The service was mediocre at best but got even worse when the food was served. The server just tossed the meals onto the table, not caring if the right meal was given to the right person. So we went to switch the plates but we couldn't because the plates were super hot....scalding hot. She delivered them with a potholder but couldn't be bothered to warn us the plates were super hot. This is an open restaurant with plenty of seating. They sat us immediately and were quick to bring out chips, salsa and dip. We got margaritas which were just okay on my opinion, they didn't stand out to me in any kind of way. I got the carnitas burrito and it was absolute perfection. The flavor combination of the meat, the cheese, peppers and tortilla was just mouth watering. The meat was seasoned well and fell apart in your mouth. It was super tasty. My roommate got the carne asada tacos and she liked hers a lot as well. Our server was extremely friendly and kind and made us want to come back again. Nothing special about this place. Since it was my first time trying it, I went with my standard of chili relleno. This was a lunch combination, so it came with refried beans and Spanish rice. First off, I always try the a chicken Mole! The Mole here should be called Onion Mole... way too many onions & too sweet. I been to mi casa a few times and I must say that every time I been here I am very satisfied with the quality of my food, the tastes of my food and the friendliness of the staff. Today I order the fajitas and we order the steak and chicken fajitas and we love the chicken more than the asada. When it comes to Spanish rice in Mexican restaurants either its good or just plan bad but Mi casa definitely got the rice right it has actual flavor it's most and not dry and it's actually red not kinda red. The only bad thing I have to say about MI casa is that they serve Pepsi sad moment for me I am a Coca-Cola person. Still pretty happy with this Mexican restaurant. read more

Dropped into Mi Casa on a work trip to Boise. The location isn't too far from downtown, about 15 minutes. The restaurant itself is decorated with sombereros and Mexican blankets and Mexican music was playing in the background. The server was really friendly and made us feel more then welcome. We had a couple of Spanish speakers in the group and he was able to toggle back and forth with them which was kinda fun. One of my favorite things were the beans -they served them with the free chips In addition to many of the entrees. They were not canned and flavorful! For my entree I ordered the cheese enchiladas with beans and rice. The rice was full of flavor and the enchilada sauce was solid. The portion sizes are more then generous and you will definitely walk away full! I would come here again! read more

We have been to this place several times now while visiting the area. We love the family atmosphere of this place and how friendly everyone is. The food is always good, great margaritas and what's most important and what I judge every Mexican restaurant on first and foremost is the chips and salsa. They nail it! The service was bad the women seemed to be more worried about her kids then serving. Great place to take the family. We decided to enjoy taco Tuesday at Mi Casa Mexican Restaurant. We were seated immediately and received great service. The place did fill up while we were there so there were some delays in checking in. Our waiter was great. He answered our questions and brought us out food that was delicious. As we live 30 miles away it's been 4 years ago since 1st visit. That time we were astounded how good it was especially for a strip mall restaurant. Good prices, large quantities, good service and spicey authentic flavors. In fact I took pictures of the dinners to send to my kids bragging what a great find by accident. This time prices although higher we're still fair, quantities we're still large, service was fantastic but also we believe the authentic spicey flavors have been toned down to "Americanize" to the mass public. We had my husbands Birthday Dinner Their recently and the place had tables spaced out for social distancing which we appreciated. The food was very good and I have picky eaters so It was good! The service was good from our waitress and all of the other waiters as well who as they passed by to their tables asked if we needed anything. Went to this restaurant recently for the first time. The food was decent but on the expensive side. But I saw the prices before I ordered it and I iit did not matter to me. If I didn't like the food, I wouldn't come there again so one time expensive meal wouldn't be that big of a deal. The service is good, and the food came in a timely manner the waitress was and professional and friendly. No problem is there. When I got my food that I ordered I thought I could use some sour cream so I ordered a side of it figuring I have to pay for it but no problem. The waitress didn't tell me the price of it and I didn't really expect it. When I got my bill, I noticed the price for a side of sour cream was $3.50. A side of sour cream. You can get a 16 ounce tub of sour cream from Albertsons for around $2.50 and this was no wear near 16 ounces. It was not some special Mexican sour cream with spices. They didn't have to milk a cow and make their own sour cream. It was just a standard sour cream. You can get in any grocery store in the country. I put the price of the amount of sour cream. They gave me at $.50 which I know was probably a lot less than that. That makes this a 700% markup. I couldn't understand I'm charging a dollar or $1.50 and maybe even two dollars but it was unbelievable that they would charge $3.50. I know this may sound petty and I can easily afford $3.50. But I could not believe they could charge this price for something they did not have to do anything with. I will not ever eat at this restaurant again just because of the gall of them for charging $3.50 for something that cost less than $.50. read more

