So I went here because of the reviews and because I needed something close to my daughters piano lesson. I'm used to going to Hollywood nails bc that's where I think it's best The pros: very very friendly. I had a girl named Princess and she was just the sweetest and if I had a problem she fixed it (I got French pedi and the tip was too wide she redid them). Isn't chatty which I just love. Pricing were good as well $7 for eyebrows $49 for shellac on my hands and French on toes. The cons: my cuticles were not all the way cleaned out. And they look as if they weren't even touched. I just. Prices now while taking pics. But I did have my 4 yr old with me so I didn't pay attention to what princess was doing. I have been going to this place for about 2 years! I got a shellac manicure 2 days ago which is my Normal service. Some how my shellac started to come off my nail completely!! Not chipping away the whole polish came completely off with no peeling or damage to my nail and I don't work any where that involves hard labor and my manicures usually last 2 weeks with out any chipping when I get them done there, so I knew something was wrong. I called after my 3rd nail went bare and the "Manager" of the salon picks up and decides to tell me I can pay $10 for her to fix my 3 nails tomorrow in which I'm sure by that time more of my polish would be gone. I proceeded to tell her that I have been a loyal client for years and I don't think I should have to pay anything especially considering it wasn't my fault and I always tip. She hung up on me so I called back and confronted her she then yelled and told me to come in tomorrow and still expected me to pay. I'm very disappointed at how this situation was handled because I truly like the salon however I will not be returning I would rather take my money else where. They hate to own up when they messed up and they think their customers needs to pay for their mistakes. It's sad they were willing to lose a loyal paying customer over a $35 manicure when I have spent 100X more than that with them over the past 2 years. read more

I come here only for polish change and design. The staff is really nice never a long wait cuz it seems they don't get as much business. I got a mani and pedi here. The mani and pedi only lasted a week and 1/2 where as at the other place I go to I can go a month. When they polish my nails the polish chips off in 3 days or less cuz they don't use a good basecoat so I bring my own. I really only come for the design and cuz the staff is extra nice. I was in DTW on an overnight for work & was in desperate need to get the 4-week old chipped up gel nail polish removed from my nails because it was looking a hot mess! (Well beyond a hot mess but you get the picture.) So I got on Yelp and began searching for nail salons in the area. As usual I look based on Star review and was presented with a list of salons that were pretty near my hotel. None of the pictures posted looked noteworthy tho. So I kept scrolling & stumbled upon D & T Nail Designs that was a bit farther out of my way but I have to say, the photos of Yelper's nails drew me in. From the shape & thinness of their nails to how nicely they were polished & the designs applied, their work was perfectly impressive! So 20 mins & $18 later my Lyft driver dropped me off at the salon. I was greeted immediately by 2 ladies sitting at tech tables. I confirmed my appt that was made just an hour prior & the tech welcomingly said, "Oh yes, come sit"! I sat at Lisa's station and she got started right away and was so friendly & her conversation was real. You know, not your typical, "where you work?", "you have boyfriend?" (Said in my best Vietnamese accent) She was actually cool. She was having a very entertaining conversation with one of their local patrons, Miss Glenda I believe, who was sitting next to me at Tina's station, and they were both making me LOL! Well I asked if they did the new Powder Dip nail technique & she thought I meant the acrylic powder overlayed onto my nails. So I showed her a YouTube video of the Kiara Sky Dip powder technique and she said, "Oh no, we don't do that here". She & Miss Glenda were impressed by the technique, tho, but we moved on & I opted for my usual Gel nail shellac. She gave me a simple manicure, filed, shaped & buffed my nails & after a good wash she made my nails look like tiny black shellac'd gems! It was fast, friendly & fantastic! Anytime my work brings me back to DTW this is exactly where I plan to go because this has been one of the prettiest gel nail manicures I've received...not to mention the customer service received was second to none. :) read more

