    Truck!
    Cassie P.

Lucky to score Lucky Bird! This food truck came to my 'hood recently and it was such a nice change of pace. We ordered a Spicy Bird sandwich, chicken tenders and loaded sweet potato fries. It was easy to order and pay online via their website and our food was fresh out of the fryer upon arrival. The Spicy Bird sandwich was the standout. It was a big piece of fried chicken topped with gochujang butter and house pickles on a potato bun. I was impressed by the size of the chicken tenders but thought the breading was lacking flavor, so the honey mustard helped. For that reason, I'd opt for the asian or buffalo blue tenders next time which have sauce. The loaded waffle fries included cotija cheese, buttermilk dressing, bacon and scallions. I liked them! The people working there were super friendly. I'd definitely try it again the next time the truck rolls through!

The Lucky Bird inside of Edgewater Public Market completely hit the spot for both my bestie and I. We met yesterday to reconnect in person after only seeing one another virtually since March 2020. Edgewater Public Market is a great place to accommodate us - lots of socially distanced seating, open spaces and friendly folks like at the Lucky Bird to cater to just about any taste you may have. Today? The Farmhouse Salad with roasted chicken did it for me. I love the fatty nature of this salad - creamy ranch dressing, bacon and yummy blue cheese! And you can't go wrong pairing that with spinach, tomato and sunflower seeds. Simple and yet so good. My bestie decided on the Buffalo Blue wrap and some sweet potato waffle fries. No complaints from her. I may try hers next time - roasted chicken, cabbage, tomato, blue cheese crumbles, buttermilk dressing and Buffalo sauce. Yum! Ordering was a breeze and we waited CIR maybe 5 minutes. Staff was awesome and friendly as well. Total win.

Lucky Bird was a wonderful find when my husband and I went to check out the new Edgewater Public Market. The chicken tenders themselves were breaded perfectly and even held up to swimming in the buffalo/blue cheese sauce. The chicken was slightly over cooked and a tad dry, but the sauce made up for it. The buffalo sauce was one of the best I've had. Nice hint of spice and a little bit of tang. The blue cheese crumbles and sauce cooled down the spice and gave a nice creamy finish. I will definitely be back to try their Asian tenders!

My experience was brief and deeeee-licious! Lucky Bird was at the Truck Stop Rally today at Welton Street. They had many delicious chicken options but I'm trying to stretch my stomach for as many different food trucks as possible so I appreciated their $5 Truck Stop option: a basket with a chicken strip, coleslaw, and honey mustard dipping sauce. I devoured it all despite not being a cole slaw fan, the honey mustard vinegarette was much tastier than a mayo based slaw. The dipping sauce container and fork were compostable, maybe the cardboard basket was too but it didn't say so. Had to hold myself back from getting more. Will try again!

Visited the lucky bird at the edgewater public market. Food was good, loaded fries even better. The chicken tenders on the sandwich were a little dry due to being white meat and not dark meat but overall it was still a good sandwich.

Ate there spicy chicken sandwich at the chicken fight fest earlier this year and actually nominated them to win!! Stopped into the new public market in Edgewater, and what do you know?? They have a location inside. Great service great food.

Love their creative marketing. There's a delicious chicken sandwich hiding in here.

Which consisted of wings and tenders, and basket of loaded fries. Kenn got a Dr. pepper to go with it all. We heard the sauces were bomb. We got classic range, honey chipotle bbq, blue cheese dressings. Everything was delicious and we enjoyed ourselves... the chicken was crispy like I like it and the tenders oh my was delicious. We will be back.

Had the worst restaurant experience here i've had in a long time. Not just from the food but from…read morethe deceitful charges, and what felt like a payment scam. Unfortunately despite having enjoyed their menu in the past, I DO NOT recommend anyone come here; if you do ask for a paper receipt and pay in cash to ensure you're not being overcharged. ((Full Details Below)) We loved this location due to the delicious chicken and fries, but have not been here in over a year since the new management. We ordered a whole chicken (10 pieces of chicken variety $28.99 with 2 sauces +$1 each sauce, Large Fries $7.99 + $1.00 for flavor rub, and one soft drink $2.99). The menu is slightly different than from what we remember so we asked for advice, one of the sauces came recommended by the waitress. Note that we already knew the price range and already expected to drop $45-60 for two people, including the tip. We get our food, 5 one sauce 5 another sauce, strongly disliked one of the flavors, we couldn't eat it. Ate the other 5 pieces, it was delicious. We ask if it was possible to switch the 5 pieces of chicken for another flavor, they said since they cannot take the chicken back to the kitchen they won't/cannot switch them with a different flavor, but if we place another order of chicken they will give us 20% off. We decline, we'll just eat the 5 pieces we did like and leave the ones we didn't. Oh well right? That's life. Waitress comes back and says they will give us a discount on the chicken. That's nice of them, thank you! She comes while i'm still munching with an electronic pay pad, no itemized receipt like at other restaurants, points the machine to my fiance to tap his card. Total is $47.something she says, I tell her i'm paying cash so please bring us a paper receipt. She leaves, my fiance comments "that seems high" me, i didn't notice at all. Waitress comes back with the paper receipt and we begin doing our own calculations. I notice that they charged us for two half chickens (16.99 each) instead of what we ordered which was a whole chicken with 2 sauces ($28.99, $1 each sauce = $30.99) That's a $3 dollar difference, in which we are overpaying by $3 than what we had originally ordered. Waitress tries to explain to us that they removed our original order to discount the chicken, but that still doesn't reason why they are charging us for TWO half chickens instead of just discounting off the whole chicken order we originally place. She says it's because it's one sauce so half of the chicken, so half chicken charge. Then we tell her that even with the discount, the way they are charging us for two half chickens cancels out the discount and we are still overpaying at the end compared to our original order. We tell them to remove their discount, we don't want it and to charge us for the whole chicken that we had ordered originally. Waitress goes back to talk to the manager and then comes back and "corrects" the problem giving us a 50% on one of the half chicken orders. This time we weren't overpaying, but they still never corrected the order to reflect our original whole chicken order, keeping the two half chicken orders. At the end if we hadn't noticed we would have left overpaying for a meal we didn't enjoy. The part that is most upsetting is that we were not rude to anyone, just told them we disliked the sauce, accepted when they said they wouldn't switch it out, we didn't ask for a discount, they offered it. Note we still tipped after this. I don't know if this was done on purpose but what I can say is that we felt deceived, we will not be coming here despite this being a staple food spot for our relationship. Very sad.

