    Lucky You Gift bag
    Doug W.

So, today I got tasked by my lovely, but maxed out wife, to figure out her Christmas gift for her employees. I remembered wandering through a couple of stores in the Gilman Village last year about this time, so figured I would head there and see if I could support a local small business! Boy, did I strike GOLD!! I wandered in to "Lucky Home" and like a "fish out of water", had NO idea where to start. There are SOOOOO many unique, functional and down right cute items, it was a bit overwhelming at first. That's when Emily came to my rescue! I think she could tell I was out of my element, so she asked if she could help me find something. I shared my mission, my budget and she promptly threw out a few great ideas. I loved the idea of a hand-made cutting board and a Christmas towel or a charcuterie board, but I didn't have the budget approval. I eventually settled on a bunch of the cutest mugs, some hot cocoa mix and gorgeous candy canes. Simple, yet super festive! We then filled the mugs with a bunch of Seattle Chocolates. It was quite a few mugs to wrap up and bag, so I asked what they had and Emily offered to not only wrap up each one, but to remove the price tags and everything! At the time, the store was super busy, so I offered to come back later to pick it all up after her team had a chance to wrap it and bag it. I got a call about 45 minutes later that it was all ready! Can't say enough about the service I got from Lucky You! Thank you for the help, Emily! On another note, if your Christmas decorations need a "refresh", Lucky You should be your next stop! The store is packed with unique decorations that will turn any room into a "Christmas Wonderland"!

Can definitely see how Hobby Lobby will continue to succeed in the craft, arts, and home decor…read morecategory while its competitors either close (JoAnn's) or struggle (Michael's). It has the best selection and very competitive prices without complicated coupons and sales. We are creatures of habit, with my wife using JoAnn's Fabric for her sewing crafting needs because that's where her family shopped while she was young. Later Michael's became the place as they expanded and opened new stores in our area, and her other mom friends recommended. Now Hobby Lobby seems to be the place as we convert to an empty nest and help my newlywed daughter decorate her new place. This location isn't as new as the ones we have been going to in California, and wasn't nearly as well staffed. In our case, we were able to find everything on our own. I did learn that items marked as 'Your Price' (which is a large portion of the store) is the final low price, no other discounts apply. The vast majority of product are inhouse brands, with the price preprinted (which saves labor on pricing tasks). The only hiccup was that nobody was actively manning the registers when there were no customers, and could only scale to one register even with many customers waiting. But as I've recognized, personalized customer interaction is more important than speed and efficiency at craft stores, and it's obviously working for them.

Huge aisles, loads of stuff, and wow, overwhelming and huge!! I'm not necessarily a crafty person but, if you are, this is your spot. I do love the inexpensive T-shirt's in the back of you're looking for a plain T-shirt to craft on. Parking lot is easy, and staff friendly and helpful as I was looking for a specific item and they helped save me from wandering all over looking for craft lace. If you have a project to do this place will have it. They also had the most home supplies and decorations I've seen if you're looking for that kind of stuff. Happy yelping.

WARNING: DON'T EXPECT YOUR QUESTIONS TO BE ANSWERED…read more I called 3 minutes after opening and Frank was still on his way to the store and told me he would call me back, which is fine and I did appreciate the follow up and call back 10 minutes later. Since we have a small family room, the first question I asked was if a specific measurement range for sofas were available to make and/or try at the store. The second question I asked was regarding the fabric material and if it pils. My third question I asked was regarding the material of the cushion/if it was made of memory foam. As soon as I asked this third question, I was told that I asked too many questions and advised to go to La-Z-Boy or come in person to his store, not to mention that he quickly hung up on me. I did not realize that asking three questions, let alone shortly after opening hours, was considered too many questions. Instead of taking ownership of not knowing the answer to my third question, I was gaslit into thinking that I was in the wrong for asking that question and turned away as a potential customer. I wanted to be supportive of a local business but it seems like customer service is much better in larger chain retailers. The only positive was that I didn't waste my time driving there and experience the worst customer service in person.
