Until yesterday we have taken all our personal vehicles as well as our company trucks. Yesterday I brought my truck in and specifically asked Barry to check my air since I knew they were low. While there I see Barry spilling oil (a lot) over the top of my engine. Then as he is trying to get me out the bay I asked him if he checked the air. He stated that he did. I replied the pressure hasn't changed. Caiden the MOD told him to check it again. Amazingly all 4 tires needed air. I stated so you didn't check the air before. He said No have a good day. I parked my truck after the oil started smoking on the engine and had a discussion with Caiden which turned heated because he kept interrupting and refused to give me district manager's number. Today I found oil under my truck. I took my truck to the Barataria Blvd location in Marero, LA. I told him what happened and I was worried that plug was loose or stripped. He personally went underneath and said that the old oil from the filter must have spilled and soaked the frame rail and that (Daquin) did not clean it up. After cleaning my engine and frame rail he checked the oil. It was almost a quart low. He then stated they didn't fill up the water reservoir for the wiper. About two years ago I took my truck to get an oil change and lil while later my engine started knocking and the engine shuts off so I took it to a local mechanic and found out that take 5 put too small of an oil filter that it was starving my engine of oil . read more

The service here was great! I usually have such anxiety about getting my oil changed. I usually bring it to a place like Firestone and it takes all day. I never thought to try one of these "quick change" places and I will never go back to the other place. WARNING: DO NOT BRING YOUR CAR HERE, OR TO ANY TAKE 5. A few months ago I decided to bring my car to Take 5 because of their speedy service. However, this resulted in me not having a car for an entire week and paying $700 to fix it. A few days after my oil change, my car began to shake. Lights were popping up on the dashboard that seemed unrelated to the oil change. I then brought it to my dealership. After a few days of running diagnostics, they determined that I received a faulty oil change. Take 5 placed the wrong oil filter on my vehicle, which caused improper flow of oil throughout the timing chain. I immediately called the Take 5 manager. He proceeded to tell me that according to their policy, nothing can be done because I didn't bring my car to Take 5 first to be diagnosed and the dealership is lying to me. The manager offered no help or resolution. He said that the only thing they can offer me is a free oil change. WHY would I ever go back? Not to mention that the service I received was subpar at best. They were overall nice, but they didn't even do half the things they are supposed to. I did not receive any wiper fluid service. They did not check my tires. They did the absolute bare minimum for a hefty $110. Take 5 is not in the business of giving you a quality oil change. They are in the business of cutting corners and overcharging their customers. I have reached out to Take 5 numerous times through email, and have received no response. Overall, it is extremely risky bringing your car here. They may mess up your vehicle and refuse to take responsibility. I recently visited another vehicle repair shop, and they said they had 3 cars that are currently being serviced due to recent Take 5 oil changes. read more

I was actually pretty skeptical coming here. All my past experience with oil changes has always taken at least an hour. So I've always had to drop off my car and had some one else drive me. Then I got the direct mail card (advertising does work!!!) and read it was a drive through. I thought the concept was too interesting to not to try it. Well I rolled on up on a Friday morning, there was no wait and I timed it. How can they possibly change my oil in such a short amount of time? Well they did! It took them 13 minutes and it would've been shorter but I kept asking questions! They were extremely friendly as well and they even give a discount for military! I love everything about this Westbank location! The staff here does a phenomenal job explaining everything you need to know and then some. Pulling up, they're already giving you a nice cold bottle of water on a hot N'awlins day! If you're a repeat customer they already know what you need before you need it. They don't try to upsale you things you don't need. And they always top you off with fluids, air and the anything else free! These guys are like family! These guys forgot to refill my oil, completely fried my engine, then tried to tell me that it was my mechanic who damaged the car, not the fact that they didn't put oil in it and it was smoking & shaking and flashing dashboard lights on its way back across the bridge. It was like a freaking KISS concert in my car. The guy from corporate was a total a**hole to me, to my mechanic, and to my insurance agent on the phone and they quite obviously were lying about their lab tests, as the independent lab I had my tests sent to had the opposite result. Now it's almost a year later, my insurance stopped pursuing the case because it wasn't worth enough to them, and I am left paying at least $1500 out of pocket after deductible, testing fees, rental fees, cab rides, etc. I was out of a car for 8 weeks. I went to buy a new car the other day and was told my trade in was going to be at least $3K less than it should be because the engine was replaced, even though it's almost a new engine. I'm now in the process of filing suit, which I've ever done before, but you know what? I tried to get them to make nice and be honest and they wouldn't. So f**k them. Just saying, don't bring your car here. They may not refill it. And if they damage your car, they'll lie cheat and steal to escape culpability. read more

This place has got it right. Got me in a bay in less than five minutes, did the oil, checked the air in the tires, topped off windshield fluid, checked the battery, cleaned the windsield, a couple other checks, offered a soda while we waited, and we were done. $42 with tax. read more

I've been coming to this shop for several years now and I've had great experiences every time. The staff have always been super friendly and they do the work as fast as a accurately can. They are efficient and effective. I highly recommend the location at 1700 Manhattan Blvd. in Harvey, specifically, having never been to any other Take 5. I moved to Westwego, but I trust this particular store so much that I still visit there even though its at least 15 minutes from my house. read more

They put the wrong cars stickers on my car which had 14,000 more miles than mine did while telling me I go too long between oil changes... they paid no attention to the mileage on the vehicle or they would have realized their mistake. As he's telling me I went way too long without changing my oil, he didn't even realize the mileage he thinks I have gone is way over what my odometer says... I will find another place to go. They were careless and didn't pay attention. This kind of carelessness could have put the wrong oil in my car luckily I checked the Manuel to make sure he put the right oil in. read more

Been on a road trip and drive more than I thought I would so needed to get a chance before the next couple thousand miles home. Saw these guys the other day with a sign trying to get business. I accidentally came here today not realizing it was tbe same shop. No customers were there so I was right in, they offered a beverage to each of us including the kids and snacks for them. Had the car drained and filled and ready to go in 5 minutes. The three guys there today worked seamlessly talking back and forth to signal the draining the filling etc. (I also saw them fill it and they verified no leaks and showed me the dipstick when they were done. I am sold hope we have these back home. Got back to the hotel no problems so far. If I had read the reviews earlier I wouldn't have gone but seems either the staff has changed or I made it on a good day. read more

I have never done a quickee oil change before...and now I am a fan! We rolled up, they had up pop our hood then when it was our turn, we drove on in. THe customer service was OUTSTANDING!!
