We ordered a take home lasagna, it tasted ok, but it was wimpy. The thinnest lasagna I've ever seen. We will not be back.

Normally, I wouldn't give such a high rating as I am not the most enthusiastic supporter of their menu. However, the young woman who served me acted with kindness and listened to my every word when I explained what I would like. It was a serious thing in my opinion. I essentially asked for portion control since the portions are enough for three to four people in just one order. Since I'd been seriously ill and hadn't been able to eat substantially for a few days due to my breathing, I asked for the angel hair pasta with olive oil, lots of garlic, red & green bell peppers, artichokes, sun dried tomatoes and fresh basil; I needed to eat light but with calories. I cupped my hands together to illustrate what a reasonable portion would be for me; I also do not like wasting food and wasn't able to take leftovers at the moment. The server communicated my order to the chef, and it was executed to the best of their ability. It came out just right. That meant a lot. What a lovely meal; not a fan of the iceberg lettuce salad though. I do realize what I ordered wasn't on the menu and am most appreciative of the manner in which I was treated and attended to. Terrific Italian food from classic pizzas to chicken parmigiana and shrimp pastas. A little heavy on the marinara sauce in some dishes so I just ask for light sauce and they make it perfect. Chicken Napoli and the chicken Picatta are my favs here. Good mix of chicken, lemon sauce and capers, and artichokes in the Chicken Napoli. Pizzas aren't over the top in style or anything; just good, classic pies that they've got right. Not too thin, not thick and overtaking. The best surprise is the garlic bread and herbs-and- oil dipping sauce. I mean - that is something even my kids are crazy for. It's better than Carrabba's bread and olive oil dipping appetizer. The phone ordering is a little hit and miss; sometimes a bit gruff on the phone with one in particular but that's all. Customer service was great! We were seated immediately and the waitress was very kind and answered our questions about the menu. There are unlimited warm rolls served first. It was good, but the butter served with them was frozen. The food we ordered was lasagna with light cheese and the chicken & shrimp penne pasta special. The lasagna was okay, but still had a lot of cheese, even with our request. The pasta was not coated well with sauce, the chicken was not marinated, the shrimp were great. Both dishes were hot, but very, very bland in flavors. Overall, I think this restaurant is average for taste and price. read more

I can image how they do for dinner. The sauce they make is killer. I'm attempting to duplicate it at home. It's that good. I'm willing to bet the pizza is kickin as well as the test of the menu. The food is excellent and service is great. The new location is so open and inviting.

The reason I decided to dine here was because of the positive yelp reviews and because it was highly regarded by several acquaintances. Sadly I was unimpressed with the quality of food as well as the overall atmosphere. The dining area was small, cluttered, and until the air conditioner turned on, the entire area felt warm and stagnant. The overall cleanliness was questionable. Nevertheless, I remained optimistic about my upcoming dining experience. I ordered the fried calamari as an appetizer and the Shrimp Alfredo dish as the main course. My guest ordered the broccoli chicken plate. These dishes came with a salad and dinner rolls. The dinner rolls were mediocre, although they had faint hint of garlic flavor. The Caesar salads were unimpressive. I could tell the lettuce had been frozen before and therefore the leaves were soggy and tasteless. Then the entire salad was doused in Caesar dressing and covered in mozzarella cheese. Unappealing to say the least. The fried calamari came in an impressive portion. And the marinara sauce was warm and tangy. It was decent. The only problem here was that the calamari was overcooked and tough. Finally the main dish was served. The Shrimp Alfredo was drenched and swimming in alfredo. This is sad because the dish would've been decent had it not been LITERALLY swimming in sauce. The same problem was observed in my guests dish. Too much alfredo. The whole dish was just a mess. It was like eating an alfredo soup. The flavor was okay but in my opinion, it was not worth the $14 I spent on it. I came to Napolis with high hopes, but left disappointed. For some reason the locals enjoy paying high price for subpar quality. Needless to say I will not be returning anytime soon. read more

