Great experience with Lufthansa. The stewards came a few times with drinks, water and tea. First they gave us nuts for snack. Then they came around with drinks, I got two Becks beer. Later they came around with dinner, which was curry chicken or rigatoni. An hour later, they gave out bottle of water. Later on, they came around with tea. Lastly, before we landed, they handed out a light breakfast empanada eggs with coffee. The flight was smooth with no turbulence! Also, I had extra leg space on both flights. Especially, when I was seating on the emergency exit row!

I did not have a good flight with Lufthansa. The departing gate at Frankfurt airport wasn't the best experience. There no organization when lining up for your group number, it's basically everyone just standing around instead of being in an organize line. They also don't put on the TV what group number they are boarding so everyone just have to listen to the PA system with their low volume. The plane itself was not comfortable for long flights. The entertainment system is very slow and not reactive on the touchscreen. The window seat doesn't have a lot of leg room because there was a metal box there.

Flew out of Frankfurt via Lufthansa Cityliner on the CRJ900 and it was a decent experience. Since I was transiting within the Schengen there was no security check, just a bus ride, a long walk underneath the terminal, and another elevator ride. As my incoming plane was delayed, our flight was slightly delayed. Counter agents walked by the departure gate to gate check carry-ons since the CRJ900 is a tiny plane. The inflight service consisted of a bottle of water, along with a piece of Lindt milk chocolate. There was no wifi for the 1 hour flight into Amsterdam. Cabin crew were available and seemed German. Once we landed in Amsterdam, we walked down the plane and walked back up to the terminal.

We spent over $2,000 on tickets with Lufthansa for the most important trip of our lives--our honeymoon--and they managed to damage not just our luggage, but the entire experience. Our suitcase didn't arrive "damaged." It arrived destroyed--like it had been dragged across a runway or run over by equipment. The shell was torn apart, deeply gouged, and covered in grime. Inside? Clothes crushed and stained, gifts ruined, and items missing entirely. Let that sink in. But somehow, the worst part wasn't even the destruction--it was what came after. We spent over 3 hours trying to get help, both on the phone and in person, only to be: Passed from one department to another Given completely different answers Sent in circles over and over Every single interaction felt the same: No ownership. No urgency. No real help. Just people who either didn't know what they were doing--or didn't care enough to figure it out. At some point, it stops feeling like disorganization and starts feeling like a system designed to wear you down until you give up. Imagine arriving for your honeymoon after 12+ hours of travel, only to deal with destroyed belongings, missing items, and hours of being bounced around like your situation doesn't matter. That's the reality of this experience. We've filed a formal claim and EVEN AFTER ONE MONTH have yet to hear back from an actual person to resolve our issue. For a $2,000+ trip, for a once-in-a-lifetime moment--this level of negligence and complete lack of accountability is unacceptable.

The boarding process and service on the flight earns 5 stars. It was the unboarding to a bus that packed us in like sardines that lowered the rating. Other than that, it was a very good flight from Kraków to Frankfurt. Everything went well from check-in to boarding at the airport. We were initially concerned that our carry-on luggage was too big. Lufthansa is usually very strict on size and weight. The young lady at the counter said it's not a full flight. All was good in the world from that point on. Thankfully she was right. She was also the same person who boarded us at the gate. I recalled a childhood memory while watching the flight attendant giving a child passenger a pin and some chocolate. The same thing happened to me when I was visiting my brother in Germany at the age of 12. I fondly remember receiving a chocolate egg with a miniature Lufthansa airplane inside of it. It was cool to see that they still do that today. It's the no frills type of Business Class seating that is standard on smaller aircraft. The middle seat is left unoccupied. Actually, there were a lot of open seats since the flight wasn't full. It made it more comfortable. We were served a light meal. We weren't expecting that. It was probably the best unexpected meal that I've ever had on an airplane. A Caprese burrata, fresh brötchen, and a Portuguese egg tart. The brötchen had a cheese topping. It was all very good. At the end of the flight, we were all given a mini sized Rizzati Ferrara Nocciola chocolate praline. It made my day. Honestly, I wish the US airlines would do something similar to set them apart. It's those little things that give lasting memories. The service was great! As I mentioned earlier, the schengen shuttle to Terminal 1 was a cluster. That was the only thing that dampened the experience. It's Frankfurt Airport. What can I say?

LUFTHANSA- Lisbon vacation was really great especially because we flew Lufthansa! Our flights were really smooth and on time . We flew from San Francisco to Frankfurt to Lisbon and then back . German engineering is definitely the best and we were treated very well. Discovered some German Rose that was really good too. Movie and Music selection was amazing ! And customer service was top tier . Look forward to our next flight !! Danke shun Lufthansa!!

Enjoyed the flights. Everything went smoothly and been awhile since I flew with this airline. Great service from checkin (used app but need to shown passport for international flight), to gate agents to flight attendants. Everything on time or even depart earlier. Foods are so so, didn't eat but saw them next to me. Overall well flights.

We had a great experience flying Lufthansa out of Frankfurt. Our seats were in Business Class, and although they did not have the fully reclining seat pods like United, the service was top-notch. We were treated very well all throughout the flight, with constant snacks and refreshments. The inflight announcements were spoken in both German and English. The attendants were very friendly. We had on-time boarding and arrived pretty much as scheduled. It was very comfortable and we were refreshed upon arriving at our destination. Danke!

Lufthansa currently serves 229 destinations worldwide across 901 routes in 81 countries. Traveling with Lufthansa offers a consistently reliable experience. Even when passengers arrive at the airport tired and stressed from last-minute preparations, the staff remain calm, polite, and professional -- a quality that deserves praise. Check-in is smooth, with online options that save time and reduce queues. Boarding is generally well-organized, though occasional delays on the jet bridge can test patience, softened by the crew's welcoming smiles. Economy seating provides adequate comfort and legroom, meeting expectations for long-haul travel. Meal service is satisfactory, with special orders such as vegetarian or Asian vegetarian options standing out for their quality when requested in advance. Flight attendants are attentive and courteous, responding promptly to passenger needs and maintaining a warm atmosphere throughout the journey. Operationally, Lufthansa excels in punctuality, safety, and efficiency. Baggage delivery is quick, and arrivals are usually smooth. The airline's extensive route network and transparent pricing make it easy to plan trips without hidden costs. Fares are generally reasonable, offering good value for the service provided. Overall, Lufthansa balances comfort, professionalism, and reliability, making it a strong choice for both leisure and business travelers. For connections, Frankfurt Airport remains a favorite hub, combining efficiency with excellent facilities.

