I have lived in Augusta for almost 30 years and never eaten here till to night. The entire evening was wonderful. We were greeted at the door by the owner and ushered right away to a table. The server was over right away to take orders. The food came out fast hot and delicious. It was some of the best food I've had in a long time. The entire wait staff nice and attentive. The restaurant had an old world charm, including a jukebox that plays 45s. I strongly recommend this this restaurant. Save room for dessert! The tiramisu is to die for! Had dinner there on a Friday night when visiting augusta. Not sure what all the hype is about. The service was poor, the server knew nothing about Italian food, when I asked if they had a pasta carbonara or anything with gorgonzola she had no idea what I was talking about. I will not be back. Just moved here from iowa via Chicago and ive had my fair share of Italian. I would not consider this food Italian. 2/3 of the menu consists of spaghetti and meat sauce. I had a meat and egg plant dish that i didn't finish and i always finish my food. My gf had ravioli and meat sauce that was prob frozen a then fryed. A friend had fettuccine Alfredo and it was cold and over cooked. The bill was 55 for three people. I would not recommend this place. And it was a Saturday service was below par. Im sad this was the first place i experienced in augusta. I hope you have better fair my sweet augusta. read more

We are in Augusta because of the hurricane hitting Myrtle beach.Originally from NY and Italian, we have dined in the most famous restaurants in New York city. My husband had the spaghetti and meatballs. It was by far the worst we've ever had. Tomatoe sauce was terrible and the pasta was also. My eggplant parm besides the sauce again being awful it would have been ok but the eggplant was still hard,not cooked enough. The pizza and the crust and sauce were worse then frozen pizza.Surprised they had people dining there. My only thoughts are that any repeat customers have never experienced good Italian food and i feel sorry that they think that's authentic, and missing the real wonderful flavors of Italian cuisine. read more

Having traveled and enjoyed Greek and Italian cuisine, I must say Luigi's rates outstanding. I love the old-world, warm, family atmosphere. The food is outstanding ... their Greek Chicken surpasses all other I've had. You can't beat the friendly service. And the price is more than reasonable. We eat at Luigi's at least once a week. I love stepping back in time the minute you walk in the door. The lovely music from the old juke box adds a nice touch to the atmosphere. A few of my favorite dishes are the Greek chicken, eggplant Parmesan, any pizza, baked spaghetti topped with their own homemade sausage and ice cream with baklava topping. I love their greek salads or regular salad with homemade dressings. We see so many familiar faces each week. One of my favorite places to eat! read more

This is one of my FAVORITE Augusta restaurants- a family owned, old Italian style small restaurant! My husband and I love it for dates. There are little, quarter operated, old fashioned jukeboxes in each booth- with Frank Sinatra and Tony Bennett music. The ambiance is amazing, but the food is to die for. Whenever I walk in I'm always greeted warmly and seated pretty promptly. Love getting a booth because of the tabletop jukeboxes (be sure to bring quarters). I view my trips to Luigi's as mini-getaways because I feel like I'm stepping back in time. My parents went to Luigi's on their wedding night... so there is definitely a sentimental attachment to the establishment. When it comes to the food you can NEVER go wrong with the pizza. I've ordered the spaghetti and the steak on different occasions and have never been disappointed... and i always leave full and happy. read more

Food is mediocre at best, Service was absolutely unacceptable, server had 2 tables and would disappear for 15 to 20minutes at a time. I waited for a bottled beer for over 15 min until another server came over and asked me what I was drinking, never brought bread to the table until after the meal was delivered. Not once throughout the entire meal asked me how it was, if I was doing ok, satisfied etc..Restaurant has store bought freeze dried kraft style Parmesan in a shaker that sits on the table, no real Parmesan or Romano, pre packaged butter. Do I really need to go on. Outside of the weakly executed atmosphere this place is a bust, don't waste your time or money.. read more

