Cash only so beware, I never carry cash anymore! Also not a good place for mixed drink lovers. They only have basic items, couldn't even make a martini. Fun divey kind of bar where the locals go. Came on a Friday night and while there was only one bartender she did an amazing job at serving everyone! Their beer list was quite impressive, lots of taps and good local beers! We saw a food list on the wall and asked about it, bartender said no food tonight (on a Friday) which was weird. Wish I would've read the reviews first. New guy to area. Live right over the town line in Amherst. Tried the bar for the first time last night with my wife for date night. Watching the celtics game and at first everything seemed cool. Chit chatted with Tony since I was a vet and he had some mil stuff up. Play a few games of skee ball with the Mrs. No issues right? Then go to the female bartender to get another drink. Was trying to be nice and remarked about her looking like she was taking a break so I didnt want to bother her. Dont know what happened but she took it all sideways and started interrogating me about "how I was getting home" and whatnot. Was completely blindsided by the question. Told her I lived four miles up the road and why would she ask me that. Mind you its only 10pm. I then said half jokingly, "why are you cutting me off or something" and she, dead faced, said "yes". I asked why? I'm a guy in my late 40s not like I'm out these days to cause a ruckus. She answered something obscure about a Milford cop parked across the street. Not sure what that had to do with anything so I talk to Tony again and was like dude, whats her problem. He blew me off and mentioned the cop again, who was now in the bar talking to the female bartender. At this point I felt like I was being set up or something so we left immediately. Gotta say never been treated like that, ever. Served 28 years in the Army and been in a lotta places but certainly didn't expect that from a place in my own hometown! Great old school bar where the locals are very welcoming. The chick that bar tends is great. There is a super secret Tiger drink that is not on the menu that is amazing. If you have to drive to check this place out it's worth it. Don't be intimidated by the quite locals just introduce yourself and you will make friends. Owners are good people. read more

Me and my wife decided to stop in here for a drink tonight. What a bad mistake that was. I sat at the bar and ordered a Long Island iced tea which I enjoy mind you I'm 40 years old. The bartender was extremely rude and cracking jokes with other customers saying it was a child's drink and continue to be rude to us the entire time. If you're looking to be uncomfortable and have your bartender s*** on you then I suggest going to this bar if you want to have a good time with you and your friends or significant other I would suggest going elsewhere maybe pasta loft across the way. read more

Been to the Kilkenny a few times.... without a doubt the best local place for a wide selection of beer. Much improved since the reopening a couple years back! I've only been during "happy hour" where most pints are only $2.50....a deal and a half! They have about 35 brews on tap and a decent pub menu. Wings were excellent! Not sure about the experiences others have posted about. I have always had prompt and attentive service. Keep in mind this is a bar... not a 5-star restaurant. If great a great selection of brews, darts, table tennis, sports on TV, a kickass jukebox, and pool are your thing.... definitely check out the new and improved Kilkennys! read more

Wide selection of beer on taps. There is some excellent beer here, and from what I've heard from the owner, they change the selections seasonally. For gluten-free options, they actually have a few selections of cider on tap, usually angry orchard or woodchuck. There's nothing worse than having to decide on a fancy mixed drink at a dive bar. When I lived close by, a whole group of friends would go to Kils to watch "the walking dead". They would set all the screens to the show and it was actually really cool to have a huge showing of it. There's a sense of community here since its often locals come night after night. Kils is located on the Milford oval, which has a few other bars within a very short walk (or stumble) which creates a fun, safe, beautiful, small town, bar crawl. Don't expect fine dining here, but out of all the bars in town, this one was my favorite. ALSO, last time I was there, this is a cash only bar but has an ATM inside. read more

My kind of dive bar just off the oval in Milford NH. A true throw back to when bars were bars with darts, pool and a fooseball table. The bartender was friendly and quick with the refills. Yes it is cash only but that only adds to the old style charm. I'll definitely be going back. read more

I'd only been to this pub once before and had a blast. Great conversation, strong customer service, and a divey ambiance. However, during my second visit, I took my nightly arthritis pill at the bar and the bartender immediately accused me of doing illicit drugs. After offering to show her the prescription bottle, she demanded that I leave. When I shrugged it off and assured her that this was simply ridiculous, she informed me that drug use would not be tolerated. I wholeheartedly agree with this policy, however, I'm still scrambling to understand how it pertained to my situation. I departed shortly after to avoid further confrontation; not planning on giving them my business again. I might pop a Tylenol next time and go completely off the rails! read more