Lufthansa (Deutsche Lufthansa AG) is the flag carrier of Germany. Initially called "Aktiengesellschaft für Luftverkehrsbedarf", or "Luftag", Lufthansa was founded in 1953 and beginning operations in 1955, Lufthansa is Germany's largest airline and the second largest in Europe by passenger count. When combined with its subsidiaries, Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe by fleet size and passengers carried, and the fourth largest in the world by revenue. Lufthansa has 267 airplanes registered under their name. It's comparable to Emirates in terms of size which operates 245 wide-body air carriers and makes it one of the biggest airlines in the world. Lufthansa has hubs in Frankfurt am Main and Munich, Germany, and flies to over 80 countries. The airline also has codeshare partnerships with other airlines, which allows passengers to access more destinations and departure times. Lufthansa's subsidiaries include Austrian Airlines, Swiss Air, Brussels Airlines, and "Eurowings". Lufthansa is a founding member of Star Alliance, the world's largest airline alliance, which was formed in 1997. The airline also has a frequent-flyer program called Miles & More, which has over 27 million members. Lufthansa is known for it's reliability. My numerous experiences flying Lufthansa have all been good in general, with the quality of of food, service, comfort and amenities being commiserate with the Class and the Distance of my flight. Although both Business & First Class are quite pricy, luckily I was an independent contractor for airline special events and often reduced my fee in exchange for some excellent RT tickets for myself and a companion. The First Class Lounge at the Frankfurt International Airport is one of the best in Europe.

Very nice service, I flew from MUC to KRK on student exchange. First of all, the legroom was great (1 inch of free space at 6' 1''/183cm), the recline also exceeded the quality of other airlines, even though it was a short hop. The flight was delayed by 10 minutes which isn't so bad. Although there was heavy turbulence the crew was able to fly the plane very smoothly and land somewhat okay. The flight attendants were very nice, funny and helpful, there was free water and chocolate. At the end of the flight I felt refreshed instead of exhausted (I was in the middle seat) and one flight attendant gave us the rest of all the chocolate bars, which was a boatload. Very good service, clean cabin and the seats had leather on them, in ECONOMY CLASS! I never saw something so good! I recommend Lufthansa over most of European airlines and the flight are reasonably-priced. read more

We travelled on Lufthansa Airlines in September on our trip from Austin to Naples, Italy. Our flight from Austin to Frankfurt Germany was delayed and so we arrived about 45 minutes behind schedule and it only left us 20 minutes to make our connecting flight. We ran out of airplane in hopes of making our connecting flight and noticed that the majority of the other travelers were running through the airport as well. After running for about 15, we arrived at a security check point with about 100 people in front of us. Needless to say we missed our flight and we're rescheduled automatically by Lufthansa airlines on a much later flight which was delayed multiple times. Our original arrival time to Naples,Italy was supposed to be 12 pm and we didn't get there until 12:30 am. read more

My daughter flew from Boston to florence Italy for a study abroad program. A number of students did not get their bags and we must have spent 5 hours on the phone with different customer service reps. We were given conflicting information on whether the bags arrived. we were finally told after 13 days they were in lost and found. The office is only open from 8-9 am and 3-4 pm each day!? We also had no luck with multiple calls with anyone answering. After two weeks our daughter took a train with another student and went to the lost and found office. There were 100's of bags ! Despite both having name and phone on the luggage tag no one took the time to call her! 2 weeks of stress for our daughter and many other students who should be enjoying this study abroad experience. read more

When everything works, the service aboard aircraft is OK. When things go wrong, poor customer service does not accurately describe the experience with the Service Center staff online and via phone (they have no e-mail). They are trained to give no useful information other than confirming booking data, and are actively trained to hang up on you if you want to have a real conversation or ask for a supervisor (they may not exist). Their English is exceptionally rude, too. Their attitude is inexplicable for a customer service setting. They only act as a deterrent to contact, after waiting hours to get them on the phone. They are trained to confirm something/anything, even if it is a blatant error, even if they are demonstrably wrong. So you can't get anything resolved. They have a feedback form at customer.relations@lufthansa.com, but this is not an escalation path, it is really just a form which collects and acknowledges feedback. read more

The airline onboard facility and service is fine. The call center and online chat is horrific. The call center (customer service) which is clearly outsourced to offshore countries, just ask them where they are located. I don't blame the people that work in the offshore call centers as they are simply working for a better income and life style. I do blame Lufthansa for exploiting low cost solutions with untrained personnel selected for their English skills and not for their ability to understand and solve problems or intelligence. I've recently had a call a gentleman who gave me 3 conflicting answers in a period of 20 min. I asked him for a supervisor. He said why. I told him he gave me 3 conflicting answers and I need a supervisor. after much pleading, he said 'no supervisor is available'. My ticket cost was $3,400 USD. I believe they are ranked lower than their peers if they can't solve a problem and having to go to a supervisor. Never use Lufthansa!!! read more

Terrible customer service. I upgraded to business class and my card was successfully charged only to find out at the airport that my upgrade didn't go through. After more than 1 hour with their customer service department, no explanation was provided, and they were only able to offer a refund. I'll never flying them again that's for certain. read more
I booked Lufthansa for my Frankfurt - Brussels flights. The plane was very basic and simple which js normal for a 40min flight.. it was weird to me that your snack is handed to you at the door when you enter the plane lol but why not... I was carrying my bags so didn't grab one so I'm not a fan, bring it to my seat please lol. read more

I had such a frustrating service with this airlines Lufthansa. They have not mentioned any thing about the transit Visa requirements for Frankfurt for who it's required. Even contacted their customer service and they said for transit waiting hrs less than 5 hrs don't require transit visa. At last when trying to check in they said no no you should have visa we'll try booking different route for you. Just to delay the cancel process. Then they said sorry apologies all our flight are operating through Germany only so we can't help you. And can't refund as refund can be processed only if you cancel before 24 hrs. They only misguided us and delayed cancellation now steal our money of £1200.00. Any how they are going to sell our return ticket to some one else why can't they refund that money. read more

Lufthansa sucks. Do NOT fly with them if you have a choice. Here's why: - notified us our business class bid was accepted by email - 1 minute later notified us it was denied - zero communication about Covid regulations - terrible customer service - we paid to select our seats (aisle seats) ahead of time then at check in we're told we were kicked out of our seats and had to select new ones. - I got to my plane on my newly selected aisle seat and my online boarding pass said my aisle seat but they printed me a new boarding pass that switched me to a middle seat with no communication to me. - my grandmother is handicap and needs a wheelchair, there was no one waiting for us for our connecting flight and we nearly missed the plane - did I say customer service SUCKS - most uncomfortable planes ever - seats literally feel like I'm sitting on a piece of flimsy cardboard. Writing this before I even try to collect my luggage, let's hope for a better ending to this journey.... read more

Lufthansa delayed my connection flight from Frankfurt to Calgary and eventually after 10 hours of waiting they informed us that the flight got cancelled!!! They only provided us with 7 Euro voucher for food and drink!!!! They didn't even provide us with a place to sleep! Passengers were sleeping in front of the gates till they catch their next alternative flight in the next morning!! There was no customer service at all. Lufthansa didn't even accept to refund us! Not to mention that I arrived at my final destination a staggering 28 hours later than the scheduled plan. Horrible experience with Lufthansa. Never gonna travel with Lufthansa ever again!! read more
Totally different experience today here in Frankfurt. Flight was on-time, received an email update with flight status, and the document check was beyond pleasant. The nice young man doing it upgraded the boarding group because of our TSA pre-check status (not that it mattered too much - we had to take a bus to the plane and we didn't have too much in the way of hand luggage). Boarding was quick and easy. Travelers tip: avoid this airport, if possible, Christmas week. It is beyond busy. read more

