We had the BEST experience at Luke's just before Christmas. It was a super cold day and when we approached we weren't sure they were open - but the employees immediately saw us walk up and waved us around back to sit inside to order and eat. Came here to try out this place while walking around the Dumbo area during a hot day. It's located in a pretty cool spot near the waterside, so you can see views of the city and bridge. There was no line at all when I got there, but that might've been because of the strong heat and sun outside, so my experience of service was quick and easy. Food was good, the roll was nicely done. I actually ordered the Luke's Trio (lobster, crab, shrimp) and the only one I even remotely liked was shrimp. The seafood didn't taste fresh and the melted butter has hardened and congealed by the time it arrived. I ordered the Truffle Butter Lobster roll. Oh wow that was delicious. It came with a bag of chips for $25 ( 4 oz of lobster roll). There are many add-ons options or making it a bigger meal options. I decided to stick with just the lobster roll and the chip. I didn't want to pay extra given that Luke's isn't cheap especially when converting it to Canadian dollar. My friend on the other hand who ordered directly after me had to wait a while. Everything was fresh, but the clam chowder was saltier with tougher clam pieces than usual. It is a relatively small location, with a good flow of customers purchasing lobster rolls - however, there was never a long line. I bought 2 original 4oz lobster rolls, as well as 1 original 6oz lobster roll. Overall, the lobster was extremely tender and tasty, with a good amount of lobster with each order. If you are coming to try out these lobster rolls, be prepared to spend a lot of money. For these 3 lobster rolls, I had paid just over $90 usd. With the amount of lobster, I can say the price is justified, but it is still a lot of money, especially for street food. On a side note, a great experience is to purchase these rolls and sitting on the benches or tables lined alongside the water, as there is a great skyline view of NYC across the water. read more
