    Carnitas quesadilla
    Rich R.

The restaurant staff served us their house made flour chips and salsa (mild and medium) to start. We ordered huarache, quesadilla, and pollo ala crema. The Huarache has a corn base crust topped with carne asada, beans, nopales, green salsa and cheese. My daughter had the quesadilla and was pleasantly impressed at its giant size! My son had the pollo ala crema with a side of rice. The chicken strips were seasoned and caramelized before adding the cream sauce. The cream sauce was so rich, thick, and delicious. He can't stop talking about this dish. Everything we ordered were yummy and the service was fast and friendly. The restaurant interior was festive and authentic.

Visiting for a few days and decided to try this place since it was down the street from our hotel. Walked in and it was so colorful and lively. You could seat yourself and they come and bring chips and two salsas. One is mild and the other a little more spicier. We got the margarita flight and it comes with four good sized sampler margaritas. They chose the three and we got to pick the last. It came with Jamaica, Tamarind, and Guava. We chose the pineapple as the last. We got the dinner plates that come with soup. They were small but fully loaded. We got the albondigas and pozole. Both were very good and the pozole had a good spicy kick to it. The plates of food were big and all very flavorful and hot. The carne asada maybe needed a little bit more seasoning and the chile verde needed a little bit more spice but overall the food was very good. We got flour tortillas and they were huge and enough to finish the plate.

4 Little Tacos with asada and carnitas

I came with a very large group for a birthday party. The space is quite spacious and is able to accommodate large parties. The interior is very festive and uplifting. The service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the four little tacos with asada and carnitas - they were delicious! I didn't think I'd be able to finish all four, but they were so flavorful that I couldn't help myself! I also had sips of my friend's skinny margarita which was delicious - I almost considered getting one for myself. Overall, I had a great experience with the service and the delicious food and drink - I'll definitely return for more!

Margarita flight was great as always. Awesome service. Food was great. We will be back.

Everything we had was fresh and delicious, and portions were generous. It tasted and looked homemade. The homemade tortillas were so good. We arrived just before closing and still received great service. We could hardly wait to have our leftovers the next morning for breakfast with an egg on top!

Service is great! Salvador & Christina are amazing servers! I always get their Al pastor fries, they are so good.

Quesa Birria. Not on the menu but on special sometimes. So frikin good.

This place is great. They also have killer cheeseburgers shockingly. And chicken chicken & waffles! And if quesa birria is on the special board... It's a no-brainer.

Fantastic!! Loved the food. So good. Table chips obviously house made and the salsa was flavorful and definitely not the bland tomato onion blend we see around here all too much. Server was great answering my questions about the regional recipes on the menu. Definitely coming back to experience the variety and uniqueness.

Delicious Homemade Mexican Food--The Perfect Post-Hike Meal!…read more We came here for dinner after a long day of hiking in the redwoods and were so glad we did, as the food was incredibly tasty and satisfying. Oaxaca Grill is a wonderful, family-run restaurant in downtown Eureka, operated by the parents, Carmen and Tony, and their daughter, Yuri. Carmen is the main chef, and you can truly taste the care she puts into making amazing homemade Mexican food. The ambiance is casual and cozy. We were traveling as two families and easily found tables on a Tuesday evening for an early dinner. The main dishes completely hit the spot: * Garlicky Soft Prawn Tacos: My wife ordered these, which were served with sautéed onions, fresh garlic, and the most amazing, flavorful mango salsa on the side. * Spicy Oaxaca Chicken Mole: I got this special dish, which featured a tender chicken breast topped with authentic, spicy Oaxacan mole. This mole is savory, rich, and incredibly flavorful, made from thirty imported Oaxacan ingredients. It came served with yummy rice and beans. * Prawn Soft Tacos: We also ordered these, and they were fantastic, paired with a crisp jicama coleslaw. * Kids' Dishes: Our children ordered from the children's plate options. My son got the chicken enchiladas, which came with fries and beans, and he absolutely loved it. My daughter had the cheese and bean burrito, which she really enjoyed as well. * Desserts: To wrap up the meal, we tried the coconut flan and the crème brûlée. Both were a sweet end to the night, and the crème brûlée in particular was absolutely amazing. Overall, it was a fantastic, comforting dining experience with wonderful hospitality. If you are in downtown Eureka, this family-run spot is highly recommended!

I'm still all about the chile relleno burrito so the last time we went I ordered one with carne asada and it was literally the burrito of my dreams. This time when we went inside I noticed a hand written sign above the cash register that said "The Raliberto" which was basically my chile relleno burrito plus carne asada, so I ordered it. I cut it in half, took a picture this time and noticed it wasn't the same, it had cheddar cheese instead of that delicious white cheese the relleno comes with, and I don't think the poblano was battered and fried, it was just a plain pepper that was stuffed with cheese- it was still very tasty just not the burrito of my dreams. I'm thinking since it was a special, they may have run out of the regular rellenos or perhaps they were cutting costs but next time I'll just stick with the regular chile relleno burrito. We also picked up an order of their other special, carne asada rolled tacos, which definitely don't need the added carne asada because guacamole is all them tasty suckers need but we snarfed it all down. I don't know when we'll be driving through again but this is a really solid spot that I'll always think of fondly.

The cheese was great, and I especially loved the sauce. The sauce just brought it all together. There was a little pile of jalapeño, onion, and carrot in the middle. I didn't touch the jalapeño. I tried the carrot and the onion, but they were too spicy for me. Not a big deal. It was a nice lite lunch, and with soda, tax and tip, the price was very reasonable.
