Ok first impression is this is a restaurant!! There is definitely no outside signage or very little to make it noticeable. The restaurant is need of some updating - kind of dingy as you walk in. The server was extremely nice and totally on her game. The chicken was good and the fries were awesome- hand cut. The gravy on the macaroni was a bit bland but I was there for the chicken anyway. The menu is huge so there are other things I would try. However the ambiance in the restaurant needs some work. At least play some music! Overall if you are hungry I'd say give it a try. read more

Not much to really rave about, pretty much a older establishment that's kind of stuck in the past. Menu is kind of dated as well. However they're known for their all you can eat broasted chicken dinners. I did not get to try the chicken on my visit. I opted for their broasted fish which is their version of a light fish fry coating, not in a batter It was a little possibly 3 to 4oz of cod and some hand cut fries. Fish was a little dry but the fries was really good. Free refills on the sodas. May have to go back and try the famous broasted chicken. As least I know the hand cut fries will be good. read more

Came here before a show at the Stadium Theatre. The place itself is a bit outdated but I'm sure people go there for the food. We all opted for the family style chicken dinner - at $12/pp it's a pretty cheap deal. They do have a full menu but looks like everyone in the place was having the chicken dinner. The family meal includes fried chicken, pasta with red sauce, salad, bread rolls and fries/wedges. Fried chicken was cooked well and was crispy but could use more seasonings. Pasta was meh - sauce wasn't that great. Salad was iceberg (not my fave) with some sort of Italian dressing, bread rolls were nice and warm but nothing special, fries looked hand cut - nice and crispy. Service was great - our waitress was very sweet, friendly and very attentive. She's the reason for the extra star in the review. All in all it wasn't terrible, but I wouldn't rush back here for chicken dinners anytime soon as there are other options in the state. read more

Great family style chicken, which is a fried chicken like KFC. Moist, seasoned and full of flavor. The salad was decent. Wedge fries were a delicious alternative to the regular French fries served northern Rhode Island style. The only downside in the meal was the pasta was kind of blah . I'm sorry Broaster House but your sauce was lousy, it could be and easy fix to change that. The condition of this place is one star , but hey it's a bar/old style family restaurant, 12 dollars family chicken !!!! read more

Great atmosphere, great food,superb drinks. Add to that friendly and helpful staff and owners who care about their customers and you have the Broaster House. This Woonsocket landmark has undergone renovations making it even more welcoming. The Broasted chicken is always great,steak tips awesome, and they make fantastic chicken salad sandwiches. Although I agree the decor Is outdated, our family has eaten here for Almost 40 years. The Broaster chicken is always good, and if you order the family Pack it's generously portioned. As much as I like them both, forget KFC and Popeye's, this is the chicken you crave. Not quite fried. Not quite baked. As the name says, 'broasted'. A thin coat of breading cooked to delicious crispiness and luscious juiciness. Currently, the prices are a decade behind, but that probably won't last. All you can eat salad, fried/mashed potatoes, pasta (with sauce) and chicken for under $15. If you can't eat all of that a four-piece chicken meal is under $12. Ordered dinner tonight and had it delivered. First, the gentleman who took my order, was very accommodating and pleasant. He told me my order would arrive in approximately 35-45 minutes. And they were right on time. Meal was piping hot and prepared as I ordered. A few weeks ago, ordered the broasted chicken wings. Very good. Usually go here for the broaster chicken but have tried different thing from the menu and always good. This past visit was horrible, came with a party of 3 around 6pm on a Saturday night 9/21/19. When we arrived there was a sign at the entrance to seat ourselves, as we scanned the tables there was a few empty but still cluttered of dishes from the last patrons, We decided to take a high top table by the bar and waited for service. After 22 minutes of sitting there not one member of the staff approach us to clear off the table or acknowledge we even came in so we just walked out disappointed. Sad part is costumers that arrived after us got service but looked like they must have been regulars because the waitress called them by name. With that they lost out on our business and the new place on Diamond hill Fazzini's got our business. glad it happen this way because they had great food, nice atmosphere and prices are very reasonable. read more

We recently used Broaster House for a catered business lunch for over 100 people. Chris was very prepared! He came early to set up trays so lunch was on time and hot for all. Lunch was hot and delicious! The chicken was perfectly cooked and Chris worked with us to provide ice cream sandwiches, which was a big hit! Everyone really enjoyed it and even took home all the leftovers. Chris even came after to clean up and break everything down (a true rarity). I would recommend Broaster House catering to anyone. Chris really went above and beyond to succeed our expectations! Thank you!! read more

