The restaurant staff served us their house made flour chips and salsa (mild and medium) to start. We ordered huarache, quesadilla, and pollo ala crema. The Huarache has a corn base crust topped with carne asada, beans, nopales, green salsa and cheese. My daughter had the quesadilla and was pleasantly impressed at its giant size! My son had the pollo ala crema with a side of rice. The chicken strips were seasoned and caramelized before adding the cream sauce. The cream sauce was so rich, thick, and delicious. Visiting for a few days and decided to try this place since it was down the street from our hotel. Walked in and it was so colorful and lively. You could seat yourself and they come and bring chips and two salsas. One is mild and the other a little more spicier. We got the margarita flight and it comes with four good sized sampler margaritas. They chose the three and we got to pick the last. It came with Jamaica, Tamarind, and Guava. We chose the pineapple as the last. We got the dinner plates that come with soup. They were small but fully loaded. We got the albondigas and pozole. Both were very good and the pozole had a good spicy kick to it. The plates of food were big and all very flavorful and hot. The carne asada maybe needed a little bit more seasoning and the chile verde needed a little bit more spice but overall the food was very good. I came with a very large group for a birthday party. The space is quite spacious and is able to accommodate large parties. The interior is very festive and uplifting. The service was friendly and attentive. I ordered the four little tacos with asada and carnitas - they were delicious! I didn't think I'd be able to finish all four, but they were so flavorful that I couldn't help myself! I also had sips of my friend's skinny margarita which was delicious - I almost considered getting one for myself. Stopped in recently for work lunch with a buddy. This location has just recently opened. Traditional Mexican food, with a lot of Mexico City influence on the menu. Our server was also our greeter and the hostess it appeared she was the only person front of the house. The place was busy but she managed to make sure we were taken care of along with everyone else the day of my visit. The menu is pretty standard mexican, I went for the Torta (Pambroza) a traditional grilled mexican "sandwich" the protion was very good sized and the torta itself very flavorful and good. With Chicken and loaded with contija. The fresh made tortilla chips and salsas were both good and the salsa spicy again good. Only good thing about this restaurant is that their staff is very nice. The decor is attractive Day of the Dead style. Should've known the food wouldn't be good when I saw who was eating there. I was traveling through town so relied on Yelp to find a Mexican restaurant in Eureka because that's what I was hungry for. The 1st place I stopped at was Esmerelda's, but it was take out only. We stopped on for a very fast dinner before Sabbath started. They were prompt and allowed me to handle the bill when we got our food. I appreciated that they were considerate of our schedule. Our server teased my husband a bit when he found out he doesn't like beans. It was a fun little banter and much needed after a long day of driving. I got the fried tacos with potatoes (combination) and my husband got the pollo a la crema. We both commented how they tasted different than ones we had before but were delicious. BEWARE of this restaurant!! Was in town on June 7, 2024 and was served by Salvador. Salvador and another server were very friendly and the food was very good; however, our credit card number was stolen here and used the next day on-line. Do NOT let the server take your card and scan it behind the counter. I'm sure they photographed front and back of card and purchased multiple things the next day. My husband and I are just in town overnight, but I was super hungry, since I hadn't eaten since breakfast, so by 6:30pm I was ready to NOM! Luckily, the hubs agreed to my suggestion about Mexican food, so we ended up here. I mostly devoured the first basket of chips, which are definitely homemade, because they're in strips not triangles, and some were a little chewy in the center (which I liked). The mild and medium salsas came in those syrup dispensers like you see at IHOP, which I thought was far smarter, as I'm usually asking for multiple rounds of salsa to also add to my food. Hubby got the spicy ranchero burrito, and it completely filled the platter! The smoky adobo/chipotle sauce that came on the side was killer and stole the show (not saying hubby licked the bowl, not saying he DIDN'T either lol). I got the shrimp chimichanga combo, with rice and beans. The refried beans are not completely smooth, lots of whole pinto beans still in there for texture, and melted cheese on top. The chimichanga was amazing - perfect crispness and not tiny little bay shrimp but nice juicy plentiful shrimp throughout! I regretted eating the first bowl of chips cuz there was no way to take any to go, but would definitely return if we ever venture this way again!! read more

I had a lot of food. The Pork Tamale with Chile Relleno with beans. I added rice and flour tortilla. I'm telling you, I was having foodgasms. Super fresh tasting and absolutely authentic. I also ordered the street taco with their marinated asada. I was about to explode because I cleared my plates. Then...she convinced me to order the mini chimichangas dessert. First time eating here, me and 5 co workers came here after work Friday. Cute little festive inside restaurant, they do have outside seating also. Our waiter was great and made the experience better. I got a blended mango margarita, so good and just enough alcohol in it, I order a shrimp bowl, rice, guacamole, beans other stuff, so good and had extra to bring home for later. Love the margaritas there and the staff is very nice. I like the enchiladas and Huevos Rancheros.

There are two locations, one in Arcata and one in Eureka. I love them both. While you can get the standard fare of tacos and enchiladas, they have more variety on the menu. It's great being able to try different things. The places are clean and relatively quiet (depending on the number of people there). Their staff is great too. read more
