Everywhere I go people are like "dude that tattoo is sick!" I've also heard, at least five times, "who did your line work? That guy has the steadiest hands ever." 100% true I've been told that, at LEAST that many times. Somebody said I was "lit" and started taking pictures. I'm not into leg selfies, but now I'm stuck here, having my leg fetishized by weirdos. Another tattoo artist said "that looks like it was printed on your leg. Amazing work." So, ef off, Paxman. I went and got a piece done by DJ on Thursday of last week. The shop is very clean and the employees are professional. DJ whipped my design work out in a few minutes and started to work. Note: this review is for a tattoo by Tiffer Wright who is not a permanent artist at this location and handles bookings independently. Some thoughts on the shop itself: it is clean, neat, and clearly well-kept. Each artist's space allows them plenty of room and privacy without sacrificing the overall vibe of the space. Lots of odd and fun decor and talking pieces! The bathroom is clean and they have a water dispenser available. The tattoo: I contacted Tiffer via Instagram/email when I found out he would be working in Vegas and set up two appointments to do full thigh pieces of my pets. Tiffer is cash only (I believe the whole shop is) but there is no ATM inside so make sure to get your cash before you come! There are several ATMs within walking distance (Wells Fargo, 7-11). When I arrived Tiffer already had the basics of the sketch done and worked with me to fine tune the details and background. We worked for about 7 hours total including more frequent breaks toward the end, and Tiffer was so accommodating the entire time. His attitude is encouraging and it was great that he was as excited about the piece as I was! Many high fives were exchanged by the time we finished and I must say this is the most incredible tattoo I could ever wish to have on my body!! I knew by his Instagram and website that Tiffer did amazing work, and I had no concerns about handing this task off to him. Wonderfully - my trust in his process paid off and I am not the proud owner of a tattoo that absolutely captures the essence of my dog Casey. My artist pretty much does only customs, but agreed to do my iconic image. Tons of line work. He was the consummate professional. 6 hours in the chair resulted in EXACTLY what I wanted. The shop is clean (and COVID friendly-I had my fingers tatted when it opened back up from the shutdown) but Tom's lines are cleaner. His work is worth every penny spent and he makes the time spent go by fast with good convo! All of the artists are fantastic, you can't really go wrong. Hands down the best shop I've ever been to! I was tattooed at three different shops before Bad Apple and none of them even come close to this one. I've now gotten two big pieces from Ray, and have been very pleased with my experiences there. My first piece was a fairly involved cover up on my upper thigh/hip. We discussed, both in person, and via email what I wanted. He was always on time to our appointments, whether it was for a consultation or for the actual work. Ray was always responsive to my questions and concerns and came up with something that was beautiful (if a little large). He has great attention to detail, and the shading is lovely. My second piece, I love every time I look at it. I needed something to kind of tie together the initial big piece, and we discussed what would look best. It definitely works. The color, shading, and detail is fantastic. Of course, it is an interesting experience- Ray is fairly quiet while tattooing (but to be honest, he is quite the eye candy, so I didn't mind), but the shop is pretty busy. They play a wide variety of music, some I liked, some, not so much. Pricing I felt was fair, and they do accept credit cards. read more

When it comes to tattoos, I am a huge ROOKIE. Until now, I had one small piece that I got done when I was 18, simply to be rebellious. I have wanted this new tattoo for over 10 years now. Changed up the location a few times, but the art has pretty much been the same. It was more about finding the right artist, as well as me having the guts to finally do it. After a ton of research, I decided to go with DJ Tambe as my tattoo artist, which led me to Bad Apple. I had seen a lot of his work both in person and on websites and I was confident that he was my guy. At the time I did not realize but he was on a show called Best Ink, where he actually did a tattoo similar to the one I wanted done. I was 100% sold once I seen that. My design was a corset piercing down the back of my thighs, that looked like it was actually going through my skin. When I arrived, DJ had a sketch of a beautiful design, but I wanted a few simple changes made. He had circles for the ribbons to go through versus it appearing to go through my skin, and the bow was on top and I wanted it on bottom. There was no hesitation at all from DJ when I asked for these changes. He made sure I was okay with a little bit of a "gore look" when I talked about the realistic through the skin