I came in last week and paid $78 for a full set by "ALICIA". 3 days later my nail started lifting and when I called I was told she wasn't in and I was going to have to wait til she get back and also pay to get it fixed. 1. I'm not paying 2. I've went to different nail tech's and this has NEVER happened 3 days later. The manager tried to make it seem like it could've been me. She kept saying it can be from me washing my hair or oiling my scalp. THEY all tried to come up with excuses to make me feel like I did something wrong. That's hurtful and so inconsiderate because i spent my hard working money to feel good and they are not taking accountability. I spoke to the manager again today and she still tried to blame me and kept saying I was going to have to pay. I kept asking to talk to the owner and they couldn't provide me with an email or a number or ANYTHING. I'm so upset because they really played in my face and kept being rude like I did something wrong. I figured out who the owner is and she's there EVERYDAY. I was able to get in for an appointment at the last minute and was excited as the holidays were approaching. The excitement ended pretty soon after my arrival. I waited about 30 minutes for someone to set me up to soak off my old acrylic overlay (which soaking off is always a long process) so why I wasn't set up to soak when I walked in was strange to me. I didn't realize everything was á la carte in terms of pricing. A very simple overlay with polish, shaping, and glitter ended up priced more than $100. I ended up spending about 2.5 hours there. I went to lula nails for the first time for an appointment the day before thanksgiving to get a regular full set. I was looking for a new place, local to me. i was there close to 3 hours! but i was nice and very patient. By the end when she said all done, i really had to leave at this point, my son had woken up for the day and i had to get home asap so my hubby could leave. (so this is why i couldnt stay and have them fixed). but anyways when i got home i really looked at my nails. they were bad. the tips were really crooked, they were lumpy bumpy and oddly shaped and 2 were slightly crooked. so at home i filed like crazy. i guess i decided just to deal with them. Its hard to find time away from the little one to do things like this anyways. they looked...ok kinda sorta from far away maybe. However, after 5 days, 1 nail came off easy and 3 were loose. around day 8 most of my nails were loose and lifting. i called to have them fixed. she said she could get me in a few days from now. great. the evening before the appt i had a family emergency and had to cancel and reschedule. i called the morning of at 7am and told the girl that i had to cancel my 11 and why. she said for me to cancel it on their website. which is only her phone number and an email. so i emailed. i waited a day and then emailed again. i never got a response. so i called the next day and spoke to someone else. i was told i was a no call no show and also too much time had gone by and i cant get them fixed now. $60bucks wasted! never again will i go to this salon. i mean my nails shouldnt all be hanging on by a thread even after 2 weeks either. Ive had nails last for weeks and weeks , or until i get them filled. But the nails always stayed on. NOT HERE. They were crappy and lasted only a few days. I hate to say this cause the girl was nice and she tried But the nails were just terrible And i WAYYY over paid. I wish i wouldve taken pics before i filed them myself!! Shakira is so nice. She fixed anything I noticed, took her time and offered advice. This is a boutique nail salon. Not just a quick set or shellac. Plan on spending at least 2 hours for a full set. This place is for glamour nails. With that being said the potential for amazing is there with some more time and experience. The scheduling system is not a normal experience. You will have to wait for approval of your appt from your tech. And mine didn't respond for almost 2 days. They do require a credit card to hold your place, so I couldn't cancel it. Basic manicure skills lacking. Why does the express service even exist if they can't deliver and do a good job? Anyways, I'm sure if you book a 2 hr appt, for $75+, they'll take their time and do a good job.. Also, I don't care about the drama among coworkers in the salon. They were very diligent with my appointments and it was an all around great experience. If you're looking for a good nail salon, this is the one! It's right on 8035 N Middlebelt Road. Something that took my old nail tech an hour to do took 2.5 hours to do here. Extremely overpriced and for simple sets in my opinion (and I'm one to always pay $80+ for a set of nails). A basic full set starts at $50 and that doesn't include length and/or shape. The ladies here are really nice and it's clean, but the prices don't match the service provided. You must call once you arrive to let them know you are there and have you wait in your car til they are ready for you, they do this to reduce the amount of people inside the shop. I love this nail salon. I get my nails done by Ming but all the nail techs do amazing work. The customer service is great, too.

My advice.... Just don't. 1 word for the owner, ghetto. Unless you have 3-3.5 hours to waste in their salon on top of $115. Ming and her staff are ALWAYS late. I've waited up to 45 mins for her to arrive at the stop as the FIRST appointment of her day. It's completely ridiculous. The nails come out looking nice but it's not worth my time or money. If you can't be on time to your first appointment of the day I suggest not booking clients at 10am. Especially when you start their service at 11. It's ghetto. So, let me start by saying, I LOVE MY NAILS WHEN I LEAVE THERE. It's, by far, the best nail salon in my area. I visited there for the first time last month. I was so impressed, I scheduled another appointment. BUT... I had to cancel an appointment because my husband was in the hospital. They are charging me $37 for a "Missed Appointment." I was never told (as a new customer) that there was a charge for "Same Day Cancelations." Last week, I made an appointment Monday morning. I got sick and called to say I needed to reschedule. Because they "waived" the fee that time, they invoices me for the $37 for the day my husband was in the hospital. Keep in mind, I rescheduled, not canceled.