We were in town for a wedding and saw this place here on Yelp. 12 of us showed up for lunch and they accommodated all of us very well. The place was very clean, including the restrooms. The chips salsa were great! We all got several different items that included chimichangas, shredded beef burritos, and shrimp fajitas. Everyone loved their food. I am writing this 2 star reveiw mainly to talk about the menu that was uploaded by the business on to yelp, and even the menu on their own website, as they all have INCORRECT PRICES. The prices have been raised and do not reflect the current prices, which is false advertising. I ordered take out yesterday and was a bit annoyed that it was listed on yelp BY THE BUSINESS- Patron Special as $16.95, but when I went to pick up my food I was charged 19.99!! That's about $3 more! Uhhh..what the?!? I then checked their own website and the price was still wrong- Patron Special listed as $18.95. This is terrible and needs to be fixed. Just check out the pictures. Best Mexican in greater Boise area! My husband and I are very fussy about our Mexican and after trying 11 other Mexican restaurants in the area in the last year, we had given up our search to find a go-to spot in our new hometown. We stopped in here for lunch one day after discovering that Buffalo Wild Wings still has their dining room closed, which turned out to be a blessing! The salsa is fresh and just spicy enough, margaritas are tart with fresh lime taste (not sugary or syrupy), and bean dip is hot and savory. When our entrees arrived I was thrilled with my extra crunchy flautas and mildly seasoned chicken; my husband raved about the Super Burrito exploding with flavor. To top it off, the service was speedy and abundantly friendly. The waitress remembered to leave the guacamole off my husband's burrito which is rare. FIRST OFF, I want to point out that this review is based off their food only as I got a to-go order and have yet to dine in! Now back to your regularly scheduled review... I was craving Mexican food as it was a day of the week that ended in "y" so I decided to branch out and check Yelp to see what had good reviews near me that I haven't tried yet. MI CASA IT IS! Great reviews, good lookin pictures, nice selection...could THIS be the new go-to spot for local Mexican food?!?! The lady and I ordered three different things to split...we got their seafood burrito, a bean and cheese burrito, and chicken nachos. Let's do some pros and cons: Pros...the food was all really good! Super tasty. The seafood burrito had a ton of flavor with ok-sized chunks of fish and ummmm other seafood pieces which I already forgot about. The sauce they made and used in the burrito was fantastic. Almost like a creamy sauce but not too much, but generally super tasty. The bean and cheese burrito was a very good bean and cheese burrito and was covered in some red sauce that actually made it potentially better. That brings me to the beans and rice, both of which were good. Excuse my lack of adjectives but I'm not sure else how to describe them...super good. They also have a pretty good sized bag of chips to munch on, which, surprise surprise, were also good. As for the nachos, they were....yeah, you know. Good. Again, I want to use different adjectives but it wasn't too much more or less than good. Overall, the food was good(omg no more with the good please). Cons...before I start these, once again keep in mind that this review is based on take out and not eating in house. For what you get, it's too expensive. I wanna know what they give you if eating in house, but the to-go version doesn't give you enough entree for the amount they charge. We spent over 40 bucks for three items that was all dominated in one sitting. Furthermore, they only have two small sides of salsa for the generous side of chips they gave. It wasn't enough salsa even really for a small side. But I digress...let me get back to the lack of food they give you for the mains...the seafood burrito, while very good, was incredibly lacking in terms of actual seafood and "innards." At first glance, it looks pretty big as it's a long tortilla with plenty of sauce and melted cheese on top. But as soon as you cut in, it's mostly tortilla! What the crap?! Both ends of the burrito are like 3 inches of tortilla before you even get to any other ingredients, and then when you hit those, it's just a thin layer. Again, tasty, but disappointing. I would have been happy with both burritos if they were about 5 bucks less each based on the amount they give you. $12.99 for the seafood burrito would have been perfect and given this a higher review, not $17.99. Also more salsa. Duh. Now with all this being said, at some point, I WILL go here again and eat in-house to see what's different. Maybe they have some crucially good margaritas? Maybe they make the entrees bigger when they put it on their plates? Maybe they will just straight refill your salsa when you quickly run out?!?? These are things that will one day be discovered. read more
