Thursday was my first time at any Lucky Strike. I'm not normally a big bowling fan. It's not something I ever make plans to go do. However, I came for a work event and had more fun than I thought I would. We started off slowly with finger foods. The first few trays went way too quick. My supervisor asked them to get things going as soon as the first small group from our party arrived but I don't think they did, even though they told her they would. So I'm not sure if they just weren't quite ready for all of us or if they just underestimated our hunger as soon as we got there. Once we started getting our teams going, the food started to come out quicker. The servers were quick with drink orders, clearing tables to make room for more food and overall very accommodating. Our food consisted of shrimp skewers, fried smoked gouda mac n cheese balls, crispy chicken tenders with a spicy dipping sauce, veggie egg rolls, potstickers, spinach dip, margherita pizza, chicken sliders and cheeseburger sliders. We also had an assortment of cookies for dessert. My least favorite was the margherita pizza. It wasn't cheesy enough. Some of the slices were just sauce. My favorites were the potstickers and the chicken tenders. We spent about 3 hours at our event this afternoon and I'd totally do it again with some friends. read more

This is a decent place to chill. I have been here a few times, mainly to relax and shoot pool. I do want to try bowling, but have read & heard it is way overpriced. I believe this is common sense, but bring your ids. Security checks ids at night on the weekends. The atmosphere is alright. Lucky Strike has many big projection screens and the environment is clean. There are many places to sit; either @ the bar, lounging area, outside seating etc. The food is decent as well. I've tried the sandwiches & buffalo wings here. Not too bad, I must say. The main reason, I come is to shoot pool in a more upbeat atmosphere. The music played is generally better, however; it does get quite loud. I haven't experienced any issues with the staff. The manager Jason is not competent their equipment doesn't work I complain four times the guy kept coming but they never could fix it. And Jason's attitude was that I don't really care don't care. At the end of the day the place is pretty rundown and equipment must be old or not maintained. I've been to the bowling alley at the main place mall and everything seems to work fine there. I recently just held my holiday party here for Great Maple. My previous experience here was ehhh so I was hesitant to finalize our plans here. Let me tell you it was a totally different experience. We were given the private room and a server was designated to our party. She was very pleasant and accommodated our group to every need we had. This is a terrible place to bowl. I don't understand why a bowling alley fails to regularly oil their lanes. Any person who can actually bowl well knows this place is where you don't go. Have been to a number of work events here and every time the lanes are as fry an a bone. The fact that I can use a house ball, start on the far left, throw all the way to the right edge and still make it into the left gutter is ridiculous. When bowling at an alley that maintains their lanes, the ball will move about 10 inches, not across the entire width of the lane twice. Food is mediocre and service is normally lacking. Okay from the time we walked in to the time we left, everything was "AMAZING"!!!! Let me first say, we took 3 of our 5 kids to go bowling, the other two were MIA for this trip. Anyhow, one of the host walked us to the back, and . because we had a stroller (6 month baby) they gave us the farthest lane away from people to accommodate. This by far was the best gesture to endure, if you have kids you'll understand why. We enjoyed bowling and the waitress that came around to get our order in! I haven't been bowling in a really long time. Combine this and bored at work is dangerous for my health and my psyche, not to mention my right bowling arm. I work walking distance from this place and I had the great idea of playing during my lunch break. Simple right. Try fitting 2 full games and eat lunch and then walk back with all my gear. Yeah I have gear . . . don't ask me why. Started way back a long time ago with a bunch of Coronas, Male competitiveness and a free 16 pound ball. Well I walked all the gear to Lucky Strike Lanes and yeah that was a mistake. It's not that heavy right . . . now. We get our food really fast. Great we're doing perfect on time. Service is great . Food half way decent and portions outta control for the price. Smiles all around. No complaints . . . until the 6th . . . . 7th round round of the second game. First game I was getting strikes and almost got a Turkey, but man that second game killed my arm. The 16 pounds seemed like 50 pounds by the end. This venue is very clean and has that trendy appeal to cater to younger crowds. Being located at the Block among all the shops, it is very convenient to stop by to take a break from shopping to grab a beer, or even to do some bowling. If you are not health conscious, I would suggest ordering the sliders since I thought they were fantastic. Living in Las Vegas for the past four years, I've concentrated on going to nightclubs on the strip that focus on bringing in top name dj's (versus the clubs that advertise celebrity appearances). I must say I would put those video spinning DJs in this venue up there with the quality of most Vegas nightclub DJs. I truly appreciate every person who worked this shift because every single worker we came across was in a good mood and didn't seem annoyed at us. This location was big and well kept. I came on a Sunday night