Just being generous, they tore up my hands and feet. The nails were done poorly as well as one of my hands got stuck to a towel since they painted my nail and skin and I only got clear chilac. They also cut my feet on the side and I still have the scar. Then while I was giving a tip, one of the workers was rushing me to give a tip. Service was terrible the guy was rude and telled at me for talking to my sister-in-law who was sitting right next to me and said we need to stop talking because he got nail polish on my skin and blamed it on us. Also the guy who was doing my sister-in-law's nails cut the a huge piece of skin off her fingerand it was bleeding like crazy he sat there and did not know what to do about it. If I could have given this business zero stars, I would have. I've been here on several occasions and have even brought family members to get their nails done as well. Never had an issue until today and it was enough for me never to go again. There seemed to be a new girl that did my nails today and I began by showing her a pic of the design I wanted, she stated yes of course she could do the design I wanted. After she began painting my fourth finger I began to question her, ask how she was still going to do my design if she was painting the nail solid, and she ensured me she would still be able to. After she finished all my nails I informed her that this was not the design I had showed her originally. She then went on to say she couldn't do that design; I feel the whole experience was bad for business seeing that she led me under the pretense that she could do what I asked then went on to do whatever she wanted meanwhile leaving me to pay for something I didn't want. I spoke to another female who I guess is the manager, she just continued to tell me how they couldn't do what I asked for. I asked to be compensated Bc of it not being what I wanted and she refused to try to make the situation better at all. Needless to say I left and won't be back. read more

Please DO NOT go to this place. I went there recently as a walk in for a mani and pedi. They had a very small selection of dip polish, which I asked for. They insisted on the shellac. So, I got shellac on my fingers and toes. That is the least of my concern about this place, the lady that gave me the pedicure cut the side of my foot. I mentioned it to her as soon as it happened and she said ' oh no, I didn't do that'. I did not have any cuts on my feet before going in there. It has been a week and the spot is red and irritated. I may even need to go to doctor if it doesn't heal soon. On top of that when she did my manicure the polish was very old and clumpy. There are spots on my nail with no polish. I asked for a design and was told ' I don't do that.' How is that possible for a nail salon? I will not be back. read more

They are amazing! I just recently started going there for my nails and toes. They are extremely friendly and make you feel so comfortable. They are also very clean. They are only nail place that I have seen wash their pedicure stations and also put a new wrap over it between every use. (Which is amazing to me because I am always nervous about getting my pedicure due to people not cleaning them in between uses) and to add on, the prices are amazing! For my acrylic, shellac nails, with coffin shape, AND extremely long, they only charged me $45, when any other place charges me $60 or more for the nails I get. Overall amazing! read more

Went in for shellac, white tips, nothing special. While she was doing the tips she went higher with the white on one side of my nail, no problem. When I asked her to fix it she let out a big sigh and started slamming drawers and didn't even find a container to put the acetone in, she just poured it on the table and dipped her brush in it. When she went to the other hand... Same thing, the white was higher in one side; I asked her to fix it again. Her reply was rude "you want it straight across!?" I left in a bad mood and I regret paying for the horrible job and even worse service. I will never return! I am going back to Wonder Nails! read more

I had to repeatedly ask to have my nails shaped without a square edge. He filed my thumbnail so it was at almost a 45 ° angle until I asked him to straighten it. He completely shortened my nails when I didn't ask him to. I have bubbles all through my polish. I had to ask to have acrylic residue cleaned off my finger, when he did do it he used the dremmel... on my skin. He seemed very aggravating that I was asking him to do these things, because ya know when you pay 45 before tip for a manicure apparently you shouldn't ask that it be done right. I came here this morning for a manicure and pedicure. The woman who worked on my nails did an excellent job and really took her time to make them look nice, which I appreciated, but it took about an hour and a half, so I was a little late to work. I was expecting about an hour. However, the reason I am only giving three stars has nothing to do with the service- my nails are excellent and I love how they turned out. My issue was with the other two staff members who were not working on my nails: the owner and a nail technician named Lacey. I heard the owner swear several times while sitting two feet from me and another customer. He also engaged in a conversation about marijuana with the other nail technician, talking about how lucrative growing marijuana is. Lacey also would not stop talking about how she wanted time off for her birthday for a good twenty minutes, arguing with her boss about it because he said the salon would be busy on that Saturday. It just all seemed like very unprofessional conversations when there were customers near and it struck me as so odd. The technician who worked on my nails was wonderful, I do want to make that clear. It was just a little weird to hear such unprofessional language and conversation during what was supposed to be a relaxing mani pedi. read more
