I am deeply concerned and regretful having hired this company. The initial meetings with Scott were great: knowledgeable and trustworthy. He cited that he had done a lot of commercial work. It all sounded great. We needed an entire roof of a Four-plex ripped and replaced. Communication was prompt and project moved along well. Before we sent final payment, we went over some remaining issues and things were fixed. Then things changed drastically. A major storm came and caused leaks. It took weeks for Scott to respond to the emergency request to have the issue patched up. A brand-new roof shouldn't be leaking. Another storm came by and again, it took days for him to reply back and take care of the issue once and for all. Any interior damage caused by these leaks were not covered under warranty, according to him, though that clause is unenforceable in the State of California for this situation. However, I had let it slide and decided to fix it myself later. Half a year later when one of the tenants moved out, I saw indentations across the ceiling as if sharp objects were pushed down from above. The tenant had never informed me, but she said that they appeared during the roof replacement. I also saw that the water heater exhaust pipe was loose and no longer attached to the roof frame. Same story for the HVAC exhaust pipe. It was clear that when the roof was replaced, the workers did not take great care to ensure the exhaust pipes were securely fastened back. I texted Scott. I called the number on the company's website. I sent a message through the website. I emailed. It's been a week with no response. [UPDATE: He finally responded after I submitted this review on Yelp and cited that interior damage is not covered under warranty. I informed him that this was untrue and am asking him to take responsibility for the damage caused. I rather not file a complaint with the Contractors State License Board, but will if he keeps hiding behind that unenforceable warranty clause. If necessary, I will have another roofer provide a second opinion, fix the issues, and have the State go after him for reimbursement.] read more