I booked my flight 6 month ago and around 2 month ago I got the first e-Mail with the information that my flight was canceled and rescheduled. I called Lufthansa Customer service and there was a very nice man who helped me to rescheduling my flight. A month later, my flight was rescheduled twice, WITHOUT letting me know, I only saw it because I checked the Lufthansa app! Then last week I got another e-Mail that my flight was canceled again, though I called the Customer Service AGAIN. First I tried 6 times, the computer hung up on my every time, then I tried it very early in the morning on the next time and I had to wait für 35 minutes until someone picked up. (Unfortunately that seems to be normal...) The woman was not very friendly, I told her my story and she didn't even apologies for her company or said anything to it. Anyhow she gave me a new flight and muted herself for around 5 minutes without letting me know. I was talking and asked if someone is still there etc... no answer, then she unmuted herself for 2 second and was muted again.. I was calling her and said that I heard her and suddenly she was back. This is not only rude, it is also unprofessional! I am really disappointed... Lufthansa used to be better like that! read more

HORRIBLE!!!!!!! zero customer service. Lost luggage. Totally messed up, even when my husband CLEARLY had a boarding pass in his hand, was told he didn't have a seat assignment. WHAT??!! They are HORRID! and the "company" they used for their lost luggage was also HORRID! you can't even contact anyone there. Would've expected much more for such a major airline. The epitome of well known crappy German customer service. Rudest ticketing agents ever. Many without common sense and ability to adapt to various situations. Their German rigidness really has no place in the airline world where service is priority. I avoid completely. read more
took lufthansa airlines out of yvr to frankfurt... very clean and spacious economy class. flight attendants well groomed and always smiling and can speak perfect english. for the 10 hr flight, was served with a welcome beverage of your choice ( wine and Champagne included) , 2 hot towel service, lunch and bfast too, and several rounds of juices and water! lunch i chose ginger chicken...came with tender pieces of chicken and boiled carrots and soft rice. for airplane food it was above expectations. the chicken was tender and moist. rice was cooked well and carrots were tender. tasted like teriyaki chicken really but i enjoyed it. the bread was stale and cold. one bite i left it. the salad was ordinary but the cake was good . i noticed that the salad and cake were not covered in plastic though....minus 1 start cause of this. bfast was salsa, scrambled eggs and 3 pcs of bacon! eggs were ok..made from powdered eggs. bacon was real bacon, although not crispy but still ok for plane fair. again, bread was cold and stale. lol. cane with a yogurt cup which was cold and finished off the meal nice. for snacks, packaged pretzels of course, and my fav part...kitkat chocolate bars... inflight entertainment was one of the best...huge touch screen and foldable tray tables, and even a pop out cup holder while the table is secured. lots f movies to choose from, as well as live tv, music, games, tv series, short films etc....i was not bored during the entire 9hr flight. washrooms were kept clean and well maintained! my only complain, the ac was not that cold. didn't even use the blanket, just the pillow. take off was a breeze. no turbulence or bumpy experience. landing was perfect too. would fly again for sure! all things considered...still 4 stars! cheers! read more

Worst customer service I've ever experienced! Last week I flew out for my honeymoon and our flight was delayed this was going to possibly cause me and my husband to miss our connecting flight. We flew business class because we were on our honeymoon, we noticed how late the delay had made us and we tried to ask the flight attendants for help on the plane explaining the situation and they completely dismissed us, saying they couldn't do anything and talk to the ground crew, we even tried to explain that we were trying to make it to our honeymoon destination and already paid for a hotel room that day, still no empathy or kindness. We ran around the airport trying to make it to our gate and no one was there, then we spoke to another gate agent from another flight, who asked us to speak to the service center, we missed our connecting flight to our honeymoon destination. Wow the person at the service center was so rude, we tried to explain to her what happened and I told her I usually don't get upset or complain but that this has been horrible, we've been running around and no one has helped us even though we asked multiple times and it's our honeymoon. And she says how would people know it's your honeymoon and I told her I mentioned it to the flight attendants. I could not believe her response being a customer service agent. I told her this whole experience had been a lot and she told me we all have a lot going on, again dismissing how we felt and putting the blame on us, I could not believe it. I will NEVER fly Lufthansa again, worst part of our honeymoon experience!! read more

On the positive side: we arrived alive with our luggage. My #1 criteria. On the negative side: flight #1 from Barcelona to Munich was delayed. After arriving in Munich we went through passport control from Germany and another checkpoint to wait for the next flight to the USA. Once in this area of the terminal I was reluctant to leave due to the line and wait to get in. Military patrol with a machine gun, and a group of 10 armed officers reinforced this position. The food options available to the hundreds of passengers consisted of one food cart of unrefrigerated sandwiches. Skipped this. The water bottle filling station was out of service, if you wanted water, you had to buy bottled water. The vending machines sold only junk food. No hot food options at all in the section of the airport where you wait to fly to the USA. No fresh fruit or veggies. At one point there were dozens and dozens in line for this single cart with one employee. We wrongly assumed that there would be food options in this large section of the airport. The flight was delayed one hour. We were told this was due to a new computer system and the inability to electronically process preflight ¨paperwork.¨ The 17+ hour trip became an 18+ hour trip. Looked through the inflight menu for something to eat. When I asked to purchase a bag of nuts, I was told I had to wait until after they served dinner on this 11+ hour flight. I ordered a special veggie Hindu meal in the hopes of finding something edible. The entree was actually OK, tofu with saffron rice and dal. There was a very small portion of fruit. When a passenger nearby asked if there was a choice of meal for dinner he was told, ¨no choice at all.¨ Everyone got plain veggie pasta. When I tried to order the bag of nuts after dinner I got an apology and was told they could not sell any food from their in flight menu on this long haul international flight from Munich to SFO! When I suggested they just give away the food this suggestion was dismissed as being impossible. Something about the computer system and/or the caterer...To her credit, the stewardess went to 1st class and swiped a bag of nuts for me. -Wow! a bag of nuts on a long haul international flight! Why do they put a menu of food for sale at every seat if they are not actually ready, willing and able to sell food? Why not tell passengers that there will be one food cart at the terminal serving every flight to the USA, and zero food available to purchase in flight? There was a ¨breakfast¨ (?) meal served when we were over Canada. I got a white bread sandwich with a smear of something green with a couple thin slices of cucumber and some very little squares of eggplant. :) Did not eat the desserts as I am avoiding sugar. Did not eat the palm oil spread, butter substitute because, why would you? I would be surprised if I got 800 calories from Lufthansa during this 18+ hour trip. I expect more for a $1,200 ticket on what is reportedly a 5* airline. On the positive side: Lost two pounds. Really appreciated the pre-flight breakfast at the lounge in Barcelona. Pro-tip: Pack your own lunch, dinner and snacks. The entertainment system failed during the flight, but they were able to get it started again eventually. On the flight from SFO to Madrid on Swiss (owned by Lufthansa) they assured me several times that 40 minutes was more than enough time to make the connection Zurich. I was skeptical, but I trusted that they knew what they were talking about. Just clearing passport control took almost an hour and we missed the connection. There were only two people working passport control as a crowed of hundreds descended on this section of the airport with at least 10 empty passport control counters and zero airport staff to manage the crowd or to pull people with short connections to the front. So much for Swiss efficiency. A third guy showed up, but it was too late. Totally impossible to make this connection. The hundreds of arriving international passengers were incredulous. Preflight: Wasted hours on the phone trying coordinate seat reservations. Agents in Europe took over one hour on each call. They were courteous and useless. Eventually got to a call center in Canada that was helpful. On hold for over an hour each time. There is no ¨chat¨. Emails to customer service had no result; except for one response weeks later which came after the trip was over! Kind of hard to believe that this is an ongoing business. Heard one Lufthansa agent berating the entire group of passengers waiting to go to Boston! Flight crew on our flights were nice. read more

