I love that they have summer nights here. You can also purchase a summer pass for those of you who want to bowl more than once or twice a week. Upon entry you noticed that there is a short line to get Elaine. However, that is not what the line is for. The line is for customers to scan the QR code to get on the waitlist for a lane. They have frequent updates on the waitlist and it's a very smooth process. It took us about 15 to 20 minutes to wait for our lane. I love the updated look at this bowling alley. They have really bright bowling balls that adds to the flavor of excitement here. The lighting is a bit dim, but it's just bright enough to be able to enjoy the upgrades and everything happening in the place. There is a bar and bistro type restaurant where you may order food and drinks. When we got our Layne, it was very clean and comfortable. The seating was modern and not rundown. Our shoes were very good and decent and they were not old and ragged. The staff here seems to really be happy to work here and they also have servers that come to your bowling lane so that you may order items from that person as well. The games are really cool and they have several different things that you can choose from to make the experience special. There are some serious boulders here though. We noticed a lot of people had their own balls, bowling shirts, bowling shoes, and special cases for their equipment. Don't let that intimidate you because this is still a nice family friendly fun place to come. I like that they have really cool music selection and they go through all of the different decades of music to keep everybody satisfied. I didn't visit the restroom so I'm not sure how clean it was. I did really appreciate the arcade space because they seem to have a lot of nice new games for people who want to do that. Have been here before just to bowl with family and friends which all went very smoothly. This review is specifically for the even I had here with them which was hands down AMAZING! We celebrated my son's birthday here at Lucky Strike and when I say everyone had such an incredible time, I mean everyone is still talking about how awesome and how friendly they staff was and how fun it was! This is the best bowling alley in San Diego in my opinion! I love that they have huge tv screens above the lanes playing music videos, movies, and even short clips. This bowling alley is very clean. They have almost 50 lanes and table service in case you would like to order food and drinks. My friend and I came on a monday night and there was a bowling league but that only took up about 1/3 of the lanes. The rest were open. This is a great place for a date night, celebrating a birthday, and fun for kids and adults alike. They even have a mini arcade with games in case you wanted to take a break from bowling or do something else. The pricing is decent. They run specials throughout the week so make sure to take advantage of those deals. For their regular rate we played 3 games each and the total including the shoe rental came out to about $58 for two people. We came here because we got a groupon and it was a good value. Bowling prices have been crazy at the places closest to us so this was a sigh of relief to be able to bowl for 2 hours without having to drop a bag. They also sell food and drinks that you can order right at your table with a QR code and they bring it to you which is convenient. The food was surprisingly good! We got a pitcher of soda with the pizza and drink special, which we were probably better off with individual cups since you can refill them, but lesson learned. The person who helped us out at the counter was nice and helpful. They were pretty slow and getting the food and drinks out. The food came out before our drinks. The girl who brought the food and drinks out to us was really nice to the people across from us but was brief and didn't really interact with us. Maybe she knew them lol. Made reservations for 2 at 7pm because of their great summer deals. What was suppose to be bowling practice for our upcoming fantasy draft bowling competition ended up being a cute fun date with my fiance. We were greeted by Chris, the manager, and he personally thanked us for reserving and treated us like VIP members. He also informed us about the 7th frame strike, which would allow us to win future bowling games if we get a strike in the 7th frame! This place used to be called Bowlero, but now it's called Lucky Strike. We love coming here to play bowling or billiards; they also have an arcade game. They have self-service machines for the arcade game where you can buy points, get a new card, or recharge the cards for a minimum of $10 and up, plus a $2 fee for the play card. To play pool or bowling, you have to pay first at the register, and then they will give you the billiard balls if you want to play pool; it starts at $15 per hour and goes by minutes right after. For bowling, it's roughly about $55 for two people for 2 hours, which includes shoe rental. To order food and drinks, you'll have to scan the QR code, place your order, and pay immediately, and they will bring your food to your table or lane number, or you can go to the bar and place your order and pay. They are pretty strict with IDs. The last time we went, they wouldn't serve me a beer without a physical ID, even though I showed them the picture of my ID, as I happened to forget to bring it with me, so make sure you have your ID if you want to order alcohol. We were lucky to get a lane right away because it seemed from lanes 1-38, it was reserved for leagues. So very limited space for the regular customers - especially on a weekday when we went. We do like the food, always a fan of the garlic fries and the wings and cheese bread. However, service must've been slow and/or short-staffed because we had to order through the people who helped us check in - not at the usual food counter. Food took a bit but we didn't mind since we paid for 2 hours to bowl! For the most part, service and time spent here was pretty much the same it always has been. I think somehow the lanes were slippier because the people next to us - one of them had her hand slipped and the bowling ball rolled over to my brothers foot and mine. She apologized, but blamed the ball for being slippery. Hence - not a full 5 stars this visit. read more

