Talk about a company that backs up their product it's The North Face. I purchased an all proof stretch jacket (water proof) April 15, 2021. At the time of purchase the salesperson said TNF has a lifetime warranty on their product and I appreciated the heads up. I take good care of my jackets and today I wore it for protection from the heavy rain. When I got home I noticed the inside lining of the hood was peeling. Other than that the jacket was in mint condition. Non fading, no tears, all zippers were in good working order. Fortunately, I still had the receipt so I went to the TNF store at Ala Moana Shopping Center to see what can be done. Salesperson 969009 assisted me with my issue with the jacket and after answering a few questions he then inspected the jacket and agreed it was well taken care of and in good condition. I filled out a form and to my surprise I received a full refund in a gift card. Not prorated but a full refund! I immediately looked around the floor and found another light jacket to my liking and purchased it from the store. Just want to say the salesperson (unfortunately I didn't get his name) was very helpful, professional and very knowledgeable. If I still worked as a store manager for Nordstrom I would have recruited him immediately. read more

While living in the Bay Area, I've seen many people wear North Face. It's extremely affordable and offers best bang for your buck on jackets. I personally think it's the best entry level quality jacket. It's versatile and stylish. They also offer a lifetime warranty which I had to use once on my puffer. Luckily in Honolulu, The North Face store is in Ala Moana Center. It's very convenient and a short commute for most to check them out. The store is a good size with a decent amount of staff to help customers. Joyce is a model employee there and I hope management promotes her or gives her a raise! It's rare you'll need a puffer to wear in Hawaii but they do have rain jackets for local use. If they don't have the item, you can order through the store for free shipping. That old saying, you get what you pay for and The North Face at Ala Moana is no exception. Located in the Ewa Wing of the mall above The Alley, they have a corner unit that faces Bloomingdales. Parking in the mall is free, so find your stall and walk on in. The staff is always welcoming and checking in on everyone to see if you have questions or needs. A few years before COVID, I purchased a combo weather jacket that was on sale and had a water resistant shell with a fleece inner jacket. Years passed and on one of my trips after COVID I noticed I was shedding these white particles whenever I took my jacket off. Come to find out, the water resistant lining on the inside of the shell was coming off. Feeling I got a bum jacket, and assuming that's why the jacket was on sale, I started thinking of what I could get to replace this one. Fast forward to 2024, I was wondering inside the store, 'just looking' and an employee kindly asked if I needed help. She reminded me of my jacket that the liner was coming off so I asked her about that and if they could reapply the liner. She said, "Sure, we can take a look at that." She was leading to that all their jackets have a lifetime warranty so if anything goes wrong, bring the jacket to them and they will send to service for free! If they cannot repair the jacket, they will give you a gift card in the price of the jacket for you to purchase a current model or something else to your liking. Before this day, I had no clue of the lifetime warranty lol. Ended up buying a Gortex shell in the meantime while I sent my old jacket for service. Had to send both the shell and inner jacket for service and in about 3 weeks later I got an email from their service dept stating they couldn't repair the lining and will be issuing me a gift card in the price of what I paid. With that gc, I picked up a new inner fleece and a puffer vest. For that Autumn 2024 trip, I was wearing warm, updated gear and couldn't have felt more reassured that I spent those hundreds of dollars in the right spot. Today, Black Friday of 2025, I had $20 from my Xplorer Membership and the store was offering 30% off for their Black Friday sale. I was in the store on Tuesday, and was eyeing a beanie and new gloves I needed for my next trip. Came in today and got to stack my $20 and get the 30% off my purchases. What a cool place for cool places... The North Face store is located in Ala Moana Center near Nordstrom is a fantastic place to find gears and outerwear for all things outdoors. All displayed very nicely I still had some issues wondering if which are for men and which are for women as it doesn't seem to be clearly divided. Once I look at the label it's clearly stated men or women and prices are a bit difficult to see as the fonts are tiny so shopping and browsing to a bit more effort for a novice like myself who was looking for some jackets that are warm but not for arctic weather. Yes I can ask any staff where there are many that are super friendly it wasn't the level I was at as I'm just browsing it's just not easy to see as there are my factors of each item and wished they made it easier for you to know what level of warmth, rugged, and for which gender as getting lost is not something we like to face anywhere we go. Shit, Customer service was so bad. Everyone but one male worker was nice. I wanted to exchange my pants for a larger size. He said my pants were in no.t good condition when the one thing that was bad was able to be remove? like broTHEN the 1 month refund time had expired. The woman manager was nice and let it slide. But! he then said i still owed money? 