I went to Pewter for the first time a few days ago. It is an appointment only salon. When you arrive you text her that you're there and she let's you know when she's ready for you to enter the salon. I have been looking for a salon that specializes in doing natural nails. I've had acrylic and gel nails and they just ruined my natural nails. Michelle is meticulous about sanitation, which I love because I have had problems with other places not being as clean as I think they should be. I was blown away by the service and education that Michelle provided. It was about how water effects the nails as well as how the shape of the nail makes a difference in breakage. She also sells a cuticle oil that is lovely. It smells like almonds and has already made a difference in my cuticles. She also takes her time to do the manicure correctly. No being super aggressive with my cuticles. She trimmed them back properly and without any pain or bleeding, which I've had happen at some other salons. They are usually in too big of a hurry and nip me, which I hate. Michelle put a CND shellac nail polish that went on beautifully. I actually had a design put on my third fingers for Halloween. It's the shadow of a kitty cat. And Michelle used a something called cat's eye to highlight my french style manicure. It was a really cool process that I haven't seen at any other salon. Her service is a little more expensive than the cheap salons, but with the amount of time she takes to do a proper manicure I find the price to be very reasonable. If I could give Pewter more than 5 stars, I absolutely would. Pewter may not be the place for you - but if it is the place for you, it's THE ONLY place for you. If you need drop in appointments at the drop of a hat - go to a salon at the mall. If you are into long acrylic nails - that's cool, but go elsewhere. If you are looking for gel nails; if you are concerned with the health of your nails/if your nails are thin from other salons sanding shellac off; if you are a perfectionist - this is IT. Really, if you are a perfectionist, this is IT. I've never had such consistently flawless nails - you will NEVER leave with streaks, lumpy application, or weird little bubbles. In fact, I've never seen any other nail tech get such a clean application OR so close to the cuticle. Pewter specializes in CND Shellac (a type of gel shellac that is amazing compared to what other salons typically use - removal is WAY easier and requires NO power tools), nail health, and nail art. Michelle has close to every color of CND shellac and a treasure chest of nail art accoutrements and embellishments (crystals, chrome, cat eye, foil - you name it!) The salon is peaceful and not crowded with a million chairs - you're never going to feel rushed or like your nail tech's attention is divided. Your service is YOUR service. Appointment only and there is a fee for last minute cancellations, which TBH is only fair for a small business - and fully worth it for what you leave with. 10/10 stars, never going anywhere else. read more

I too like a few other women here got tired of the abuse your nails go through on a regular basis dealing with acrylic nails. I was looking to get my nails as healthy as possible. I've been looking at a few places in Cason and Reno too and I'm glad I finally found Michelle at Pewter Nail Spa. When you see Michelle make sure you have enough time to spend pampering yourself and enjoy a glass of your favorite wine or champagne otherwise you're cheating yourself out of a true relaxing experience. I was in much need of a pedicure and had my two toes hurting with some ingrown nails that were forming. I opted for the Platinum Package and I'm not sure I'll ever have anything else. My feet were feeling amazingly soft afterwards. All the pain and stress in my feet magically melted away under Michelle's care. Michelle not only knows her stuff when it comes to healthy nails but is very passionate about what she does. She's very meticulous in her work and takes great pride in what she does. She takes time to get to know what you're looking for in your fist consultation and gives you appropriate suggestions. She also informs you and gives you the best advice she can for your particular situation; things you can do on your own to maintain your hands and feet in between visits. For me, it was an ultra moisturizing nail and cuticle oil and a hand cream. It's not very often that you find a person like Michelle in this business. She's just one of a kind. I have been a client of Michelle since June 2019 and enjoy every service. From a solid color set to nail art I've desired, I leave happy each time and I always get compliments. I've also learned so much about nail health as she also takes the time to educate you. Her emphasis and concern for healthy nails has benefited my nails so much! Friendly staff, super clean space (above and beyond covid standard). I'm not sure but I felt like the woman who did my Shellac mani & pedi was new because my services took super long, but thankfully I had all the time in the world and enjoyed the very quiet and pleasant space. With that being said my nails are flawless! I can tell Sarah is a perfectionist and it will take some time for her to pick up the speed, but I absolutely LOVE how they came out! Thank you Sarah & Michelle (owner) for all of the super helpful and useful