Where do I start. So we went to wrights chicken farm but they weren't open yet. We found uncle Ronnie's restaurant right down the road we were starving and the place looked nice. Here comes the bad :( We each ordered a dinner entree that comes with soup. The soup took forever to come out 1 mean over a hour other people had there food. After eating the soup which was ok we waited an additional 30 minutes for our main entrees. I had grandmas pasta which came with stuffed shells. They were sour. The kitchen replaced the shells with a side of pasta. They admitted the cheese was sour. Kudos for that. The fish and chips were fantastic along with our waitress Erica. The restaurant comped 1/2 our meal and was very apologetic which was nice but at the end of the day we were served moldy stuffed shells. Unfortunately we will not come back. Saturday evening i ordered take out. Ordered white chowder with 6 clam cakes. I was told on the phone that my meal would take 20 minutes. Got there 20 minutes after i ordered. Food was not ready. I waited an additional 15 minutes for my order (total of 35 minutes). The chowder was cold a tasted disgusting. As for the clam cakes....there was NOT 1 single clam in them. Our food took 1 1/2 hrs to come out. When it did it was pure garbage that I would not feed my dog. I ordered steak tips rare, came out well well done and dryer than the desert. They were also the size of a quarter. My mother ordered same as myself an same. The chef is a hack an not a chef. Our entire tables orders were all garbage. I would not go back if you paid me. Our waiter was good, wasn't his fault the kitchen could probaly ruin a peanut and jelly sandwich. Negative stars given. Not to mention my wife got sick when we got home. Decent day enjoying the large screen tv. With good food and drinks but a big down fall was a family with a screaming infant from the time the walked in till we had to rush out after spending good money was a big disappointment. What can I say, I know my delight was all their intent! Been here on a few occasions for breakfast and it was pretty supreme. What better time to find out how their dinner is than during a pandemic. It's tough to give hard facts when the numbers are a bit skewed. I drive 25 minutes home so it's not exactly freshy, fresh. Having said that, I was pretty surprised all around at how good everything turned out! Calamari was poppin with flavor, the shrimps were fresh and seasoned phenomenally! I honestly can't say enough about our experience here. I have Celiac Disease and often find it quite difficult to find anything I can actually eat without getting sick. This place was a wonderful stop that has a GF menu!! We went in for our Anniversary and the food was extremely good! The service was great, the drinks were good and the whole place was just amazing! We came here for food fights. There is off street parking. They also can host parties. The inside is very comfortable and casual. Our server was very forgetful, but sweet. We ordered the loaded nachos, it is a big serving and they were good. We had the chili on the side and it was somewhat looking. We ordered three sets of wings, sweet and sour, honey mustard, and garlic Parmesan. They have a decent size menu with a good variety. This was our first visit to Uncle Ronnie's Red Tavern. I had lower than normal expectations because so many restaurants haven't been serving patrons for months now. Only outside. And not in Massachusetts, where we are from. So, we looked it up and saw that it was dine-in and take-out. We took the 10 minute drive, parked our car, put on our masks and were seated pretty quickly. We took off our masks. There were three of us. Our first course was the Scalloped Wrapped Bacon appetizer. Quantity of 6 which is adequate for 3 people. The scallops smelled fishy but were pretty tasty. The shredded lettuce placed in the middle was useless. It look dry - not edible and very unnecessary, in my opinion. My husband and daughter split the Surf and Turf. There was an 8 oz sirloin steak and they chose the crab leg bundle. For their sides, they chose broccoli and a stuffed potato. Small fries were also ordered for our daughter. The steak was good, but the crab legs were "just ok". I didn't try them so I am taking their word for it. The broccoli was "way past cooked". It was that pale green color versus bright green - get some ice and water and plunge your barely cooked broccoli to shock it into not cooking any further. The loaded potato was good, as were the fries. I ordered the Baked Stuffed Shrimp. This is my "go to" meal any time there is seafood on the menu. I had expectations that this would be a good entree. I was incorrect. The shrimp were NOT CLEANED and NOT FRESH. I kept seeing "veins" - well, they aren't really veins, they are excrement from a shrimp. Those are supposed to be cleaned out before butterflying. The shrimp were overcooked. I get that it is a challenge to