Beware.. a weird thing happens when you map this address out with your phone using Apple Maps. If you map it out with this address... it may also get you lost. We learned the hard way. The weird thing is - I reported that address as bogus, got the real Luckys 2 miles north of this location. It might have something to do with Google and Apple maps not knowing which part of Gravenstein HW is which. I even pinpointed the location/ coordinates to Yelp and submitted a picture last Feb but it all still fell into this review. Long story short, if you do try to come to Luckys, make sure you know that if you cannot find it, travel north until you do... it is right by CVS and Fiesta supermarket. It is a big grocery with a shared lot, you cannot miss it. This Lucky is good, or has improved (probably) since 2011, based on earlier review. Just your average run-of-the-mill grocery. :)

The patisserie is cozy with a few tables inside and a few small tables on the patio. As you enter, you immediately see the glass case with beautiful pastries and cakes. So exciting to see all of their gorgeous creations in our little town of Sebastopol. We had reservations for 1:00 and they sat us at one of their small tables by the door. It worked but it wasn't the most comfortable seat in the house as people were walking in and out of the door and the pastry case was right next to us. There was a group of four near the far end and they offered to move us but then we would have been sitting right next to them. They also have another small private room but that was going to be used for a wedding cake meeting. Gergana is the owner and she greeted us warmly. She said she took over the patisserie in 2019. The other employees were very sweet and helpful. They provided us with a tea menu so we could select a tea from their varied tea menu. They returned with little pots of tea for each of us. There were many people dropping by to pick up a pastry and drink and others stopped by to pick up their cake order. The employees were efficient and quick to help everyone. They refilled our tea pots with hot water and checked on us throughout our time there. The desserts on the top level were our favorites. It came with a candle which was very sweet. The sandwiches on the middle level were chicken, egg salad and cream cheese with cucumber. Our favorite was the chicken salad. Overall, it was a fun experience to savor all of their small samplings and Gergana is there to ensure everything runs smoothly so that your time there is relaxing and extra special. She even gave us a hug as we were leaving. I look forward to visiting this local patisserie again for a cup of a tea and a beautiful pastry.

Pros: I've visited several times for the bakery. The scones are my favorite as they are quite large and delicious, and I also tend to buy the Russian tea cakes as well. The macarons are a little harder and chewier than I expected, but they are still amazing. I actually found Patissierie Angelica specifically because I was looking for high tea services and thus have had their West County High Tea service twice. The second time I had the high tea service, I was given a private room! I particularly enjoyed the lemon curd, jam, and clotted cream with the scones. Patisserie Angelica is also located in a quiet and spacious part of Sebastopol; there is a parking lot that usually has space. Cons: The private room became a little stuffy as there was no air flow (other than an open window) nor air conditioning. However, things might have changed from the last time I was there. Overall: The bakery is truly amazing. I absolutely enjoy the desserts sold there and would love to have more of the high tea service in the future. It's perfect for private parties!

