Lucky's is the only bar/restaurant in the Scranton-Wilkes Barre Airport, so choices are limited.....lol. Pretty decent selection of beers. Typical Bar food. I am a frequent traveler through Avp. Nice airport but if you're delayed, you're screwed because this restaurant and store/Dunkin close down early. The cooks have beards not covered, I saw one of them bring out food and he had a bad case of dandruff. Petite black female worker has a big Afro hanging down over the food she's carrying! To be honest, it's not the worst single bar/restaurant contained within an airport. The person behind the bar was on her own to take orders, make drinks, and apparently run food that came up from the adjacent Dunkin' kitchen? Yes, it's true the blonde barmaid is miserable and treats everyone like they are an annoyance. But she is efficient in a soup Nazi kind of way. Some weary traveler approached asking how late the restaurant stays open, apparently to report back to his traveling companions. Blondie's response: "we're here now." As he struggled to process that response and began to ask for clarification, I really expected blondie to say... "you're pushing your luck little man." It was entertaining in a way... like live theater way off Broadway. Nevertheless, everyone had their drink orders filled and the food was good. Linda is AWFUL! We were at the airport about an hour before our flight, and it was delayed another 30 minutes. So with at least 90 mins, we figured we would order a couple burgers and beers. I ordered 2 cheeseburgers and Linda had a fit! She started yelling about "do you know what time it is" and "you will miss your flight". I told her that the flight was delayed and we had over an hour. She started making comments that it takes more than an hour to cook cheeseburgers, and I should know that. Needless to say, the cheeseburgers came out less than 10 minutes later. She delivered the beers to the table, and they were 1/2 full at most and mostly just foam. What awful service! read more

This waitress had to be the rudest person on the face of the planet. I get it. Everyone has a bad day.....but, I've flown into this airport 3 times now and she is always hateful! How someone who works in the service industry can have such a crappy attitude is beyond me! What is even sadder is that it is the ONLY restaurant in the airport, so you can't go anywhere else. This place is awful, at least when Linda is working behind the bar. I'm pretty sure she was loaded (drunk/high/who knows) when working. She took 8minuted counting and entering receipts at one point before she even turned around to face the customers at the bar. Ordered a Long Island and she decided to use margarita mix (picture attached). I had to ask for a drink each time because apparently she doesn't know how to checkup on her guests. Christ. Kill me. So there you are... making your way quickly through TSA, beside yourself with excitement that you're moving ever closer to leaving Wilkes-Barre/Scranton. Forever, if you're fortunate. You look ahead and you see an inviting little spot opposite security, and think to yourself, "That looks like a great spot to grab some food and a drink before boarding." Lol at you. Lucky's. As in... they're lucky there isn't another restaurant in the airport (I'm not counting Dunkin). Or maybe... you should consider yourself Lucky if you made the decision to eat or drink before going to the airport. The inviting space and cheerful name thinly disguise the fact that Lucky's is an absolute abomination. Unfortunately for me, I travel to Wilkes Barre often for work and I find myself sitting in Lucky's more than I care to admit. Unless you prefer to sit at the gate for an extended period of time, you too will find yourself at the gates of hell optimistically telling yourself that Lucky's "Can't be as bad as those reviews," or that maybe this visit will be better. In my 5-6 visits to Lucky's (I know, glutton for punishment), I haven't had a single menu item that I would consider good. Mozzarella sticks? Extremely greasy, partly cold and partly Satan's inferno hot. Buffalo chicken salad? Chicken overbreaded and fried to death on top of brown, soggy lettuce. Chicken tenders? Chewy. Can't bite through them. Fries? Cold. Boneless wings? Refer back to buffalo chicken salad. The drinks. Flat Cokes. Unrecognizable Long Islands. Worst Bloody Mary in the history of the free world. Piss warm beer. You can tell I have literally gone through the gamut in search of something tolerable. Honestly, the tap water isn't bad. When I told the bartender about the quality of the Bloody Mary, she chuckled and kept walking, which brings me to the absolute low point of Lucky's: the rude blonde bartender that has not only been the source of years worth of complaints if you bother to read other reviews, but who despite her dismal performance and attitude, is apparently a fixture at Lucky's (and previously, Wings, before the name change). Union job? Methinks so. Seriously, I have never seen a service professional consistently treat and talk to customers and her peers the way this lady does (don't know her name, unfortunately, but she's the one that's always there. ALWAYS). Look, if you're smart, you will stop by Dunkin or the magazine store for a drink and snack and head to the gate. If you're like the rest of us, head on into Lucky's, order sadness from the menu, and brace yourself for your daily ration of abuse from the bartender. read more