bake seafood, keep an eye on it, and you would ruin the dish if you had to taste it. It's a crap shoot. I get it. But, other than the stuffing needing some salt, the shrimp were not good. Canned corn and rice pilaf were my two sides. They were just okay. For dessert, we ordered the carrot cake. That was pretty good and I loved the whipped cream on the sides. Our daughter got the Bavarian Pretzel with sugar and cinnamon. That was great. I won't tell you how big this thing is, but it came to our table hanging from a hook. My eyes popped out of my head. This could easily be split among 6 diners. She took it home with her. I could give it three stars but then the restaurant might just sit back and not make any improvements. Take the 2 stars and do something in your kitchen to remedy these little, annoying mis-steps your chefs are taking. Caitlyn did her job. She was the best thing about that place. We won't be returning, Uncle Ronnie. Sorry! For that amount of money, we'll go someplace else. read more

Just for my liking. Other than that the food was amazing. The California burger was so juicy and tasty. My husband had the Ronnie Special. He couldn't finish it! The meatballs on my daughters meatball sub were huge!! I'm an IPA drinker and had a lot of choices. That makes me happy. The bathroom was clean and there was a band setting up to play (on a Saturday night). It was definitely getting busy so get there early. It didn't really matter how good the food or service was. We just wanted the beer. The beer brought us in, the food and service Will bring us back. We had potato skins and they were delicious. Crispy and generously filled with bacon and cheese. I had Chicken Marsala and it was so good. It was Definetly not frozen and was home made. The 'bowl' of chowder was VERY big (biggest I've seen), only made a small dent in it and I couldn't finish it. Clam cakes size were bigger than most and with more clams than most. Baked scallops were shared and satisfied all of us. Everything was paced as asked. The worst service and meal I have ever had here. We sat in the bar around the corner, after 20 minutes we had to go get the server. We order our meal with a cup of soup and salad before the main course. We got the soup first and the salad with the meal. Ordered stuffed fish, got baked fish, the bus boy came by, he brought us the salad and sent back the fish. When the bus boy brought the salad it had the wrong dressing. When he brought the stuffed fish back, the stuffing was hot and under the fish, but the fish was the same piece and cold? The plate had the same potato and veggie, ice cold. I've been to Uncle Ronnie's a few times for trivia. The only thing I really like about it here is they offer $7 rum buckets. You tell the waitress what flavors you like and they have the bar mix you up something really tasty. The food is not great at all, and the last time I went the waitress didn't even bring my sandwich out at all or apologize for the mistake. They offer dinner for two for like 20 bucks but they don't have anything really for vegetarians, nor could they make substitutions. Will I come here to eat? nah, will I come here to drink? We haven't eaten at Uncle Ronnies before. My wife and I decided to order fish and chips for take out on Wednesday, 5/11/2022. I called in and ordered two meals. The website makes it clear that fish and chips comes with french fries and coleslaw. The woman taking the order over the phone said it would take about 15 minutes. We live in West Glocester, so I knew it would take me a bit more than 15 minutes to get there. When I arrived the order was all set and in a tied up plastic bag, so there was no peeking in to just check things without damaging the bag. Being before the dinner rush, maybe 4:30pm, the place was relatively quiet, maybe 15 people so no pressure to get our order done and out the door and its hard to mess up fish and chips, so I wasn't really concerned. Another 20 minutes to get back home and we're ready to eat. Upon opening the styrofoam packaging it was immediately clear that the coleslaw was forgotten in both orders. I was definitely annoyed but not about drive back there. I called back and the same woman who took the order apologized but offered nothing except "I'll have my boss call you back." He or she did not. My opinion - this is sloppy, callous and arrogant. The fish and quantity of fries were generous and the batter and fry oil wasn't too greasy. The cost was slightly on the high side but I like coleslaw and they made the calculation that this was a forgivable offense. I've only been here twice but both times food was really really good! First time I got the clam cakes and chowder. I'm a big Iggys fan so for me to say some place else is better is big. And uncle Ronnie's definitely has the better chowder! So creamy and so so full of seafood. Second time I went I got a turkey club... nothing special right? This thing was monsterous!