80$ for what? The same pants i bought prior? But he said the size price was lower than the one i was exchanging for. I am so into hiking clothes. Wearing them feels comfortable and light. Hawaii island don't have that luxury of hiking stores but it's a blessing already that at least The North Face was here in the island. What's good is that its just a few minute walk from where we stayed. Sweet.... Every time we walked-in there were always somebody who are cheerfully and friendly people that will greet us. Staffs are helpful and make sure that you are taking care of. I am so grateful and satisfied on their service. Hawaii is a tropical country and how I wished that even though it's winter time they won't get rid of the summer stuffs as the winter clothes they displayed doesn't really fully apply on the weather situation in Hawaii. I received amazing customer service here! I first visited this store a couple weeks back to mail in my damaged north face backpack. The store clerk helped me figure out what to put on the paperwork, and was really helpful. I received an e-gift card from the north face because they were unable to repair my backpack. I went into the store today, and again, the store clerks were amazing at providing input on the different backpacks that they have. They let me take as much time as I needed to figure out which one I was going to get. They even went into the back and pulled out a brand new backpack after I decided on one! I travel 60+ flights a year and was going through cheaper roller from a store called R-ss ' $50 -$70 a pop . The NF roller has broken twice in 6 years and I had no problem returning it . NF replaced it both times . Handle wasn't working right , once and tread on the wheel fell off , once . I couldn't believe my eyes when I saw the sign for The North Face at Ala Moana's new Ewa Wing. The North Face brand provides apparel and equipment for seasonal outdoor and indoor activities. My immediate reaction was excitement for an actual store in Hawaii as I've ordered skiing, hiking and even training apparel online from this company. Luckily, I've not ever had to return any online purchases but, they do have an excellent return policy. Living in Hawaii when it's normally 82 - 85 degrees Fahrenheit, the thought of trying on down-filled or fleece thermal wear isn't high on my priority list unless I'm planning to travel into cold climate. But, at least having a store like The North Face, I can confidently try on and purchase immediately without having to anxiously wait for delivery. I'd rather get my cold weather essentials PRIOR to travel. You know, it's a good idea to be prepared! I remember traveling to Boston, MA during the dead of Winter and was sure glad that I was prepared...my thin Hawaiian blood couldn't have taken on the cold blustery wind and snow otherwise. However, my business traveling companion didn't even attempt to get anything online. She even made fun of me as I was bundled up in North Face apparel saying that I looked like I was a walking ad for the company. I guess that she figured she'd get her Winter outerwear and accessories once we landed. Long story short, once we landed, we directed our driver to take us to the closest department store so she could get herself a coat, thermal underwear and accessories. Unfortunately, she had to take what was available in price, size, style and color. It turned out to be a more expensive lesson for her. In need of some warm, winter clothes? Look no further, Hawaii has the North Face. They are located near Bloomingdales and Nordstrom on the 3rd floor. They have a large corner store, which means it is pretty large. They have apparel and gear for men and women. I would say that their selection is very big and you can find anything from hiking apparel to snow apparel. They also have boots or shoes and even luggage/bags. They have a very tiny children's section that has little selection. I think that they may have only one of each size of each item. They have more older children items and not too many toddler items. When we went there my husband purchases of few base layers to wear under snow gear. He also purchased a shell jacket to go over the puffer jacket that he already has. I bought the two in one combo jacket. This basically has the puffer and shell in one. The puffer attaches to the inside of the shell with a zipper and can be easily removed as well. This combo jacket came out cheaper than purchasing the puffer jacket and shell jacket separately. The colors are limited, but it definitely saves you around $20 or so. My husband also bought some gloves. They are very sturdy and seem to be very long lasting. We got a bib set for my son. He actually tried it out and the clothes stayed super dry. Couldn't even tell that it was a little bit wet. Thumbs up on the fact that you will stay dry in the snowy weather. It is Hawaii, so their stock is limited. You can purchase it and order it through the store. They said that it would get to the store within a couple days and you could pick it up. Great if you are buying for something in advance, but if you need it right away you would probably need to settle for something similar. The staff are very nice. I would say that some of them could use a little more training on what is good for certain types of weather or places. The North Face store located on the third floor of the Ewa wing at Ala Moana Center. This store has active winter clothing for men, women, and children. They even sell backpacks, gloves, and shoes. On Tuesday night, the first of December, I stepped foot into The North Face store for the first time. I was greeted immediately by the employees. As I was browsing around the store I noticed some nice looking jackets and vests. I liked how the jackets had extra pockets on the front side near the breast area. These jackets can easily store the cellphones, pens, and small note pads. The price ranges for the jackets were between $50.00 to as much as $130.00 depending on the styles. If only I had waited for this store to open I would have purchased a nice looking jacket. One month too late. I do know that The North Face does accept any brand of jackets and footwear for recycle (drop it off in the designated bin) and the rewards can go towards any purchase of The North Face merchandises. read more

