While tourists were lined up at the Kalakaua store waiting for the store to open, I came to the Ala Moana location an hour after they opened to pick up a T-shirt and shorts. Dear lululemon, When someone walks into your store 2 days after Christmas, with a GIFT RECEIPT and says "I'd like to return this item and get store credit", please do NOT apply the credit towards the credit card that was used to purchase the item being returned, because that item is probably a GIFT ('gift receipt' usually means 'GIFT receipt'). Your entire staff was unable to figure out how to void the credit and apply it towards a store credit for me. I can't believe I am the only one who tried to get store credit with a gift receipt right after Christmas. PEACE OUT. EDIT 2/1/12: I wrote to lululemon via their website expressing my disappointment with my visit and they contacted me to apologize and asked me to come back to their store to select a top of the same value as the one I had returned. So I'm a guy and I hate wearing clothes that are tight and stiff. I started wearing lulu shorts about 5 years ago and now they are all I wear. But most guys who wear T.H.E. Short linerless will agree with me and die for these shorts. But that isn't what this 5 star review is about. I recently started a big boy job and I have to wear "slacks" to work. That is my worst fear. I'd hate to sit at a desk (or stand since I have a stand up desk but those are kind of a scam and tiring) in some traditional slacks for 8 hours. Lulu's men's commission pants have saved me from being uncomfortable and suffering from S.B.S (sticky b@lls syndrome). I am a newbie to Yoga. After years of running, I've decided to decrease the time I spent pounding away on the pavement, and have taken up a new exercise - Yoga. If you've ever taken a yoga class, you will know that stretch pants is a must-have unless you wear pretty underwear. I've seen a lot of people wearing Lululemon attire, and I knew their stuff is not cheap, so it must be good. People will not spend $80 for low quality leggings? I knew exactly the style that I wanted, so I headed straight to the area where all the capri-length leggings were. Each style is displayed on a mannequin so that you know exactly what it looks like. Then underneath each mannequin are the leggings separated by size. Can it get any easier? A salesperson immediately approached me to see if there was anything I needed. And she did a good job of persuading me to buy a top that I had no inclination of purchasing when I first walked in. Ugh. The material is so soft, and moves with the body. No bunching or chaffing. I'm definitely going back for more, once the next pay day rolls around. read more

I love Lululemon because they help me stay fit. They offer these CrossFit classes that make me feel "sexy" LoL. Ok, so I said it. They also have walk/run groups, yoga class, etc.! Very awesome. Monday, February 6 at 1145 am. Besides being expensive which I'm ok with, the customer service representative in the dressing room folding table was extremely rude. I kept trying to get his attention by say excuse me about 6 times, I understand that maybe he didn't hear me but I was the only customer in the whole fitting room area. When I finally got his attention I asked if he could get me other yoga pants that has the 23" inseam and he said to give him a minute. Then he continued to fold clothes. I waited a minute standing at the door to the fitting room watching him and he continued on his folding. I just bought a pair of shorts for $70, The cashier asked me if I worked in healthcare and I said yes and she said great because you get 25% off. Then she asked what type of healthcare I worked in and I responded that I was a dentist and she said oh I'm sorry you don't qualify as healthcare. I was very impressed with what Lululemon has to offer. I have been looking for a good pair of workout tights. A pair that was made well and possible one that you could not see through! Although they are pricey the quality definitely makes it worth it. The tights I decided to purchase were Align Pant ll. These tights are designed to minimize distractions and maximize comfort with full freedom to move. If you are looking for a good quality tight especially when doing cardio these tights will do the job. Just remember to follow the cleaning instructions, which the sales girl fully explained. I brought it back to exchange. But since the item went on sale, my 200$ jacket was only credited for 120$. They stole 80$ flat out. They had my purchase on file. Agreed they knew what I paid. Had such an incredible experience with Sydney that I had to write about it!! First day in Hawaii and we came to check out the aloha series. I was helped out by Sydney to see which size fit better, but they ran out in the color I wanted. She told me they were doing custom prints that Saturday (+ she'd be working!) so we were excited to come back. Came back in Saturday and was immediately greeted by Sydney! She was