They were on time abd very thorough. As a realtor we are eager to find trusted sources to do inspections and Luke is now on my list.

These guys talk a great game. Then we got the contract. They'd agreed we could pay by credit card, but the contract said cash only. The price was also different from what was agreed. And the contract said that Luke was not responsible for any damage to our property, no matter how negligent they were, and that we were responsible for any additional costs if their work failed inspection. Oh, and the additional costs would be charged at Luke's cost plus 25% overhead and 10% profit. (Typical cost-plus jobs are cost +10% + 10%). I sent the company my comments to their contract, and they said they don't change their contract, but I should just trust them because they are completely reliable. (This was a $16,000 job.). So I checked their on-line reviews, many of which were awful. Instead, I hired the guy who did our neighbor's house. The price was $10,000, and the contract was fair and reasonable. I told Luke were were not going to use them, to which they replied, "It sounds like you'll be better served by working with another contractor." These people are horrible. read more

In 1996, Luke Roofing installed a new roof which failed during the rainy winter of 2019. The failure was no fault of Luke But what happened in June, 2019, was their fault. I was out of state at our second home and my husband was at work when the crew arrived. Our living/dining area has no dropped ceiling. It was drizzling when they pulled off the old roof, and instantly there was a rain of damp black bits the size of raw sugar. The room is furnished with antiques. The lampshades were ruined, the upholstery spotted, and the top of an art nouveau table was so damaged as to spoil its value. My husband vaccuumed carefully and left the rest for me to see when I returned in October. I photographed the damage and sent copies to Luke Roofing with a written description and an offer to wait until they sent someone to verify my report. That mailing was misread as blaming them for their prior work, so I made my complaint much briefer and re-sent it. That was weeks ago and I have gotten no response. Today I received a response. Ms Luke said they regard the damage as having occurred at a time other than their re-roofing. Seriously? We dribbled brown liquid over our Italian tile floors, silk lampshades and antique furnishings? We scarred our own tables? Here's a lesson in customer service, Luke Roofing. After a 27K roofing job, which is excellent, I would have been happy with a sympathetic phone call and an offer to pay $120 to have the rug cleaned. If you have a problem with Luke Roofing, you may be told that it had to have been your own fault. So I cannot recommend them. We would have hired someone to remove the furniture and rugs from the living/dining area if there had been any communication about the risk of damage from the rain. As it is, I expected Luke to offer some financial assistance with what few replacements and cleanings are necessary. I'm disappointed, and I hope to hear from them. The lack of a dropped ceiling should have been communicated to the crew who should in turn have contacted us. read more

A roof replacement is probably the biggest home improvement project you can bite off unless you are adding rooms. So I didn't take the decision lightly. But Gary Luke and his company made the decision easy. He instilled confidence, his quote was fair, and we didn't fear getting slammed with extra termite damage repairs unless they were absolutely necessary. Caleb Luke was professional and courteous and we felt confident with the major process of tearing off our old roof and having guys all over our roof for four days. By the way the project went like clockwork and was obviously well managed. In on Tuesday morning and out by Friday in time for Easter festivities! These guys truly earned all 5 stars. I hear too many horror stories of calling companies out to check something minor and all of the sudden people are in for thousands of dollars worth of unneeded work. This isn't the case with Luke Roofing. I called Luke roofing out to check what I thought to pretty extensive roof leaks, having noticed various discolorations in my ceiling after a strong rain. As one who knows close to nothing about roofing, he could have come in and told me to replace the whole thing for all I know. Again, this was not the case. The guy they sent out, Caleb Luke, went on top of my roof to check the whole thing for any signs of leaking. He then went up into my dirty attic crawl space to check the bottom of the entire roof. He was very helpful, even willing to teach me a few things about roofing and the reasons for leaks, and I was very happy to receive quick, quality, and honest service. This is a family owned and operated business. I for one love family owned companies since they have more pride in their work. From my roof check, I can tell that they value customer service, trustworthiness, and craftsmanship. I couldn't ask for anything more than that. read more

