This is the second time that we have chosen Above It All Roofing to fulfill our roofing needs. We were extremely satisfied after the first roofing job they installed for us a few years ago, which was on a flat roof with difficult drainage issues. They did an outstanding job and provided ideas and solutions we had not thought of, and the roof is still serving us well. After having to have our house tented for termites, many tiles were discovered to be broken. We called Above It All Roofing once again, and Dave, the Project Manager who had represented the company before, came out and spent time with us to assess the situation and answer our questions. We had been told by the termite company that 19 tiles were broken. Manny and his team came soon after to replace the broken tiles. However, when they got up on the roof and could see the whole picture, there were actually 32 tiles broken and places where the material lining underneath the tiles had torn through. Considering that the roof was the original roof from more than 40 years ago, and after discussing several options with Dave, Dave suggested that we not totally re-roof with all new tiles, but instead re-tile with our existing tiles that were in good shape, and install new ones where needed, with all new liner paper. And, that is what we elected to do. We appreciated Dave's expertise and problem-solving abilities, as well as his care of us in understanding our needs and concerns and spending the time with us to make sure we understood and were clear on options. Dave was so patient and kind in seeing us through the processes and in answering my questions as we went along. He is a fine, integrous man with whom it is a pleasure to work. As to the actual job, Manny and his team worked so very hard for 6 days, even on Christmas Eve day, to make sure our job was completed as quickly as possible. They reported on time, worked efficiently all day, and then cleaned up completely at the end of each day. Moreover, Manny and the "boys" have great skill and expertise and are perfectionists. They did a beautiful job! On top of that, they are kind and gracious people, and it was a pleasure to have them at our home. They made what could have been a stressful experience one that was reassuring and comforting because of who they are as craftsmen and as people. During our home purchase in June of 2018, we had a roof inspected by four different companies, three of which recommended that a replacement was strongly recommended (the one company that did not agree did not actually do roof replacements of resets). I worked with Dave directly and he, having grown up in Orange County, was very knowledgeably about roofs in our area specifically. In addition, he did not charge to inspect the roof and also reviewed the paid inspection (with photographs) of a competing company. Ultimately, we settled on a roof reset. Above-it-All's workers were punctual and were generally good about clean-up (we had a minor issue with lunch trash initially, but Dave resolved this quickly). Dave also came out on at least two occasions to oversee progress on the job. One critique is that we added on a power wash for $1,000 but the power wash ended up washing out and fading the colors from our brick-colored cement tiles. Had I known the tiles would have faded as substantially as they did, I would not have added on the power wash. Admittedly, Above-it-All is not the cheapest: our home 2,800 SF home in Irvine was estimated at ~$17,000 initially, and after additional damage to shiplap was discovered, other minor issues, and paint, the total cost came out close to $20,000. Since completion of the work, two minor issues have come up (one broken tile discovered a week later and what appeared to be loose nails on the roof discovered 7 months later). With respect to the broken tile, Dave had the tile replaced the very next day. Regarding the nail, it ended up being a non-issue (i.e., normal) but Dave responded within 24 hours. I'm not sure what happened with the other customer who took issue with Above-it-All's insurance policy, but I will say that I specifically requested a copy of Above-it-All's worker's compensation and liability insurance, which Dave provided; I did not see any problems with their proof of insurance (although I did not have to make any claims either). All said, I am happy with the work and very much appreciate Dave's responsiveness _after_ the job has been completed with respect to follow-up questions or issues. Above-it-All roofing will probably not come in with the lowest bid for your job but regardless, I would strongly recommend Above-it-All Roofing for your roofing needs. read more

With all the rain this past year, and my older roof, it was inevitable that the leaking would come. So I started the unenviable task of obtaining quotes for a new roof. I received three quotes and decided to go with Above It All Roofing. Dave had come out to inspect and give me a quote. Unlike the other companies that I had a hard time getting someone out to quote the job, Dave showed up early on the agreed upon time and day. We scheduled the roof "re-set for the second week of May (my request). Dave called to see if they could start a week earlier which did end up working for me. On the day they started the job, Mike the owner, came and introduced himself as well as his job supervisor, Manuel. Great people and very professional. The crew was fantastic and worked their tales off. Every day they showed up early or right on time and started working right away. As I am sure with any roofing job, you never will know how bad the existing roof is until you start removing the old stuff. My roof had many more broken tiles than what was thought, as well as termite damage and wood rot, so my cost ended up slightly higher than what had been estimated. Dave had discussed this with me at the time of the initial estimate, so I was prepared for this, and not at all surprised. Dave contacted me as the work was being done to let me know what had been discovered. They also replaced the fascia board and even painted it for me as well, making sure to match the paint color with what I originally had. In the end, I couldn't be happier with these folks! Total pros, hard working crew, Mike the owner, a true professional and Dave too, a true professional. The crew was without a doubt the hardest working I've ever encountered. My wife and I searched Google, Yelp and Aggie List for the prospective roofing companies