so sweet, it was like I hadn't seen an old friend in awhile. I was able to get my leggings in the size, color and island print that I wanted! Chloe helped me fill out the paperwork and she was great to talk to as well. Sydney even remembered I was leaving Hawaii soon (there's supposed to be a 3 day turnaround!) and had my order rushed so I could pick it up the next day. As I was getting in my car to leave the mall, they called me and said my order was READY for pick up!! I was shocked since it only took about 20 minutes! Went back in so I wouldn't have to come back for a third time and Sydney handed me my leggings. So so happy!! Seriously the best service I've ever had at lulus thanks to my girl, Sydney. The store is typical nothing different from any of the others. There's nothing other than maybe the updated style for the season. Now that's a comment about the merchandise. The customer service of this particular store at this time (afternoon) was non existent. I walked in and their employees basically looked at me and walked away- no hello no welcome unlike the hundreds of other stores I've been. I decided to try a bit more and purchased items that are completely over priced though cute and again the service was very disappointing. The young lady basically spoke to me in a mono-tone voice and said nothing else but what my total was and if I was a member. She did not even look me in the eyes. I am a short Asian woman with tattoo art visible maybe a bit intimidating looking but I have never once been uncomfortable in a retail store especially lululemon. As I stand outside the store observing their behavior it's very obvious they need to either have better employees or train better customer service. 2/22/23 around 4:15. I hardly write reviews but was quite frustrated with my experience today. I went in to try on the define jackets to potentially buy one but also for sizing to buy a color online. None of the employees would help me unless I approached them asking specifically for help and even then they seemed reluctant. I asked a girl wearing a green sweater and glasses if she could help me locate a size to try on. She was putting back maybe 2 sweaters right there and said "yes just give me a second and I'll help you." She then immediately spoke into her walkie and said "can someone help in the women's section by the define jackets" and just walked away. I ended up going through all the jackets myself to look for a size while she lingered in the area and starred at me. Not sure if she was a manager or regular employee for her to be delegating such a simple task as looking for a size for me but it was rude and unprofessional. It wasn't even busy. read more

Love their clothes, but on the fence with their hit-or-miss customer service. Dial it back a few days ago, 5-stars for Sydney. She helped me rfind a comfortable sports bra. However the Ala Moana location didn't have the color I wanted in my size, so Sydney called the Waikiki location and had them put it on hold for me until the next day. I'm really appreciative that she took the initiative to do that. So for today's visit, Izzy was super helpful in the fitting room and was able to help me find a smaller size that I couldn't find on the floor. 5-stars for her too! Okay, the 3-stars is for my experience at the register. It started off great. I was asked for my name and for my State ID, however that's where it started to go downhill. After stepping right outside of the store doors, I checked my receipt and noticed that I didn't get the Hawaii resident promo discount. I brought this to the attention of the Lululemon employee managing the line outside of the store and she proceeded to question when I bought the item even after clearly pointing out the date and time on the receipt. When I asked how I could go about getting it corrected she told me to stand back in line to wait again, only so that I could go back in to see an employee who will "investigate". What's to "investigate"?! If you messed up, fess up and apologize. Bring it to your team's attention and help your customer out instead of making them wait in line again. Appointments are needed to shop here but there are no appointments available online. Store is empty, but again they will not let anyone in. They will also not allow you to come in 15 mins before the store is closed because despite the store having actual hours, you can't come in 15mins before. There are so many rules it doesn't make sense and when you go in, people are huddled near the sales rack and not 6ft apart. It's just an overall awful experience. Highly advise you to just shop online and avoid these workers altogether or go to the Waikiki store, at the least the workers are nicer. read more

