I've been coming to Lindy's for years now as it's one of my Grandma's favorite restaurants. I'm honestly surprised it's taken me this long to give them a review! I definitely recommend coming in early as peak times there can be a long wait. But, I was happy that we didn't have a wait tonight. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The restaurant itself is large and open but because of that can be hard to hear, especially if there are tables sitting next to you.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I appreciate that they always have a specials menu as they have some imaginative dishes on there. Our waitress was friendly. She was pleasant but not overwhelming and made sure that we had everything we needed. If you haven't been here before I would recommend their seafood. It's all high quality and reasonably priced. Tonight though, I had the Alfredo with chicken and mushrooms. I will say their Alfredo is superb. It's buttery, rich, creamy, savory, and everything else you'd want an Alfredo to be. The chicken was thinly breaded and perfectly tender and the mushrooms were copious. I definitely had more than enough food for two meals. My grandma had a burger and liked her meal as well- I'm always a big fan of the pickle. If you haven't been to Lindy's yet, definitely try them out. It's a quality pub! read more

Lindy's is a great spot to grab a bite! I live in town, so I have been going to Lindy's for years and the food is always good! I love getting the fish and chips there - they offer two types, crispy or beer battered. I always opt for the crispy! We also order take out from them a lot and we will even just order some clam cakes to take out to go with our homemade chowder! The restaurant is always busy, so you will probably have to wait to be seated. I don't think they take reservations. Plenty of parking in a nice big parking lot around the building. read more

It's unclear if my review is really for their food, or if it's more generally for this style of New England food. A friend of mine warned me that some of these foods are "fried dough that tastes vaguely of seafood," which is how I'd describe clam cakes and stuffies. Both, well, mostly dough, but fine for what they were. Chowder had some good clam pieces but was too salty for my taste. Went there on a Friday evening with no resy. There were about 10 families ahead so we waited approx 40 min to be seated but we really didn't mind because I had heard good things. Once seated, everything was amazing, food service, I had no complaints. The portions were so good for the price. I had a seafood sub that came with fries for $16. And I ordered 6 on the half oysters for $14. It was delicious! The staff are super friendly too. I will be making my way there again soon. read more

Finally made it to Lindys Tavern in North Smithfield, RI -- just under 30 minutes from Worcester & right off 146! Sunday's special is a $7.50 Bloody Mary topped with a huge shrimp, & it did not disappoint We started with a generous portion of crispy calamari, then dove into our entrées -- he had the 2lb stuffed lobster with a baked potato & butternut squash, & I went for the turkey dinner. We had a horrible experience yesterday. Waiting to check 8n and thr staff took people that came after us to be seated. Then we waited a good 15min for our waitress to come and take our drink order. She was rude and rushing. I get it it was super busy. Then we waited another 25min and we were super hungry. She kept walking by taking care of other tables. The filling was flavorful and it had just enough heat. We got the calamari RI style. It was tender and tossed in garlic butter with hot pepper rings. It was great the only negative for me was it was served with cocktail sauce instead of marinara. I'm sure they would sub it if asked. So no points deducted. Main course we shared a fisherman platter. It came with a giant piece of fish, 3 fried shrimp and a bunch of fried clams and bay oysters. Coleslaw and tarter too. We subbed o-rings for fries. 2 of us couldn't finish this plate. So much food. The oysters and shrimp were tender and delicious. The clams were clean but a tiny bit chewy. That's the case with clams so I wouldn't call it a drawback. The fish had a cornmeal batter. I do prefer a beer batter but this fish was delicious. Flaky and white with a nice crispy outside. Tartar was typical and slaw was nice. One of the better ones I've had. Overall super great seafood. Lindy's was a 5 star for me! I was in the area for a work event and walked in the door 5 til 9pm. I could tell they were starting to clean up so I asked if the kitchen was open. They said until 9pm. I said okay never mind because I didn't want to be "that guy" the staff insisted that if I could order in 5 minutes it was no big deal because the bar was open until 10pm. Anyway, I proceeded to order the stuffies (seafood mix stuffed in clam shells) and fish and chips (I opted for onion rings). While I waited for my food the bar staff was polite and conversational and serve me some cold local beers. Then the food came out. The fish was the size of Shaq's shoe, and tasted amazing. Second visit was nothing like my first. Actually ended up the same table with the same waitress. Ordered the colossal lobster roll because I loved it so much the week before and I got served the small one. I said I ordered the colossal and my waiter said nope you ordered the regular one. The only thing is, the clams are whole belly and come with all the brown smutz and I wasn't a fan of that, I may just opt for fish & chips combo next time. Chowder was very good and not just all broth which I loved, there was definitely potatoes and chunks of seafood in it unlike other places where it's all broth and no substance. My fries were somehow both cold and soggy at the same time -- which honestly felt like a science experiment gone wrong. The waiter disappeared so long I started wondering if he clocked out mid-shift. When he finally came back, I had already memorized the entire ketchup bottle label for entertainment. The burger looked like it lost a fight before getting to my table, and the soda tasted like it was 90% ice and 10% regret. The best part of the visit? Leaving. My "go to" place when I am working and need something quick to munch on or something savory to satisfy my pallet. Either way, the food is flavorful and delicious. My go to meal is usually the Reuben, YUM!! The service is good and the staff are lovely! Attentive and kind which can be hard to find in today's industry. I'll definitely be back. read more