Horrible airline with horrible customer service and pitiful food. Once pretty good but now at the bottom of the heap which is saying a lot given the sorry state of the airline industry. Very disappointed. Their customer service sucks. They rescheduled my flights but did not reimbursed my seat reservations. Talked to their representative multiple times and they promised to do it. I am a frequent flyer with Lufthansa and a few other airlines, but Lufthansa became one of the cheapest airline to use (and not talking about prices here), but their conditions are getting worse than low-cost airlines and this applies for all classes! It seems ridiculous that you cannot make a seat upgrade when you bought an economy ticket (even if you flew before in business with them) or if they are sharing the flight with another airline (which on international routes this is common) even though their are Star Alliance partners. Their customer service on the phone is especially very rude and not professional at all, regardless how polite and respectful you are when talking to them or how basic the question addressed is. Getting tired also of hearing they are understaffed and that's how they justify their poor quality. You fired people during Covid, then you never bring them back and you expect to keep up with daily duties and have good reviews, while continuing to increase prices. read more

Flight out of Munich LH790 June 19th 22.15 via singapore to australia. Hsband has an electronic resident visa since 2005. Check-in staff kept insisting for hardcopy. So they called supervisor on duty who was not so smart but very arrogant and repeated the same. Even saying Hans could not board and had to buy another return ticket? why there was no issue with the ticket just the old terminals in Munich that could not read/scan his Visa. After an hour 7PM-8PM of discussions with COUNTER staff and STATION supervisior ON SUNDAY and searching through our laptop we found a copy. To this the check-in counter staff member replied it could be FAKE!!!! Anyway we finally boarded the flight but only as far as singapore transit. My husband Hans had to collect his boarding pass there so we departed Munich. Once in sinpaore we went to the TRANSFER counter in terminal 3 and within 2 seconds was given a boading pass by singapore airlines who operated the LUFTHANSA LH9774 flight back to Australia. Their terminals had no issue with scannng his passport and reading the resident visa electronically. The biggest issue was the arragonce of the station supervisor on duty at that time with threats of not being able to leave and STAFF refusing to listen but talking his own story. Unfortunately, the power AIRLINE STAFF HAVE IN A SITUATION LIKE THIS over you is STRESSFUL and INTIMIDATING. But when you speak up and try to prove them wrong with evidence they call you RUDE!!!!! or your documents fake though they claimed they wanted prove of visa and could clearly see the evidence on the laptop. However, had that been a Hardcopy they would have accepted it as proof. This was verbally confirmed when we asked the counter staff. WOULD GIVE '0' NEGATIVE EXPERIENCE.... read more

Dear fellow business travelers, I would like to share my extremely disappointing experience of my recent business class round-trip from Houston, TX to Haneda Airport in Tokyo with a stop in Austin, TX and a two-day layover in Frankfurt with Lufthansa. I am still paying the price, for my unforgettable mistake of booking flights LH716 from Frankfurt to Tokyo on March 22, 2023, and LH717 from Tokyo to Frankfurt on April 17, 2023. To start, one of our bags was delayed for more than five (5) days, and the airline's customer service at the Frankfurt Airport was unhelpful in resolving the issue. Despite spending over an hour discussing the problem, we received no information about the status of our bags, and they seemed indifferent to our inconvenience. Thankfully, a lady, Ms. VINAS DE BOEHNKE - service agent who overheard our conversation, and helped us establishing the status of the missing bag. Furthermore, Lufthansa's reimbursement policy for the toiletries and clothing was unclear and unsatisfactory. We were informed after the fact via email that Lufthansa only refunds 100% of the toiletry items and 50% of the clothing, we had to purchase in Frankfurt and at the airport before our departure to Japan. Although we filed the expense reports with corresponding copies of the receipts on April 27th, we have been receiving daily emails stating that they cannot issue reimbursements due to the lack of receipts, which were originally filed. This has been a frustrating experience and has resulted in repeated filings of the same receipts. During our return trip from Tokyo, we were assigned a seat in the lower deck of the business class section, which was broken, making the 11-hour and 40-minute flight extremely uncomfortable. When we brought this to the attention of the head flight attendant, she was apologetic, but did not offer any solution other than the manual manipulation of the seat, every time we needed to change its position. To our surprise, two members of what we believe was an orchestra seated in the upper deck of the business class section with their cellos strapped into chairs next to them. The head flight attendant could have easily asked one of them to switch seats with us, as the cellos would not have minded if their seat did not recline. Instead, we had to manually manipulate the seat every time we needed to change positions. Although the flight attendants offered to compensate us for the damaged seat, they changed their minds three (3) times, stating that the compensation was only offered to European travelers, not Americans. For the high price of a business class ticket, I expected much better treatment and a more comfortable experience. Imagine if it were a business trip; these problems could have had significant consequences. I strongly recommend not to entrust Lufthansa with your travel needs and advise others to look elsewhere for your travel requirements. #lufthansa, #lufthansahorribleservice #donottravelbusinesslufthansa read more