Yelp 365 Challenge #234/365 Dear Lululemon, Oh you are my addiction and now I know where you are located at Ala Moana. I kid you not, when I was in Baltimore for business for two months, I was practically at the Inner Harbor location almost every weekend and walking away with something and wondering how in the heck did I just blow away almost $200? Then, those thoughts disappeared as I wore whatever I bought and lovingly took care of each garment I bought from Lululemon. When I visited this location, as always, the staff is ever so friendly to where I bought me running shorts. I used to keep away from the running shorts because I was afraid of it riding up, however, the girl shared that it doesn't. And you know what? It's true. I want to weep with joy as I dance around in my running groove shorts but I'll just run around. The location at Ala Moana is perfect as well as the size of the store. The staff is helpful and there are yoga classes Sunday morning. And if they are anything like their sister location in Baltimore, I'm going to guess there is a line waiting to join their free class on Sundays. If you are looking for quality running or yoga clothes, Lululemon is a place to shop. The prices may have you wincing but the quality of their fabric will have you running back for more. Although some of their colors doesn't appeal to me, I love their blacks, lavenders, greys and some orange :) I never thought I would promote buying workout clothes that are high in prices but when it comes to quality and feeling pretty, Lululemon is my first choice because the company caters to the wants of us women and men too! Not only do they have clothing but they also sell accessories (i.e., bags, headbands, water bottles, yoga mats) to go with what you buy. Another plus is that they will hem your pants, so you won't be concerned that your pants will be dragging or catching underfoot. How cool is that? The staff is knowledgable in the different lines of clothing that Lululemon is selling. So, to help with my addiction, I have shared with my family members that if they are wondering what to get me for my birthday, Christmas, Mother's day, Grandparent's Day, etc...give me a gift card for Lululemon because it will not go to waste and it will lessen the amount of money I spend from my own wallet. I've only briefly ventured into the Lululemon store (located on the mall level, nordstrom wing of ala moana center). Because the products here are so pricey, I usually look at their online store before I go in. I like to psych myself out a little bit first haha. I like my little collection of Lululemon crops and tops--they are good quality and have lasted a few years, they fit well and are just downright cute. I recently ventured into the store because a friend of mine had given me a gift card and I was in need of some new yoga pants :) The salesgirl helping me on the floor was really friendly and helpful, but not overly pushy. She seemed down-to-earth and well...I was expecting them to be arrogant for some reason, but she wasn't at all!! I am now the proud owner of cute paisley print groove pants that would have costed me a pretty penny ($106 to be exact) if not for my lovely friend's generosity. I don't like Lululemon's return policy (Nordstrom's return policy has spoiled me). From what I understand, Lululemon doesn't do returns. You can exchange within 2 weeks, but that's it. Consequence: they strongly suggest trying on things before you buy them.... Let's be honest, a lot of the clothes they sell for the ladies are tight....think about how many people have tried on those skin tight pants before you bought them because of their very strict return policy. I like the clothes and accessories. The store is clean and organized. But lately it seems customer interaction is going down. I am one of those customers that has no problems asking questions of the sales associates if I have any questions. But it seems lately that when wandering in the store I am constantly stopped every two minutes by the employees explaining their products. Yeah, I get what the products are for. I own several lululemon attire. The tags are self-explantory and I can read, thank you very much. It's hard to shop in store where I am constantly harrassed by the employees. How about a simple "if you have any questions don't hesitate to ask," and go back to tidy the store and ringing up customers. It's been 3 years and my relationship with Lululemon has deepened. The store has moved to the beautiful new Ewa wing between Bloomingdales and Nordstrom on the second floor. The store feels brighter and a little bigger. The men's section has gotten a little bigger which my bf is happy about. It's located right in the front. I like how the store is laid out and it seems more modern like the other stores I've visited in Vancouver and San Francisco. I've been wearing these clothes for over 3 years and I love their product. I still stand behind them despite their prices. Also they stand behind their product, if something breaks or is defective, you can bring it back to them and they'll replace the item with the same item or something comparable. Of course this doesn't mean regular wear and tear and keep getting new speed shorts. Don't be