I did my weekly shopping at this Smiths Marketplace this week like I have done regularly and which cost me a total of $237.00. After using the self check out, which I always do, I accidentally left a couple of bags on the rotating bag holder when I left. My Son went back to retrieve the bags within an hour and was told they had already put the items back on the shelf. They said he could go back through the store for the items however he wasn't with me while shopping so I had to go back the next day with my receipt in hand to get the items. At the customer service counter I was first told they would honor the receipt and I could pick up the items. After going back through the store again picking up the items I went back to the counter to have them process the transaction. The customer service representative then said they could not honor the purchase without first having their Loss Control review footage to ensure what I was telling them was true because Smiths employees the night before had not documented per their internal procedures that they returned my items to the shelves. Okay so now she doesn't believe my items were left at the store. So bam, now I'm being treated as if I am being dishonest and am being investigated by Loss Control agents. Once they do review the footage they will clearly see what I told them is in fact true. It is outright pathetic that SMITHS MARKETPLACE treats their customers like criminals. It is now noon the day after the harrowing experience and I still have not been contacted by Smiths, still do not have my grocery items and am left waiting for them to complete their internal investigation. What a joke...never, ever will I shop at any Smiths Marketplace again! read more

Average. Typical grocery store. It doesn't always feel like the safest parking lot because it is NOT well lit. But otherwise it's fine. Hot tip would be go to the fruit/veggie section they have discounted fruits and veggies that still have about 1-2 weeks of life left in them. Great for livestock treats as well! read more

I have never had a good experience at Smith's. Their pharmacy is number -10! I got a text to come get a prescription that had been filled but when I got here I sat in an 8 car line for 15 minutes without completing even ONE car two cars left in front of me and I followed them, too without getting my prescription. And they also have the incredible lack of customer service as to close for a half hour at noon. There is NO WAY you can hire another pharmacist? YOU DON'T CARE! I'm done. What a worthless store! I'm moving my scrips asap! Disgusting! read more

The store has not provided a great shopping experience that past few times I have been in. Today (Sunday) at 4:15, the lines for checkout went down the aisles. The shelves were pretty bare in spots. In addition there was about a half gallon of milk spilled all over the floor at the self checkout. No cones to warn others of wet slippery floors. Someone had thrown some paper towels on the spill, but no one was actively trying to mop it up. read more

So I have been a customer here for 4 years now and watched the decline of this place but today was the last straw. Yesterday I purchased an organic truth drink mix, paid $7 for 6 powder packets and thought I would try them out. I opened the box today and it was like they mixed water with the powder and the packets were hard as a rock. When I approached the lady about getting a refund she asked me if I had a receipt. Which I did not because I threw it away when I put away my food yesterday. She informed me that without the receipt there was nothing she could do. Well Smith just lost a long time customer over a $7 box of drink mix, which in retrospect might have done me a favor because I wonder why in the hell I shop at this shit hole store anyway. Everytime I go to this Smiths I get overcharged!!! This time I only bought a few things and I was overcharged $3.34. The milk was on sale for$1.29 and they charged me $1.99, the oreis were on sale for $2.85 and they charged me $4.79, I'm so tired of fighting with the nice cashiers it's not their fault. This location is my standard "go to" for groceries. They have a good selection of items, with a bakery, a butcher, and a lunch place as well. Even some kitchen essentials (pots and pans, etc.) stuff. I can usually find what I'm looking for. The service is OK, though they don't have enough lanes open. They really want you to use self-check-out, which is OK if you're buying a few things but not so great if you're buying a lot. Sometimes have to wait in line, but the checkers and baggers are always professional and helpful. I like the shop atmosphere. Good temperature, usually some light elevator music. It's big enough that it doesn't feel crowded. Their price is, yes, a bit up from Wal*Mart, but so is the quality. read more