appearance. Within 20 minutes of my arrival, DJ was ready for me, and I was nervous as can be! The good part about my tattoo is, it's on both legs. So by the time I was ready to tap out on the first one, this quick ass guy was moving over to leg number 2, HALFWAY DONE in less than 3 hours!! I do not have a lot to compare it to, but everyone claimed DJ was fast, with a light hand. Considering I got this entire piece in one sitting, I would say that is very accurate. The only time I was in MAJOR pain was behind the knees. And DJ even warned me that it was a sensitive area. I felt bad because my legs starting twitching towards the end due to the pain back there. I was so grateful every time he moved up to a more fatty area. However, even with me moving around, he handled it well and did not even ask me to stay still. DJ was pretty quiet, which he apologized for and said he gets in a "zone". Dude, you are putting permanent art on my body, please get in whatever zone you need! I feel like I was probably annoying the shit outta him while he was zoning! Other artist kept coming over and complimenting his work while tattooing me, that made me so anxious to see it. While laying on my stomach, I was able to see over half the shop. Everything was clean, and there are so many cool things to look at. If you are not a fan of dead animals on display, I would steer clear. I personally enjoyed making eye contact with them. I won't lie, the end of my session is kinda a big blur. I do not remember really leaving the shop, and I was 100% sober. I would say my body was in a little bit of shock. To newbies like me, I thought I was just fine. But now I look back, and I was pale and a little shaky. I was pushing my limits. This is for me personally. I am sure that many people can handle a full 8 hours. I slept about 16 hours the next day and that is when I realized I probably did a little too much. With that being said, I would do it all over again in a heartbeat, and maybe eat a little more next time. DJ is not a cheap artist, I paid over $1000 for a full day session, and yes I was offered a cheaper price by other artist. All I can say to this is, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR. It has been 5 days since my tattoo and I have not had 1 part of my skin scab up at all. The colors are even more vibrant then when I left. He uses top of the line equipment and ink. Oh, and it was worth every freakin' penny!!! I want to end with saying I appreciate how humble DJ was. He was not cocky, or arrogant. He made me very comfortable in the most uncomfortable of times. He was not perverted or weird. He was friendly, and chill, and awesome. When you have someone that close to a personal area of your body- things like this are well appreciated. I loved Bad Apple, the staff, the decor, the people, and mostly my artist. I am not addicted quite yet, however if I get to that point, I will forever be a customer of this shop, and DJ Tambe. read more

I have been coming to Bad Apple tattoos for about 4 years now and they give nothing but top notch, one of a kind tattoos. The former owner, Boom, was my first artist and gave me my first tattoo (a backpiece). I can be nothing but satisfied with the work he's left, although unfinished. My second artist, Ez, was Boom's apprentice and is also my cousin! Finishing my first tattoo with him, I have to say that he has become an amazing tattoo artist and holy hell am I impressed with the sleeve he finished on my arm. I got my first two tattoos here, with Jessy. My sister went to Jessy for some custom work, and really liked her. When it came time for my first one, my sister and I got matching dragonflies on our hips. Jessy was fast, friendly, and made me feel comfortable. In fact, I liked her work so much, I went back 2 weeks later for another dragonfly on my other hip. Jessy inverted the colors so it matched the first one, but with just one tiny difference. Went to LIA jeppenson.. me and my daughter TOOK OFF WORK a whole day to get tattooed. She never showed up. Never responded at all. The rest of the guys in the shop gave a "idk" and no help at all. Highly avoid this shop and go elsewhere and save your time. Elementary vibes here when the tAttoo artist waste your time and money and plays gAmes. Absolutely terrible. The owner will claim "no deposit" and we never had a appointment but don't be fooled by his lies. Worst shop ever. He says a one sided text? Lmao. It's called a booked appointment then the artist bails with no notice. The owner needs to stop covering for the "artist" because his business is the one who will suffer over his lies. So I call up to set up a consultation appointment with EZ, and the guy who answers my phone says, "Um, you have to come in to talk to someone." "Wait, I have to come in to set up an appointment?" "Um, yeah." So they want appointments but won't schedule appointments over the phone. I don't know how anyone else feels about that, but I don't have the time nor patience to play guessing games about how and who I need to speak to just to set up a CONSULTATION appointment.