intimidated. You don't need to be a yogi or athletic to enjoy their products. But as someone who likes being active, you will enjoy it since most of their clothing is comfortable and functional. Their backpacks and bags are also useful and very practical. The educators here are friendly and willing to help you. Some clothing fits differently so I always recommend trying on. Ask questions. They have a great website with free shipping as well if you don't see your size. Just remember the name of the clothing, color and price point and look online. I'm a Lulu addict. Last time I reviewed Lulu, they lost a star for the sometimes insurmountable prices. I can't really justify spending over $150 on two prices of clothing.... As much as I try! So, I am destined to subsist off the sale rack and Justin's magnanimous gifts. However.... I have figured out the way to get my lulu fix without spending ANYTHING! It's Sunday morning bliss.... An absolutely free yoga sesh with some of the islands best instructors! Every Sunday morning at 8 am, people who know this amazing secret start forming a line in front of Lulu. You make sure you have a waiver on file and then find a spot! It fills up pretty fast so all spots in the store are usually taken! (They roll the shelves back into the dressing room and roll everything else back against the walls.) There have been many different classes: dance yoga, core power yoga, the Bikram style and more. It's great to have a foray into different kinds of yoga and get a workout on a Sunday morning! Namaste :) read more

I'm so addicted to Lululemon! Their workout pants are buttery soft and fits all the curves in the right places. I do have a hard time finding sports bras that fit. I'm a 36D and I literally got stuck in one of them in the dressing room... true story! I wanted to yell for help, but managed to get out of it. Lol! They only offer a few for in my size range and they're very chunky looking. I'm guessing to support the girls they need to have wider straps for comfort as well. Oh Lulu.... why do you have to be so.... expensive but comfortable. I was given my first "outfit" as a gift. I now curse that person everytime I buy something here. Why, you ask? Because if it weren't for him, I probably would've never set foot in this store and therefore had more money to my name. The clothes are very comfortable and the pants are very flattering. They offer free alterations, just ask when you're trying on the clothes (no returns once it's hemmed). The staff is very friendly and helpful and when you can be lucky as to find a good sale (not often), it's even better! (No returns on sale items either). They also just opened a kids line called ivivva - which is located on Kapiolani Blvd. Cute and comfortable looking clothes but my daughter didn't score any since I couldn't tell how often she'd actually make use out of it, and the clothes aren't that cheap. This review is for the FREE YOGA sessions on SUNDAYs inside the store. Starting time is 830AM Store opens at 820AM (to place your mats and set up) Line outside the store starts at 805AM!!! Literally, if you show up at 820AM, you will not get a spot. Once the store opens, everyone runs inside and claims their territory. A few times, friends of mine had to place their mats all the way in the back, inside the fitting room area as there was no space!! These free yoga sessions are about an hour to approximately an hour and 15 minutes long, depending on the instructor and they are so darn awesome, even for free!! Instructors I've taken these sessions from include: Dorian and Lily. Sessions and instructors are posted on the Lululemon website. I didn't think yoga could get me sweating. I had taken yoga a few times, pilates a few times and even Bikram Yoga a few times all at various studios. Nothing except Bikram yoga got me sweating (duh!). So, I really didn't think the yoga instructions at Lululemon could get me sweating... especially since it has never happened before and I have such a rigorous workout schedule and especially since they're offered FREE. I literally, have to nap the rest of the day! One of these days, I might participate in the Run to Yoga thing they have. It's running + yoga. But who knows, I might pass out after! Long time LuLu consumer, especially since the company is so supportive of the military with a 25% discount. Sadly stores on Oahu have a very strange policy, one that I've never seen or heard of at the dozens of other Lululemon stores I have visited. They will give you 25% off a product, unless u decide to have the Aloha heat transferred onto the product. Then they no longer give the discount. So the same product is 25% more with any Aloha on it. If u but the shirt with the discount, and bring it back later, they will not offer discount. I was saddened that a company I've grown to love, is willing to alienate their military consumers for a few dollars in profit. Especially an island with the historical military significance as Oahu. read more
