    French onion soup

Went here for my fiancé's bday. I was able to make a reservation the same day for a party of 3 on a Wednesday. I wasn't able to get the exact time I wanted but close enough. So, again, make sure you make those reservations! We had the beef and puff pastry, which was still just as delicious as it was the first time. Make sure to get some bread on the side to mop up all that sauce! French onion soup was also enjoyed just as much as last time. New items we tried: the most expensive things on the menu at $48(?) each. The filet mignon came with asparagus and a potato croquette. It was a tender and flavorful dish. The croquette had a lot of flavor! The New Zealand rack of lamb. Ugh. In a good way. Like ughhhhhhh! Soooo good!! The most tender lamb I've ever had. And the mashed potatoes that accompanied it was delicious - even to my child that doesn't usually like potatoes unless it's fried. Now, we saved room for dessert since it was a special occasion. Espresso crème brûlée. Mmm!

This was a pleasant surprise!!! We hadn't planned a lunch and thanks to my Yelp App this popped up as highly rated in the area we would be traveling through. EXCELLENT CUSTOMER SERVICE! - The hostess was so busy and was great at greeting customers and answering the phones and keeping everyone in priority order in her head as people kept arriving. Our waitress, was one of the best have ever encountered in a restaurant. She was well rehearsed with the specials and the details around the dishes on the menu and drinks etc. She was so friendly, articulate and engaging - her enthusiasm made everything sound so delicious! The FOOD!!! holy moly - everything tasted so fresh. No stale oil...no slimy fish...it was fresh crisp and tasty. LOVED my fish and chips. Best I have had since I was in Northern Ireland for work. Also - they have real HEINZ ketchup. Accept no substitutes. LOL I was so full from my entree, which I could only eat half of...I couldn't resist the lemon blueberry bread pudding, that came with blueberry Gifford Ice Cream....MAINE Made. YUM. For a Tavern the inside was more upscale than we anticipated. Dark wood, clean and - more of an upscale gastropub. Restroom (1 person at a time) clean and tidy. Parking - onsite private parking lot. I cannot wait to come back the next time I am in the area. I hope that people continue to visit to keep them open by the time I visit again. HIGHLY HIGHLY RECOMMEND. Make a reservation!

With such a large menu, we were skeptical about how good everything could be, but we were so happily surprised! All of the food was delicious! We loved the fried calamari (RI style) to start. It came with a sauce drizzled over the top instead of for dipping, but was still crunchy and delicious. The only minor complaint about the food was that the burger was slightly overcooked, but still tasty. Our waitress was also so welcoming and friendly. We will be back! Highly recommend making a reservation, even for lunch during the week! We were surprised by how busy it was and that some people were turned away.

Really really good food. Every dish we had was awesome. The bartender was very personable and explained all the specials. Prices were reasonable and the vibe inside is great. We got lucky with open bar seats but will definitely make a res next time.

Clam zuppa white sauce, chicken Parm and meatball sandwich

Great food, loved the clam zuppa pasta, meatball sandwich, and chicken parm (just needed more sauce). Fast, friendly service on a packed Friday night. Big portions, perfect fries. Only downside was the tiny $12 to-go espresso martini. Great sangrias. Reccomend!!

Pasta Divina, scallops, lobster and shrimp

The restaurant is small and nicely decorated. The staff are friendly and welcoming. The food was incredible. The prices and portions are very fair.

All the Wow's! First visit was a meet up with long time friends. We all had a wonderful experience. The menu is extensive. The wait staff are all very well trained, professional and friendly. Check in with the hostess. I do recommend you make a reservation. Private parking lot, so all good there. Restrooms near the entrance/exit. You can see from the photos attached we had a variety of meal. All well prepared. My Diver Sea Scallops were perfectly cooked. They came with a sauce that was fine, but really extraneous to my preference of a fresh, well cooked scallop. The stuffed shrimp was devoured! Good meatball sub that didn't repeat itself (as others have)! That 'Bad dog burger' is a hefty, tasty meal. With these delicious entrees we just had to go for dessert. The chocolate cake, with the addition of vanilla ice cream is a huge, decadent dessert. Absolutely enough to share. The creme brulee is so rich and creamy. Paired with the espresso martini (sans kahlua) was a delicious, over the top ending to my meal! I will definitely keep Lucky Dog on my list of restaurants to visit again!