I was asked while waiting in line if it was my first time to Lindy's. It was and the kind lady let me know that the food was fantastic. She was so right! I started with the seafood chowder because I am not a red chowder person but I won't hold that against them! This place does comfort food and seafood options in a big way. Portions are large. Service is always fantastic and attentive, we were able to find seats at the bar right away and the bartender kept on top of refills. We ordered a bunch of staples, scallops, lobster roll, steamers, whole belly clams, clam chowder, and washed it down with Narragansett! The lobster roll was slightly dry and the portion was less than I remember, but the flavor and toasted roll was delicious. The chowder is always on point, loaded and creamy. Steamers never disappoint, we had 2lbs. The whole belly clams are meaty and tender and come with fries. One of the best things were the buttery and super light scallops, I'd order that every time we go. The ambience is a clean, fun, and bright yet cozy. It's so busy here so the waitstaff is running like crazy most of the time - but they still manage to bring extra drinks and check in regularly. My choices over the visits were: Prime rib - delicious! Great value! Tasty! Available Thurs and Sat. I could go for another one today. So good. French dip sandwich - also good, but the au jus was too salty for my taste that day. Nachos - not a fan. Not at all. Their "queso" cheese was all pooled on the bottom of the plate/bowl underneath the bed of nachos like they poured a ladle full of cheese on the bottom and popped nachos on top. They were messy and soggy underneath. We left a lot on the plate, which was a waste of a $12.99 app. We love a good nacho plate (we held the chili - don't like chili) but this one didn't hit the mark at all. Burger - good. Nothing extravagant but it was good, solid choice. I do like their fries. Nothing super fancy, but they taste good. Buffalo chicken sandwich - also a solid choice. Excellent portion of chicken, fried just right with a nice hearty bun and buffalo sauce with the right about of heat. It's a great value for $10.99, if I recall - but tomato/onion/lettuce are extra and dressing are all extra and my topping choices brought it to a reasonable $12.29. No complaints there! Garden salad. Their Italian dressing is great - fresh salad. Definitely a good option to start a meal off. A large starter is a great share size, the small is a great single size. Just right and affordable. We picked this place because it was one of few around the Burrillville area after we visited the Conjuring House. Inside, it's very open with high ceilings. The waitstaff was friendly and apologetic for running a little behind, but we didn't mind as we weren't in a rush. I ordered the lobster roll and forgot to specify hot or cold and it came out cold... at first I was mad at myself but then took a bite and it was outstanding! I rarely get cold rolls because hot/CT rolls are simply superior but damn this cold roll was the best cold one I'd ever had. I thoroughly enjoyed the entire thing. I came to Lindy's to see a a fellow band play in the back area of the parking lot, it is a separate building altogether with a bar great place to watch a band, but I did travel inside to the restaurant, it was very busy, it is first come, first serve, I will tell you the food was delicious, the weight staff is very attentive to your needs, very professional establishment, I was with four people, and we all ordered something different from the menu, everything that we had ordered was excellent, there was nothing negative, and we never ran out of drinks. This is a nice place. The staff is very friendly. There were lots of locals and we sat visiting with some who said they were regulars and loved the place. It is very loud, but everyone seemed to be having fun! They have live Keno drawing every 2 minutes. That was fun. We had a seafood sampler platter it was good. read more

A small but tasty restaurant located just over the border in Rhode Island. It looks like a biker bar, but please don't let this turn you away. A good size u shaped bar with several choices on tap and a nice selection of mixed drinks. Not a lot of seating and the wait can be long, but don't let this deter you. The menu is large and the specials are always enticing. I had the chicken sandwich, a perfectly cooked half a breast with a large portion of fries, for only $12 bucks. Wife had a scallop, whole belly clams and haddock. What a huge platter, for not a large dollar amount. Perfectly fried platter, with not a lot of batter to hide the flavor of the seafood.