Very rude staff and trashy customers as well. Went there two times and will not be back again. Listened to bartender and a patron talk trash about a gay couple that was in there. We planned to visit this pub for New Year's Eve. After checking their web site and fan page, it looked like there were no scheduled special events or limited hours. Upon arrival, a note on the door said "closing at 9:30 pm". We went in, and after spending $12 on a beer and mixed drink, we asked to see a menu where the bartender let us know there was no food being served that evening. We asked if there was some place nearby where we could get food and she really couldn't tell us anything. She was hard pressed to be friendly and helpful. Not bartender material. (Isn't this illegal in NH - no food yet serving alcohol?) We left without finishing our drinks we as had nothing to eat and had to drive so forfeited the drinks. This was our anniversary outing, and we are not fussy people. At least post on your social media places if you are choosing to offer less services, we drove from 45 minutes away to visit this pub which we've wanted to do for a long time. When I was new in town I went in search of bar where I could watch games and maybe have some wings. The first time I went in I certainly felt new. There are always a group of regulars (and with good reason). If you're new be prepared: its a dark place, they do not serve fancy drinks, the wall is covered in dozens of taps/dollars, cash only- although there is an ATM, and the barkeep is not shy about cracking jokes. We ordered two beer and wings. My total was $ 7.50. Awesome. The people are friendly and funny. If you like them on Facebook you can see what new taps are coming out, when beers get discounted, and when there will be special events. I am now a regular. I've been there at least 50 times and I've never had a problem with the service. Best place in town. Hands down! read more

I'd give it three and a half stars, but I don't seem to be able to do halves when reviewing through the app. Great tap selection for the area (Sixpoint Resin, Long Trail Rye, Unitas Hop Notch) but don't be fooled by the food menu online - they don't really specialize in food (or may not have wanted to the day I went). Tons of great beers on tap, and many more in bottles to suit whatever flavor you could want. I agree with the other post, this is not a fine dining experience, but if you want a fun bar to shoot some pool and watch the red sox, this is the place! The pub food is pretty tasty, especially the french fries, and the home-made wing sauce is amazing. I love this place! Every time I go there the service is always fantastic! The people that frequent the pub are kind and always include outsiders. Everyone seems to get along just great! There is a large mixture of people that seem to be here from young to old. The 35 different beers they have on tap give a WIDE variety of choices. Their mixed drinks are well made an fairly priced! Seems like a locals only bar. First time ever being there. Beer prices are nice and that's about where the good times end. They blast the music so loud that you litterally can't hear the person sitting right next trying to you speak. I enjoy some good loud music but not at the cost of having a good time and not being able to carry a conversation. All they played was techno and country? Cops came into the bar looking to pull any drunk people out? BS! Sat at the end of the bar with another person waiting to order a drink with cash in our hands for 10 whole minutes and the place wasn't that busy! 1 of the bartenders constantly leaves the bar to dance and talk to the customers on a Friday night? Aren't you supposed to be working? The female bartender gave me a ton of attitude. I asked how much the pool table was per use, she said 1.25. All I said was thats an inconvenient amount of money seeing as I usually don't walk into a bar with 5 quarters and neither me or my friend had an extra 1$ on us. This bar is awesome! They have everything you could want in a bar, plenty of games and TVs, and great prices and specials. Plus, on top of all that, they have an incredible beer selection. New England is a great place for microbrews, and the guys here definitely make it a point to offer the best beer that New England, and the rest of the country, have to offer. Thay had a awsome selection of all sorts and types and the price was right. The atmosphere was light and I didnt have to push my way through a crowd to get a beer, or wait a long time. Stopped in on Sunday afternoon. out on the bike looking for cold beer and some food there was two people sitting in a dark barley lit slightly smelly bar. We ordered up some cold brews and asked for the menus we were told they didn't have any asked if they had food was told they have fries but it would take forty minutes to fire up the fryer. I told them i had seen their web site and saw the food on the menu. I was told that web site has not been used or updated for three years. I told them i saw the place listed in the N.H. magazine as a great place for a burger they told me that was a joke and they ( the mag.) had never eaten their. Very disappointed to say the least. They do have a lot of taps hanging out of the wall and I wonder what the liquor commissioner would say about no food being served? I think I will call him and ask him his opinion of the dive read more
