Grad party attendees at the food truck

We just celebrated our group of 6 Boise High graduates with a large party and hired Lucky Root Tacos. I speak for all of the parents when I say the service, food, selection, setup, and pricing were excellent! Everyone raved about the food, the line moved quickly, and the owners were friendly and welcoming from the moment the truck arrived until they were leaving several hours and 300 people later! I highly recommend them and I plan to hire them again.

Lucky Root Lucky Root is a Meridian-based food truck owned by Sergio Larios and Cindy Channel. Chef Larios, who used to work at Copper Canyon restaurant in Nampa, uses French cooking techniques to master the perfect taco. Those techniques likely include sautéing, braising, sous vide and confit. I visited this hard to find food truck on October 12, 2020. The small menu had four items. I ordered one of each of the three taco and two jalapeño poppers: Sonora Asada taco ($3.50) - steak sautéed with onions, whole pinto beans, avocado salsa, red salsa and avocado Michoacán Pork Pork ($3.25) - smoked pulled pork taco, avocado salsa, red salsa and fresh chopped salsa Colima Chicken taco ($2.75) - smoked chicken, fresh chopped salsa and green salsa Jalapeño Poppers ($1.25 each) I liked each of the tacos, which were different than any I've had before. What stood out was the tenderness of the meat and the flavor combinations. I didn't care for the jalapeño poppers. Although they were handmade and wrapped with a nice piece of bacon, they were soft when biting into them. Most likely, this is because the food truck doesn't have a fryer on it. My recommendation is to do away with the jalapeño poppers or run them through an air fryer. The best way to locate this food truck is to check Payette Brewing Company's website's food truck schedule. Lucky Root was there on 12/21. They are on the schedule three more times in December 2020.

The pulled pork is amazing! Chicken tacos weren't bad either. Can't wait to get more.

Best street tacos and great chips too. Generous portions and reasonably priced. We will definitely follow them.