and it wasn't packed. Since my friend DJ's here sometimes, so he got the hook up on drinks. The ambience is really nice--imagine hanging out in the color red. The plaza it's located in is pretty cool as well. I wish I came earlier in the day to check out the neighboring stores. I like how they have beer pong and pool tables. I didn't get a chance to go bowling. I need to come back and do this--maybe at a different location. I think having an event here would be pretty awesome but it can get pricey. It may sound crazy, but we had our mother's 99 th birthday at Lucky Strike in March. There were children and great grandchildren and great great grandchildren playing 6 boys against 6 girls. Even the birthday girl got up once to bowl a bit. She was on a bowling league in younger years. This year she sat on the couch and watched everyone right in front of her. We had lunch, cake, balloons, drinks. It was a fun day and the grandkids want to do it again! read more

Worst and most expensive bowling experience Ive ever had. Our server was nice and very attentive but that was the only good thing about this place. The guy and the girl working the check in counter where you get your shoes were extremely rude, our lanes broke down over 5 times each lane, and unless you rent two lanes you only get enough seating for 3 people to sit and half a coffee table. Its set up with two couches facing each other and a coffee table in the middle. If you don't rent two lanes, which isn't cheap, and you have more than 3 people in your group they will be standing the whole time. We had 6 people in our party so we spoke to a manager to see about renting a second lane so our party could all sit and eat and not have to share our tiny space with another group and the manager said in order to rent a second lane we would have to pay for 4 additional people, that it was a minimum of 4 people to a lane. That is ridiculous! So if two people came on a date to bowl they would have to pay for four people in order to bowl? So we paid for 8 people to bowl even though we only had 6 people. We spent several, several hundreds of dollars for 2 hours of bowling and lunch. Not worth the money especially since both our lanes broke down several times. God I love this place! The shuffleboard is my favorite! Mac & Cheese bites are always a hit. I came by with my date tonight so I couldn't be taking pictures of everything like I usually would - ha! 7:00PM on a Sunday evening proved to be the best timing! 2 pool tables were being used and the one and only shuffleboard available wasn't occupied - SCORE! Of course 7:00PM at any given restaurant just about any night of the week is the best time to go. Dinner staff is ready to go and everything's clean! The only thing I would recommend for Lucky Strike is to have someone at the door to greet at all times. I don't know if it was because of a shift change, breaks or what but this place has such a great vibe, someone to welcome me and later my date (who was visiting Lucky Strike for the first time) would've been even better. Even without that though, this place still gets five stars! Mac & Cheese bites, 2 juices, an hour of shuffleboard, a walk around the block with a stop at the Vans Skatepark to watch skateboarders and BMX bikers (free admission) for less than $30 was a complete and total DEAL! As far as a Public Restroom Review - FIVE STARS! Seriously you guys, I think I'm gonna make that a "thing" if it isn't already. Came here for the 1st time w/GF. The entire facility is nice and clean. It wasn't too busy so we got to pick our lane. Had a great time bowling 2 games. Beers were cheap since it was happy hour. Last night I celebrated my 30th birthday at Lucky Strike in Orange. I really wanted to throw a nice party for my friends& family so I reserved one of the "Suites" a few days in advance. I spoke to Daniel over email and the phone a few times. He was nice but it seemed like he was only looking to close the deal and could really care less about the event. I was told that I needed to pick a beverage package (which starts at $5 a person for regular soft drinks) & food package along with a bowling package. So I chose: Suite 1 for two hours at $150/hr. And picked 4 different food platters that came up to about $200. Then I was charged $100 for the beverages....on top of $5 a person for the ppl who were bowling. Don't forget the "service fee" & 20% gratuity charge which totaled $704. I was sure that the service, food, etc was going to be great for that price. I was wrong. I don't think it was worth what I was charged at all. We were given ONE server for 20+ ppl. He was helping us and the rest of the bowling alley so we had to keep looking for him. We had 4 lanes and two of them kept messing up throughout the entire 2 hours. We talked to the manager there and he said he would give us extra time& take care of us. I didn't know "extra time" was 10 mins extra for each lane, totaling 20 extra mins. So once the lanes shut off we asked if that was all the extra time we would get for the inconvenience. He then said he would give us another 10 mins and then after that we would have to pay $20 per lane for an additional 30 mins. So we said forget it and took our last 10 mins. Oh I forgot to mention, this $100 beverage package I paid for was 4 pitchers set on a table with a bucket of ice. Lemonade, water, 7UP, and coke. I had to ask for tea to be brought out. I think the pitchers were refilled once and the ice was never refilled. I had to ask ppl to help me grab all the dirty plates before we did the cake because the tables were full of plates. I took pictures below. I also had to ask someone who wasn't our server, for extra small plates and forks. All the food that was brought out