Wish there was a zero star option. Walked into this location with my husband. Nobody acknowledged us...the older worker gave us a dirty look. Numerous customers walked in and were greeted. I guess if you have darker skin or darker hair you don't deserve to be acknowledged. This isn't the first time this store has treated customers the same way. Definitely will not return. This review is hands down about customer service. Lululemon has the most comfortable leggings/workout gear I've tried. Great quality. Honestly would not be spending $100s of dollars on it but worth it since I work out so much. They have a great selection at this location and sales rack is decent. The only problem is customer service. If I am spending butt loads of $$$$ for some leggings I expect the best customer service. Seriously. Ok this store gets 1 star because of the worst customer service I've experienced. Nobody acknowledged my presence and workers seemed to not care. I walked over to the fitting room to try on clothing and an employee who was facing me marking one item mind you said ( in annoyance), " What do you want?" Of course we all wish they were less expensive! So besides the obvious this store just opened black friday but no sales. I wasn't there but was so excited to see them open today because I really didn't want to battle UTC. Nina was awesome, this guy I wish I had his name, short with kind of shaved hair on one side, super helpful and sweet also. Everyone in this store was actually. Clean, men's on one side and women's on the other. I needed something they didn't have and two different people looked it up and made it happen. Sending right to my house for no charge. They also had the newest styles and prints which I had to pick up. Great product of course that's why they charge so much, because they can! Great quality you must pay for.. The blonde manager at this location is completely untrained, takes her job too seriously and extremely unprofessional/ condescending they refused to exchange brand new pants with tags still on for me and my fiancé . Del mars location was so kind and helpful they didn't give us any hassle when we took them in to exchange our items. i don't understand why the encinitas location is being ran by a bunch of girls sitting around and gossiping, they need to bring in new management. read more

Kevin was great. I had been in to other locations and had not made a purchase until today. As I was browsing he asked if he could help me find anything. He asked what I was going to use them for and pointed me in the direction of 4 different styles and explained why they'd work best. He was super helpful to even look up to see if he could get me more in my size that they didn't have in store. His friendliness will be the reason I go out of my way to shop there instead of the one 5 minutes from my house. The young lady at the cash register was extremely cheerful and friendly. I honestly wanted to give this place the benefit of the doubt based on other reviews... but they were right Worst customer service and very rude. I had ordered my first pair of pants online during quarantine, after a couple washes, the fabric pooled in multiple areas. As suggested by friends who own multiple pairs, I went to this location to try and return/exchange the pants because I heard LuLu was pretty good about exchanging items with fabric defects... here's how it all went down... Me: "yes I'm hoping you can help me, I've worn these pants only a couple times and the fabric has started to pool" AMANDA: "oh well you can't return it without the tag" Me: "well yeah the tag is gone because I wore them but after a couple washes, the fabric pooled. They're clearly defective, i have the receipt and date to show you. I've only had them for a few weeks " AMANDA: "well you can't return it without the tag. Did you wash them in cold and put them in the dryer? Because that's what happened " Me: "okay well this is my first pair of LuLu pants and all my friends who's have them have had their defective pairs exchanged here... they're $170 pants, they shouldn't do this" AMANDA: "oh, well do your friends work here?" UM are you kidding? So rude. Amanda should not be in customer service, esp to speak to a first time guest that way. I'll NEVER return to this location because of her. I got the wrong size pants (I saw it on sale and grabbed it without double checking) and even wore it to my pilates class once. I took it here with the receipt and they exchanged it for me, no questions asked. I thought that was very nice of them. I was able to exchange it in time for me to get to my pilates class on time too. In and out, quick service. I love that! read more

