A friend told me about Jerry and his tattoo shop. I was chatting with Jerry on instagram so I can get my first tattoo. I was telling him what I wanted and told me that he's all backed up until October so he told me he has another artist that can put me in the next day. Her name is April. When I went there the next day, I met both Jerry and April. They are both super nice. When I went in and talked to April, she was very nice and really considerate. I did tell her that it's my first tattoo and that I had a really bad experience with drawing blood since it was with a needle. She was super attentive and worked slowly. When I first went for my consultation, I was impressed how clean and tidy the shop is and Jerry is very friendly and professional. I have seen his work first-hand from a coworker and I am obsessed, especially his flowers, because flowers are what I was looking for and he did not disappoint. AMAZING!!! For my entire life I've struggled with my appearance due to a port wine birthmark covering my right arm. I've had many laser treatments for a good portion of my childhood to remove it and nothing worked. So... I decided to take the plunge and cover it up with a full sleeve tattoo. This was not my first tattoo- I had 13 smaller ones prior to this from other shops in town. But this...this was a commitment. I wanted to find the right artist to turn this into something special. I've been getting tattoos from Jerry since 2012 when his shop was still on East Sahara. A coworker of mine from my old job told me about him and when I saw his Instagram account I instantly knew he is the artist for me. He did a cover up for me and from there I loved his work! I hadn't gotten a tattoo in over a decade and decided to book with Jerry after a friend suggested him. First, I love that he has the ability to do "girly" artwork. He has a wide range of style unlike some other shops. Second, I got lucky in the booking process and managed to grab a cancellation because otherwise he was booked out for 5-6 months (and now I understand exactly why! ) Third, I'm not sure if he manages their Instagram page himself but whoever does was super friendly and professional. They were clear on policy and gave me a reminder message a few days before my session. When I arrived the shop was super duper clean and he was ready to get started. He was the only one there which was nice and calmed my nerves. I got a decent sized piece in the center of my back and it barely even hurt because he is very skilled. I felt like I could have dozed off during shading (and I was so nervous when I first got there). He kept me talking to keep my mind off of it and calm my nerves. The whole session took a little over 2.5 hours and the tattoo looks AMAZING! Exactly what I wanted and exactly how he drew it out. I am pretty skinny and I am mixed, with brown skin, so I'm very impressed at how little it hurt and how much the color pops. He was extremely professional, personable and skilled and I would recommend him to anyone! read more

He is booked out for a long time ( a good sign for an artist) but I was lucky enough to fill in an opening he had after a cancellation. It was about 4 weeks from scheduling to appointment. Where do I begin, Jerry is the best in my honest opinion. Anyone who can master a cover up and make it look like a beautiful masterpiece is the GOAT. Covers up are not easy especially large cover ups and I'm currently down 1 session and have to go back for the 2nd and final. So far I'm so happy with the outcome and my experience. Can I just say... I am a huge fan of Jerry Thomas! He and his wifey completed my wedding/ honeymoon in the best way ever! He's currently doing my husband's sleeve and we decided to get wedding tattoos (since we married in Vegas) so Jerry did Lucky Cats for both of us, as well as worked on my dude's sleeve. I had sent some ideas to him prior to our visit.. but I knew he would come up with the best custom piece for us, and I was right... the lucky cat he drew for us was PERFECT.. So, excitedly, I sat down to get tattooed first. He was playing my kind of tunes and having a nice conversation with me. Time passes... I'm done. I show my hubby and it's his turn. Jerry rocked these out so fast and perfectly. He is so kind and such an amazing artist... I am honored to have a custom tattoo by him. This place is on the eastside, and tucked away into a strip mall. It's not a trendy, hi-end spot...these guys are real artists doing real work. Jerry, owner, has a calm, positive energy...and true artistic talent. His brag books are impressive (he's got hundreds of custom fonts), and he apparently does Ne-Yo's body art. In his workspace, he's got books on various world cultures and the history of symbols. I'm pretty sure he even had a copy of the Tibetan book of the Dead. He's studied in Thailand, China & Japan, and mentioned that he's been invited as a guest artist to shops in Japan and the UK. These guys know their craft and take it seriously. I have to gripe because we had to wait 2 hours before even sitting down. But once in the chair, they were quick, efficient, and had gentle hands. I paid $70 for a nice touch-up from his apprentice on a decade-old tat. And I will be back next week. I explained to Jerry what I wanted for my next tat...he got it immediately. He's designing it now and I know it will be stunning. read more

Adding a second review since I traveled to Vegas recently and was able to get my tattoo worked by Jerry in the parlor this time. Jerry's doing my whole right arm sleeve right now and it rocks so far. Planned an entire video game idea and he's been fantastic with blending everything together and giving it life. I got my side done, a lifelong dream of getting roses on my side. It was done in 2 sessions and I'm very pleased with his work. I plan to get more and more done. The only reason I gave a 4 star is because since I was getting my side done (from the side of my boobie to my hip) he told me I couldn't wear a pastie or he would cancel my appointment! Idk why it was such a big deal. I wanted to be comfortable since it was like a 2-3 hour session. I mean it's his shop so I abide by his rules. I'm not the skinniest girl so wearing a bikini top was just super uncomfortable for me. Ended up just wearing a hoodie half on. Jerry did this tattoo for me and also filled in my "be not afraid" tattoo I got two years before at his shop. The new shop is closer to the strip. It's small, clean, and nice inside.
