I came for late lunch today and was able to get a table to myself. This was my second time dining in, but their menu has expanded quite a bit since they first opened so I wanted to give it another go. They had some calming music playing and the dining area was clean and serene, as I remembered from before. I placed my order at the register and took notice the large kitchen window which could allow you to watch them handmake your dumplings if you so chose--that's right, everything is made by hand, IN HOUSE! Soup dumplings are their specialty, which I tried in the past--they are delicious, and I don't know of many places that offer them in the STL/St Charles areas. That said, I tried the chili oil wontons and shrimp dumplings this time. I could probably skip the shrimp next visit, but the chili oil wontons are TO DIE FOR. DO NOT SKIP THEM!! I chose pork as my filling, but they offer beef and chicken as well. For a VERY reasonable price, you get enough in one order to easily have a pretty solid lunch. They are tender and the filling ratio is spot on. The chili oil broth could stand on its own, in my opinion. It isn't overly spicy, but they offer chili crisp at your table, which I happily added to up my spice level. Do yourself a favor and try them, you won't be disappointed. I have been back a few times now and this is my new favorite place to get dumplings on the side of the river. The pan fried soup dumplings are lovely and I also tried a chicken salad sandwich which came with a sweet mayonnaise based sauce. At least that's what it seemed like to me. I think this place just opened this year and I don't think there's enough hype because its YUMMY! We visited randomly not thinking too much about - just craving dim sum, but we were so thoroughly impressed with the quality. I love sticky rice, and the shumal did not disappoint. The chili oil wontons were not as scary as they sound, it was more sweet than spicy and great flavor. The third item I opted for was the pan fried soup dumplings, they were not what I expected. In the pictures when ordering they are in a "soup", but in when I got home there was a small condiment container with liquid in it. Not enough for a soup. I think I just found my new favorite Asian restaurant. I have heard about them and wanted to try for the longest time. Fan's Asian Corner is most notable for their soup dumplings which were pretty good but my absolute favorite from them is the Chinese sandwich. I can say the sandwich is the best in St. Louis. If you want something decadent and delicious, go for the fried chicken sandwich. It was crispy on the outside but drenched in the honey mayo sauce. The beef sandwich was also very good as well. I also recommend ordering the pork wonton soup. It was so comforting and warm, rich in flavors. The shrimp and cheese pan fried dumplings were also delicious. It was cheesy but not in a way that would be off putting. The portion is very decent for the price. For a party of 4, you would spend about $20-25 per person and be full. In my opinion, that's so affordable! The service was quick and you can see the workers folding the dumplings through the glass window which was nice to watch. I was pretty disappointed with the pork steamed soup dumplings as there was not really any soup in them and there was a weird metallic taste to it. I did not finish eating even one of those. Me and my dad enjoyed it so much we both agreed we'd be back soon; the only reason I gave it 4 stars instead of 5 is because they didn't have much of a selection to pick from and they didn't have many sauces to dip in (to the owner: I recommend a sweet vinegar soy like sauce for the shumai to be served with!). Also we wanted water and they gave us very small cups to drink from, I don't wanna get up three times in the middle of my meal to ask for more water. ‍Service was alright, they did their jobs and the food came out fairly quick. Not much to say here. The building itself was clean and taken care of, tables bussed and the ambiance calm and relaxing, good for a new experience in Asian culture or a cute date with your partner. I can see this restaurant gaining traction and not having enough seating for everyone. Ha! I finally got to scoot in here around 1pm on a Sunday. You order at the window, pick a seat, and plop your number card down on the tabletop. The teenager perused the picture menu for a moment while the small one chose boba over grass jelly for her tea. I was here for one thing and one thing only - the chili oil wontons. The teenager agreed. This place is adorable. We loved the light wood/bamboo/black/white decor. Modern pop played and customers talked cheerfully. I'm in love. Boba milk tea : this was my daughters first boba experience and she approved. It was VERY sweet with chewy boba, right up her alley. It was a generous size as well. This place did not taste right to us. Soupy dumplings are alright at best. The skin is very thick and inconsistent. Some parts are just raw flour. Pan fried dumplings are ok taste-wise. But the dish is undercooked, making the skin a gooey and slimy mess. Chili oil wonton, please stay away from this, you all. Five months ago, I discovered this local delight and have been wanting to post a review. So this review is an accumulative review of 5 months' worth of eating here 2 to 3 times a month for quick lunches. Best hand made soup dumplings and pan fried dumplings I've tasted in Missouri! My preference is pork over beef and chicken. So the latter two may not be as tasty. Been my constant go to when craving for "Chinese food"; tastes close enough to authentic Taiwan/Hongkong cuisine. Cucumber salad is nice and refreshing but it has garlic which some may not appreciate. The same goes for the broccoli which also has garlic. Ordered that for guests, not something I would usually get. If you like more flavor with "some" spiciness, try the chili oil wonton. It is kind of sweet though and not at all spicy for someone who is accustomed to eating chili padi! ;-) There's condiments on the side if you like to add chilli oil, soy sauce or vinegar. When I am unwell, the pork wonton soup is my comfort food. Wish it came with noodles! Veggie spring rolls with the sweet sauce is nice. Sticky Rice Shumai is good for filling the tummy and goes well with the sweet sauce for veggie spring rolls. Edamame is a good tummy filler too if you don't mind shelling them. Selection is limited unfortunately, no noodles or fried rice or white rice. So for a light lunch, it's ok. The fried chicken sandwich is good if you like fried stuff with mayo. A tad too oily for me. But I don't usually enjoy fried food. Bubble tea price is reasonable $5+ depending on your selection. For the same size cup, another store I've been to charges $10! I think I've about tried everything they have, just not all the different varieties. Service is reasonably fast. Place is simply setup, clean and quiet for good conversation. Servers do clean up but if you assist in throwing away the disposable utensils, I know that they would appreciate that too! :-) read more

Just a heads-up it's pretty warm inside, so dress light. We were seating badly and the poor chairs were soaked. The chili oil wontons were absolutely the best dish we tried, and the beef soup dumplings were also amazing. The golden broccoli was a miss for me, I expected it to be warm, but it came out cold. Very nice to have such goo Asian soup dumplings nearby I have enjoyed the pork soup dumpling on a cold winter day. The pork inside the dumpling was larger than most and filled the dumpling leaving little room for the soup. My favorite was the chilli wonton dumpling, not as spicey as i expected, in fact the chilli sauce on the tables i put on my pork dumpling was much hotter than the sauce in the chilli dumpling - (sorry no pic but will update later). Trust me, all the rave reviews are not wrong - a definate winner. Also enjoyed the cucumber salad which has a heaping amount of garlic (w/vinegar to balance flavor). The portion is very generous and a serving for two. Interior is clean, spacious, simple (w/to-go boxes conveniently placed). Service is prompt and friendly.