Seriously, if I'm gonna be a sticking this hockey butt of mine up in the air during yoga class doing a down dog, shoulder stand, or handstand, well then I better have me some strong ass shorts to canvass my BEHIND so I don't put on a free show! Thank you Lululemon Carlsbad for keeping my crack in check! I'm a hella big fan of high *end* (ahem) "technical fiber" athletic clothing. Pearl Izumi and Sugoi ROCK for cycling/triathlon/running apparel while Arcteryx, Aether, and Marmot are my favorites for outdoor wear. Then comes Lululemon, who I rely on to cover my back, literally! It's state of the art yoga clothing that you can also wear for other stuff too, score! Technical Fibers do not come cheap when it comes to outstanding sports apparel manufacturing. The fabrics are very expensive and they don't make a whole lot of them. Add to that they can be difficult to sew which increases the product wastage. Athletes and non-athletes alike rely on such clothes to be strong, flexible, quick drying, wick moisture away from the skin, odor free, functional, and most of all, DURABLE...I'd seriously rather pay more money and have a few pairs of shorts/tops knowing that I can rely on them day after day! After purchasing Lululemon's "Five Year T-Shirt" I can honestly say that it's the most comfortable, and most expensive tee I've ever worn! Will it really last 60 months? I don't know but probably not because my friends keep trying to steal it from me, grr!!! Any guy who attends Bikram, Ashtanga, Anusara, etc yoga classes will tell you that there's a dearth of men's clothing to be found that will allow you to be your best on a sticky mat. Sure you can go to the Old Navy and pick up shorts and a tank to wear in class for under $20. Problem is that said duds need to hold up during vigorous stretches and lengthy poses. If you're doing hot yoga, whatever you're wearing also needs to dry quickly, be very light, and the fibers should be treated so they don't retain the bacteria and oils from your sweat. I mean, UGH, how many times have you been stuck next to someone in class and they stank?! You try to keep that pleasant look on your face as you s l o w l y begin inching your mat to the other side of the room!!! The staff at Lululemon Carlsbad really know their stuff and have always been super helpful/friendly. On my last visit I scored a pair of their awesome "Cadence Shorts" which are perfect for trial running and hiking. The salesperson was instantly there to help me, was super helpful without being pushy, and was way diplomatic about their sizing. Even though I usually buy a 31 or 32, she said the shorts ran small and suggested a size 34. WTH? I've NEVER worn a 34! So did I listen to her and try them on before buying them? Of course NOT (I am a guy after all)! When I came back the next day to exchange them she already had a pair of 34's set aside behind the counter waiting for me! Most of all, Lululemon is committed to the community! They offer free special events and even complimentary yoga classes for all levels in their stores. My friends who ran this year's "Rock and Roll Marathon" in San Diego all loved the store's cheering section on the sidelines too! I love my Lululemon. Since I have started going to the gym a lot more, I thought I would venture here to see what new goodies they have in store. I feel like the quality of the clothes continue to deteriorate and the prices remain the same. I was slightly disappointed in the customer service here at this Lululemon because I remember back in the day when I would go to a LuLu store and the staff would ask me about what I like to do to stay healthy. They actually chatted it up with me and made me feel wanted. Here, the staff is aloof and basically there because it's part of their jobs. I didn't receive horrible service but I definitely did not receive the same service as I did a year ago. I'd come back because I love my lululemon luon but my expectations are a lot lower now. read more

Horrible treatment for veterans and first responders. I brought my 13 year old daughter in to get a pair of new leggings. She looked around for a while and 30 minutes later she picked out her leggings. I take them to the register and proceed to check out. The leggings were $94 after taxes. I mentioned to the clerk that I was a veteran and first responder and ask about any discounts. She said there was a first responder discount but I couldn't use it because I wasn't buying the leggings for me. I explained to get that I was paying for them but she said "no, you can only use your discount for clothes for yourself but not for her. She did explain they had a special sale in a few weeks were I could buy for somebody else. This is honestly one of the stupidest company policies I have ever come across. If I am there at the store physically buying an item ; why would you decline to honor a discount simply because the leggings are for female ? So I can buy male leggings and get a discount but not for female leggings ? This is just ridiculous. I am hopeful management will see this review and update their corporate policies and become more welcoming toward veterans and first responder. read more

I've been participating in the community run groups at this Carlsbad location. I commend Lululemon for involving all types of runners around the community. The people whom participate are very supportive, friendly, accepting, and encouraging. Once in the store, the employees are helpful in inquiring if you need any help. The clothing items are made from good quality fabrics and engineered to fit any type of body and sport. They also are educated on the products so if you are looking for a specific type of clothing item they can use their expertise in recommending something for you. The prices are a bit expensive; however, since the quality is excellent making it an investment well spent. Great colors, styles, and designs, too. read more

This is the store that started my lululemon "association" but it seems things have gone down hill over the years. I was in the store for probably 20-30 minutes and no one said a word to me! Not a "hey! Good morning! How ya doing today?" Or even a "are you finding everything you need?" I even had to flag someone down to get a fitting room. There were even some employees that were pretty rude and pushed in front of me to get to wherever they were going when that wasn't necessary. I'm pretty sure I wasn't invisible that day so I'm not sure why I was completely ignored. I wasn't checked on ONCE while in the fitting room either and I actually did need another size. I counted at least employees in the store and MAYBE six customers so it's not like they were swamped helping out other people. I actually spent a considerable amount of money in the store but in the future I'll just make the trip to Fashion Valley or UTC. They have much friendlier/helpful staff there! read more