Warning for anyone flying Lufthansa. If you are ever promised to be reimbursed for expenses when they lose your luggage, don't ever count on it. Especially for anyone military or disabled. My two kids and I flew to Germany several months ago. When we arrived in Berlin, my suitcase was no where to be found. I stood in line with the dozen or so others who were missing bags. When I finally reached the front, I was told the bags were normally located within a day. I explained to the representative that I was a disabled vet and both my medications and my sleep apnea device were in the suitcase. They promised they would "do what they could" and that I would be reimbursed for any expenses that were incurred. The documents they handed me stated the same. The next day: no bag. I continued to check the website, call and email. No response. The website for lost luggage just stated it was still missing. We left and stopped at several stores, including second hand stores, to find cheap clothes and other necessities, including a small suitcase and toiletries. I thought I did pretty well and, during the travels, kept the cost under $500.00. EXACTLY ONE WEEK LATER We were in Munich for a couple days. I received an email finally notifying me the suitcase was in Berlin. The email had a phone number to call with any questions or concerns. Simple solution: Fly the bag to Munich, as we were there for another couple days, or fly it to Vienna, where our next stop was. No response to emails. Phone calls bounced through automated systems like a pinball. I selected every option throughout the entire system and never reached a live person. This continued a couple days before I gave up. EXACTLY TWO WEEKS LATER We arrived back in Berlin where we would stay for two more days before flying home. I went to the airport to finally retrieve the luggage. I parked in the temporary lot which allowed for 20 minutes of parking before fees incurred. I went in and, after much hunting, located the area where the lost bags office for Lufthansa. Literally hundreds and hundreds of suitcases, bags, etc. It took 40 minutes to find it. I mentioned paying the fine for the parking. The rep stated: "You can add it to the claim for reimbursement. Just keep the receipt". We returned home and, within a couple weeks, I sent off the claim and receipts, along with copies of the original lost bag documents and emails I had received. After a month I received an email requesting I send the documents for the claim again. I resent the documents with the information. Six weeks later, I received another email requesting my ticket information and address. I sent the information back again with the message about a third time After two more months I received a final email: "Dear J*** C****, Thank you for your feedback We sincerely apologize for the unintentional delay in responding to you. As Per your email, we regret to hear that your baggage was delayed at your destination. We can imagine what it meant for you to travel and not have your essential items as you intended. Please accept our sincere apologies for the inconvenience caused to you on this occasion. Liability for baggage is clearly regulated by law, and we must fulfill certain criteria in order to be able to meet your request for compensation. The passenger must indicate the damage amount and prove it with the help of receipts, e.g., sales receipts or credit card receipts. As much as we understand your irritation, we are unable to comply with your request for reimbursement of the expenses for your replacement purchases. We hope for your understanding that we cannot pay damage compensation under these circumstances. We nevertheless hope to welcome you on board a Lufthansa flight again soon. Sincerely, Furious is an understatement. I fly quite a bit, nationally for the most part but internationally about once a year. The only other time I've had a bag lost on international flight was Canada Air. I waited about 36 hours and my bag was delivered to my hotel by the airline. As far as I've experienced, Lufthansa Airlines is the worse international airline for anyone to ever conduct business with. I would especially warn my fellow veterans, and even more so if you're disabled and have special required necessities. Lufthansa was a horrible experience, both with the inability to keep luggage accounted for and their refusal to comply with their own guarantees and verbal promises. I was offered nothing. Not only did they not reimburse me for my costs, as promised, but not even a simple offer of air miles. Just the words: "We hope to welcome you on board again soon. That is most definitely not ever going to happen again. read more

My family and I had an absolutely horrific experience with Lufthansa this past month. This all occurred on May 20, 2023 concerning a flight from Charlotte, NC to Munich, Germany. My cousin's birthdate was incorrect on her boarding pass, so when she tried to go through security, she was sent back to the help desk to get it fixed. Her boyfriend was traveling with us as well, and he went with her to the help desk. The agent at the desk fixed her boarding pass, and then she decided to go ahead and check the boyfriend's boarding pass as well to ensure everything was fine for both of them. The agent found a discrepancy between the boyfriend's name on his passport versus the name on his booking. The name on the booking was "Kiah," which is what we all call him on a daily basis, but his government name is "Hezekiah," and that's what is in his passport. One might think that this is an easy fix. The agent can just go in and correct his name to match his passport just like they changed my cousin's birthdate to match her actual birthdate. WRONG! My cousin, her boyfriend, and my uncle fought with a plethora of agents at the Lufthansa help desk for HOURS trying to get this simple problem fixed. They were met with hatred, confusion, dismissal, and every other form of ignorant customer service you can imagine. Meanwhile, the 4 other people in our party (including myself) were already waiting at our gate ready to board. And mind you, we're trying to get on our first flight that will eventually connect us to Athens, Greece for a wedding that we cannot miss. The worst possible thing that could've happened happened. After 3 straight hours of bickering with agents and trying to solve this seemingly simple issue, my uncle, cousin, and her boyfriend were forced by Lufthansa to stay back in Charlotte, NC and resolve the issue while the rest of us got on a plane to Munich, Germany. Our family was quite literally separated by the Atlantic Ocean, which, as I'm sure most can imagine, was very emotionally traumatizing in its own right, not to mention especially for my aunt who is disabled and whose daughter and husband (my uncle and cousin) were left behind. According to my uncle, cousin, and her boyfriend, they were on the phone for virtually 3 whole days trying to straighten out this issue. My uncle, who took the brunt of the disservice from Lufthansa, was told time and time again that he needed to check with United (whom Lufthansa is under) to fix the booking, but then when he called United, they told him to check with Lufthansa. So, it was a constant back and forth which would eventually lead him to no solutions and just more confusion and frustration. Agents gave him no information whatsoever, and when he asked to speak with their supervisors, it was claimed that they were all "busy." Yeah. Busy being unhelpful and awful. And, of course, since they were forced to stay in Charlotte, they had to stay in a hotel and buy food for which they were given no compensation or vouchers for. We also had flights with a different airline (called Sky Express, a flight from Athens to Santorini) that my uncle was forced to repurchase because of Lufthansa's mistakes. These are thousands of dollars that my uncle lost. This doesn't even get into the emotional damages that my cousin's boyfriend went through and felt. Looking back on this experience, it is quite obvious to us that there was a racial factor at play since he was the only person in our party who was black. If his passport photo and license photo matched (which they did), it's hard to see why a simple addition of "Heze-" on his boarding pass couldn't be made unless there was underlying discrimination occurring. I know wholeheartedly that if a man named "Johnathan" booked under the name "John," there would be no issues whatsoever. Not to mention how they treated Hezekiah like a child, constantly dismissing his concerns and talking down to him like he had no idea what he was talking about. Absolutely disgusting. Needless to say, amongst the hell that the airline industry is, Lufthansa is the absolute worse. Not once were any of us given any consolation, compassion, remorse, or encouraging words. All we were met with was unapologetic rudeness, confusion, ignorance, inability to cooperate, and so on. We are still discussing this situation because it is honestly the last thing we expected to happen. Not once when we planned this trip did we expect to lose half of it due to the blatant idiocy that Lufthansa clearly perpetuates in their staff. We will never fly Lufthansa again, and I don't recommend to anyone unless you're looking to permanently damage your mental well-being. read more

I've liked their on board product in the past.... Problem is, if you buy a ticket with a codeshare airline (in my case, United), then an issue arises (in my case, Lufthansa removed a flight from their schedule) then you are SOL... I spent almost $1k in cabin and seat upgrades, assignments for a multi city itinerary, and was left with no flight on 3rd segment... United had to change the whole itinerary, and Lufthansa would not refund me the upgrades because "I made" the change, even though it was their action that made it necessary... It was horrible experience for a trip that was to happen in future... I'll never use them again read more