Describing this restaurant as amazing small business simply doesn't do justice. You have to utilize them and see it for yourself. Opened its door about a year or so ago. I noticed this place (I would say) about 6 months ago when I was at the liquor store (in the same shopping center) working my side hustle (sampling some products as a representative from the distributor.) I simply didn't have time that day so I had no choice but to reserve the opportunity to visit them for another time. I cannot believe that I simply let another 6 months pass by before I was finally able to utilize them today (Dec 7, 2025). On a sunny Sunday afternoon, it was way past the peak lunch time. The restaurant didn't have anybody dining when I stepped in. As I was furiously taking photos of its exterior from the overview of the front of restaurant to small Sunday special signage, I simply couldn't stop taking more photos of it once I was inside; it's quite cozy and cute! And it's all about Peru and alpacas!! I, of course, was warmly welcomed by a few workers at the ordering counter. The lady in charge was peppy and gregarious. She explained about the restaurant a bit. She then handed me several different menus from breakfast menu to drink menu to main (food) menu so I would know what the restaurant offers. The size of the restaurant is smaller but what they offer and serve is mighty! I told her I would need at least 5 minutes to peruse all the menus. I had time; there was no need for me to rush the process. At a place like this (South American cuisine), ordering an empanada or a few is a must. I've had empanadas from several different South American countries such as El Salvador to Columbia to Argentina to Nicaragua. It was my first time to experience ones from Peru. Yes, I simply could not resist the urge. My final decision was as follows: T. Aji De Gallina (Peruvian spicy creamed chicken stew) and one of the empanadas (I ended up getting a ground beef one even though I asked for a vegetarian one. This was okay as it was a simply mistake.) Aji de gallina: As I described above, this is a stew with chicken, rice and potatoes. This curry like stew is made with milk, peanuts and pecans. Simply state, exquisitely made with a subtle taste of peanuts. The chicken and potatoes were well-smothered in the creamy stew with a slight kick of spiciness. And when you eat it with jasmine rice like rice lightly seasoned with salt, a magic is created in your mouth to feel the warmth and savoriness. Simply and delightfully well-made dish to say the least. Ground beef empanada: Again, I ordered the spinach and cheese empanada but ended up getting the ground beef one. It was an honest mistake where it really didn't upset me. The excellent service by the lady upfront and the main dish's exquisiteness pretty much nullified the mistaken for me. And I found the ground beef empanada wonderful (the accompanying chimichurri sauce enhanced the whole experience.) Well, this also created a desire in me to go back there again soon and try other empanadas including the one I couldn't eat (spinach and cheese). This place is only a 15-minute drive from my southeast Denver house. For a quick drive that short, I can go here just about any time during my lunch break or after work. At my next visit, I will definitely try S. Seco A La Nortena (cilantro beef stew). And one of the empanadas for sure! I simply cannot wait for that opportunity.

There are many hot chickens, but those flavors get tiring and honestly it's more one dimensional in taste. The chicken Katsu isn't your traditional Hawaiian/Japanese but it's close. They put their own twist on it and it delivered. I personally still prefer the Hawaiian style chicken Katsu but this is very good. I wish the Mac salad was creamier as it was pretty dry that night. The elote was good, but nothing to rave about. The fried rice complimented the chicken well. White rice would also go well to help with the saltiness of the chicken. The tenders are good and juicy. It has a light breading which is great since it emphasizes the meat of the chicken well. They priced their meals perfectly and its cheaper than many places which makes it a hit. I wish I can give it a 5 but it's closer to a 4.25. Kickin chicken will be in my rotation for post shift meals since it's conveniently placed across the street!