I do a lot of shopping at my local Smiths, and I really appreciate it for what it is: close by and convenient, I know where everything is, good markdowns, etc. But it's old, and kind of dingy, and I just associate Smiths as being on the lower end of grocery stores. So when I go to a Smith's Marketplace it's always a bit of a surprise. They are so big and much newer than mine. This one, especially, seems gigantic, with a decent outdoor section, electronics, etc. They have a lovely flower section, and cheese counter, too! Customer service is great, and check out was quick. I don't live in the neighborhood, but if I did I'd certainly consider this as one of the top contenders for my weekly grocery shopping. read more

In stead you could have said "oh I'll inform management and I can't refund you here but the service desk can help you" I just left! Smiths Marketplace in West Jordan has been decaying day by day . Poor Management, check out out the time saying you every two item pay now, employees at check out sarcastically help you . Paper or plastic bags are falling apart, and to be worse last week after having many issues at check out; after I paid my groceries; the The Cart Wheels was locked by someone that I have no idea who did it. I was felling ashamed and frustrated !! I felt miserable and confused ; because I had no idea what was going on. One employee showed up and told me she needed a gadget or something to unlock my cart without any explanation. Why it happened? I'm loyalty client buying at Smiths about + 20 years. Instacart shoppers beware!!! I had a 2 shop and deliver at this location today. Coming up to the cashier I unloaded my entire cart, let the cashier, Shaelyn, know I had two Instacart orders. She promptly made me aware that "I will take you this time but we are not allowed to take Instacart orders. You have to go through self checkout because that is the point. You do the work." I let her know I have been doing this for over 3 years, shopped at countless Smith's and have not once had an issue, then I was told "I'm sorry you have GOTTEN AWAY with it this long but we have never been able to do that at the register." Then through the entire transaction her and the bagger, Mikayla, proceeding to talk negatively about Instacart shoppers. My order was bagged incorrectly, Then I was accused of stealing toilet paper, then paper towels . Neither of which were anywhere on my cart. What was there? The water she has scanned already. The manager of this store should be ashamed of these two employees. You don't disrespect someone's profession right in front of them. I have been a customer for a long time and unfortunately this Delicatessen department is the one that has a service where one feels like a hindrance or interrupting the work of the employees, specially the one with a Boar's Head cap ... this does not happen to me for example when I visit the same department Deli at Smith's 39 So and 5600 W. I went in to buy a case of Coca Cola or Pepsi and the sign said $3.99. I got a case and went to the register and the register said $8.99. I showed this to the assistant and she said that you had to have a coupon. The sign showed this in small print. I dislike this deceptive practices. If I hadn't caught this and had several items I may have paid $5.00 more. I just lost my trust in Smith's. This is one reason I trust Costco! They don't play these games. read more

I do enjoy a good Smith's Marketplace. We came for a few things and found them fairly easily. We browsed the clearance section of the clothes also and found a few A-mazing deals. I felt like the place was pretty cleaned up, except maybe the parking lot could use a good clean up. The few workers we came in contact with were nice and courteous. This store is quite a drive from my home, but is the closest "Marketplace" so gave it a chance. The produce section was disgustingly filthy, there was old expired product on the shelves, and a horrible smell of some sort of fungus filled the air. Upon checking out the the cashier was checking out a customer whom she knew personally and was chatting away which caused her to work much slower with customers waiting in line. Moments earlier a second lane opened, so I moved lines. When my turn came, another employee approached my cashier and they then proceeded to have a personal conversation unrelated to work while I stood there waiting to be checked out. The overall vibe of the store is low energy. Customer service seems non existent. The worst Smiths I've visited, and I've visited many. read more

This store is absolutely gorgeous! It's so spacious and well decorated. It feels pretty swanky. It's a marketplace, which means they have stuff other than groceries. I find their clothing section to be a bit lacking, but I can't tell you the last time I thought to myself, "I need to head over to smiths to get some jeans." The produce section is awesome. Lots more organic stuff and they have a lot of "health" products here that I used to have to go to Harmon's for like quality coconut oil, or vegan/vegetarian products. They also have bulk bins for stuff like bulk oats, flours, seeds, etc. Pretty excited about that. I haven't tried it yet, but there are also some made to order items like pizza and sandwiches and some outdoor seating for when it gets warmer. The staff is so friendly, and for having just barely opened they sure seem to enjoy their jobs and have their stuff together. read more