Extremely disappointed. Meatballs where disgusting. Veal Scaloppini was mediocre at best, wayyy too much garlic, and I'm not talking about someone with an aversion to garlic. Greek salad was paltry, one slice of tomato, 1 Greek olive and some iceberg lettuce drenched in oil and vinegar. Look. I get it. It's kitschy, and it would be worth it if the food was marginal. Giving them a four, but it's more of a 3.75. The food was good, but the portions are iffy sized for $15+. And the tables are pretty on top of each other so it's a little bit of a tight fit. As a businessman who travels, the places I prefer to dine at are 'local' spots that are recommended by clients. If I wanted chain outfit food, I can get that at home. Luigi's was one of those recommendations that was spot on. The atmosphere was, well, a time machine but the food was fresh, the wait staff was pleasant and efficient. And, the most important thing is, they serve veal. An Italian restaurant that doesnt serve veal is just an ordinary food joint. Too bad Luigi's is so far from home - it would have been nice to return again this year, with my wife and daughters cause I know they would enjoy the food, the jukebox with the old songs, and the atmosphere. read more

The food was beyond UNremarkable. Stay home and cook your own Italian food. Crackers in baskets on the table? Cafeteria or airline style salads. Entrees were not good. You will spend a lot of money and wonder why. The service was the pits. The server wanted to leave more then we did, pretty sure. Acted like she was put off when we tried to get simple service. Never once did she ask us if we needed anything. Generally a bad disposition. And lucky for us/ 20% was added since we had many guests at the table. I was a server for many years in my youth and always overtipped. First time ever I wanted to tip less then 20%! An utter disaster on every level. Will never go back and wish I spent my $140 anywhere else in town but there. Beware! Cooking a delicious shrimp Fra diavlo at home can be less then $20. Btw they don't even offer such delicious dishes in their menu. It takes basic to a new level. Just plan on really bad spaghetti or alfredo. The kicker- you have to wait in line to pay your check at the cash register. The person checking us out apparently could not receive negative feedback bc she was generally incensed to hear that the food and service were what they were. BAD. Don't waste a penny! read more

It was Sunday and the Master's Golf Tournament was on the tube. My son and his girlfriend were coming over so we decided to order two pizzas, for takeout, from Luigi's. I am a local, so I know how hectic the area gets after the tournament, so I was ordering right after they opened. When the young man who answered the phone informed me the pizzas would be $20 a piece, I know they had marked them up, many restaurants do this during Master's week in Augusta. The difference being, if you inform the restaurant and prove it that you are a local, most restaurants honor original pricing, but not Luigi's. I asked the young man to speak with the owner and inform him that I am a local, but he still was going to charge $20 a pizza. When the Master's crowd leaves, it is the local customers keeping places in the area in business. Luigi's lost a long time customer. read more

WOW! Walked back in to time at Luigi's and loved every minute of it. The lasagna with sausage was awesome, and my wife had the baked greek chicken which she really enjoyed. Prices were very reasonable. If we ever pass through Augusta, we will make it a point to stop there again. read more

DO NOT EAT HERE !!! Wife ordered pasta which was just so so. For some strange reason neither salad or bread came with dinner order. We had to pay extra for garlic bread, which had zero garlic on it. I ordered sirloin, which came with green beans and bread, plus a salad. The salad was so so. I ordered well done steak which arrived barely medium rare, the "Italian seasoned green beans" were from a can, and I never received bread. The waiter argued that we had bread, I responded that's the so called garlic bread my wife ordered....I still never received any bread. The owner then argued with me over the canned green beans: "well we cooked those beans", I replied no you actually warmed those canned beans. She then argued "we like to cook steaks less than customers order, then we can re-heat them. WTH? Needless to say I didn't eat here, I went elsewhere. There literally nothing "Italian" about this restaurant, its just a name. I am from NY and have eaten at countless real Italian restaurants, where they make their own bread, sauce, and pasta from scratch. They don't serve food from a can! They don't argue relentlessly with their customers. read more
