Update: The broken pay phone is gone. Today I bought some Mrs. Cubbisons stuffing for Thanksgiving. I got home and noticed it expired in July of 2020! This is not the first time I've bought expired items here. I don't recommend buying boxed pantry items from this store The meat selection and quality is ok. I'm not really sure what to say about this place. Is it affordable? Sure! Is it the best value you can find among competing stores? I'm honestly not sure, but it's still really affordable. The staff is a hard one to gauge. You'll have the people who want to help, then you have the people who just flat out hate their jobs and the people they deal with. For the most part stuff is pretty well stocked up. Try picking up stuff earlier in the week when the sale cycles start because you might not be able to find it after a few days. You can find you basic necessities here. The prices are on par with other cheap grocery places. The store is pretty much organized but fairly run down looking. It could use some TLC. If you really find a sweet deal go ahead and take a shot. If not I would probably advise to shop elsewhere. read more

This place has been a lot of different things over the last couple decades, now a Lucky branch (Albertson's). Most of the places has been of the lower price variety, including one that was bag your own groceries, which is something that nearly always causes me no small amount of ire when I come across it. If I wanted to do that, I would use the self-checkout (which I also do in a lot places, including here, actually). But, I like having the choice and the money saved is usually not consequential enough for me to tolerate that kind of nonsense. Anyway, I hate the layout of this store. You are immediately forced to walk to the far North end of the building. Annoying. I think the other grocers in this area also do this as well. The place inside is kind of ragged. It's not quite dirty, but not what I would call clean, either. It needs a massive overhaul and renovation and is not consistent with any of the major local chains, for instance. If you want name brand stuff and don't care so much about selection, this place is fine. But it is all mass market stuff. If you're looking for variations and different flavors and so on, best to look elsewhere. I did not see this place as particularly notably cheaper (despite that being on the sign) than other places, so I think this is more one of those places where you stop if you're in the area and need something quick in a pinch. On the virus side (I was here to get a vaccine shot), staff seemed to do a pretty good job of keeping their own masks on correctly, but I saw a few people wandering around with masks on improperly or sometimes not at all. read more

Let's say you're picking up someone up at the airport...why don't you pick up some groceries too? It may seem like an odd match, but when you see the low prices, you'll want to make a stop. As compared to my local grocery stop, Smith's, almost everything -- from fruit to milk to yogurt to veggies to cereal to cheese to meat to bread to name-brand soda -- were substantially lower at Lucky. The store is designed like a mini WinCo, taking you right to left and you'll immediately be greeted by their biggest deals. These are even more discounted than their everyday low prices. Also great for Mexican food or spices. They have big carts but narrow aisles, so be ready for a few traffic backups. You'll pretty much find everything you'll find at any grocery store, just way lower prices. Occasionally you'll find a name brand at the same price as their store brand. All the stuff is good quality, and they definitely live up to their motto, "Lucky Means Low Prices". read more

Seriously great. Sure the building isn't the fanciest but the people working here are phenomenal, especially the women. Deli staff are so patient and friendly, and they are always willing to let you sample pretty much anything, even the wings. Meat department has a sweet Hispanic lady that always recognize us and wave to us during her shift and ask if there's anything we'd like to get or sample or have questions she could help answer. The cashiers are also always so happy to help and extra kind. Despite being in a ghetto location, this Lucky is doing things right. The food is cheap and the people are helpful and once in a while, they do some crazy deals on produce and meat. read more

We went to the one on Redwood road. My husband used to go to one in CA when he was a kid. The area around the store looked pretty dumpy. We didn't go in because we had no mask in our car and the store had none to sell neither did the other stores around. Another time we will check it out and see how it compares to WinCo or ALDIs. read more

All in all a good market. Some items are a bargain and other items aren't , and I don't frequent them exclusively because If I'm doing monthly shopping I feel I do better elsewhere. The staff are really great and helpful. I usually spend $50 to $100 per month on a regular basis. read more

This used to be the Super Savers. There are some really good deals to be found here on price and selection. Many off brands on some items make for interesting finds. I understand that the store layout was changed to have the aisles more open but I still have a heck of time finding items. It also appears that they have expanded their deli take-out area to be larger and more inviting with more selection for ready made take away meals! Please, more checkers during rush as there are always long lines at the checkout. read more

As their name implies, sometimes you can really get LUCKY with their sales. It's usually hit or miss though. My wife is a big time grocery store woman and hits the grocery store 1-2 times a day. We go here a few times a week due to its proximity to our home. However, we still prefer to go to Smith's. I would tend to agree with another reviewer that this grocery had a strong start and it is beginning to waiver. There isn't much aesthetic appeal to the inside of the store. It doesn't have the 'homey' feel that other grocery stores have. It feels like more of a cheap market. In addition, there is a serious lack of variety here. If you're looking for something specific then this is not the place to shop. Lucky's initially attracted us due to its cheap prices. Currently, prices are more expensive than competing grocery stores which are superior to Lucky's. Due to the sudden rise of prices we have started to shop elsewhere. I do not recommend their pharmacy either as they buy their prescription drugs from the very cheapest suppliers. Overall, the staff is good and the people here are friendly. It is 'okay.' We think the extra 2 minute drive to Smith's on 600N is worth it. read more

The staff is really rude. The prices are reasonable and if your u get one of their $10 grand opening off coupons it's great. I'm not sure I'll ship here regularly because of the staff since the prices are the same as winco or about there anyhow :) read more
