We used to shop there for parties and holidays but the cupcakes are not good at all, and there isn't a need for cupcake wars like in the past. I ordered the 8" for $50 and it was HUGE- we unfortunately could not finish it all (tiny wedding!) and if we lived in the area we definitely would've frozen the remainder. We chose a vanilla hazelnut cake with nutella filling and hazelnut chocolate buttercream frosting, and yes, it was as delicious as that sounds! My cake matched the flower scheme for my wedding which was sunflowers and baby breath. Since delivery was $50 (the price of the cake!) I had my husband pick it up in the morning. From the moment you walk in the door, you are lulled by the sweet smell of cinnamon. The place itself is adorable - the decor is very fun and whimsical. We picked up several for my mom's birthday celebration. While we were there, my mom had a vanilla cupcake and I had coffee. It was the beginning of the weekend, so I was trying to fight the temptation, but by the end of the visit I had given in and ate pretty much all of her icing. I am an icing addict and this was pure heaven - just the right amount of sugary sweetness. Actually quite crumbly and not very flavorful. Their frostings were tasty but a bit heavy. It's worth a stop to satisfy your sweet tooth. This is a difficult review. We have been going to Luli's for the last 6 mos. They are expensive - but the product is good. They have several GF items - cupcakes as well as a large cookie type pie (2 large cookies w/cream in the middle). My disappointment is a little bit price but a lot of policy. There is no face protection, no gloves and all product is exposed to whoever is working. This weekend was the 2nd time since the pandemic. I feel like they are not concerned about the welfare of their customers. She pulled out our choices, set them on the display top and began to count - directly breathing on our selections. It was hard to watch. I asked why they don't wear protection and she said they don't have to. Even if she had gloves on I would have felt better. All brides and people placing orders be wary: lulis was sold. The former owner Kelly took my order and payment in full for a wedding/event cake. The new owner agreed in the purchase of the bakery to make my daughters gluten free event cake. We confirmed with the new owners of lulis over a month ago that the event is scheduled on thanksgiving weekend and we set up an appointment for a tasting for this past weekend at that time. We even selected the flavors to be prepared for the tasting. We spoke a second time about a week ago to slightly move the tasting appointment by 1 hour. When we arrived for our tasting (after driving an hour to get there), we were told that they would not be making the event cake. No call. No notice. No service. Just a weak apology. TERRIBLE customer service. Had we not requested a tasting in person, would they have simply not shown up the day of the event? It is one thing to decide not to do an event well in advance. It is something else entirely to decide not to do the event after confirming the event and tasting and then just not saying anything. I showed up for the tasting and the man (the cake decorator) who confirmed it on the phone with me scuttled into the back of the store. A female owner Jamie came over to me to deliver the message that "they had bad news." If this is the unprofessionalism exhibited shortly after buying the shop, what is going to happen after they have been around a while. read more

Our family vacation always includes a visit to the local beach town bakery for a variety box of cupcakes to share. Over the years we have found some delicious cupcakes as we spend a week at different Florida coast towns. The website for Luli's looked amazing, but sadly that's as far as it went. This is one of those small businesses that is so easy to support. The service is amazing, the flavors are unique and impressive, the variety is awesome, and they are fantastic about making special treats (mini-cupcakes, birthday cakes, etc.) for any event you may be hosting. My personal favorite is the carrot cake! Also, I discovered earlier this year I had a dairy allergy, and I was devastated. Luli's offers vegan options that are DELICIOUS and took away any sadness I had about not being able to enjoy my old favorite treats - they taste amazing, dairy or not. I have been coming here since the day they opened down the block. The cupcakes are AWESOME! And I use to love going there, I believe then the owners were on property.... Then they moved! I still love the cup cakes but I detest going there on the weekends...I am a tipper, sometimes I look like a bum because I am working on restoring a home around the corner, sometimes I look like a normal customer dressed casual... Does not matter... The gal there on the weekends is just so aggravated about helping you... I have tried heavy tipping ... Did not help...I see her driving to work sometimes, with the same sour puss on her face that she has when you are at the counter... She has so turned me off that I would rather fight traffic and go to the Spanish bakery and forgo the cup cake..... Owners ... This is how you loose customers! I am in love with the Funky Monkey: Banana and chocolate chip cupcake with the best chocolate icing on the planet. Two complaints get it 4 stars instead of 5. 1) Parking, but there is nothing you can do to help that. 2) I have never seen a vanilla/butter cupcake with chocolate icing. The old classic cupcake...... would love to have one from here. They make seasonal blends. Unfortunately, the strawberry shortcake is not available all the time. The cupcakes are $2.50. We were in town for the week and called the morning of and staff was very kind and even opened their door for me a few min early so I could pick up the dozen cupcakes. Day 1 we tried the vanilla raspberry cupcake, German chocolate and Pb&C. The vanilla raspberry was delectable. Cake dense and moist and the icing was the perfect compliment. My husbands favorite is German chocolate and he couldn't get enough! The PB&C was also a favorite of his. Icing was very much peanut butter flavored.