Now, fast forward to April, 2012, and Luke Roofing is now doing a (large) 26,000 sq. ft. plus commercial project for us on Anaheim's Tile Mile, near State College Blvd. and Ball Rd., Anaheim, CA. They are doing fab work, very nice and cooperative, and very importantly are honest and have integrity, a rarer trait among companies nowadays. After being turned away by a few roofing companies because they were "too busy" to come out and inspect my roof before the dreaded "El Nino" hits Southern California. I was referred by Blue Shoe Roofers to call Luke Roofing , I called, left a message, they returned my call and I was relieved when they scheduled an appointment for someone to come out. Jonathan was out within a few days and gave a fair price for a "roof tune-up" to replace about 20 broken tiles, straighten out some others, clean out the gutters, etc... I put down a deposit for Luke Roofing with salesman, Greg Luke last July 2017. He talked about getting me scheduled in at about two months out. I told him that I WAS NOT ready to go on the schedule, as it could be 6 months out as I was thinking I might do a remodel and add to the house. I decided a few weeks later to remodel part of my house and do the roof at a later time. I communicated that to Greg. Don't do anything... About five months later, I decide to do a remodel.. My contractor and another local Roofing Company give a Much better Price. When I called Greg Luke back for my $1000 deposit back, he claimed he already pulled my permit last year even though I NEVER ASKED HIM TO PULL MY PERMIT!!! He refused to give me any part of my money back even though to pull a permit in Huntington Beach is less then $100, so he made about $900 for DOING ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!!!! We recently remodeled our home and one of my husband's "must have" items was a solar system. I didn't know that much about it, but as I was the one overseeing the remodel, I was forced to get up to speed quickly on it. I interviewed and received estimates from four vendors for a solar system. Gary Luke from Luke Roofing was the only vendor who told me up front that putting heavy solar panels on a flat roof that was 20 years old was a bad idea. When I asked the other vendors why they did not mention this, their answer was "Well, you sign the contract first, and then we send out our roof expert to tell you if you're in trouble or not." Which, of course I was going to be. Then I would have needed to find a roofing company, as most solar vendors do not do roofing. The best advice I can give is that you want a vendor who can do both the roofing and the solar. That way, you get a streamlined project which is managed efficiently by one vendor who will stand behind the entire project. Working with Luke Roofing was so wonderful. They were prompt, responsive, professional and their finished product was excellent quality and visually appealing. They went above and beyond my expectations and performed additional work simply to help me out. Why? Because they are also nice people. Good people. Isn't that who you want working for you? I can say that the hardest part of this project was working with my electricity provider, who clearly is overwhelmed by the amount of customers wanting solar and lacks the resources to deal with it. Keep in mind that this is not a fast, quick process and that it will take some time to accomplish this major project. Be patient. This company is professional, honest, and does things by the book. They did a fabulous job for us when we needed some old solar panels removed. They didn't try to sell us a new roof like every other company did. I would highly recommend them. My only complaint, which isn't really a complaint, is that I had to follow up often on getting a date for the work to be done. I can only suspect it was because our needs weren't as lucrative as doing a new roof even though for us it was a very expensive job. Overall, I'm very glad we chose them. read more

After spending 4 frustrating months dealing with insurance company and bank to settle a disaster claim for part of my roof, Luke was a breath of fresh air. My roof was partially damaged, but it was old so I decided to replace the whole thing. I took bids from several companies and, although Luke was not the absolute low bid, I have to say that I selected them because of the perceived "value" for me. I am a business owner and I place a high premium on companies who treat their customers right and with high integrity. They did exactly what they said they were going to do and there were no surprises. They also finished the job 1-2 days before they quoted, which I very much appreciated. They worked closely with my chosen Solar company (Sullivan Solar) to prep the roof for solar install, which is happening next month. My experience with Luke Roofing Inc. goes back some twenty plus years when I replaced my shingle roof with a class A asphalt roof. It was nice to know that he is still in business ! I was not surprised really when I thought about it, because his price was competitive, they did exactly as the contract said with no surprises, they cleaned up at the end of each work day and if my memory serves me correctly they wrapped up the job a little earlier than expected. I recently purchased a solar system through Luke Roofing. I couldn't be more happy with how it turned out. I could tell up front that Gary is an honest professional and I had a strong sense that he would treat me right. I did not get this same impression from most of the other companies I spoke to. He designed the exact system I needed and presented me a fair price. Since I have a clay tile roof, I was concerned about the re-roofing necessary for the job. After he explained how he would do it and comparing it to what other companies said they would do, I felt assured that working with Luke Roofing would insure that the job was done right. Gary handled everything from designing the system, getting signatures from neighbors, obtaining approvals from my HOA and the city, purchasing the best hardware, installing the system (including the re-roofing), getting final inspections completed, and having me switched over to net metering with SDGE. He even submitted the application for the SDGE rebate. The whole process took only a few weeks. I was also impressed by Gary's dedication to doing the job right. After my system was up for a few days I noticed some of the panels were not performing well due to shading by two of my chimneys. Gary was surprised since the estimate he originally obtained from the solar panel company did not show that this would happen. He went back to the company, got new estimates, and immediately agreed that panels needed to be relocated. In short order his team came out and relocated a number of panels. Now my system is producing better than the original estimate. Gary never once hesitated or complained about having to do this re-work. My system has been performing flawlessly for almost two months now. I highly recommend Luke Roofing for any roofing or solar installation job. I was challenged with a very complicated roofing problems as it was made of metal, tile and installed wrong which caused many leaks. The roof was only 10 years old!! It took me 3-4 months of interviewing contractors as I needed to get the right one. Can you believe that the only one to come up with a water test on top of the roof was Gary the owner!