It's 3/5 due to the customer service when my friends and I were there. For the most part, the place was clean and had a great and fun ambiance while we bowled two games in before the bowling tournament people arrived. The good parts were that the technology in our lanes had no issues, so we didn't have to request anyone to come out and fix anything. The bathrooms were clean and they weren't sticky at all. The food was good, including their drinks (but FYI they barely put alcohol in them leaving you wanting refills). The downside was the customer service as some of the workers (probably in their 20's), didn't look like they wanted to be there. If you're going to be there and work, you need to make sure you have positive attitudes for your customers, otherwise find a job somewhere else. A bowling alley should be welcoming to people wanting to celebrate with their friends or families! Additionally, if you're handling food behind the counter, make sure you're wearing the proper gloves and know how to properly hold a full pizza- I don't want your acrylic nails to be touching my food when it's being served. read more

I used to come here as a kid and so it really holds a lot of special memories for me. However, It's definitely changed a lot since last year. The employees always give great service. However, the food quality keeps going down and the drinks keep tasting cheaper and stronger. Strong isn't always a good thing in my opinion. What I will say is that, it's very kid friendly. Went here a couple weeks ago and they updated their pin setter to a childish version. Each pin has a string attached and if you throw the ball hard enough, sometimes the string brings down other pins. We had to change the score manually multiple times because of this. I'm not a super competitive bowler but my friends and I like competition so the new system ruins it for us. I understand this might be a better/cheaper system for the company but your main focus is always the consumer. Came here for the first time since the rebrand. We tried to book online but the prices seemed really high and you couldn't do a few games. We came on a Sunday night (President's day) so Monday was a holiday, it was pretty busy, We were 16th on the waiting list. It seemed to be moving fast, my wife and I sat down and watched few lanes bowl and noticed after 2 games, the lanes in front of us had never been used and there were more lanes where people were done but just hanging out. About 45 mins - almost an hour we get our lane, all is going well. The place looks good, all the tech worked. After a few minutes the next lane fills up with ghetto kids that immediately started chucking balls, crossing 2 lanes to throw their hardest curve in the gutter, the kid who thought he was the main character was shotputting and literally bouncing bowling balls, to add to it, he was the white kid throwing the N-word around, then vaping in plain sight. My wife and kids were annoyed because these kids had never even heard of ettiquette, they would just run up whenever they felt like it and throw the ball their hardest, then turn around to see if their homies were amused/impressed. With so much yelling and dumba$$ery going on, I was sure staff was going to say something or even kick them out but that never happened. We finished and went to the desk and began to check out, we have our own shoes but they tried to charge us for an extra rental, the worker had to call the manager for an override. I wasn't going to complain, but I figured, "since we are waiting, I want to let you know that this was a bad experience overall" and began to tell her. She apologized and informed the manager. The manager came and listened, he also apologized but you can tell this is not the first time he has gotten this complaint. I commend him for making things right. I was at the point where we were never coming back, but the Manager handled it well... for that, I will give it another chance in the future. read more

Oops.... poor planning on my part. I didn't realize there was a bowling league tonight which reserved the vast majority of the lanes, so we were added to the waiting list. We only needed one lane, but had to wait a very long time. The staff felt so bad about the wait they more than made up for it in amazing customer service. We got game cards for the birthday boy and friend to play in the arcade while we waited and a surprise birthday cookie. All staff members were very accommodating and apologetic. Very gross first impression when a group of us arrived for a birthday celebration. When they check our bags, they told one of the girls no outside food or drink. She explained she has medical needs (diabetic) amd needs her drinks (small apple n OJ) for her blood sugar. She was told she can buy apple juice inside the establishment. She asked why should she spend money on juice when she has some on her person. Someone who worked there spoke to their GM, and came out saying our friend can either drink/dispose of her drink or buy inside. We were shocked they would deny her entry despite her having a medical condition/ needing them for her blood sugar. So if anyone had a medical need or diet restrictions, apparently thats a problem for them! We didnt even bother going inside and left instead. I cant imagine how they must treat others who have medical needs. read more
