I have never taken the time to write a negative review, but this experience was too frustrating not to share. Over the past week I tried repeatedly to contact Bark and Bubbles to confirm the cost of my Dad's 1 yr old puppy's bath scheduled for tomorrow. I called three times, sent seven text messages, and emailed twice. I received no response until today -- a full week later. When someone finally called me back, I was told that because the puppy had been a bit matted during his last visit, his bath would now be $75 and possibly higher depending on what they find tomorrow. This was surprising because their website clearly lists baths at $50 - This is NOT a grooming. I would have been ambushed with a higher price at pickup. For context, his condition during his first visit was because he had just been rescued after being abandoned in the desert as a puppy. Since then he has been very well cared for and maintained, so using that first visit as justification for a higher base price doesn't seem reasonable especially when not discussed. What was most disappointing, however, was the lack of communication. It should not take a week and multiple calls, texts, and emails just to get a simple price confirmation. I also had difficulty getting responses during his first appointment and had hoped that was just a one-time issue. Additionally, they ignored the specific requests on his first haircut. I had actually referred more than 20 people to Bark and Bubbles since we first met because I wanted to support this neighborhood business. Brought my mini Aussie (not so mini) in for grooming and they did a fantastic job, he looked great and they clearly took their time with him. The only reason I'm not giving 5 stars is the pricing wasn't as transparent as I'd hoped. When I booked over the phone, the quote was about $20 less. I love coming to this groomer, as do my dogs!! They always take such good care of them, and trim my bichon so beautifully every time! My chocolate lab comes home smelling so nice with freshly clipped nails too. They put so much love and care into my pups, it does not go unnoticed! They're also able to get us in within a week or so every time! So grateful for such a wonderful groomer so close to our home! Having been a customer for a couple of years, I no longer am. There are 2 primary reasons: 1. The owner clearly has a problem with turnover of employees, as everytime my pup and I were there, a different person was the greeter, and more importantly, there was a different groomer each time, so no continuity. Each time I had to go through the same drill of what I wanted for my pup, and sometimes in the same detail as I had done in the past. 2. Our last visit, as I saw my bill, I asked "have your raised your prices"? as my charge had increased. Answer was, no, but we now have a surcharge for senior dogs. OUCH. Was this the owner telling me that, no, was another new clerk, as owner NIcole not present, as is often the case. Was I told this-no, I had to see it on my charge. So, in my opinion, that was totally disingenuous to say the least, why not tell me in advance. Believe me, the surcharge did not change my lifestyle, but I found this to be less than forthcoming. My new groomer is at 92nd and Via Linda, totally transparent, took quite a bit of time to get to know us, what we wanted, and were very diligent and caring. I highly recommend Splash and Dash, Rachel and Michael care! read more

The owner is always beyond kind! I love their monthly treats! This month was a digestive food snack that my two pups are now obsessed with! Last month was a small treat! Every once in a while you meet a human who goes out of their way to help another person with no expectation of personal reward. The owner of barks and bubbles is one such lady. My bf was out of town and I was watching his dog. She had a stroke the week before and seemed recovered but in caution someone was staying close and he had to go to Tucson. Before he left he gave the dog a round bone. The dog got the bone over her lower canines and it was firmly stuck on her lower jaw. She was so freaked out there was no way for us to get it off without taking out her teeth. Fortunately a friend had stopped by and I was able to get help me get her into the car, we headed for the vet. and barks and bubbles is next door. I got out with the dog while my friend ran into Vet and the owner of barks and bubbles saw me struggling by with a very stressed out Pit bull - she was frantic. I knew she was going to poo soon (that's what she does ) so O was standing in a patch of grass outside her store. . The owner of the store came out and without a second thought picked her up and helped me into the vet. And yep she poo-Ed all over her. She didn't make me feel badly she was just happy to help she was scratched up and got messed on. She was kind and helpful. In a world of self-absorbed humans this lady really did a great service to me and my family. Thank you! I would trust her implicitly with my canine family members! Dogs get stressed but you can bet this compassionate woman will take good care of your canine family. read more

I am glad that others have had a positive experience here. Mine was not the case. I had high hopes for my dog to be groomed here. My dog had some difficulties and Sue , the groomer, who was very kind and accommodating suggested we reschedule to a time when she had more help. We did that. My husband had to take her to the new appointment, as I had been called for jury duty. Sue had called in sick, so another groomer took over. My husband made sure they had his phone number because he would be the one to communicate with. He waited and waited to be called for pickup and never received a call or text, so he just went over to the business. . They said they texted his wife. As I said I was on jury duty and couldn't be reached!! So much for that. Ok, so that wasn't that bad. But when I came home and saw how she looked I was shocked. They cut her so short everywhere that she didn't look like the same dog. Sue had told us a few days before that she had some matting on her chest. She never said that they would have to shave her or cut her so short! I was not happy. When I finally spoke to the owner, she said that my husband never indicated he wanted to be called about how they might groom her. Should he really have to? When you are taking a fluffy dog down to almost nothing, shouldn't you inform the owner and let them decide if they want this? In this case how could they reach him,when they never passed his phone number on. On another note, I found it difficult to get in touch with them to make an appointment or just speak to them. You have to leave a message and it takes a day or two for them to return the call. read more

The first time we took our dog, LuvBug, to Bark and Bubbles, they barely trimmed her. The second time I supplied a picture and spoke to the groomer and was specific about how I wanted my LuvBug groomed. She came home scalped. All the hair around her face was cut so short that her beautiful sweet face resembled a trimmed rat. I provided feedback about my disappointment. The owner said she would call me to discuss but never did. I don't recommend this business. They don't listen. If I could give a negative star review I would. So disappointing. I love this place for my dog!!! And my dog loves it. He's a golden doodle. We come every 3 weeks for alternating trim and bath. He also will run on the treadmill. The owner is so sweet and the staff is incredibly friendly. You can tell they love what they do!!! And the little shopping area in front is so cute. I'm so glad I took my dogs to this grooming spa. Our usual dog groomer retired and I was referred to bark and bubbles by some family friends. I have a senior dog and a puppy. We were greeted by our amazing groomer Justin who really took time to listen to what I wanted for the dogs. When I went to pick them up the dogs were extremely happy and seemed super comfortable with the groomers. Which was a huge relief since they're both anxious dogs. I took both of my French Bulldogs to Bark and Bubbles for a full grooming. The woman at the front desk was very friendly and reassuring. My puppies were a little anxious since this was our first time here. Keira was wonderful. She was kind and patient and explained everything she did to help get their nails filed down so that they were happy and safe. The owner was very personable and informative.
