It was a little too thick lol, but I had them grind them down a little the next visit and it was better after that. Some more extroverted people probably want the chitchat but I also like that if I'm not in the mood to be super chatty he doesn't pester me for casual conversation. He just has his gardening videos playing on YouTube in the background as he works and it gives me something to zone out to. He's fast and efficient. The place is no-frills so it's not super luxurious but I don't need a five-star experience and appreciate that the pricing reflects that. I don't have a ton of cash to spare as a single mom and hate that it costs a bundle to maintain my nails every few weeks and stretch it out as long as I can because I've always struggled to justify spending on self-care. It's located across the wedding dress store. It's cluttered, older, a little outdated, but honestly it doesn't bother me. I think it's super adorable, it's a small business and honestly very fairly priced. I called ahead to make sure they were free to do a mani+pedi. They finished two people on the chairs and I sat in the third. Kim did my service. Some things that popped into my head, I was a little concerned about the tools sitting in a cup. The tools may have been cleaned, but was the cup cleaned? The caddy she used looked a little unclean. The pedicure and manicure, honestly it was probably one of the least detailed services I've ever had in a nail salon. I attached photos which I'm dreading because I have wide feet and non too feminine hands lol. But the nails weren't cut evenly and were not filed down evenly. Lots of cuticles were not clipped. I was charged $40 total which is cheap imo, I opted not to get polished because I'm letting my nail beds breathe for a couple months before the summer months. I tipped $20. Anywho, a better job could've been done, at least the minimum of filing the nails evenly and cleaning up the cuticles. Besides that, things to note, it seems like they have a lot of long time regulars that really care about them. They are very sweet people, but they should definitely work on doing more quality work, meaning, at least doing the minimum. Which I would've been completely fine with giving 5 stars for. But seeing my hands and feet after, I definitely won't be coming back again. I'm wondering if the other technicians are better? Besides that, it's really affordable in today's market of mani+pedi but that means you're getting less than minimum of a clean up.

The folks that work here are so nice and they listen to what you need. My problem is with the quality of what I ended up with. I wanted so much to give a really good review here. Sadly, I can't do that. I asked for a seemingly simple design, but the information was not relayed or absorbed well so that didn't happen. What I ended up with was still a very pretty cat eye. The problem with the whole thing is that the next day, my polish started peeling. Dark colors take longer to set and this has a black base. The black base had not cured completely, and was now pulling up. I figured out what the problem was and I pulled up the layer of polish and got some alcohol on it so that it wouldn't get sticky everywhere. I would have gone back to the shop so they could fix it, but they were closed as it was a Sunday. I was willing to give them a chance to fix it. Now today, two days later, it's happening again. I have all these supplies at home so I'm going to just take care of it myself. Why didn't I do this all myself? Because sometimes it's nice to have someone else pamper you and do it for you. I know I'm exceptionally picky, and I need to just do it myself going forward. My notes to the shop here are, please watch how thick you're putting on the polish and please make sure that it cures all the way before you go to the next step. I don't mind having paid for the full set because the shape of them is exactly what I wanted. It was just the polish that was a problem. Going forward, I will just continue to do my nails myself.