didn't have any spoons in the dishes for ppl to put on their own plates. I guess they thought ppl wanted to dip chips in the main salsa and guacamole dishes& their corn dogs in the main mustard dish& grab cheese fries with their bowling fingers. Overall I was disappointed& never again will I pay what I did, I would've been better off paying for everyone to bowl and buying a bunch of food. Hope this helps for anyone that's considering booking a party with them. My party was on a Sunday at 3pm by the way. Happy Birthday David H! Came here for a friend's birthday bash. Lucky Strike is a pretty cool bowling joint. I absolutely love how they card people after 9 or 10. NO KIDDIES ALLOWED! That means I can swear, fart, burp, be as vulgar as I want without offending children. As for my peers or olders, tough luck ;) Drinks were pretty on point here. We threw back glasses of Jameson and Ginger pretty much all night. I was then introduced to a sophisticated version of the Cheshire Cat. YUM! The pool tables were decent. The equipment here is well kept and clean. The restrooms were clean. The dining area was clean. Everything was clean! Also the fact that there was NO crowd on a Wednesday night, I was happy to be a part of this birthday party :D Will definitely schedule an outing here with friends. Holy crap how could I forget to review this place? I haven't been here since 2004, but please, let me tell you why. Before I moved to SoCal, I visited Lucky Strike with an ex, although she wasn't an ex at the time, yadda, yadda, yadda. Anyway, I totally forgot my license at home, but I did have my passport. --I'd like to take this opportunity to thank my dad for teaching me that I should always travel with my passport, no matter what. So, like I said, I had my passport with me and figured that was THE id of all id's. I mean, you can't get into a country without one right? So I figured I was safe. Think again Yelpers! Not only was I not allowed passage into Lucky Strike, but the lame "bouncer" even said that they don't accept passports as valid forms of ID. How insane is that? A US Passport is not valid ID at Lucky Strike. Did the NSA, CIA, or North Korea take over ownership of Lucky Strike? Is that why my passport didn't work? Yeah, because I've gotten into Japan, South Korea, and the Philippines with my passport. But not Lucky Strike. It really must be CRAZY in there. And from all the reviews, crazy in a bad way. In a nutshell: REALLY fancy bowling alley for non-bowlers to throw fancy bowling parties. I bowl. I'm a huge bowling nerd and used to bowl for my college in undergrad. I have practiced how to use the arrows, dots and lines in the wood necessary for me to bowl a strike. My worst enemy: glow bowling. I digress. I have no complaints about the fact that Lucky Strike does glow bowling. If you are a serious bowler, you should not go to Lucky Strike to practice or take the game seriously. Unfortunately I can't turn that switch off. I'm THAT guy who brings his ball no matter what and takes it seriously no matter what when it comes to bowling....and no I can't get over it. Parking 1/5 TERRIBLE!!!! When they designed The Outlets of Orange, they should have built a big parking structure to account for the high volume of people that come here to shop, work, and play. We spent 20 minutes looking for a spot, and only found one because we gave up and camped out in the same aisle waiting for someone to leave. This is not the fault of Lucky Strike. Dress Code 3/5 Yes. There is a dress code here. I was able to get in with walking shorts, but they discourage against it, especially basketball shorts or baggy shorts. The bowling area is neat if you're not a bowler. Plenty of choices for balls, with lounge seating at each lane pair. First of all, the lanes we pretty much dry. I curve my ball, and I noticed that the middle of the lane was drier than it should be, so my ball shot to the gutter immediately. I adjusted by cross-laning, but that should only happen at the end of a session once hundreds of throws have gone by. This leads me to believe that they only oil their lanes once a day. No bueno. The second thing that bothered me (and it would bother everyone) is that our pinsetter kept stopping with the gate down. We had to notify staff 3 times about the issue, and they kindly added 10 minutes to our time, but then the pinsetter started clearing the pins after the first throw, which off set the scoring. It was strange and I've never seen a computer malfunction like that. Fortunately the rest of the party didn't know what was going on so I just kept my mouth shut. This is an okay alternative to D&B's down at the Block. To bowl, it's $5/shoe rental and $6/person/game. To play pool, it's $15/hour. The fancy display of cue sticks is alluring but with a felt of that quality and the price per game, I could see why people rarely play. However, I give them credit for some good deals on select days: Mon - $15 all you can bowl after 9pm $3 draft beers, $4 well drinks, 50% off appetizers Wed - same deal as above w/o the bowling deal The best deal is Mon-Fri 11-4pm where you get lunch a free game. Of course I realize I live in Orange County. I'm surrounded by SUVS, MILFs, smog, and the beach, but it's times like my trip to Lucky Strikes Lanes that it really hits home that I live in "The OC". I was only there for a little over an hour yet I managed to see a bro fight and lewd behavior...I'm talking dry humping and hickeys. The night wasn't a complete loss! I went on a Sundays night, they have no cover and happy hour which means 2$ domestic, 2.50$ well drinks, and 1/2 appetizer. I had two vodka cranberry's...but I'm skeptical of there being much vodka in there at all, stick with the cheap beer. They also