This flight was my first flight on Lufthansa. I've been waiting for months to take this flight, as I have decided I couldn't handle the abuse from United Airlines any longer. With that, and both my eyes looking forward, new adventures and experiences await me. I took the long way from Los Angeles to Brussels via Vancouver and Munich on July 20th. The combination of being in seat 1-G, and a newer, A-350-900 with 3 camera views and a GPS guidance tracking was more than I could handle. BOARDING - The boarding was great. Business Class receives their own jetway which makes you feel very special, and brought the "boarding chaos" to level zero. Something American carriers have yet to figure out. SERVICE - I told my flight attendant that it was my first flight on both the aircraft, and Lufthansa, and I probably shouldn't have done that. She wanted to give me perfect service, in which the more she tried, the more frustrated she became. Service was excellent anyways, with only small mistakes that happens to newbies. QUALITY - The food and beverage quality were excellent. By the sounds of the menu, Lufthansa was going to go out of my safe zones in what I like and what I will try. They reined it in, and though the menus read more complicatedly than they were, everything was delicious. The classiest items I noticed were proper salt and pepper dispensers, and butter in a proper butter plate. Details keeps you in the dream, and one cheap short-cut could ruin it all. I think Lufthansa did an excellent job, and if the bean-counters try to change things at Lufthansa, Service Mangers, stand your ground. Anyone can be United, or American. WHAT I WOULD LIKE TO SEE - For your intercontinental flights, fresh, heated rolls and cookies through First and Business Class would be a great idea. The smell would be incredible. When flying into a particular country, select a brand or two of whiskey or wine from that country. For example, from Canada, perhaps Crown Royal. Going to Mexico, you are already bringing Tequila. I am a whiskey drinker, and I was disappointed that they didn't carry Crown Royal Whiskey from a Canadian/German flight. This was an EXCELLENT first flight with Lufthansa, and it was a quick 11 hours over Greenland and down into Europe. The Europeans have made it all very easy. No need for forms or pens, and there were no exceptionally long lines. read more

I wish I could give this flight a 0 rating. Never ever booking with them again. No refunds, no vouchers, no help, and the customer service really sucks. Someone should cancel this airlines. Please cancel airlines so no one else gets scammed. They are big scammers, the worst in ever! read more

Worst airline and worst customer service . Lufthansa managed to lose my checked bag on two separate trips in a span of four weeks. After waiting on the phone for over 30 minutes and telling the customer service agent about my situation, he then tells me he doesn't handle luggage and can give me the luggage department's number if I want. So of course I'm irritiated and I let him know that Lufthansa is inefficient and they should have a prompt upfront when someone calls to dial this number for delayed or lost luggage so to not waste people's time. And when I asked him to give me the number, he says no and tells me to go to hell and hangs up on me. This just sealed the deal that I will never patronize such a disgusting and truly inefficient company. They deserve -100,000 stars. read more

Lufthansa has become psychopathic, not caring about customers or service, scamming people out of their money (in our case they canceled the flight and did not give our money back for upgraded seats). They used to be a good airline. Something horrible happened to their vision. Needless to say, we will be filing a complaint about a multitude of issues we have with this airline. We are pretty experienced travelers, but the complete lack of regard we received from this airline combined with lack of communication and scamming us out of our money is the new experience..stay away from this dishonest airline. read more
Disaster from beginning to end. Upgraded to premium economy from New York to Sweden at a price of about 500 € for two to get some extra luggage home. Had to pay 100 € extra in N.Y even though i asked the lady at the Lufthansa counter in Frankfurt before we left for the U.S if the premium economy baggage rules applied even though i booked economy from the beginning and upgraded later. She said yes. 1 bag (my wifes. You can imagine the hassle.....) was missing when we landed in N.Y even though we had 2 hours in Frankfurt before take off. Thanks to this we had to go back to Newark the next day loosing about 4 hours of hour christmas holiday, spending money on the taxi to get there and back. We barely had time to get back to the city and change clothes to get to our reservation at Eleven Madison Park wich was almost impossible to get a table at. For our 500 € upgrade we got a little bit more legroom, the same menu as economy/coach but we get metal utencils instead of plastic.... The service level on the flight home in premium economy was worst then any long haul economy flight i have been on when the stewardess constantly missed asking us if we wanted something to drink etc. Finally. I sent a email pretty much with the above info along with the missing bag number and all other info asking for some compansation or refund as i feel cheated. This was 6 weeks ago. The answer? They have not yet answered. No more Lufthansa for me in the future. read more

I feel dizzy it's like being on a round about that won't stop!!! Trying to get a hold of someone that can help me is a nightmare. I booked through American Express Platinum Travel, and even they are having problems. Lufthansa said to go through Amex, they told Amex I should contact directly on a feedback link which they do not respond to. They want to charge me $500 on my business class fully refundable ticket, even though they are not flying to the country of my destination anymore. WTF Lufthansa you use to be a great airline now like many others you are going down the wrong path and not looking after your customers. Shame on you...... read more

This is the absolute worse airline ever, they are liars, scammers and scum. I bought 2 ways ticket to Dubai I already visited Dubai few months ago 2 hours before my flight right when I am about to check in, the crappy staff tells me I can't check in because I don't have visa for Dubai, I told him its visa free for 30 days for USA citizens and I can extend it there free of charge. I was staying 2 days more than 30 days which can easily get extended or pay a small fine for overstaying. He makes up lies that I can't go back to Dubai for 90 days then tells me that I need to change my flight to to make it less than 30 days. My original ticket price was $966 with seat selected in advance he tells me the immigration office In Dubai will check my return tickets and if I don't have it, I can't enter Dubai and I may not even be allowed to come to Dubai because of my last visit. They force me in pressured situation when I had less than 2 hours to my flight to pay $1613.80 extra to change my flight date they made me wait for 40 minutes I was close to lose my flight, I had to borrow money to pay this ridiculous amount, then they don't even give me my ticket, they just gave me recipe, that's it!!! they tell me the ticket will be emailed to me. I flied to Munich for 11 hours and I was in Munich German airport for 9 hours they still did not email me I finally arrive to Dubai after 26 hours they STILL have not emailed me my return ticket. I was so stressed I barley slept from all the anxiety their lies gave me. The immigration office in Dubai did not even look or ask for my return ticket, I asked them is their such rule that you cannot return to Dubai for 90 days after 30 days visa free for American citizens, they told me no, I can come back anytime and it would be visa free. After I arrive in Dubai. I call Lufthansa and complain to them and in return they send me a link to fill out my complain its been more than 15 days they have not replied to my complain and refunded me. They ruined my 2023 charismas with their scam. After I called them they send me my ticket while I was already in Dubai for 1 day. Based on their lie I should have had my ticket before entering Dubai but they never emailed it. Also while I was flying to Munich one of the staff hit my head so hard I had to get an ice for my head. This is the worst airline ever, I ended up spending close to $2500, with less than that money I could have gotten a direct flight from Emirates Air line but I thought maybe I can save money with this airline. Avoid this airline at all cost they are liars, scammers, and certainly not a money saver. They will ruin your holidays and put you through pointless anxiety that is not healthy to your body and mental state. there is an old saying "I don't have money to buy cheap things" is very true towards Lufthansa and Swiss Airline since they are practically the same company. read more