Like a lighthouse to a ship caught in a storm...Napoli's was a beacon of light to a hungry traveler.. Napoi's is a locally owned (yeay!) Italian restaurant. It offers homemade Italian dishes with pricetags that will melt your heart. I ordered the Spaghetti Carbornara and my coworker had the Chicken Marsala. After a long day of driving and work...we couldn't wait to feast upon homemade Italian cuisine. We were not disappointed. For an appetizer we had the calamari. I'm not a huge calamari fan, but I did like Napoli's version. The calamari batter tasted fresh and was not over cooked. I'm no expert on this mind you, I might have calamari three times in my life. Fresh marinara accompanied the calamari for dipping. Fresh pasta coupled with fresh sauce was delivered to us within in minutes. The carbonara was divine! I love, love LOVE black olives..and this dish is loaded with them. The canadian bacon was cooked just right (i hate mushy canadian bacon)- with just a tad bit of crisp to it. The wine sauce was not too strong and complimented the pasta and veggies excellently. I'm not sure when I'll pass through Lumberton again, but...if and when i do, you can bet I'll be stopping by Napoli's for dinner. read more

Food is so, so. Always has been. Beware to anyone venturing into their bathroom though. Was there this afternoon with family and my aunt slipped on their (never not slippery) bathroom floor and broke her leg. Thank you to the waitress who called 911! But the manager didn't seem too bothered, and didn't even offer to comp the meal they hadn't even gotten yet. Needless to say, we won't be returning. I'm told that they've had many complaints about the slippery floor and have never done anything about it. I hope that now they will so no one else has to go through this! I have eaten or picked up food from here multiple times, and they have really good wine, service, and food! The spaghetti, baked ziti, veal, and moscato are some of the best I have ever tasted! She wasn't lying when she told us that this was the best italian restaurant in the Beaumont area. It was nice to go to a locally owned italian restaurant instead of another chain. We ventured a few miles outside of Beaumont for something different and new to us, and this place helped to fulfill that mission. Our server was very friendly, but not too overbearing like some servers tend to be. She made sure that we always had a full beverage and that our food came out in record time! From the outside, the restaurant looks like it's really dark and has sort of an intimate, romantic vibe. This isn't the case once you get inside, but that's okay because, when you think about it, it's a locally owned restaurant in a very small town and you can't expect them to go overboard with decor. It's very casual and that's fine. The restaurant is very well-lit and there are no lit candles on the tables. If you are looking for ambience, you need to look elsewhere. The patrons seem to be regulars and many of them know one another. I found that aspect of it to be very quaint and charming. All of the food items we ordered were good; mozzarella sticks, oven baked ravioli, and fettucini alfredo. In my experience, I've found that the fettucini alfredo entrees served by most small, locally owned italian places tend to be kind of bland. I wouldn't say that Napoli's dish was especially tasty, but it was better than Gino's and New York Pizza & Pasta's versions. They did not skimp on sauce! I almost couldn't find the noodles within the sea of alfredo. My only real complaint was that the manager or owner at the front was not very friendly. I hope, for the sake of this business' future, that he was just having a really bad night. He seemed to be nice and speak to the patrons that he knew, but he didn't even crack a smile for us. I have eaten here twice while in Lumberton. It doesn't look like much (reminds me somewhat of a 70's era place in looks, nothing fancy) but the food is excellent and the servers are friendly and generally fast. The first time I ate there - plenty of bread and I got alfredo sauce to dip it in. Delicious. It was so good, the next time I was in town visiting family, I asked my grandmother if she wanted something and got take-out. We all enjoyed the food and had MORE than enough. Never had a problem with this place till today. Went after church with my family for lunch to celebrate my mother in law's birthday. My great aunt went to the restroom to wash her hands and slipped on their slick floor and broke her ankle! The owner and wait staff didn't even seem concerned about the event. Just came to the table asking if someone from our table was in the restroom cause they think she broke her leg and they called the ambulance. After the ambulance came and took our aunt out, they still charged us our full ticket price!!!! Will NEVER go back!!! read more