OH MY! What happened to this place? It used to be eat the bone type of chicken.... Now it just tasted so damn bad we threw out the left overs. the Pasta was just disgusting. I think they opened a can of "tomato sauce" and just poured it right onto it. As far as the fries you could taste OLD OIL. The chicken just had NO FLAVOR! NOTHING ZIP ZILCH..... My family and I a party of 20+ recently wanted to have a get together (covid-19) has made it difficult to say the least...I called the Larger all you can eat Chicken location near by and was I meet with nothing but road blocks ...Fully understanding the constraints put forth We asked if we could be seated close or at least at the same time and where told very bluntly NO I got the vibe of "We really don't need your business". Sadly we thought where going to cancel I decided to try the Broaster House from the moment the phone was answered I felt at ease and they did everything they could to make our gathering amazing and still with in the "Covid-19 rules"....From the management to the servers everything was OUTSTANDING if I'm being honest I was shocked at how hot and fresh the food was because after many years of Luke warm family style chicken I had forgotten it could be any other way....Today we are returning for a slightly smaller party for our Mothers day Family meal and Everyone is very much looking forward to it....The standards at The Broaster House set them apart from any other Family style We gave found and I for see a long time relationship between them Our family and anyone with in ear shot of the 20+ of us. read more

I went two times in the past 3 months. I had family style brosted chicken. The first time I went it was great. I mean really good price was right. The second time I went it was a 3.5 out of a 10 scale. I will go one more time and hope it was like the first time I went. I'll report back. Note: you should always serve the best. I am really thrown back by the difference of the two visits. If you could hit the like first visit each and every time your customer base would grow. Maybe my wife and I just hit the place on the wrong night at the wrong time so keep that in mind reading my comments. Another reviewer said it was a kid friendly place and it sure was when we were there. There were a number of kids yelling and screaming or crying. Sorry I like to eat without my ear drums being abused. We were seated in a cramped spot very close to others. And I began to wonder if any of the adults eating near us that night ever talk in a normal tone of voice rather than shouting so you could hear everything they were saying. I've been several times. My take is this. Don't expect a gourmet prepared meal. Don't expect a contemporary looking establishment. It looks like 1968 met 1970 Don't expect that every meal is good and filled with flavor. Don't expect fresh vegetable sides. What you can expect is ... Friendly and quick service, a decent meal at a very decent price ( depending what you order). A cocktail menu that won't break the bank. When you leave after your meal your clothes will smell like Fried Chicken. I have learned what to order and what not to order. You can get a decent 12 oz rib eye for 14.99 get a side salad skip the veggies - they come out of a can. The steak tips are actually cubed rib eye. They are very good. Don't waste your time with any pasta dish- look they can't make everything good. I don't think they use salt in their cooking. The place does attract an older crowd could be why they don't use much salt, Pasta sauce is bland as well as the pasta is always bland and over cooked and mushy. The sea food is hit or miss I have had clams one time they were good, next time not so much. The chicken is the specialty of the house. Stick with the chicken, the beef, and a few select sandwiches. Or just sit at the bar and half a very good cocktail for about 6.00 - all in all I do like the place, but for certain items- Rib Eye- Chicken wings- Chicken breast- meat ball sandwich. Skip the sides get a large antipasto salad - its enough for 3 people. Skip the fries- limp and greasy. You can't go wrong with the shrimp cocktail either. The place is what it is...it OK. Placed a order for a pasta dish to be catered for my babyshower weeks before paid for it and everything, went to go pick it up the day of and it was not made nor, was the chef in.. it was "his day off" another chef had hurry and made the dish for me then apologized, I appreciated him for apologizing but after my experience I will not be doing any business here it's sad because they have good prices. read more

I went here one night with some friends and our kids. Our waitress was nice but that's the only positive to this place. The food was pretty bad. The potato skins were loaded with what looked like cheese wiz. I mean loaded, it was a pool of gross cheese sauce and the bacon was imitation bacon bits. Not one person out of the 10 of us liked them. A few of us had the family style chicken I basically just ate the salad because nothing tasted seasoned. I don't like giving 1 star ratings and try to find the good in a place but I really didn't enjoy anything. read more

Stopped in for take-out. Decided on the clam strip roll. The roll was dry and crumbly, the few clams inside were frozen-dinner quality and extremely salty, and the fries were soggy and sad. The prices there are affordable, but the quality, at least when it come to the seafood, is way off. I LOVE this restaurant! The food is good ol fashioned home cooked food. My father got the shepards pie and loved it. (And he is VERY picky). My mom got the broaster chicken with mashed potatoes and corn and I wish I had gotten this too. It was soo good (I had to try). Me and my son got the ravioli's and they were ok (not the best, but its not an italian restaurant either). I live down the street from here and will be going back often.