Hands down the WORST airline experience I have ever had. Absolutely despicable customer service over and over again. Canceled flight with no warning and no offer to refund what I paid for it. Customer service is still giving me the run around THREE WEEKS later. ABSOLUTELY HORRIFIC. Will NEVER FLY with these jerks again and will make sure every single person I come in contact with that travels will hear my story. These people should not be allowed to operate a business. The short truth is that Lufthansa genuinely does not care about its customers and their experience. They will take your money, keep it when you do not get the service and will treat you like a less-than-human the whole time. Traveling is stressful enough. Learn from my mistakes and do not choose to fly with this airline. This is the detailed version of what happened: I had a business trip booked taking me from SFO to Frankfurt and then on to Verona. Because of a co-workers diligence in checking on things we found out that my second flight had been canceled due to the strikes. Lufthansa gave me NO notification of this. Thank god for the diligence of my co-worker. When I arrived to SFO to check in for the first leg of my journey I went to the counter to see what could be done about the canceled flight. Despite my pleasant attitude when I approached the desk (I understand strikes, I have a lot of European friends) I was received by the most horrible woman I have ever had the displeasure of dealing with. She told me she could help me with nothing and I had to call to re-book. I let her know that I had been trying to call since I woke up and that the lines were so busy they would not even ring through. She had no response to that and just stood there glaring at me. When I realized I was going to get nowhere on that issue I moved on to my second question about possibly paying to upgrade to a slightly better seat on my first flight. She replied in the snottiest tone possible "Yeah, for $900 dollars." At that point I just gathered up my things, said thank you and walked away. That woman alone was enough for me to never want to deal with this airline again. It would be one thing if I was unpleasant when I approached her, but I was not. I have worked in customer service a lot and I know that these people have no control over these situations and are just the messengers. They do have control over their attitudes though! I never was able to get through to re-book anything and ended up buying a $275 train ticket and taking 9 hours of train rides to get to my destination, replacing my 1 hour flight. Once I was at my destination I borrowed the phone of a co-worker that had a good international plan and called to see what would be done about issuing me a refund, etc. A VERY rude person answered and told me I had to email customer relations. Ok. I emailed. I heard nothing. Seven days later I followed up, only to get a reply that proved the agent writing had not even read my initial request of a few lines. I wrote back to clarify. Days. Again, a reply not answering my question. I clarified. Days. Another email, this time about my return trip and how I am in the wrong because they booked a hotel for me, etc. for my messed up journey back. (Oh, did I mention they completely messed up my return trip in the mean time and I was stuck in Germany for 17 hours?!) I wrote back again to clarify that I was not talking about my return trip, but as my initial inquiry clearly stated was asking about my trip going over and being refunded for a flight they canceled. I am STILL WAITING. Other fun notes: -$35 to be able to select a seat? Come on! -Delayed flights first thing in the morning -Very expensive flights for horrible service -Terrible customer service when my Father called to find out the status of my flight when the Lufthansa website did not update. Given that they had just lost a plane in a crash and everyone perished you would think they would have at least been more helpful in that moment. Nope! Shame on you Lufthansa. read more

To: Carsten Spohr CEO Von-Gablenz-Straße 2-6 50679 Köln, Germany Dear Mr. Spohr, On July 3, 2016, I sent the first letter by email to you, Mr. Carsten Spohr, CEO of Lufthansa. In this letter I asked you to make sure that my return ticket to ... is not cancelled because I was not able to return to ... on March 30, 2016 because of my medical condition. Currently I am still in rehabilitation in two hospitals here in Toronto, Canada in order to recover from my brain injury and brain operation that followed. For some unexplainable reason, the response that came from you indicated that you could not find my name in the passengers' list of the flights I took with your airline even though I have provided you with my full first and last name, the flights dates, and the flights numbers. I must say that in this time of terrorism, it is worrisome that you were not able to find me in the list of the passengers. Today (July 22, 2016) at 5:00pm I called the Lufthansa Reservations Centre of Peterborough Ontario Canada. The phone number I called was 1-800-563-5954 and I spoke with ... (agent sign: ..., location call centre: ...). I gave him my full first and last name, the flights dates, and the flights numbers. I asked him to give me my flight ticket number based on the information that I provided him. He could not find my name in the passenger lists of these flights. He was able to find out that I have been on these flights only after I actually provided him with my ticket number. Lufthansa is the largest airline in Europe. It is truly very disturbing to find out that safety concerns are not on the top of the list of Lufthansa. In addition, there was a delay of the flight from Frankfurt to Toronto due to mechanical problems with the airplane. I had to stay overnight in Frankfurt before continuing my journey to Toronto while I was after brain injury and in need of medical attention. In addition, when I called the Lufthansa Reservations Centre of Peterborough Ontario Canada before my return flight to ... which was scheduled for March 30, 2016, they were rude when I asked them to postpone my flight back to ... because all my doctors in Canada advised me to continue with treatment for rehabilitation before I return to ... I did not have the strength at the time to argue with the people of Lufthansa Reservations Centre. In addition, after a few reminders from me by email, you responded to my request by asking me for information stating that you could not find me in the passengers list of flight ... that left ... to Frankfurt on February 23, 2016 and you could not find my name on the passenger list of the flight that left to Toronto from Frankfurt. You asked me to provide you with my ticket number or the reservation code. On July 15, 2016 I sent you my Lufthansa itinerary which includes the booking reference and the ticket number and my boarding ticket from Frankfurt to Toronto which includes the ticket number. I have not heard from you yet despite the fact that I have sent you several reminders. In addition, as I have stated previously in my two letters to you, I will provide you with all necessary medical documentation from my doctors in Canada and in ... I think that any other airline would have postponed my flight due to my serious medical condition and given all the difficulties that your airline has caused me, I would expect a compensation too. I look forward to your response soon. Yours truly, I received a response from Lufthansa a month later saying that I have to pay $600 for my return (the round trip ticket cost me $700). I will take them to court. read more

