The setting of the restaurant is relaxing and a perfect place to have a coffee and conversation. The pierogis are hand made with care and cooked to perfection, they even sell them frozen to go. Caesar Pierogi is cutely decorated inside and out, with a display of colorful umbrellas on Irving Park Road serving as appropriate outdoor decorations on this drizzly day. We sat in "Booth Number One" for maximum enjoyment, though our cozy window niche was a warm and tight fit. We liked the meat pierogis, with a little pot of six pierogis offering a tasty and not overly doughy texture. The tamale was fluffy with a slight zingy flavor to it. The proprietors (father and son I believe) do not mind a bit of chit chat, and I truly believe I will try some gelato next time around. read more

We stopped at Caesar Pierogi for a small bite, and we were not disappointed. First of all, the inside is as charming as charming can get! I enjoy taking photos to later scrapbook our adventures, and the seat we had by the window has me completely stoked to scrapbook the pics from here. We did the meat (pork) pierogis and a tamale. They were both excellent, and the customer service was top-tier. Both gentlemen working were fun and kind. Though, we were told our total was $10,000! Ha, one of the guys is clearly a jokester, which made the visit just that much more fun. Since it was a warm day when we were there, I have to admit, it was a tad too warm for my preference in the small space. The spinach-feta was by far my favorite! My food and coffee was served in a timely manner and it was prepared right in-front on the counter. What a lovely restaurant! Close to home and with a wide variety of pierogis to choose from, this location is not to be missed. The inside is quaint and we were explained all the menu items and the vast array of tea flavors. We ordered the potato/onion, potato/cheddar/bacon, and chocolate pierogis. All were delicious. My spouse also loved his pickle soup. I tried the lavender earl grey tea and it was also very good. We got our food as soon as it was ready and it felt like we were having pierogis with friends. I really enjoyed my time here and think more people should try it out. They also offer frozen pierogis to bring home too. We will be back. read more

5 stars all around! My only complaint is at myself for living so close, and not coming in sooner. We were looking for a dog friendly restaurant on a chilly day, so we preferred to eat indoors. When we first walked in the space looked small for our large dog, and there were two other tables of people, so we almost opted out. Caesar and the other guests were very welcoming, bade us to stay, and even moved some tables around to accommodate our group of 5 people & 2 dogs. Eating here is an entire experience! First, they have the cutest tea sets and dishes along the wall that are for sale, and the interior is super cute and cozy. We had no clue what to order, so Caesar came and explained the variety of perogies to us, so we decided to start with those. We had the Ukrainian potato & cheese, mushroom & mozzarella, bacon potato & cheese, spinach & feta, and chocolate perogies. Caesar cooks the food right in front of you behind the café counter. Each crock of perogies is served with a thick slice of butter that's left to melt for a bit before enjoying. Every single one was absolutely delicious, but my favorite were definitely the mushroom & mozzarella, full of umami goodness with the perfect amount of cheese. I was hesitant regarding the chocolate ones (my daughter was the one who requested them), but I was pleasantly surprised. They are a little smaller than your average pierogi, and I'm not 100%, but I think the dough was a little thinner. The inside was decadent, and put me in mind of a chocolate truffle... soooo good! We also tried the French onion soup, which is made in house, to order. Caesar said the soup is made with a hint of white wine, and the flavor was phenomenal, with the perfect amount of melty cheese and crusty bread. My other daughter had a raspberry pastry that was also super tasty. We finished everything off with some sipping chocolates for each of us. I thought this was just hot chocolate, but I was wrong. I had the dark chocolate, and my daughter had the milk. It is much thicker than hot chocolate, like if you dip a spoon in, the spoon will come out coated. The purveyor said that if you were to refrigerate it, then it would become a mousse. It was the perfect end to a perfect meal. The service was very attentive, and Caesar is very welcoming, personable, and knowledgeable of all the items served. I loved that we were able to bring our dogs in the café for dine in (they enjoyed it too). Every single item we tasted was great, and I will definitely be back to try more perogies as well as the pizza pot pie. They take cash and card. Free street parking is available up & down Irving Park. Careful not to drive too fast & miss it, look for the colorful umbrellas and ice cream stand in the front. read more