This is a new location at the Ala Moana center which opened late 2015. They carry the latest NF gear with both women and men's line. They really need to work on their customer service skills. I walk in with one female associate talking to what appeared to be a friend. I anticipate at least a "hello" or greeting. Nothing....then behind me two other shoppers walk in and she says "hello welcome". Then another follows and the two women continue to talk but no greeting. This is the first day open at about 10:00am and I didn't notice any grand opening issues. Well done. Granted you can buy online, but with some products it's almost necessary to see, touch and fit before making the purchase. Jackets - The North Face's primary products - especially so. More importantly, The North Face is a welcome addition to the mall because it gives adult dudes who are at the mall with a shopping female(s) somewhere to go. For this reason I think every mall should have stores with fishing equipment, firearms, cigars, etc. The North Face is a decent consolation. The North Face makes quality outdoor apparel and accessories. I really like their stuff. Their jackets are are pretty much the benchmark for quality. Go someplace cold (obviously not Hawaii) and you will see almost everyone wearing The North Face jackets - that pretty much says it all. Their backpacks are very nice too. Having been born and raised in Hawaii, I have a difficult time fitting in when I go to cold weather environments. Going somewhere cold? When I say cold, I'm talking like freezing or below freezing cold. Well, you gotta check out The North Face. They have something for everyone, whether it be thermals, a sweat shirt, gloves, caps or full on extreme cold weather gear. I was in the market for an extreme weather jacket for my trip to Northern Hokkaido where the temperatures recently have dipped into the single digits. I had another cold weather insulated jacket, but was worried that I would be facing temperatures below zero. The North Face is known for their line of jackets tailored to the needs of skiers, explorers, mountain climbers, etc. The jacket I settled on has a 550 down insulation with a waterproof, wind proof outer shell and an insulated hood as well and is rated one of the warmest. They have a fair selection, but make sure you go there with an open mind as there are many types and styles of jackets to choose from. They also may not have your size/color preference so that's why I mentioned going with an open mind. They do, however, offer two day in store ordering so that's a big plus. Just make sure you try on several different styles and sizes so you have a good idea of how it will fit you if you order it from them. Knowledgeable sales staff to help you with your selection, but be prepared to pay top dollar for their stuff. I believe you get what you pay for when it comes to specialty gear like this. Since Sport Authority closed down, Oahu's option for good hiking shoes is slim to none and I NEED new hiking shoes yesterday! After ordering new hiking shoes from REI online that didn't fit right I went to North Face in search of the perfect. The in-store selection of hiking and trail running shoes was extremely limited: only 4 different models for women and sizes were extremely limited. I was going to order the pair I really wanted online BUT even the online warehouse was out of stock. A lot of other Yelpers complained about the poor customer service: my experience at the store was fair. The first associate that assisted me was attentive BUT was absolutely clueless about the shoes. My husband asked her what the difference was between two different shoes and her answer was "the name." The second associate was much more knowledgeable about shoes and hiking. Thanks to Kawika, he was so helpful in answering all our questions on what to wear, what is preferred, and what to expect. Overall, the staff here were friendly and very helpful. They don't have that much variety when it comes to colors on certain jackets, and they can be costly. I originally purchased a pair of shoes over the north face website. Unfortunately, I received the wrong size shoe WITH the correct labeled box shoe size. I tried contacting the mainland --who was quite rude. I didn't want to waste my time sending it back/ esp making a trip to the postal service. The easiest way was to return the shoes at the Alamoana location. The staff was very nice and helpful! Better yet-- I got $31 back from what I paid for--which was $104.50. My family and I went into the store today to purchase snow pants and winter jacket for an upcoming ski trip. The style selection and size selection is poor. When I finally decided to pay, the 2 cashiers behind the desk did not greet me and were busy socializing amongst each other. Also, the young Caucasian male cashier who supposedly attended Chaminade University did not want to honor my Chaminade ID for an educators discount and accused me of presenting a fraud ID. I am amazed that we finally got The North Face store in the Ala Moana Shopping Center and let me tell you that it was a wonderful experience for me since I was looking for a good gift for a friend of mines, which I know that he will enjoy and wear during the chilly months in Hawaii, which is not until mid-December and January -mid March. Hands down the WORST "service" I've ever experienced. My husband and I were in there for over 30 minutes trying to choose a gift for our friend. We don't know anything about hiking apparel so we needed some guidance and suggestions. Coming to a specialty shop like this, wouldn't you expect that? For the entire time we were there, not a single associate (there were four of them) bothered to ask us if we needed help, much less even acknowledge us, despite the store being completely dead. I saw another customer taking shoes up to the cashier to ask if he could try them on. What kind of retail service is that? No matter how great a store's merchandise is, unfriendly, unhelpful staff ruins the experience of shopping there. I refuse to spend my hard earned money at stores that treat customers so poorly.