education! I left knowing a lot more than I knew before! I also purchased their Winter Warmth foot scrub. It smells amazing. Desteny did a GREAR JOB at my nail removal!!! initially i had gel-tip with diamonds, as u can see in pic 3. It took her about an hour to remove all of these. She soaked the nails because i wanted to keep my natural nail length, then filed them lightly. Overall i'm really happy with the results!!! my nail surfaces are smooth and the hard gel was removed completely. the owner, Michelle, was welcoming and very nice to me. They charged me $45. I don't know the usual price for a nail removal because this is the first time I have done it in the States, but I think the pricing is fair because Desteny clearly took her time carefully removing each one. Michelle is beyond amazing! Extremely informed, quite agreeable and so very friendly. She took me on as a client for a short time, and I felt fortunate and grateful in her doing so. This wonderful woman's services' are utterly impeccable! She uses shellac products which are a ton better for your nail health and focuses on your specified nail goals. On the other hand she doesn't offer acrylic of any kind which was specifically what I was looking for. In addition & unfortunately our time slots didn't line up as well. I came to Pewter Nail Spa, which I happened to find on Yelp, because I no longer wanted to get hard gel nails and wanted to get my natural nails back to being strong. Pewter is an adorable little gem! There is always calming music playing to relax you. The decor is so amazing. You can really tell the owner took a lot of care and thought into making this place feel like home for their customers. It was so nice going to her being new to town as she was basically a personal guide and friend for the community. I have been going to Michelle at Pewter nail spa for about 6 months now, and she is absolutely incredible. I have been to many inexpensive as well as quite a few expensive nail spas and have never received a service and quality even close to that of what Michelle offers. Michelle always listens to what I want and if I have any issues she's quick to fix it. The first time I went to her, she asked me what I'm looking for in my service and what was important (to which I said price and no gaps between my skin and the nails) and neither have ever been a problem. As a college student, it's hard for me to add nail service into my budget, but Michelle's prices are so affordable. Pewter is amazing! I found this place after I had acrylics on, and needed someone trustworthy to take them off and minimize the damage to my nails. Michele was so beyond patient and careful (even though it took 2 hours) and got the job done. After that, I booked regular gel manicures with her until I moved out of the area. She, as well as the rest of the team there, are fabulous, and very meticulous. Pewter is not like your normal nail salon! They are appointment only (and they do book out at least a few days so keep that in mind), and you are often the only client in the salon. They are not like any other nail salon I have ever been to! Kim is just amazing! My mom came in off the Yelp reviews and gave me a gift certificate to get gel polish on my fingers and a regular pedicure. Kim called me after I made an appointment online to confirm and make sure that worked for me. She opened an hour early so I could get my fingers and toes done at the same time. Not only was she prompt in communication for scheduling (and rescheduling...) me, she was incredibly professional and friendly. My mani and pedi turned out beautifully. Additionally, she was very prompt and quick with her services without sacrificing quality. The salon is in a house built in 1935 and it is very quaint and homey. I had no problem parking. I like my beauty professionals to be knowledgeable. I want them to know more than me about my [hair, nails, whatever] and not be shy about sharing that knowledge with me. I want them to encourage me to break bad habits, and remind me about what those habits should be when I undoubtedly fall back into them. Michelle, the owner of Pewter, fills that need for my nails. She knows a lot, uses amazing products, and reminds me not to pick off my gel polish before I show up for my refresh. She makes sure that I stick to my every-two-week schedule, and she really focuses on improving the health and appearance of my fingernails. She's super OCD, so she's going to take her time making sure every bit of it is perfect. She has a great selection of colors and (from what I hear) can do amazing designs as well. If you remember, make sure to get the EcoFin treatment, you'll be amazed at how wonderful your hands feel for the next two weeks. She also takes the polish off in a way that doesn't damage your nail as much, so the health actually improves over time. I came to this salon because it's super close to my house, and I was in serious need of some pampering. And pampering is what I got! I walked in and was greeted by two women, and asked if they could take a walk it. Thankfully, they said yes. I filled out a little customer questionnaire, offered wine(um, yes please!) And was brought back to a cute little pedicure room. They have custom built pedicure thrones that were super adorable and comfy! I sat down with my wine and told Michelle that I wanted mermaid toes.