to assess our aging roof and to propose the right actions to repair the water damages, which we could see at the corners of our roof. Instead of asking up for 6 companies for this job, as indicated by other reviews, we nailed it down to 2 companies only after extensive search. These 2 companies all have very good reviews to start with, and they came to look at our roof promptly and both came to the same conclusion that we needed a complete re-roofing. The project would replace the water-proofing felt layer and any broken tiles. Any water damaged or termite infested wood should be replaced also at pre-determined per foot price per category. These 2 companies bid were a little different. But 'Above It All Roofing' has a 10-year warranty, which my wife cares a lot. Then the sale person Dave made a big difference in the decision making. He was courteous and honest. We felt that could trust him. He worked hard to get our project and came to our house 2 times before we finally signed the contract with 'Above It All Roofing'. Our project then was scheduled to start. The owner of the other company happened to know the owner of 'Above It All Roofing', Mike. Even after we notified him that we would go with'Above It All Roofing', he still gave us good reference and blessing. So we felt good choosing the right company for our roof project. There were 5 people worked on our roof. They were nice and friendly, cleaned all debris at the end of the day before they left. Everything went smoothly. We were surprised that there was more wood damage than was expected earlier. Dave came here every day and showed us the damaged wood after it was replaced. The running joke re our 50 year old shake shingle roof was, one more good wind and the roofers wouldn't have to charge us for removal. Five minutes after calling Above It All Roofing, I got a call from David Brunn, Sales and Project Manager, that afternoon Dave came by the house and wrote up a contract with a great quote. We were anxious as to what additional work would be needed once the shingles came off, but Dave was very reassuring that they could handle it, even if there were a slight increase in cost. I had my doubts as to them having seen 'worse jobs', I knew we had to be right up there in the top two! To no one's surprise, the Tear Off Team, were done in less than two hours. Once the roofing job started, I had a suggestion re the facia at the front of the house and Dave made it happen...no fuss no problem! Dry rot and termite damaged made it necessary to replace 6 sheets of plywood and it increased the quote a minimal amount...well worth it! Dave was available by phone and came to the worksite at least once a day - despite seeing surgeons for a broken hand..probably from writing up so many contracts! :-) Manuel who headed up the roofing crew was exceptional: they showed up promptly, worked steadily throughout the day, despite the tremendous heat wave we were experiencing, and cleaned up after each day. The roof of my 28-year-old house was leaking. I called Above-It-All-Roofing to get an estimate to repair the leak. Dave came over and prepared the estimate while he was here. We went over the estimate in detail and Dave answered my questions. There was no pressure to sign the contract and Dave provided his cell phone number in the event I had more questions. I decided to use Above-It-All-Roofing because they had the best estimate, my sister used Above-It-All-Roofing 15 years ago and she's happy with her roof, and the company has many positive reviews. The roofing job was to replace the felt on the entire roof, reuse existing tiles, and replace broken tiles. The cost was approximately $20, 000. The job was scheduled, the workers showed up on time, worked long days, cleaned up each day and finished in 4 days. After they finished, I noticed black flashing was installed. I wanted the flashing to be painted the same color as the stucco, but I did not have the paint. Later, I also noticed some tiles on the lower roof were chipped or discolored. I bought the paint, and I called Dave to schedule a time to have the flashing painted, the chipped tiles replaced, and the discolored tiles relocated. Dave came over with one of his workers who painted the flashing, replaced the chipped tiles, and relocated the discolored tiles. In October of last year, after three days of howling Santa Ana winds, my 60 foot Sycamore tree gave up and crashed onto my house causing extensive roof damage. After inspection from the insurance company, it was determined the entire roof need to be replaced. We are talking about 5200 Sq feet. The insurance company sent their own roofing company and I got two other estimates. Above it All Roofing (AIAR), was the middle estimate. The estimate did not cover tarp if there was rain, (which there was), termite damage or the cost of the shiplap, fascia board or any other lumber to repair the damage. I will say to the other reviewer who complained about the cost of the lumber, AIAR's per square foot quote was in all cases $2.00 cheaper than the other two companies. I chose AIAR because the sale rep David, was very professional, knowledgeable and up front with added cost like termite damage. They also had the best warrantee, which was 10 years. David's crew of 5 showed up every day on time. They were very careful about not allowing the tile to fall on the shrubbery and cleaned up every day including using a magnet around the perimeter of the house for nails or other debris. If there was a problem with something, I could call David directly and he would be over and address the issue until it was solved to my satisfaction. Overall I was very happy with this company and highly recommend them to anyone. read more