Wild Flour is not simply a bakery. It is one of those rare places that feels like a tiny world unto…read moreitself, a place where the bread, the garden, and the entire experience seem to grow from the same deeply thoughtful philosophy. Even before you reach the counter, the aroma of freshly baked sourdough and warm scones drifts through the air. A long line winding outside, but it feels less like waiting and more like the beginning of a ritual. Once you have your bag of baked goods and a cup of freshly brewed coffee, you wander into the garden, and this is where the experience becomes truly magical. Behind the bakery is a lush, meandering labyrinth of California wildflowers, berry vines, vegetables, and herbs. Raspberry and blackberry branches form leafy arches overhead. Sculptural artichoke plants rise from the earth with their beautiful buds intact. Dinosaur kale peeks out between flowers and shrubs. Unexpected pops of color everywhere you look. The garden feels abundant and slightly untamed, but never accidental. It is the kind of setting that makes you slow down, look more closely, and feel as though you have stumbled into a secret place. Eventually, the path opens into a small rustic seating area with picnic tables and chairs. We sat there surrounded by wildflowers and berry vines, drinking coffee and doing a full scone tasting. It was one of those simple but perfect mornings when all of your senses seem fully awake. CREAM CHEESE RASPBERRY BLACKBERRY SCONE- was extraordinary and easily my favorite. The filling-to-dough ratio was perfect. The scone had a beautifully tender, crumbly texture, with generous pockets of tart berries and whipped cream cheese that tasted almost like crème fraîche. The restraint was what made it so special. The cream cheese had no sugar, it remained rich, tangy, and creamy, allowing the sharpness of the raspberries and blackberries to come through. It was one of the best scones I have ever had. MEYER LEMON, MANGO SCONE - was equally thoughtful and completely unexpected. Meyer lemon zest was folded throughout the dough, so every bite had a delicate citrusy brightness. Small pieces of mango appeared in between, adding just enough tropical sweetness. I would never have instinctively paired Meyer lemon and mango, but the balance was exquisite - floral, tart, fragrant, and gently sweet. This was my daughter's favorite. MAPLE PECAN BLUEBERRY SCONE - was the sweeter option. The blueberries added their deep, jammy richness, plenty of pecans added earthy crunch, while the light maple glaze offered warmth without overwhelming it. It was indulgent, but still beautifully balanced. This is the one I would choose for someone with a sweet tooth. JALAPEÑO CORNMEAL CHEESE SCONE - may have been the most surprising. It tasted like the best parts of skillet cornbread and a classic scone brought together - golden, crisp edges, a delicate, crumbly interior and the natural sweetness of cornmeal. The jalapeño was finely incorporated into the dough, creating a gentle, lingering heat rather than sharp bites of pepper. Little pockets of cheese but honestly I think it would be better without it. It was distinctive, savory, and exceptionally well judged. It would be incredible alongside barbecue or a bowl of chili. ARTICHOKE FETA SCONE - with artichokes growing in their garden this one felt connected to the bakery like the raspberry one, felt farm to table. Generous amounts of salty feta, earthy artichokes and a great crust despite being gf, the bakery shows its adeptness with gf food. CHOCOLATE CHIP COOKIE - this was vegan and gf and really good. Coconut flavors and great crunch make this a whole different kind of treat. FOUGASSE - ROSEMARY, POTATO, GARLIC, JACK CHEESE. Despite the number of ingredients, the bread retained the excellent structure and chew of a proper sourdough. Every bite revealed something slightly different - a fragrant note of rosemary, a garlicky edge, a soft satisfying piece of potato, or a rich pocket of cheese. FOUGASSE - SHIITAKE, CARAMELIZED ONION, BLEND OF CHEESES - this one what a umami bomb with the shiitake generous all over, the onion overpowered them a bit but with the mild and nutty cheeses, this one is a hit What stayed with me most was the sense of intention behind everything. The bakery does not seem interested in chasing novelty for novelty's sake. The flavor combinations are original because someone has genuinely thought about how tartness, sweetness, richness, texture, and aroma should work together. The ingredients taste fresh and uncompromised. The setting feels like a natural extension of the food - abundant, beautiful, earthy, and quietly extraordinary. An unforgettable little gem, and absolutely worth seeking out.

I CANNOT believe that I haven't reviewed this business already? You know those places that you go…read moreto so religiously that it's not even a choice anymore? This is one of those places for me. I've been coming here since high school which is (ahem...) a really long time ago. I always order the same things: an Irish Cream flavored creamy Italian soda and a backpacker cookie. Today, Vela was behind the counter when I came in. I started giving her my drink order and she finished it for me. Now, mind you, I grew up in Sebastopol, but I don't live in town anymore. I only end up passing through periodically, but apparently this combination is a little unique. I love it though. It tastes like melted ice cream or a perfect cream soda. Highly recommend. (This is also one of the only places I've ever run across creamy Italian sodas, but it's simply an Italian soda + some half and half. They always measure out the syrup and cream, so it's not too sweet. They typically stir it too before handing it to you and generally stay available for a moment to ensure you don't want them to adjust the balance of syrup, ice and sparkling water.) The backpacker cookie has oats, raisins, coconut, chocolate chips and walnuts. Now, I can be funny about both walnuts and raisins in my cookies, but they always get the balance just right! Also, when I came in a few months ago, they were out of backpackers and my son ordered a cinnamon flat. I ended up trying it and fell in love with it too! So, now I order both and share some with my son when I get home. I've met Bronwen, the owner, as well. One time when I dropped in, she noticed that I was ordering Irish Cream and said she'd wondered whether she should keep stocking that flavor. When she heard how much I loved it, she agreed to keep it stocked. I'll admit; that influences me when I'm driving through. Not that I wouldn't ordinarily choose to stop, but now I have an additional gratitude toward them. So glad that the new owners (Bronwen and her husband have apparently been the owners since 2020) have kept this institution here!