Came in to buy some loose leaf teas. When I first came in, the employees were very rude and pushy. Picked out some tea, and they said the tea comes in two sizes. I picked the small size of the tea (about a 1oz vial) expecting it to be $3-$5 ish, as that is what all of the other loose leaf tea shops in Chicago charge per oz. Turns out, they charge $11 per vial. Incredibly overpriced for loose leaf tea, so will not be coming back. read more

BEST pierogi's I've had, and Caesar is a character for sure. My friend went KRAZY upset here! But "no one's perfect," as Caesar said lol. Nice setup inside tho kind crammed. Meat, pork, pierogis were best, but really they are all tasty! Potato, cheese, onion all good. They have some desserts also. Some are outsourced like the creme brulee, which was tops. The pizza pot pie everyone talks about is just okay to me, it's in Chicago so you know there's so much pizza here the competition if fiercer than a Roman gladiator match! The food was great. Service was extremely slow and unattentively. Yes, it is a good restaurant/cafe. The prices are very high. There is no menu with the bill of fare and pricing. 6 perogies cost $10.95. The server will invite you to add onion and butter but that increases the cost by $2.44. This totals $13.39 for 6 perogies. Not, including tax or gratuity. The perogies are on the small side. The stuffing/filling in the perogies is minimum. I'm Polish. In my many years of Polish, I have had homemade perogies from grandma, perogies in Poland, in Chicago restaurants, store purchased fresh, store purchased frozen. When presented a picture of perogies to select and to order no prices displayed. I was charged a higher price than what the server announced. Can I trust the server? For example, the server said the 6 perogies were $6.95. If you are at all on a budget, you might want to consider finding another restaurant/cafe. If you do go, remember to ask about prices at the time you place your order, the pricing is word of mouth from the server, knowing that even adding butter on the perogies costs extra, but the server does not tell you this information. read more

Different in a really good way! I really like this place! Christian was gracious in explaining how everything works to me and here's my take. Positives: -Cozy Atmosphere: Good for a date or business lunch. They provide limited outdoor dining and do cater for groups too. - Unique offerings! One thing that I LOVED? The variety lunch! For under $10 you can mix and match your 6 pierogis! -Gluten Free Pierogis! They exist! Right here! - Hours of Operation: they are open for lunch! Brgrbelly up the street opens at 5pm and these guys seem to be the only game in town in the area. There is a Hubs chicken place across the street but tbh it looks shady af and I didn't want to go there. - Ukrainian Options! They have a Ukrainian pierogi! Go Ukraine! - Coffee! Growth Opportunities: - Beverage selection was very limited. No diet sodas available which surprised me. I ended up with a sparkling water but I'd suggest they bring in some cans of Diet Coke. -Boiled pierogis seemed to be the only option. I prefer mine cooked in oil on a stove top but boiling for whatever reason was the option they offered. - Just to get some greens in the diet, I would have loved if they had offered something to eat with the pierogis on the side like a salad. It's inexpensive, healthy, filling and makes me feel better about eating dough Overall: Overall a good experience! I got 2 potato cheddar & bacon, 2 sauerkraut and mushroom and two pulled pork. All three are unique offerings and all three weren't good, they were great! My favorite was the potato cheddar and bacon as it went majestically well with their fresh sour cream. Tbh these were the best tasting pierogis I have had! And that's WITH them being boiled! So this is a huge bonus and I love supporting small businesses. Caesar, what a great and considerate person. Last Sunday I had to walk a few blocks because of of high traffic. Caesar was considered because of us having to drive about an hour and a half to get home with the frozen pierogi. He packed them in two styrofoam containers with ice packs. Very considerate and now I have my purse and the two styrofoam containers. Caesar said would walk me to my car. But I told him that nobody else was going to be in the store and he said it was ok. As we were walking he said he was hoping my husband wasn't the jealous type . We laughed and he placed them in the car and he said just bring them back the next time you come back!!