Excellent service from Zach at the bar. He is very talented and knowledgeable about the menu, impressive! Extremely small place but they are very efficient and informative about it, seat time is limited to 1 1/2. Definitely priced on the higher side for a Tavern but food was excellent.

She told me she loves the Chicken Parm Sub at Tavern 6 Two 1, so placed an order for her, another chicken parm for her boyfriend & a cheesesteak for myself with an upgraded side of onion rings. My cheesesteak was good but the onion rings stole the show with delicious spicy ranch in our opinion! Very light & crispy breading. I also tasted my daughter's Chicken Parm sub which was excellent. I love how you cut up the breaded cutlet before putting on the roll. Lots of edges for the sauce & cheese to cover. I don't think I can ever go back to eating a chicken parm that just puts a full chicken cutlet in the roll! While I was waiting for my pick up order I had the chance to look out onto the outside patio which is beautiful & nestled around the trees. I'm sure there are some gorgeous sunsets. Definitely a hidden gem! Next time I come from NJ to visit I will make a stop! I just feel bad that I didn't take any pictures, but we were too busy eating!

The second one was very questionable ( see picture). unfortunately, after eating part of it I noticed that some of the romaine lettuce was clearly wilted and starting to go bad (dark, soggy pieces). I stopped eating it once I realized. The chicken and wrap itself were fine, but the lettuce quality was disappointing and not something that should be served. This seems like a food prep/quality control issue rather than a one-off. French fries were nice and crispy! For $17 on DD, I am so disappointed. I am willing to give this place another chance, but this also makes me question the quality of other ingredients. I hope management pays closer attention to produce freshness going forward, because this could have been avoided.

It has almost a cult-like following after reading the reviews. In my experience, everything I have ordered was okay ... but nothing incredibly amazing vs. the price. I have not seen higher menu prices outside of Manhattan. Two sandwiches and one beer came to $78 after the tip. You read that correctly ... a burger with fries, a pulled pork sandwich with side salad and the cheapest draft beer on the menu ... $78!!! The wings/tenders were over $20 ... in fact, other than the side upgrades, nothing on the menu was under $20. If you are charging $25 for a 'diner burger' and fries, it better be an amazing burger. Mine was no better than Five Guys and less tasty than a Shake Shack. Given the prices, one wouldn't expect that you'd get potato chips with your burger. In order to get French fries ... it's a $5 upcharge. A side salad is $9. I don't mind paying more for quality ... and Blackie's quality is probably high as their meats, vegetables, potatoes, etc. all list the origin place. However high the quality is, for me anyways, the food doesn't seem much different taste-wise, than anywhere else that is much less expensive. Having said that, the portions are huge. The nachos look like they are meant for an entire table and everything is served on metal cafeteria-style trays. Good for them though because the place is huge and always packed. The crowd here is very typical 'Rhode Island'. Expect to see a lot of anchor tattoos, lifted Jeeps with no doors in the parking lot, young 20 - 40 year old crowd who probably played high school football or baseball back in the day and still enjoy telling stories about it. There are no shortage of cross-fitters here. There is a nice buzz of conversation and energy ... but this is not the place you want to go if you don't like crowds. Inside is weird. The walls are painted black and the chairs/tables look like something in a boutique hotel. It looks a little more like a corporate hotel lobby or wedding function hall vs. a restaurant ... especially given the typical crowd. This is not the sports bar it appears to be on the outside. Overall, my 3-stars may seem harsh. But that's an average score ... and honestly, my food has always been average. Maybe I need to try the pizza. If you have deep pockets and like huge portions, you probably won't be disappointed in this place. The service is great, although 2 people working a packed bar, you will wait a bit if you need anything. Also, I came to watch the big game and for some reason they hung pendant lights which dangle down from around the bar. While they make everyone look better, the TVs are blocked by the lights. Very odd.

She was pleasant but not overwhelming and made sure that we had everything we needed. If you haven't been here before I would recommend their seafood. It's all high quality and reasonably priced. Tonight though, I had the Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms. I will say their Alfredo is superb. It's buttery, rich, creamy, savory, and everything else you'd want an Alfredo to be. The chicken was thinly breaded and perfectly tender and the mushrooms were copious. I definitely had more than enough food for two meals. My grandma had a burger and liked her meal as well- I'm always a big fan of the pickle. If you haven't been to Lindy's yet, definitely try them out. It's a quality pub!
