    House salad with house dressing.

I've driven by this place many times but never thought about dining here, as the building is an old Pizza Hut and doesn't look very attractive. But today I decided to stop into Luigi's Italian Grill and give it a try. The interior decor is perhaps even more garish than the outside, with plastic vines and fake grapes adorning the entire ceiling in an unsuccessful attempt to create a pergola-like atmosphere. Despite the cheesy atmospherics, the service was excellent, the wait staff attentive, and the manager made his rounds to greet all patrons and ensured everyone was satisfied. I ordered the lasagna which came with a house salad. Rolls are complementary and they serve Pepsi products here. The Italian style here is heavily tomato-based but it is done right, with the flavors well balanced. The house dressing on the salad is also tomato-based with a nice zest to it. The lasagna came out hot and has a good balance between the sauce, cheese, and meat. I ordered the tiramisu for dessert which is excellent. The prices are very reasonable here. Overall, the adage "you can't judge a book by it's cover" really applies to Luigi's Italian Grill! The excellent food and service really atones for the decor, and I will likely return!

My family came to Orange so my daughter could take a dance class. When she was done we were starving and Italian was on the menu. There were a couple of restaurants to chose from, but Luigi's has the best reviews (4.5 stars) when we looked. We were greeted and seated immediately. Our server was very nice and attentive throughout the service. Our girls shared fried cheese and cheese pizza (of course), while my husband and I shared a Fettuccine Alfredo and Spinach Alfredo pizza. All of the food came out piping hot, which is how I think food should be served. The girls loved the fried cheese and cheese pizza. My oldest raved about it saying, "This is the best cheese pizza!" The Spinach Alfredo Pizza was amazing. I can't think of a pizza I've had recently that was this good, and we eat pizza regularly. The Fettuccine Alfredo was only ok, it was my least favorite item we ordered. It was really under seasoned when it was served, and regardless of how much Parmesan we out on it it remained under seasoned. We also got complimentary rolls, which were also very good. Since we had a long drive home a visit to the restroom was in order. They keep the restrooms very clean, cleaner than a lot of places, so there's a plus. The hall leading to the restroom was very hot, several degrees warmer than the rest of the restaurant. The pizza alone is reason to visit Luigi's. We don't come this way often, but I'm sure the next time we're in the area we'll stop by here for some pizza. I highly recommend anyone passing through Orange stop here for the pizza!

What a pleasure to meet great people who love what they do. Fully customizable dinner. European management and staff did everything they could to make me feel at home. Gluten-free seafood pasta with added vegetables was delicious. I highly recommend this restaurant. The people and the cuisine rival some of Houston's better restaurants. I look forward to dining here again during our upcoming construction projects upgrading Texas ranches to near military base resiliency preparing for repeat hurricanes and floods.

It is the best pizza I have had in Orange. I ordered ahead and it was hot and ready when I arrived. It was very authentic.

We gave it a shot when we first moved from the NASA area four years ago, so it was about time. I loved the fact they were open on Memorial Day, and they didn't seem to be too busy. Mostly golfers and their ilk. Our server was Kaitlyn, who was very fast. She reminded me of Mary Lou Retton. Very fast. Almost too fast? I asked a question about the amount of breading in the crab cake, and she said there was none. Seems unlikely, since crab cakes need a binder. I am intolerant of the gluten, so when she said the crab cakes had no binder, I was hesitant. I took the safe road and ordered the cucumber snacker and a boudin ball. My BF ordered a ribeye, and (because he thought he was super hungry), ordered chips and salsa as a starter. Kaitlyn brought out my wine and our chips and salsa straight away. The chips were very stale, the salsa was tasty but a little spicy for my taste. Everything arrived at our table at the same time, even though I ordered two apps as my meal. Kudos to Kaitlyn. The cucumbers were good, especially with the jalapeño ranch. No one can mess up a cucumber, but the jalapeño ranch was tasty. My boudin ball was meh. My BF ordered his ribeye medium temperature, and it arrived rare. Kaitlyn checked in on us a couple of minutes after the food arrived. He told her about the steak and she quickly whisked it away. ~5 minutes later, someone delivered the new steak. My BF enjoyed the new steak, baked potato and salad. When we visited four years ago, we felt rushed. I felt rushed this time as well. Obviously, Tia Juanita's is doing very well. You can't swing a rope without seeing another TJ's in SETX. It's probably just not our jam. I like a nice meal without feeling rushed. I also prefer to eat with a proper fork and knife. I would, however, like for the manager to respectfully respond to negative reviews. They seem to respond to positive reviews only.

This location is quite consistent with the others I have been to: salt and pepper wings are their specialty and Coca Cola fountain drinks but Pepsi is available in bottles. I ordered six wings and six shrimp and the taste is what I have come to expect from this chain. French fries are the crinkle-cut type, and nothing out of the ordinary. Parking is very generous, as this restaurant is located in a more remote corner of a large strip mall. The dining area is clean, with WiFi available--although it is only limited to 30 minutes if you are not a customer with the local cable companies. I arrived during lunchtime, and there was a soap opera on the TV. There was a sizeable number of homemaker-types having lunch there that day, watching the show. The person behind the counter appears bored, disinterested, and didn't interact with the customers except to take orders and announce them when they're ready.

So, here's the deal. They have great seafood. It really is tasty. And I love their tartar sauce…read more But I've never been to a restaurant that tries so hard to make you feel unwelcome. The restaurant itself feels empty. The cashier obviously didn't want to be there. They had some Adult Swim cartoon on the TV with very mature themes (glad we didn't bring the kids). The napkin holders and the salt and pepper shakers at the table were empty. The trash cans were full. This is the first time we've been, since previous times we thought they were closed when they were actually open because they never took the chairs off the tables. So there really isn't much that is inviting about the place. Here's my suggestion... Invest in a little training for the staff. Pick more family friendly entertainment if you're going to have the TV on. Have someone clean up the dining area on a regular basis. And for goodness sake, smile a little. I'd really like to see J&J succeed in Orange. There aren't many good places for fried seafood.