Also, just a quick tip: if you need to cancel your booking, you can get a full refund as long as you do it within 24 hours of booking and your flight is at least 7 days away. I recently flew with Lufthansa and got to experience their different cabins. Honestly, their Economy is pretty decent if you just want a standard, budget-friendly flight with good entertainment. But if you can, upgrading to Premium Economy is totally worth it for the extra legroom, wider seats, and better food. Now, if you are looking to splurge, their Business Class (Club World) is next level--the lounge access is amazing, the seats lie completely flat so you can actually sleep, and the meals are great. Across the board, the crew was super friendly and helpful. Definitely a solid choice no matter which class you fly. 1. Seamless Reservations & Elite Travel Planning The Lufthansa journey begins with a booking process designed entirely around flexibility and efficiency. Passengers securing a Business Class (Club World) ticket are met with premium seating choices, priority benefits, and highly adaptable itinerary options. The booking system handles flight schedules, traveler details, and seating preferences effortlessly, delivering an instant, well-organized itinerary that ensures peace of mind right from the start. 2. Priority Ground Experience & Exclusive Lounge Access Flying premium completely redefines the time spent at the airport, replacing long queues with absolute comfort. Dedicated check-in desks ensure a swift arrival at the terminal, while fast-track security lanes offer a smooth, expedited path straight to the departure gates. Once past security, passengers gain access to exclusive airport lounges--elegant spaces featuring comfortable seating, complimentary refreshments, quiet workspaces, and a peaceful atmosphere to unwind before the flight. Priority boarding caps off the ground experience, allowing travelers to step onto the aircraft early and settle in without any rush. 3. Sophisticated Cabin Comfort & Signature Hospitality Once on board, the premium cabin environment showcases a dedication to comfort, privacy, and impeccable service. The spacious seating layout offers generous legroom and clever design touches, creating a perfect space for both getting work done or getting a good night's sleep. The cabin is maintained to the highest standards of cleanliness and quiet refinement. Throughout the journey, the highly professional cabin crew delivers attentive, courteous, and personalized service, ensuring every passenger feels genuinely valued. 4.

The official 'customer service **Lufthansa** (toll-free) number is **1 (888) 305-4803™ or +1 (888)~305~4803** for additional assistance. Support is available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week for passengers needing help with reservations, flight changes, cancellations, rebooking, baggage inquiries, refunds, and other travel-related concerns. The customer service team assists travelers with managing existing bookings, updating itineraries, exploring alternative travel options, and addressing questions throughout the travel process. As an Emerald member with the oneworld alliance, I have always received complimentary seat selection on partner airlines. Unfortunately, this Southwest Airlines experience fell short of expectations. I paid an extra **$140** for seats that appeared to offer a better arrangement during the booking process. However, after my wife and I boarded the aircraft, we realized the seating layout differed from what had been displayed at purchase. Paying additional fees only to encounter an uncomfortable seating situation was disappointing. My assigned seat, **6K**, lacked adequate cushioning, making the journey more uncomfortable than expected. I relied on extra pillows and blankets for lower back support throughout much of the flight. On longer trips, seat comfort can make a significant difference in the overall passenger experience. The customer service process proved equally frustrating. I first contacted an agent in Detroit seeking clarification regarding my flight details and aircraft information. I was then transferred to another department, believed to be located in Chicago, where I was informed they could not assist and was given yet another number to call. That representative ultimately redirected me back to the original Detroit contact. Only after several calls and repeated explanations did an agent finally provide the information I had requested from the start. After boarding, I found the aircraft itself attractive and well-maintained, and most of the flight attendants appeared hardworking and professional despite managing a busy cabin. However, the overall environment deteriorated as the flight progressed. A number of passengers were noisy and inconsiderate, and the lavatories became increasingly untidy within a few hours, with wet floors and sinks requiring attention. Although the cabin crew deserved recognition for their efforts and professionalism, the inconsistent customer service, uncomfortable seating experience, and declining cleanliness ultimately overshadowed the positives. Based on this experience, I would strongly compare alternatives before booking Southwest Airlines for a similar trip in the Future. read more

Dear Lufthansa Team, I am writing to you with deep disappointment and frustration regarding my recent experience as a passenger of your airline. It is imperative that I convey my utter displeasure and make you fully aware of the extent of my dissatisfaction. Let me start by pointing out the absolute lack of respect and consideration towards your customers when it comes to your customer service. Waiting for endless hours to receive a response, only to be greeted by apathetic and incompetent staff, is simply unacceptable. Your telephone line seems to be nothing but a façade, as I never managed to obtain a satisfactory solution to my issues. Furthermore, it is outrageous that your refund policy is nothing short of a mockery to passengers. How dare you withhold a portion of the money that rightfully belongs to us when you are the ones responsible for flight changes? Your lack of transparency and your miserly approach instead of guaranteeing a full refund demonstrate a complete lack of business ethics. As if that weren't enough, I am deeply frustrated by the lack of direct and professional communication with your representatives. A call center in India? Do you honestly believe that is sufficient to provide quality service? As a passenger, I expected personalized treatment and proper attention from the airline, not to be treated as just another number in your deficient customer service system. I demand that you take these complaints seriously and take immediate steps to improve your customer service. As a renowned airline, you should be ashamed of how you treat your customers. Review your policies, train your staff, and provide swift and fair solutions to the issues that arise during flights. As a consumer, I have the right to expect quality service and a satisfactory experience. If Lufthansa cannot meet these basic expectations, then it does not deserve the loyalty of passengers. I am determined to share my negative experience with fellow travelers on any available platform to warn them about the hardships they will face if they choose to fly with your airline. I sincerely hope that you take my concerns seriously and work diligently to rectify these severe deficiencies in your service. Customer satisfaction should be your number one priority, and until you demonstrate genuine change, I will vehemently refuse to consider Lufthansa as a viable option for future travel. Yours sincerely, Freddy N read more

Extremely Disappointing Customer Service Experience I had an unfortunate encounter with Lufthansa's customer service, which significantly marred my overall experience. I want to highlight that this review pertains specifically to their call center and counter customer service, not their in-flight service. Here's the sequence of events that transpired: 1. Failed Online Booking: When attempting to purchase two tickets on their website, the site froze upon clicking "purchase." No success page was displayed. 2. Immediate Contact: In response, I promptly called the airline to clarify the situation. They assured me that no flights had been booked. 3. Successful Booking on Expedia: To secure our travel, we successfully purchased the tickets through Expedia. 4. Unexpected Charge: Shockingly, a week later, an unexplained charge of $3500 appeared on our credit card from the initial unsuccessful Lufthansa booking. 5. Unhelpful Customer Service: Contacting Lufthansa, I was informed that it was too late to cancel the flight. Despite our numerous attempts to resolve the issue, the customer service representatives seemed uninterested in assisting, consistently deflecting responsibility. 6. Disputed Charge: We sought resolution through Amex, but our efforts were futile due to a lack of proof for the original call. 7. Airport Frustration: Upon arrival at the airport, we encountered further frustration. Lufthansa's representatives continued evading responsibility, resulting in wasted time and no resolution. 8. Traveling with Extra Seats: Ultimately, my wife and I were left traveling with four seats, a predicament that was entirely avoidable. In retrospect, it is evident that Lufthansa's customer service approach is deeply flawed. Their apparent lack of concern for the considerable inconvenience and financial burden placed on customers raises serious questions about their commitment to providing satisfactory service. Regrettably, this ordeal has left an indelible mark on our perception of Lufthansa. We unequivocally will not consider flying with them again in the future. Disheartened and Disillusioned, Luke B. read more
