Tried Luk's in Litchfield last night for the first time. The service was great, the food was good with a broad choice of food.

Our waiter, Nate, was spot on with menu knowledge, table side manner and timing, overall highly professional. We had specific requests (baked fish tacos, not fried) and everyone's food was cooked perfectly and delicious. I definitely would come again and highly recommend the Homestead.

I am also a person who thinks half of the experience is the service and I was slightly disappointed at the beginning of our meal but by the end things definitely improved. I was not thrilled that we were not offered bread when the tables next to us were. I was also not impressed that our waiter forgot to bring our salads between the appetizers and main. That being said when it randomly started to rain we were instantly offered to move inside and offered new drinks. I do think we will continue enjoying the Homestead but if I'm paying 300$ for three people I do expect slightly better preparation of food.

Walking in 7 minutes after opening, this place was already packed. Full of Patriots fans hooping and hollering to the end of the fourth quarter. Every appeared in a merry mood, and everyone knew each other it seems. Service here was great. Our waitress whipped around the room with finesse and speed, working the bar and tables all by herself. She was to the point but pleasant. The beers are ok, but they aren't anything spectacular. An average selection of nearby beers of all varieties. Going to other breweries in New Hampshire, I know that this state can produce good beers. Perhaps they just had a mediocre selection the week I was there. We ordered a medley of items and most of it was hit and miss. In the sampler, the pork cracklings were decent, although dinner pieces were hard to chew since they turned into a dense fried bit. The fries were ok, but standard. The tator tot was actual pretty good, but there's this sweetness and texture that makes me think of pumpkin? That could be upsetting to some. The chicken tenders are ok, but the breading isn't seasoned or exciting in texture. It felt like how I would fry chicken at home with only one coat of breading. The pickle chips were good, even though they were not spicy at all. If they called these paprika coated chips, then I would agree. But texture wise, they were actually crisp and not super watery. The pulled pork tacos are ok, but they rely more on sweet barbeque sauce more than anything else. The tortillas are subpar in flavor, but sturdy enough to hold everything together. The veggies slaw did add some nice acidity though. The wedge salad here is terrible. I should have looked up what others posted before I ordered it. It was a literal wedge of plain iceberg, with all the other ingredients and fixings dumped in the middle. The stuff in the middle was ok, but nothing felt harmonious. Just a bunch of salad ingredients added to a giant paper tray. It felt like a waste of 9 dollars for what was lazy preparation.

The beer and drink list is decently large too and the prices are great. Tried a few different bites from their menu and all were good. We did NOT eat here other than the popcorn at the end of the night, so I can't touch on that, but the popcorn did come in clutch after a few drinks!! We started with a couple beers. Service was great and super quick. I was disappointed that a lot of their beers had run out - I'm not sure if there's a better way to handle their beer menu but maybe a printed menu isn't the right choice since it seems they run through them pretty quick. Regardless, I found a couple I wanted to try and was able to create a flight with them. I loved that they have so many local beers to try from. We also indulged in their free open mic comedy upstairs, which was hilarious. It seems like they always have something going on to keep people entertained. Great experience, if we lived close, this would probably be a regular spot for us.

Definitely a surprise to the regular clientele. Look for the roadside sign into their large parking lot. The building is set way back. Signs every where instruct patrons. A large over head sign lets you know to "order here." No waitress service. Belly up to the bar and place food and drink orders with the bartender. A sign at the bar instructs "order, pay, move outta the way!" I just love this. Signs on the tables instruct "Do not drag tables". however, you can pick them up and move them. Just don't drag them. For our crowd, we did have to move a couple tables and chairs. There is a jukebox on one wall and I must say the clientele have excellent musical taste. This is absolutely my kind of bar. We had some fun conversations with locals. The bartender was friendly and efficient. All together an enjoyable visit. Besides soft drinks, bottled beers and a full bar, the food menu is pretty extensive. Apps, sandwiches, salad, entrees. With live music, pool table and darts this is a good neighborhood bar.