THIS CAKE IS TERRIBLE!!! I ordered a cake for my moms birthday and I ordered in the hope that it would look nice and be okay. I asked if they could please put pearls in the center of the roses and if they could put sugar crystals on the roses to make them sparkle and if the could make the roses red and a darker pink so they could look reddish but not entirely red. Honestly I thought I was asking for a bit but they said they could..... This is no where near what I wanted.... at all. When I went to get the cake I asked about it and they said they would fix it... I didn't have time to wait another 30 minutes what you had 3 days already to do. I called 3 days ahead because I wanted something nice. It looks like I could have picked any stupid cake off the shelf and had them written words on it. The flowers are even placed nicely. This location just opened. I really like Smiths Marketplace, its nice to have everything available at a single location. This location is much nicer than the Smiths Marketplace near 9000 south Redwood road. This new location has a real good looking butcher counter, deli and bakery. It was impressive to also see they make some tasty sushi, in-store, right in front of you. Fresh made pizza is also available. This place will definitely go into my grocery shopping rotation. read more

Love the store for it's wide aisles, clean space and availability of items, but calling there for info is challenging. I may have lost an item in the store and called to see if someone turned it in. I was unable to completely describe it because the person who answered the phone kept talking over me, then put me on hold to check to see if it's there. Told me no, but how would they know since I couldn't completely tell them what I may have had lost? I'll call back later and hopefully talk to a different person. It pains me to give the store a 4. First, I love this store. It is close to my house and convenient. The store is always clean and well stocked. We use the click list pick-up at this location frequently and it is fantastic. The staff is so friendly. I love the service. So why the 4? Good question! The pharmacy is atrocious. They are incredibly slow, unfriendly for the most part, and frequently have to order the prescriptions in. If you find yourself needing something not in stock, it is a crap shoot as to when you will see your prescription. In fact, they will likely tell you 2-3 times they have to order it first, even though you had been told 2-3 times already that it was on order. read more

My husband and I shop smiths weekly and I myself go daily for odds and ends and snacks etc. the only reason I'm giving one star is because I was almost ran over by a young lady with a cart and prior to that I had stopped when I saw her I had said excuse me I proceeded to stay out of her way and she still almost hit me and when I addressed it she basically said whatever and continued on it was either in aisle 18 or 19 it was early in the morning. That type of customer service is unprofessional and unacceptable I was just getting off a 12 hour shift I was too tired to complain there at the store.But I did not appreciate how I was treated because I go in there every day literally. read more

All the Smiths marketplaces are very nice. The customer service today was excellent. The manager was everywhere during our visit. He was helping stage carts at the entrance. He visited the deli area where they were cooking ribs, giving away free samples, and selling a full rack of cooked ribs for $10. Then he was upfront directing customers to the shortest checkout lanes so that everything would go fast. read more

When I first moved out here we was the first subdivision built. With nothing I mean nothing out here it's nice to have this Smith's market place built just min away from us. I've been to a lot of Smith's and Smith's market place but this one beats them all. It's got everything you every need, one stop shop I call it. From sushi rolled fresh everyday all day. They also have a star bucks that's a plus wouldn't you say! You can go there for lunch and get there fresh made pizza or hamburgers. Of course you goes try their fried chicken.... It's the bomb bomb I call it. Can't explain it but this location has the best fried chicken. Great location on 5600w and 7800 s where there is not a lot of traffic. Parking lot is huge!!! They also have Smith's gas which is very convenient. I love it cuz the staff here are very friendly. Also you can't complain when they usually have great Mark downs on products.