My friend swears by Lululemon and so do all my other yoga friends. To me, I think they're all right; I haven't been able to justify spending a lot of $$$ on yoga clothes yet, mainly because I can't wrap my head around wearing something expensive that I'll eventually sweat in. Before anyone says I'm an ignorant hater, I do understand why they're expensive. It's good, breathable material and you're paying for the label. I'm no stranger to that; I have designer clothes and handbags, so I know good quality and names go hand in hand. Anyway, the selection here is just okay. I think the La Jolla one is better (not to mention bigger). I only came here because I had just taken a class at Yoga Six (formerly Haute Yoga) and wanted to check out the Ashtanga studio that was in the same plaza. You might find some sale rarities, but nothing too eye-catching. When I was there the girls who helped me were very friendly and helpful. I don't know why some people have had bad customer service here; maybe it's because I didn't try calling them... They also carry yoga dvds, props, and mats. I'm not really into how yogitoes and manduka have some of their merchandise here and are passed off as "lululemon" products. Just because it's a different color and has the Lulu label and is a little more expensive doesn't make it a Lululemon. However, I did see that Manduka ProLite mats were no longer carried on the Lulu website...can't say that I like the Lululemon mats 'cause I'm allergic to rubber mats (and I also think they stink, but that's totally irrelevant). But I've heard good things about the mats' traction, so I guess it works for some people. +1 for offering free classes to the community! Every month they showcase a different yoga studio within the North County region. I encourage anyone to try them! read more

Lululemon is one of my favorite places and I had a great experience at this store the first time I visited, but did not when I returned back for a second time. The man that helped me was very friendly however when I went to check out the rounder shapes blonde short haired woman at the register seemed annoyed and unhappy. She did not seem happy with the customer before me and took out her frustration on me. It was not an enjoyable shopping experience. I do not plan on returning back based off of this not so great experience. I do have a background in retail, so I understand what it's like to be frustrated at customers but this was unacceptable. I will continue shopping at the other locations within San Diego County. read more

worst lululemon experience ever. My daughter went in to exchange a pair of lululemon leggings, and the sales associate was rude right off the start. She proceeded to be rude the entire time and accused my daughter of arguing when I was standing right there and she was clearly being polite and that the staff worker kept cutting her off. The worker proceeded to tell me things that she said to her that clearly weren't said by my daughter. She was clearly racist because another person who was white went in for an exchange and the same worker was happy to help. My daughter does not get upset nor does she cry often, but this worker was so rude, that she made my daughter cry in the store. will not be going here again. read more

I know people say this all the time but "I don't usually write reviews" but I just had to take the time to acknowledge how friendly and helpful Lauren and Shelby at this location are! I'm not a size zero so I've always had a weird insecurity when it comes to shopping at lululemon, but Lauren took the time to help me find a pair of leggings that fit super well and made me feel confident. I know retail can be chaotic and customers can be a pill, especially during and right after the holidays, but everyone was just super nice. read more

I've always had a really good experience here. My husband and I just went tonight to exchange a pair of leggings for a different size. Two associates were very friendly and helpful: Lauren and Megan. They were eager to help us and were very personable. I don't know what the lady's issue is that just left a scathing review (and clearly she left another review pretending to be someone else... it's kinda obvious lol). She said they were racist. Some of the other stores that have been renovated have become too corporate and bland which has taken away from the fun and energetic feeling you used to get when walking into a Lulu Lemon store anywhere in the world. I really enjoy the comfort, style and fit of the LuLuLemon brand and have been purchasing this athletic apparel for years. The store in Carlsbad has a very good selection. Plenty of Parking and a great location. Unfortunately, the associates at this location lack the most basic customer service skills. On my last shopping visit the check out person did not bother to remove the sensor from my jacket how difficult can that be? isn't this part of knowing your merchandise, looking for the sensor removing it and basically just doing your job. LuLuLemon suffers with staff TRAINING issues. If your staff was trained properly, you could easily reduce staff by half. read more

Well long story short, my mom gets the military discount...and apparently if you get the military discount you're not allowed to buy anything for anyone else. Customer service here is the worst. I have had so many offputting experiences- from snotty women working here to downright poor customer service. I recently brought an item in to be fixed as per Lululemon's "quality promise" and the tailoring job was so poorly done that the item became unwearable. The educator at the store argued with me, basically saying that they had it sent out to be fixed by a local "expert", so I HAD to accept the ruined item. Honestly, this store needs a new manager and a complete staff overhaul. I travel further to UTC and Fashion Valley stores because this store is terrible. Makes me want to shop at Alo, Athleta, and the like. read more