Disappointing. I had a repair done by them 2 years ago and leak came back in the same spot. Roof is original from 1998 and I spoke to Scott back in November about replacement. I had a scheduled meeting at my house which he never showed up to. He has also been non responsive since the last time we spoke. I also had a friend that wanted to get a roof from him too and same thing. It's too bad because I honestly like Scott when we would speak and he seems honest. However his communication is poor and both times we had something scheduled he was a no show. As mentioned did it to a friend as well that I recommended him to as well. I honestly cannot say enough good things about Scott and OC Roofing. First, I had a leak during the heavy rains that of course flooded our two young kids bedrooms. I called Scott and he sent out someone immediately, on a Sunday, to come patch the leak. We were so thankful and happy that we proceeded to get our roof and fascia boards replaced using Scott and his team. They worked VERY hard, and had the job completed in about a week. He's a former Veteran, which only added to my impression. They were trained to have high-level skills, such as integrity, honesty, reliability and capability, due to knowledge and experience. Here's the deal, all we needed was a few leaks fixed and some cosmetic work on the awning due to wood rot. We had 3 different contractors come in before we called Scott. All 3 stated the roof needed other repairs as well , though ironically, each contractors list of "additional work" was different from the others. One contractor quoted us $7,000 BUT, as luck would have it they just happen to have a crew working down the street so,if we didn't mind them starting immediately and working throughout the weekend they could save us $1000. Did I mention that was also Easter weekend? In what universe do you have someone come in on a holiday weekend and you save money? Another contractor showed up in a brand new BMW with 3 other people, walked around the perimeter of the house and without even stepping on the roof, quoted us $6,700. It was like magic . I decided to see what yelp had to offer and found Scott. It wasn't just the positive reviews that caught my attention but how he handled the negative ones. He didn't ignore them, make excuses or try to turn it around on the customer. He owned up to them. He came, gave us a great quote and never once tried to upsell us. His crew came at 7:45am ready to work. Once 8am hit they were working their asses off and did an amazing job. We are beyond happy with both Scott, his crew and their work. I am a resident at a site where this roofing company just completed (sort of) a job. My roof was one of the first to be done and I am still cleaning up debris (wood chips, nails and shingles) from over a month ago. It's all over the place. When the job is complete (sort of) The workers left a bunch of trash right outside my house that has yet to be picked up. It's just been sitting there collecting ants from all of the drinks and containers that the workers left behind. Pretty embarrassing, most professionals tend to clean up after themselves and seems like it would be easy when the dumpster is literally 50 feet away. All of this is located a few feet away from where all the neighbors kids play so just awesome. Lastly, myself, including a couple other neighbors had the pleasure of replacing tires on our cars due to roofing nails that were left in the driveway. I myself had two tires that were damaged so had no choice but to replace all four and you guessed it, the owner was not willing to pay for the damage for any of our tires. Maybe it's because we're a residential area behind gates and hidden from the public that they did such a poor job. But I would think you'd want to perform a quality job regardless of who it's for or where it's located. UPDATE 7-8-19 Since I posted this review I had a chance to speak with and discuss the above concerns with Scott from OCCR. I am very happy to report that Scott not only addressed my concerns but we were able to come to an agreement on the cost of my truck tires. Can't express how much I appreciate the way Scott handled this with me, I will all business people were like him. This is definitely a stand up company with an honorable man running the show. After spending $500 on repairs, we were told by the insurance company that we now needed a new roof and had 6 days to submit a signed contract for the new roof. So I waited to write this review because people get busy and schedules get crazy and since it's not really raining much anymore, I could wait a bit. The punchline is Scott is quick to take your money on the first go round but if you need a follow up or warranty work, get ready to be forgotten. That's a shame. The story: Back in early March when it was raining a little, I got a leak in my roof. Paint bubbled on a corner column of my house. Seemed urgent...a roof leak when it was raining...so I put out a Yelp request for help. OC Roofing was quick to respond, was very nice and professional, provided a quote, and could come the same day. Perfect. Scott came out to check out my roof, saw what he thought was the problem, and upon approval applied the fix. He sent me a **very large** bill for the work performed the next day and I promptly paid him...extending him the same courtesy as he gave me. I paid that large bill thinking part of it was him doing the work and certainly the other part was like "insurance" just in case I needed him for future issues with that fix. A week later it rained again and it seemed like the same area was still leaking. I reached out to Scott to let him know. He ignored my texts at first but when I sent him a message on the Yelp messaging he responded. He said he totally will come back out. He will let me know later in the week. Sounds good, I said. Didn't hear back from him for over a week. Texted him back. Oh, I haven't forgotten about you, he replied. Totally will get out there. OK, I said. Nothing for another week. Reached back out. Nothing. Reached out again. Nothing. Last communication from him was April 7 promising he would come over. It's now April 22 and still no response. And I'm not in Cota or Seal Beach or San Clemente or the middle of nowhere... I'm in Anaheim...the middle of OC!!! Scott's happy and quick to take your money but if you need him again to warranty his work, good luck getting them back out. They already got you and you are SOL. Roofing is something you wholly rely on the service provider to do a good job, be honest, and stand behind their work. Unfortunately Scott would rather make money churning and burning new customers than repeat customers as I won't use him anymore and I won't recommend him either...and interestingly all my friends and family have roofs too. read more

I had Scott repair a leak in our garage a year ago. The same leak came back recently. I contacted Scott and he had a crew stop out and said it wasn't the roof it was our balcony. They sealed the balcony at no charge which we appreciated. We agreed that if it leaked again he would come out to fix the roof after the rain stopped. I was also told by the crew that Scott would call me to discuss etc. Days went by and no call. I attempted to call and text him on his work line and his cell phone which I had from before. I even contacted the crew who came out to relay a message to him and nothing no reply no call back nothing! We felt like he didn't want to honor that he would fix the leak. Finally we received a call back about a week and a half later from Scott. He was very apologetic saying something about not getting messages due to a technical issue....hmmmm ok I guess. Round 2. So the roof leaked again just like I thought it would. I text Scott on his cell phone to let him know and received an almost immediate reply which I was pleasantly surprised to receive. We agreed to schedule a time after the rain stopped and he stated he would get it taken care of "ASAP!" I waited until after the rain stopped and called and text Scott a few times and guess what.....no reply yet again! So now we are left with playing this game of trying to get back in touch to get our roof fixed "ASAP" like Scott promised. So please believe the reviews you've read about being completely ignored and blown off. read more

Scott didn't even bother to show up today nor called me after 10am as to why he coundn't make it. I chose Scott based on YELP recommendation. I had high hopes based on good reviews, but good reviews can be some times deceiving. I also had written communication with them through YELP App giving all my details which Kylee asked for, but never had reply back. I just stayed home to keep the appointment, but now I regret it.