The menu is small but surprisingly good. The bartender, who has been there for around 20 years, is rude and doesn't even wait until you're seated before she's asking what you want. she seems like she hates her job, not pleasant at all. She's hurrying everyone out in the evening. read more

Delicious food. It really hit the spot for heading off on our flight. I had a tasty cheesesteak, and my wife had quesadillas. Each were well-prepared and filling. The only downside was our server. She did not look pleased to be there. Maybe she was overworked, I don't know. read more

There should be a no star option. Waited 5 min, then seated myself. Then waited 30 min for the server, then waited 10 min standing at the bar to finally order food. Took 2 tries to get the order right- coleslaw not fries with the burger. Asked for a side of mayo, didn't get it. Asked the girl who brought out my food for mayo, she said "sure" but promptly forgot. It wasn't bad service, it was no service. They should make it a " order at the bar" type of place. Then, there's no expectations of service. read more

I always fly out of AVP but the crown jewel of the day is the lovely bartender Linda. She's always busy but makes time to conversate with me and everyone else. If I could rate 10 stars I definitely would! read more

I travel at least once a month for business.I choose to come a few minutes early before my flight so I could unwind and have a drink at Lucky's. The food is always good and the service is great. Linda is always a charm to speak to sometime she is incredibly busy being bartender and server however she never fails to take some time to have a brief chat. read more

I wanted to do this while it is fresh!Obviously the bartenders father owns this Airport. This place used to be called Wings and they changed the name because Wings had a bad rap & Lucky is a better name, as you're Lucky if you get decent service. The middle aged blonde who thinks her job would be great if it wasn't for the customers is still here from Wings! (See my earlier post) I hesitated to write this review as I wanted to give her a 5th chance, but although my service was fine as I just had a couple drinks, the girl down the bar who said she just wanted a water for now and food was hit with the rolled eyes and pissy attitude. Plus, Betty the bartender was obviously pissed because her dinner was interrupted, I know she isn't supposed to be eating on the job as she hid her eating spot at the corner of the bar with the peanut display! Time for a new name - How about Good Luck? Oh I'm so glad I didn't close this out, she was even more pissed as a dude sat next to her "hidden dinner spot" and she hit him with major attitude. I come to Scranton two or three times a month. Yes if it wasn't for a job, I would never enter this place. Because of the fact I must take a late flight I have to get food from this place. Normally, I pick to get it to go because of poor service at the bar. The bartender, Linda, who claims to have worked there for the past 15 years. Not sure who she knows, but she is not doing the owner any solid. She is rude, rough and not a pleasant person to be around. She was the reason I stopped going to the bar and would get the food and eat from my lap. She is horrible and would not last a week more less years at a real restaurant. Please do us all a favor and put her out to pasture. Bring in someone that likes to talk and help people as they travel. read more

Older blonde woman is a disaster (2/13 midday). Rude, ignores, all over the place. I get that she's busy, but act like you care. YOU chose to deal with people when you got hired. Three medium sized TVs make this an okay place to wait for your flight, but with overpriced drinks and unfriendly servers (I'm looking at you, Linda), you might just be better off going to Dunkin Donuts across the way. read more

Avp- it's time to get a new bartender. All Linda does is complain. Not friendly, yells over bar, throws money in a pile-not organized. Refills dirty glass for refills. I have been coming here for 8 years and have the BEST service from Linda. The new menu is far better than years ago and Linda has professional and attentive customer service-Each and Every month! Excellent Bloody Mary today! I have watched the bar area get busier with the increased number of people and flights and still Linda manages to keep the drinks and food coming along with great service! I have watched the occasional high maintenance, demanding person come in over the years and embarrass themself and slow things down for the rest of the customers. The new chef (taller gentleman) and I use that term loosely, is very ignorant. As I came upon the menu in back of the cashier I said hello to him but got no response as he walked by me to go back into the kitchen. I then stood waiting to order food for lunch for a few minutes as he is right in front of me only 15 feet away. He clearly saw me standing there and yet gave no acknowledgment of my existence. I ended up leaving and went hungry for the next few hours because I decided that they will never get and business of me with such people working for them. The manager really needs to take care of this problem as I am told I'm not the only person who had issues with the chef. read more