Above it All Roofing When I had multiple roofs' leak, I went online to find a reliable company to assess our roof. Above it All Roofing ratings and reviews stood up above many companies and I gave them a call and got an appointment within a reasonable time. When David - the project manager - and his team came to our house, they evaluated our roof and showed me the issues. They explained to me that I needed a new roof for our house. Then, David gave me a detailed explanation of what is needed to fix the roof and he gave me an estimate upfront. When his team came to start the work, they were very professional: they covered the AC unit, replaced all the damaged woods, replaced all the damaged tiles, and they changed all the vents. They also moved all the originals tiles (which are slightly different from the new tiles) in the front of the house and kept the new tiles in the back of the roof. The original tiles are not in stores anymore. At the end of the day, the team cleaned up the debris and blew up the dust before they left. Overall, I am very satisfied with the quality of work provided by Above it All Roofing and their price, to mention, is very competitive. I highly recommend Above It All Roofing. They quickly responded to my request for a bid, did a thorough examination of my roof, and presented me with detailed quote. Dave Brunn was our Project Manager, and he reviewed the quote with us and made sure we clearly understood all the details before we signed the contract. We did a restack of our tile roof. This approach saved us a good deal of money as most of our tiles could be reused. The workmen were professional, friendly, and diligent. They replace all questionable wood and put down a double layer of waterproof sheeting before replacing the tiles. This review is long overdue. This summer we reroofed our home. It was a complete tear off and then replace with a lightweight concrete shingle. Martin was our project manager and I have never met anyone in roofing that goes as far as he does with customer service. The whole company was professional but Martin was the star. We were particular about the roof we wanted and desired to see homes with the same roof. It was not a common roof but Martin hustled to find us homes that had it along with having full tile samples delivered. Due to Covid inspections in My city were being delayed. Martin was on top of all the inspections going to city hall building office to make sure we were inspected on time. Additionally after the tear off the team completely covered the roof with plastic. It was a weekend and the inspectors would not come until Monday. I could not believe on Saturday morning Martin drove 45 minutes to our house to inspect the plastic covering because it had been windy the night before. We had no problem but he was checking anyway. The company's pricing was competitive and they use their own crew so all the workers are engaged and care about your roof. I can recommend Above it All without hesitation. read more

Woke up Saturday to discover our roof leaking and dripping a lot of water in the hall (guessing from all the rain recently). Contacted Angie's List (which I usually do) and immediately got the reference of "Above It All Roofing" in Irvine. David Brunn called me to schedule something but was booked until Wednesday so I needed to schedule someone else (for the next day) to assess the situation. HOWEVER, I received a phone call at 7:30am Sunday from David saying that he thought about our dilemma and, even though it was his day off, he would come over a take a look at our roof. Within 15 minutes he was looking in our attic and assured my husband that we did not need HIS service...we needed a plumber (we had a hole in our copper pipe). He told us to just turn off the water and the leaking would stop (which it did). We just had our roof replaced by Above It All Roofing. What an amazing job they did! I've worked for large commercial general contractors for 45 years and I know a well organized and professional subcontractor when I see one. The salesperson, Dave Brunn, was very professional and responsive. They gave me a date six weeks in advance and showed up one day early. We have 5200 SF of roof and they had the old concrete tile roof removed in five hours and any damaged plywood and ship lap replaced all on the first day also. The second day they completely papered the roof and loaded all the new product onto the roof. So we were only exposed to rain for 24 hours and they still covered the roof with plastic the first day. It took them 2 - 1/2 days to completely install the new roof (5 days from start to finish) and they called for inspection the next day (Day6). They did two other roofs on my street and I was impressed with those which is why we chose them to do ours. Steve W. I started with obtaining estimates from four roofing companies that are mentioned in the Better Business Bureau in the Orange County area. I have also checked the State of California Consumer Affair website concerning all aspects of this company. Dave from the Above It All Roofing gave a quote for tile reset with new felt underlay that is about in the middle of all the quotes. However, only Dave used an smart phone app designed to use satellite photos of roof tops to obtain total roof area of a property. I am impressed that the app also takes into account the pitch of the roof. The estimate was completed on the spot. The other companies took a few days to come up with the estimates. Dave was very professional in explaining in detail what will be done to fix the leaks. The crew headed by Helio was very friendly and willing to explain any questions I had. My sister and I inherited our parents house and needed a new roof. I called "Above It All Roofing" for an estimate and they came out the next day. The day the work started they came on time and got started right away but had a problem when the first inspector came but the work was approved to proceed and was finished in just 2 days. We have 2 patio/walkway covers on the sides of the house to keep us out of the rain that our father built that are "not legal" per city codes so that holds up the final inspection on the roof (so be aware of this if you have any UN-permitted structures around your house) until I have them torn down and either left without cover or replace them with something permitted (which is harder to get done with the stupid city codes). The owner mike called me personally to see if there was anything he could do. This tells me Above it All Roofing was the right company to choose because they care about the customers needs before, during and after the job is done. My home needed 2 repairs -- 1) a "Roof Tune Up" which included replacing the Ridge caps, resealing & painting all vents & clean / clear rain gutters. & 2) my patio roof needed some repair work / leak repair. The estimator (Jay) was at the house at the time he said. The price was way below what I'd received from 2 other contractors. The roofing crew was at the job at the agreed upon time & completed the job quickly including a quality clean up. I did notice an VERY small area on the patio roof the needed some attention & the crew promptly completed the job to 100% satisfaction.
