My dads favorite Chinese spot! Right off Mexico and midrivers. My opinion they have good days and bad. But love their crab Rangoons and chicken teriyaki on a stick. Quick service which I love!

During COVID times a child's bottomless toy bucket serves as a pass-through in the plastic curtain for order payments.

A walk-in order of beef fried rice was served hot and quickly. There were ample beef and veggie pieces mixed throughout the rice. However, it all was a bit chewy. In these COVID times there's no inside dining at Lucky China. Tables and chairs have been piled on top of each other to provide floor space for random blue 'Xs' that show customers where to stand for social distancing. A ceiling-to-counter, semi see-through curtain partly divides the public space from the kitchen. A children's plastic bucket with the bottom cut out serves as a pass-through to provide your payment. Orders come out through a flap. Perplexingly, despite these precautions there's an open walkway directly into the kitchen.

    Delivery driver entering my house.

I love their food, but the delivery driver rang the door bell then opened the door and entered my house. This is not ok and when I called to complain I found out he did it to multiple homes. I recommend locking door or carry out. This happened in less than a minute.

    Mold on orange peels
    Maranda H.

We have been ordering delivery from Lucky China at least once a month sometimes twice for over a year. Usually the food is really good, hot, and quick delivery. Last night per usual I ordered Orange Chicken, and the orange peels in with sauce had mold on them. What kind of cook either doesn't recognize or doesn't care that half of the orange peels put in the sauce were moldy? They would not be receiving this review if they would have had the courtesy to speak to my husband about this ( he placed the order, and tried to contact them, finally sending a text which was ignored). I hear the restaurants are having a hard time keeping customers, I guess losing our business is no big deal. If you get food from them, check it carefully before eating it.

My go to for Chinese in St. Peters. Get the chicken and broccoli with spicy garlic sauce instead. Game changer.

As you can see in the photo, there were a decent number of pieces, and they were substantial. Broccoli was stir-fried perfectly, cooked with a slight crunch. The amount of sauce was suitable, enough to coat the food without being excessive. The sauce was not too thick, not runny, and not too salty. The rice was fine, and the portion was sufficient. The egg roll was crisp and not greasy. Food is served with a packet of sweet and sour sauce, a packet of soy sauce, and a packet of chili powder. Packaging -- food is served in a plastic bowl with a clear lid and placed a brown paper bag. Value -- excellent! The meal I ordered was a lunch special. You can choose: 1) one entree from 30 options 2) white or fried rice 3) 1 egg roll or 2 crab rangoon. The price for all of this is $8.75 before tax and tip. For $0.70 more, you can add hot and sour soup or egg drop soup. Or for $1 more you can add wonton soup. All this to say, you can get a great lunch for about $10. Service -- great! The owner is nice. The speed of service is outstanding. The time it takes to get your food is as fast -- or even faster--than at fast food restaurants. Ambiance -- good. Almost all customers will order for carryout, but you can eat in the restaurant if you want. There are 3 or 4 tables. There is a fridge, if you want to order soda. Everything is clean. If you are looking for fine dining or a date night, you might be disappointed. But otherwise, the interior is perfectly fine. I highly recommend Emperor China!

My sweet and sour chicken wasn't much better. It was crispy, but tasteless...and the sweet and sour sauce was...meh. I've never run across this before, so always be aware recipes vary restaurant to restaurant. Tip: This is a carry-out or pick up type of place. Although they have 4 tables, their teenage kids are always playing video games (loudly) at one and I've never seen a customer eating inside. It's not a problem. It's just a family affair with dad cooking and mom and kids taking orders. The boneless spare ribs are cut small & absolutely delicious. She said they are not barbecue spareribs, but it tastes like Chinese barbecue sauce to me. The small carton is jam packed and more than enough for 2 people. I also really enjoyed their Mu Shu Pork as well. I ordered mine with extra green onions and extra plum sauce. Yum! The Singapore Mei Fun gets 5 stars! Phenomenal. Huge and packed with flavor. If you have a dry curry, you will love this. I'm giving this place five stars for what it is. I'm not comparing it to fine dining, but I am comparing it to other carryout Chinese and this is fantastic.