have 1$ bowling games and 1$ shoe rentals, trouble is it is almost impossible to get a lane, the wait is HOURS! And they were playing a nice top 40 mix, which might turn someone off, but I loved it. I don't feel cramped as I do with other establishments. We had some beers and a couple appetizers to start and then played for a while. The place was not too busy on a Saturday evening (pre11pm) so that was cool. There were some obnoxious people on the table next to us but it didn't take long for a security guard to come out and kick their behinds out, so they get a star for that alone! There's also an area with pool tables and a separate bowling area...probably for private parties. They only have about 16 lanes in the regular section. We got there just in time for our YOC Birthdays and Bowling UYE around Noon...right before it started to get crowded. The service was very mixed. At some points the waitress was right there, at other times she was no where to be found. The Bloody Mary was SPICY. The Lucky Strike Club ($9) was delicious. It had a fried egg and avocado. Wow. Dare I say the best club I've ever had? Hmmm... Ankur ordered the Hummus and it was delicious as well. The bread it came with was piping hot. The Fried Macaroni & Cheese was too cheesy for me. And for $6, you can get a gigantic bucket of Onion Rings. I've never been here before and now I know I wasn't missing much. I'd be fine if this was the only place offering alcohol, but you could get more bang for your buck by walking down a little further to maybe.. Cafe TuTuTango or even Dave n' Busters. Yes, you can bowl here, chill and hang here.. but I'd probably choose a different spot. Everything else is spot on though. Ok they have the best deal for lunch. You get a lunch item, a soft drink, shoe rental and a game for just $7.95 per person. The special is only good Mon-Fri from 11am to I think 4pm. This seemed like a great deal and decided to check it out as our staff retreat. I'm not going to complain...Lucky Strike is your nice and lounge-like bowling alley. So the ambiance was a hit with all my co-workers who had not been to Lucky Strike. Of course bowling with them and hanging out with them outside of work was a lot of fun. What was a great surprise was the food items to choose from. We were expecting some small turkey sandwich or what not and instead we got to choose from yummy items. Most went with the cheeseburger which was a good size and made from quality meat. The pizzas looked and smelled great. So I highly recomment this place for lunch. If you have a day off you need to take advantage of this great deal! BUT...yes there is a but...the service is slow! And I was very confused. I saw plenty of girls walking around looking pretty but none of them would come check up on us at our lane. We had to go ask for assistance and to get soda refills. Only one of the girls was helping us...but I wasn't sure what the other ladies were doing. They seemed to be prepping for something, check themselves out, then continue to "work". Well needless to say we were the only group eating lunch and it took forever to get out food and the check. So much fun! My aunt rented out half the place for my uncles 40th Birthday. Unlimited appetizers and sodas. Not sure how much that cost her but we all had a blast! 4 lanes to our selves 3 tables and shoes were included. Service was impeccable we had out own waitress that was on the ball. There was about 20 of us all ordering drinks and food left and right. She stayed right on top of it and was even able to keep up refilling sodas and water while still bringing adult drinks and more trays of food. read more

I'm gonna put out a disclaimer, I HATE BOWLING. I hate everything about it. The shoes, the heavy balls, the slippery floor, the fact that I have to buy socks. Bowling is just not my idea of a Friday night. Any night for that matter. But Lucky Strike is so much more than bowling. It's a lounge. It's a sports bar. Heck it's even a pool hall. It has so much to offer that it changes the idea of your average bowling alley. Lucky Strike has a ton of TVs to watch any game you so choose please. They occasionally have a DJ on random nights and that's always music for my ears. My first time coming to this location and so far it has taken 20 to 30 mins for us to get any service. Now I understand that there is times when there are large parties and other people here. But for the people working here to see us standing there at the counter and just look at us without a simple "give me a few minutes to help these folks and I'll be right with you" kind of thing is just plain rude. I work at a cafe and when I'm busy making drinks or helping another customer I always give a little "I'll be right with you" kind of thing so people know I notice them. Promoted by Endless Empire on Sunday nights, the crowd can be your young typical (mainly Asian but still mixed) OC party crowd. Mix in a DJ that mixes mostly top 40's and electro/house music (oh snaps). Where else can you have this much fun with the girls on a Sunday night w/o going out to Hollyhood? =D LOVE IT! Disappointing. My friends and I went here Saturday night, and "their system was down" and they "didn't know when it would be back up" and there was an hour and a half wait AFTER the system would be repaired (whenever THAT was.) When we POLITELY tried asking the girl behind the register more questions (when will it be back up, how long do you think it'll take to fix, etc) her male co-worked stepped in and rudely just told us off, saying "yknow what, we dont know" Wow. really? I think your female co-worker was handling the situation just fine by herself, no need for you, emo-pierced-pretentious-crap-face to come stepping in to save the day.