As soon as we moved to Lumberton, my wife and I had to try this place. It was very disappointing. They had the items that we love, but the preparation was poor. My wife ordered a calzone and the breading was extremely hard and chewy. The chewy you see when you heat up old pizza in a microwave. I ordered an Alfredo dish that came swimming in a bowl full of very watery Alfredo. One of the kids begged for pizza for lunch. Pizza hut has no gluten free items on menu and I will never go back to the brick oven. So....we decided to go to Napoli's, even though we went a year ago and it was horrible. Maybe it was an off day. We park and go to the door and there is a help wanted sign posted. This sign was up last year when we visited also. The manager owners seats us and walks off. Talk about lack of courtesy. Our waitress quickly comes over. Drinks: I inquire about the sweet tea, if it is made by them. "Yes". I ask with syrup and sugar. "Fake sugar". I asked if she meant sweet-n-low or splenda. She said no it was like sugar but not sugar.... I ordered water. Wife got unsweet tea. Atmosphere: Old and dirty. We sat at a booth and I was immediately accosted by swarms of gnats. I was shooing them at first, then trying to killing them by clapping etc... the manager was watching the whole time and couldn't care less. The pizza: We got a 18" pizza. It did come out faster than I expected. It was decent portion size also. However, it was soaked in oil. Trying to pick a slice up and completely falls apart due to it being so wet. Overall it was a poor tasting pizza. The pineapples were fresh out of a can, not even cooked on it. The mushroom were also out of the can, but fortunately they were added before the pizza was partially cooked. As I ate a piece I wished I had gone to Domino's instead. Salad: Wife got a "salad" with her meal. It was fresh out of a bag you get at HEB. They did kindly add one small tomato slice and one cucumber slice. The chicken Napoli: When this was brought out, I asked my wife is she ordered soup. "No". It was their chicken Napoli. My goodness it was drowned in some brownish sauce so high it was over the food. Digging the chicken out you could see it was sliced in a meat slicer (very thin). Chicken was bland and no taste. Think slicking raw chicken thin and boiling it, then eating it. The sauce was all lemon flavor. My wife ate 2-3 bites and stopped. The waitress took it back. No one at anytime asked if it was okay, what was wrong.... They simply did not care. My wife commented this was one of, if not the worst meal she has ever eaten. Checkout: Waitress brought our ticket but it had no prices on it. We were told to go to counter to pay. How do I know what to leave for a tip at the table?? I left several bucks and left it at that. I get to the cashier/manager whoever and he take the ticket. He VERY lowly mumbles something like "okay". I am swapping gnats there as he is talking and I just reply "Yeah...." He knew it was not okay. He is looking at the ticket and pulling prices either from his head or thin air. I go with the latter as the final price he came up with was about $2 dollars more than it was supposed to be. I didn't argue, as I just wanted out of this place. I should have known better than to give this place another chance so I take part of the blame. How can a town like Lumberton not have a GOOD restaurant? I do not mean average or okay but a nice family restaurant with good food, service and fair prices? read more

We came for pizza after a weekend of camping at Village Creek State Park. We ordered a cheese pizza for the kids and a supreme for us - no Canadian bacon, no olives. The cheese pizza came out in a reasonable amount of time. Our pizza took twice as long and looked a bit of a mess. There were some olive pieces in it and a couple of Canadian bacon pieces. I almost wonder if they picked out the pieces they could see and left the rest. There was no recognition of their mistake or the extra time it took other than a simple sorry from the waitress. There was no offer of compensation. I guess we should have gone for Mexican or travelled further down the road before stopping for lunch. read more

Yep. This place is pretty great for it's location. The owner is a little gruff. Liked the earlier comment that he's in the mob. Pasta Arriabata was really spicy and overpowered the dish. Penne with Vodka sauce was rich and not too creamy. Order the olive oil dipping sauce. The ambiance is pretty lame but it is always fun to see wine bottles hang from the ceiling as decor. Visit Village Creek State Park for a swim and work up an appetite while you are in the area. It's just 5min down the road. They have a great cabin for rent too. read more

This is my favorite Italian restaurant. It is so good! After discovering this little hidden gem, no other Italian place is worth going too. I just compare the food to napolis.
