87 before I even got to think about choosing it. Again, the guy was super sweet but no way in hell should I have paid 87 dollars to get my ears pierced...I recommend going to Claire's instead.

Came here on the recommendation of a friend. They were having Friday the 13th piercing specials, so…read morewhy not. I wanted my tragus and cartilage done. The dude (can't remember his name. he's the one on the commercials, the one with the long dark hair, and beard. you know, the sleezy looking one. yeah, him), came out and asked me twice what i wanted. I'm pretty sure he was high af. I'm positive of it. His reaction time was slightly delayed, tell tale symptom of being stoned... But, I didn't listen to that little voice and let him pierce me anyway. The shop seemed clean enough. Went to the little back room, and we small talked for a little while. I should've been watching him, but I wasn't. I wanted to put myself at ease by playing an game on my phone as he prepped. He did my cartilage first. I wanted the placement to be less near the ridge of my ear and more near the center. He drew a dot and showed me. We went back and forth a little bit, but I just decided to trust the man. I closed my eyes and took a deep breath. I heard a loud snap. This guy used a piercing gun...on my cartilage!!! I was shocked. Any professional shop knows piercing guns are sins and to always use needles to avoid excess trauma. I looked in the mirror and he didn't even pierce it on the dot at all! I asked for a refund on the tragus because i did not want it to be done with a gun, nor did I want it misplaced. He said I couldn't get a refund, but assured me that he would use a needle...and he did. But the problem was, the jewelry. It did not come from a sterile package. He pulled it out of one of those bulk earring displays. I just couldn't win that night. I left with blood dripping down my ear from the tragus. Luckily for me, my piercing are healing just fine despite the bs. He hugged me and thanked me, and followed me out to my car which was little weird, but yeah...
